The Rarest Flower In The Desert The name "Blooming Oud" gives an idea of the smell because there is no heavy, no smoke, no animals, and little earthiness, but a smooth, pure, soft, and clean sensation of floating medicinal and sweet oud wood as if an ancient piece of aged wood was in there. Only oud wood, wood chips scattered here and there, no opulent resin or sap. A little conservative, this oud aroma is light and subtle, but the quality and purity of intention are unmistakable. Supporting it are flowers, woods, amber, and white musk. All these aromas reinforce a very light silver oud and a calm wood aroma. If you are looking for a big Far Eastern oud or a bold perfume, this is not for you since it is an accessible oud fragrance for those who don’t particularly like the animalistic variety of the ingredients. This fragrance expertly blends cold spices with earthy and herbal tones of leaves and woods, a hint of musk and a bunch of flowers while agarwood is constantly present in the whole, always in the background, to provide a touch of mystery. Blooming Oud announces itself with a sparkling explosion of bergamot, all too sour and spicy, with influences of lemon, bitter orange and perhaps other citrus fruits. It blends so well with the balsamic green cardamom, which is overdosed and exudes vivid and natural, like a handful of freshly crushed pods releasing their pungent aroma. It is a citrus, dark, and aromatic opening that maintains greenish and purple lavender tones within it. Grassy and dry like hay is the tone of lavender, not too floral, blue, soapy, or barbershop-like. Powdery vibrations coming from the iris flowers, courtesy of the alpha-isomethyl ionone, here more dusty and musky than Memo with the well-known iris reflections announce the entry into the heart. At this point lavender and cardamom contrast in a lovely and very pleasant way, with a fresh and fragrant result. In my first impression, I wrote that the musky nuances in the background reminded me of the earthy and animalistic facets of For Him EAU DE TOILETTE, and I believe this impression is due to the cistus flower, with its deep, diffusive, musky, sweet balsamic scent, with a dry flavour, warm, earthy, herbaceous undertone. A touch of cypriol, also known as nagarmotha, adds some woodiness and earthiness with a hint of spice. As it gets closer to the bottom, the scent takes a turn and becomes even more woody and musky. A big spoonful of earthy, slightly nutty patchouli and sun-dried vetiver add warmth along with soft musk. I love the way oud, woods and musks interact with each other. A hint of vanilla and musk finishes the base with their sweet and warm qualities. The next day, on the skin it is almost a memory, but on the paper strip, there is still a residue of aromatic and balsamic woodiness that gives off aromatic scents of cardamom. You have to be a fan of green cardamom to fully appreciate this fragrance as the cold spice is always there. In hindsight, "Blooming Cardamon" would have been more appropriate as a name. The oud here is like the white veil that wraps the wedding confetti, light, transparent, and impalpable. As far as similarities with Oud Wood EAU DE PARFUM go, Blooming Oud is totally in its own right but can be said to be inspired by Oud Wood, not mirrored but imitated. Soft, smoky, leathery, spicy and quite relaxing. Blooming Oud is creamier, earthier and has touches of iris throughout its life, while Oud Wood retains its peppery and slightly medicinal character from opening to closing with a stronger oud note and dark woodiness. I really don’t think that these fragrances have a very similar personality, despite having some assonant notes here and there. Word of advice: don’t blindly buy Blooming Oud as a replacement for Tom Ford Oud Wood. It might surprise you how different they really are, even though both are fantastic. Quite formal, good office scent with a Middle Eastern whiff. This is not a beast-mode fragrance, it is the weakest of the Alberto Morillas Oud collection. Longevity is decent on my skin, over half a day, but becomes skin-tight after about a couple of hours. Spring and autumn are the ideal seasons to wear and enjoy, during the days and afternoons. Personally, I reserve Memo for evening and night events. As often happens, I go against the grain and appreciate this perfume, which is a little too underestimated by influencers and YouTubers. It is non-linear, so one should check the full evolution on the warm skin instead of giving up after the initial blast on the paper strip. I absolutely love this fragrance! This is certainly not a Tom Ford Oud Wood clone, and frankly to my nose I would never have even associated the two however there are some marked similarities. There is a leathery woodsy quality to TFOW, and while there is that present here, this fragrance takes it in a much brighter and more playful and joyous direction. TFOW remains cool, opulent, focused and unbothered. It remains in its own center, not requiring approval from anybody. The man who wears TFOW can speak his opinion into a room, and not even look up from the old book he is reading to check and see if anybody agrees. Every gentleman needs a study, with big leather chair and library accompanying. Blooming Oud on the otherhand is paying closer attention to those around him. There's a smile, or at least, a smirk. He might even be flirtatious. He's certainly grounded, and masculine, but he's adventurous. The fragrance starts out a little harsh, due to how bright it opens. Once it smooths down amd some of those initial synthetics blend down, we start to get a little more similarity between the 2. The brightness never fully leaves though, and there is a mildly tart sweetness present in Blooming Oud that is not there in TFOW. This fragrance has something in it that reminds me of "Antaeus" from Chanel. The warmth and brightness harkens to the Myrrh and the Labdanum present. There is also the smoothness of the powdery oakmoss in the base. There is a buzzing and fuzy warmth that feels very alive here. Inviting. On the other hand, Tom Ford leans into creamy Tonka Bean and Vanilla to create a more stationary and cool base. Grounded. Smart. Confident. I don't really think these fragrances have a very similar personality, despite having some similar notes. If you think you want to blind buy Blooming Oud as a replacement for TFOW, you may be surprised just how different they really are. Both are good though, (TFOW is simply exceptional...) and Blooming Oud will be an easy reach for me. At 40 dollars for a bottle kt really feels like a steal! Thanks Alberto!

Doesn't smell like oud wood to me, but I like it even more. To me this kinda smells similar to prada amber intense without the old woman smell in the opening. It settles down to something like to ADG profumo, but leather/florals instead of incense. This fragrance changes within the first 5 minutes and it stays like that for the duration of its life (7-9hrs). It projects well and I do not go nose blind to it. I would get this and elevated oud from the collection, but the other 2 aren't bad. I would happily pay double the asking price for this fragrance.

This has been sitting well protected in its cardboard box since 1 1/2 year now and boy, did it get better . I have all 4 of them in my collection , even bought some 2and 3 times, as I knew that these would get better over time with maceration. Just wanted to add this to this date base PS: This is a Perfume, not an Eau de parfum, so it's more concentrated Notes on the package: woody floral Bergamot, cardamom, lavender, cistus, cypriol,oud,vetiver, patchouli

The one of the line I just *had* to buy. While VO reminds me of a fresh, lighter version of Encre Noire Sport, EO and MO are both featuring a cucumbery sandalwood note I am personally not too fond of. But BO is something else completely. Leathery, dark, smooth, green, woody and very relaxing. Ingredients list on box: bergamot, cardamom, lavender, cistus, cypriol, oud, vetiver, patchouli.

I find the opening a quite sharp. Quickly settles though towards an elegant balance between spices, wood and more leather the longer it goes on. Would call this elegant in a flowery yet masculine way. Bang for your buck for sure.

I am surprised noone compares it to Versace PH Oud Noir. It's almost exactly the same. Probably lower quality, weird opening, but settles to be very similar

80% similar to Tom Ford Oud Wood but with better performance and one-tenth of the price tag. Safe blind buy imo.

Amazing scent, surprisingly it dries down into a fresh, incensey marine something like ADG Profumo

I've just sold my Versace Oud Noir, because this Zara is the same, but lasts longer

This is primarily a leather fragrance to my nose, so I’m very confused by the Oud Wood comparisons. They both have a lot of cardamom and fake oud, but one ignores the main note of heavily oiled leather to make such a comparison. Don’t buy expecting Oud Wood. Only buy if you like leather fragrances. That said. It’s good for the price. Opens with citrus, chocolatey (and almost cinnamony) wood on skin. Then I get a woody leather on skin (nasty leather on paper) with a nebulous fresh note that could be an aroma chemical version of cardamom. Or some florals (lavender and cistus which Fragrantica forgot) that lead to the “Blooming” name. Not my first choice leather but a solid like. If you’re gonna get one from this collection, get Elevated Oud instead. That one is really an oud fragrance. I’m also confused by the votes for this as a winter scent. All the floral and aromatic aspects make it very suited for warm weather. Maybe spring/fall but def not winter as a first choice. That said, it’s a woody floral so pretty versatile as that combo is the bedrock of men’s perfumes. Final note, this smells somewhat cheap (clearly non natural aroma chemical). So not the best up close. But fine in the air. Sadly, despite producing a gem, Zara decided again to make it a limited run. Hopefully they'll repackage it and sell it again in a few years.

Blooming Oud is very nice: spicy, earthy, leathery, dusty. Grown up, rounded, smooth and sophisticated, it could be a good formal or date fragrance. In the far dry down I get pencil shavings. A very comforting scent.

Love the scent profile though I have similar scents however I wish it was stronger darker and more pungent but nice scent overall will layer it with elevated oud I think they will work nicely together

Just seeing the name Alberto Morillas on the bottle and I knew I had to have it. This time around he’s collaborating with Zara to produce 4 Oud scents and I’m enjoying every single one!! When they are all so good, it’s tough to rank it but I’ll place this ‘Blooming Oud’ at #4 from this collection. I’m actually very surprised this fragrance scored so high here. Simply put the scent is good but the longevity is poor and the sillage is weak. I find this frag more on the leather and spicy side in my humble opinion but with hints of Oud. I’m guessing spraying more would help with the longevity and sillage.

Blooming Oud is my favorite so far with Virtuous Oud. A brighter and more leather-powered take on the amazing Evernyl (oakmoss) x Cashmeran x woody amber x saffron blend you'd know from Oud for Greatness, Haltane etc. The oud note here again most likely made with cypriol oil, saffron (Safranal?) and probably patchouli/Kephalis combo. It could be the most potent one of the collection though Memorable Oud is no less, both have potent woody amber materials. Late drydown smells like spicy and leathery shaving foam. For the price tag, this is a no brainer if the smell is to your liking.

This is fresh confidence in a bottle. Manly af fragrance. I feel sorry for people who didn't buy it and for myself because I didn't buy more.

this one is smoothest of them all, all the notes are well blended and nothing really stands out, solid longevity.
