C4SHMER4N

I tried the three black molecule plastic cubes at a Zara counter. Supposedly they were all filled with an Eau de Parfum concentration. I decided to buy only the one I liked best: C4SHMER4N. I could have also written that it's the only one I may wear occasionally. The overall scent is not complex and could be described as woody, musky, ambery and slightly sweet. It also contains a balsamic vanilla nuance. The three black Zara cubes are all quite synthetic and of little use to me, unless I use them for layering (like food seasoning). For my taste, C4SHMER4N is the most wearable of the three cubes. I will probably have fun pairing it with oud, tobacco or leather scents. When I first tried it, I immediately thought of mixing it with Demeter PipeTobacco scent. Unfortunately, I don't have it at hand at the moment. The synthetic molecules contained in the C4SHMER4N Zara perfume have calming properties. They give off a diffuse spicy, amber and woody musky scent. To these notes, Zara added some bergamot to make the opening fresher and tonka bean for the base note and to sweeten the drydown a little. The fragrance is quite linear. When you spray it on, you notice a nice but short bergamot accord. A moment later, you can perceive peppery nuances together with amber and musk wood notes; they last longer than the opening citrus note. This accord lasts for quite a while. In fact, you can smell this accord for at least half the duration of the drydown. The base note consists entirely of sweet tonka. The fragrance leaves a scent trail of sweet tonka that blends with a more complex musk and ambery wood accord diffused by the synthetic fragrance cashmeran. Longevity is around 4-5 hours with 3 sprays. Sillage is at an arm's length with an average projection of 1 hour. With better performance, more natural ingredients and a nicer blend, C4SHMER4N would be a very desirable perfume. With the current initial formulation and quality, it's more of a curious toy to play with, rather than a true perfume. Even the bottle suggests this. The standout feature of C4SHMER4N is the sweet muskwood and amber accord. The bottle is nothing special and even a bit ugly, although it is practical to hold with one hand. The overly synthetic notes lead to certain fatigue and disinterest over time. I would give this fragrance an overall rating of 6.5 to 7 out of 10.0. I will not be repurchasing this fragrance or any of the other two family members from the Zara Overdose Collection. I could have said "the one I dislike the least" as well. The three of them are quite synthetic and of little use for me, except for layering purposes. For my taste, C4shmer4n is the most wearable of the group, with an agreable ambery woody scent and probably I will have some fun layering it with some oud, tobacco or leather scent. When I first tried it, I immediately thought of blending it with the Demeter Pipe Tobacco fragrance, which unfortunately I don't have right now. The cashmeran chemical ingredients - the synthetic molecules mentiond in the C4shmer4n perfume - exude a diffusive spicy ambery and musky wood scent with smoothing capabilities. To those notes Zara added some bergamot for a fresher opening, and Tonka Bean for the bottom notes and to sweeten the drydown. The fragrance is quite linear and after spraying you experience a nice but brief accord of Bergamot. A moment later you can sense the liberation of peppery spices together with ambery and musky wood notes; they will last quite longer than the opening citrus note. This accord persists for quite a while. Actually you can smell this accord for at least half of the drydown duration. The bottom notes consist solely of sweet tonka. This fragrance leaves behind a scent trail of sweet tonka blended with the more complex smooth musk and amber woody accord comming from the synthetic cashmeran scent agent. It has a longevity of approximately 4~5 hours with 3 sprays and an arm length sillage with 1 hour projection. With a nicer performance, more natural ingredients and a better blending, C4shmer4n would be a very sought after perfume. With the current initial formulation and quality it's more a curious toy to play with, than a real "Eau de Parfum". Even the bottle suggests that. The signature ID from C4shmer4n is the sweet musky wood and amber accord. The bottle is nothing special and it's actually even a bit ugly, although practical to hold with a single hand. The overly synthetic notes cause some fatigue and lack of interest over time. Perhaps is good for layering... I would rate this fragrance with a global 7.5 out of 10.0. I will not buy this fragrance again or any of the other two family members from the Zara "Overdose Collection".

I picked this up the other day at my local Zara store. To be honest I didn’t know what to expect seeing as Zara seems to be obsessed with Invictus, Creed Aventus, and Valentino type scents, and I’m not complaining because I love all of those scents, and it’s easy on my wallet, even if it’s sometimes a synthetic mess. This cologne on the other hand is actually quite beautiful. There isn’t much to this stuff just for those who want to know and are interested. There is not a typical pyramid transition that takes place in the traditional stages. You get citrus, tonka, and cashmere from the opening, mid, and dry down. So however it starts, get used to it, because that’s it. To my nose this is a play on Valentino Uomo, but a softer more synthetic version of it, not the exact same, but it has some vague similarities. I think I paid $25 bucks for a 100ml bottle of this stuff and anyone who I’ve shared my time with seems to always enjoy the smell I bring around. Compliments after compliments keep rolling in. One woman I ran into while waiting in a grocery isle was full of smiles and kept asking me what I was wearing. This is a solid 8/10, and I’d give it a higher railing if there weren’t so many other Zara interpretations of this scent floating around. Think Zara 9.0 without the iris and a little more Tonka, with a splash or Cashmere and that bergamot. I also have to mention the performance. I have to mention that the amount of time this stuff lasts beyond first spray is insane. I get over 12 hours plus, and I got some on my sweater and it’s now been almost 2 weeks later and there is still a strong smell on it. Performance is tremendous for a Zara scent.

I tested all 3 of them since they were only $25 each. They all sadly have little to no longevity, with the exception of C4SHMER4N. Of the 3 releases, C4SHMER4N is the best. Followed by 4MBROX. However, 4MBROX smells like a burst of rubbing alcohol for the first minute then settles very nicely into a beautiful soft musky scent. It lasts for all of 15 minutes though, if that, which sucks because it starts to smell amazing once the rubbing alcohol scent dies off, then just fades away. COR4NOL smells like pine, it reminded me a lot of Christmas. C4SHMER4N is amazing and I've received countless numbers of compliments within the week span that I've had it. A beautiful Tonka Bean dry down. This one however has some type of longevity. When I tried it out it for the day it lasted for about 4 hours before I started getting random whiffs of if afterwards. When i tried it out during a night later in the week it lasted all night. Purchased 3 more afterwards. This is certainly more or an evening scent, for me at least. Reminds me of Pure Wood by Mugler. Warming fall & winter scent. €12,95 for 80ml This is a great value fragrance. Performance is excellent. Not too heavy. After a day in the office I went to the gym and it started projecting again. So Longevity 9+ hours today. Did 3 sprays each side.

Opening is Pure Malt, then it turns to a pure tonka bean with some plushy cashmere feeling in the background, which faintly reminds me of Ambre Cashmere Intense by Nicolai. Love it! Longevity and sillage are great, lasts all day.

I this would be my signature smell if it lasted longer and had more Sillage! If anyone knows a better version of this please let me know.

A soft, silky fragrance that does smell vaguely similar to Mugler’s Pure Malt, as another reviewer has noted. The performance is staggering for a Zara scent – it projects strongly for about two hours, especially if physically active, and I was still able to detect it on my inner forearm eight hours after a single spray. If you like the scent it’s a worthwhile purchase but the synthetic vibe of it could be polarizing for some people.

I saw the page for this perfume here on fragrantica a while ago and was so intrigued to try it. The notes listed are among my absolute favorites, and I've been trying to find a good unisex cashmeran fragrance for a while. I saw it was available at my local Zara and I bought it immediately after trying it on. WOW! what an absolutely incredible fragrance! This is exactly what I wanted for the winter months... It's a warm, fuzzy, fluffy fragrance, with tonka and cashmeran taking the stage and the bergamot making it a little bit more citrusy at the beginning. I am a unisex fragrance kinda gal, and my go to look is jeans and a sweater, so this is absolutely perfect for me. It fits perfectly on my shelf with Stash by SJP, Santal 33, Boyfriend, and Tonka Wood (identical to Bal D'Afrique.) Longevity is very good, projection is soft, but I don't really need a powerhouse fragrance. This is perfect if you're looking for a perfectly balanced unisex fragrance, warm but not choking, sweet but not sticky, citrusy but not sharp, soft but not too powdery. I will definitely stock up, as this is a true keeper. I have 6 boxes of Tonka Wood and I will most definitely buy a couple of these bad boys too. Thank you Zara for giving us incredible fragrances without breaking the bank. ❤️

C4SHMERAN is back!!! One of my favorites from Zara. And now it's even better because you get 80ml instead of 50ml for the same price (12.95 € in Spain) and the bottle is better. Now it's a black rounded bottle. The shape of the bottle is very similar to fragrances like RWA, 9.0, Night Pour Homme and all those but a little bit smaller. The juice is exactly the same as before, maybe the old one was a little bit fruitier on the opening but other than that is the same. Same scent, same drydown, same longevity, same projection. Very sweet and woody. Love the tonka bean in this one and this is the main note in the drydown. A very nice tonka bean. Projection is ok but longevity is great for what you pay. Gourmand Leather has a very very similar longevity/projection actually. You don't have to go heavy on the trigger, 4 or 5 sprays is enough to have a decent longevity. And if you really like Gourmand Leather/Ultra Male then you should definitely try this one. To me they are in the same category even if they smell very different. You never know with Zara, one day is there and the other day is gone. So be quick, go to Zara, test it and if you like it, grab it as soon as you can. Perfect for winter/fall.

This is just about the opening of C4SHMER4N, smelled from a tester strip. The opening of Zara C4SHMER4N smells like overripe fruits that are so overripe, they are brewing into alcohol. It's like bad homemade wine smell, maybe even a bit rotten, sweet, repulsive and at the same time so, so wonderful! Unfortunately I lost my interest after the opening was gone and I didn't want to spray it on my skin. But that opening was something I never expected. It was disgusting and wonderful. I wish I had a big bottle of that opening smell.

I sprayed it on the back of my hand this morning, and I can still smell it some 10+ hrs later! The drydown is very similar to another well know fragrance, namely the old warhorse Cuba Paris Gold. All I get is lavender, lavender and even more lavender. Misleading name.

@hewpo is right,the opening is unpleasant; to me the scent was that of dirty socks. Very unpleasant. It dried down into an indistinct sweet mess. Not that great to my nose. I couldn't recommend it.

30 mins longevity, opens with the casherman smell then turns sweet then its gone, also bottle is cheap plastic box.

This is a straight up clone of Mugler's Pure Malt. At this price point, you mine as well get the real thing.

I see them here on fragrantica as Molecules Collection.....but my box says Overdose Collection on top.
