Captivatingly Paris

Lovely sent. Did not get it from the first try. But so happy that I got a bottle on sale. As it turned out a bit more than just pear and rose, there is something more complex in the mix once perfume opens up. Great light rose for the day. Not overpowering and totally fine to wear it to gym ... office. So happy it doesn’t give me Arab vibes that Delina and other Arab/luxury perfumes do. Not smelling like entrance into Selfridges by the perfume stalls. If you compare it to the London sent from the line this one is more light and fresh feeling. Though London one is also good, surprisingly I like it even though I don’t get the hype about Delina. By the way I don’t get any grandma vibes from it even though it has rose. It feels like a modern perfume with a new spin on the rose. Nothing like the Bulgarian rose extract/essence that my grandmother had.

I just bought this recently while at Disney Springs Zara, and I love it. It’s such a fruity floral but in a mature way. It’s so pretty and to me this doesn’t remind me of another fragrance that everyone keeps mentioning. It’s such a beauty and can be worn both by men and woman. I really love the collection that Jo Malone has done with Zara they are all such beauties and I own a few. Does it last not too lasting but good enough for the price. Sillage is close to skin on me but it is so nice to keep getting whiffs of this on my skin during the day. I will buy more of the city scents and have all in my collection eventually. Zara another winner from you, keep it up!

I can't compare this to any other fragrance, but I can say that it's an easy to wear fruity floral, and I prefer it over the 8 other fragrances in the same line. If you didn't like the medicinal base in Fashionably London, this would be a safer rose fragrance choice from this line. It's not a ground breaking scent, but it's uncomplicated, bright, and lovely, and sometimes that's just what you need in your life. The longevity/projection were average, but I do overspray on skin and clothes. For me, this is backup bottle worthy. Don't blind buy if you don't like pear notes as it's quite dominant.

Wearing this today after having forgotten about it for quite some time. There are a few Zara perfumes that I have found have bettered and deepened with some sitting time, but alas, this is not the case with Captivatingly Paris. I remember the pear being quite obvious when I first bought it, but now it is subtle, and the scent is more powdery and musky than I recall when I first got it, and it isn’t lasting....I have sprayed it on generously 3 separate times and it is only 1:00pm

I love this 30 min in the most, just after the pear settles down. I love this rose, I get the rose from the first spritz and it's gorgeous. Feminine, light, sweet and sexy. Captivatingly Paris. So happy to have the larger 75 ml bottle. The scent is gorgeous. Do know, however, that the silage and projection and longevity aren't long or eternal. Moderate.

What can I say... I love pear and then add the rose and viola!! Amazing rose fragrance, in a light breezy and very enjoyable way. It’s a tad bit on the feminine side but men can certainly pull this off too. Most of the Jo Malones from Zara have been absolutely fantastic, I love this entire ‘Zara Olfactive’ collection... Gotta get them all.

It is beautiful, a nice compilation of rose, pear, and slight musky sweetness. It does smell similar to Givenchy Irresistable, if that were given more floral notes and made to last much longer. Another very well-made floral scent by Jo Malone herself. I could easily see this being someone’s signature scent.

Fresh, sweet pear and rose - I'm in love. I made the mistake of over-spraying when I first got this, not expecting it to be so strong. Good sillage and longevity - backup bottle worthy. Also definite Delina vibes in the drydown.

Love this! Wish it came in a smaller spray for travels. A year round, juicy fruity rose scent. Smells super similar to Delina La Rosèe and the notes match too. Prefer it to Fashionably London!

Just bought the discovery set and this one must be an exclusive because it's the only one that isn't on it. Weird. Maybe to similar to the london one?

this has so much depth for a zara fragrance?? love this a lot. there is something spicy about this. i barely smell the rose personally.

When I bought this perfume and tried it on, it was immediately familiar to me in some way, as if I already had something that smelled similar to it. What bothered me the most is that I couldn't put my finger on what it was that it reminded me of... until yesterday that I set out to take some fragrances out for decluttering. It was right there in front of me: Ginza Ever Bloom by Shizeido. There is definitely a striking resemblance between the two. I tested one on one wrist and the other frag on the other wrist to see how similar they are, and how they differ. To my nose, Zara's perfume is more on the honey side, and Shizeido's more on the powdery side. Their differences are very, very subtle - to the untrained nose, they may as well be the same. Captivatingly Paris's sweetness is heavier, honey-like. It feels viscous when one conjures images of slow moving, thick molasses. Shizeido Ginza Ever Bloom feels viscous as well, but more of a powdery viscosity, if you will. I know this may not make sense because powder is light and airy, but Ginza Ever Bloom is by no means light and airy. Both fragrances are thick, both scents are a good 87% alike, with the difference that this one is honey-like and the one I'm comparing it to is like a honey-powdery-like. Yes, that's it! Zara Captivatingly Paris has zero powderiness to my nose, instead, it's a thick, honeyed (don't get confused, it does NOT smell like honey), sweet fragrance. I hope this paints a picture as to how this smells. It leans toward generic but it's hard to describe.

This fragrance is not something I would usually gravitate towards, but I wanted to add more easy to wear fragrances to my collection. Opens with a strong pear note that isn’t ripe or lush, but fresh and shampoo like. The rose in the opening is very fresh, young, and dewy, but as the fragrance approaches the dry down, it becomes a lot more jammy and candied, but still very subtle. The musk adds a skin musk softness to the fragrance that I really enjoy. Captivatingly Paris isn’t special or unique, but is a compliment magnet and a elegant, girly, inoffensive, and clean scent that I think is appropriate enough to become a signature scent for someone looking for a fragrance that is quiet and delicate. Would be very nice to wear on a spring or summer morning for running errands or going to work when you don’t know what to wear. I think Jo Malone and Zara have much better offerings, but it’s not bad overall. EDIT: I typically wear baby lotion in the winter to keep my extremely dry skin moisturized. I layered this with J&J’s original baby lotion and their CottonTouch lotion and they both elevated the fragrance to a strong for me because they added more character to the fragrance and extended the longevity. The original lotion added some floral and powdery nuances, while the CottonTouch added more musky soft and floral textures to the fragrance. A bit weird, but give it a shot!

Really love this fragrance however it smells totally synthetic and I don't smell any of the listed notes other than a strong synthetic musk. To my nose, I get quite commanding and dense floral and tart fruit accords with the perfect balance of sour and sweetness. It smells the way a fuzzy peach candy tastes with a heavy jammy floral note tossed in the mix. It really is a beautiful and captivating scent and I would recommend it for those 30+. Sillage and longevity are decent. Would not recommend it to those who like photorealistic notes in their fragrances as per Jo Malone's usual style though. You're not going to find that here. You're better off with the Emotions collection if you're looking for photorealistic. This perfume is a stronger, and more synthetic version of Cacharel's Anais Anais Premier Delice, with the latter having a more realistic pear note and no musk. *And whoever is saying the sillage on this is intimate or moderate is either becoming anosmic to it or their skin is just eating up the fragrance. This thing is POTENT. I've had people comment on this perfume 4-5 hours after application who noticed it from at least 7 feet away. So...

I bought this one because it was discounted and I had heard that it resembled Fashionably London a lot. I already have that one, but I like that one a lot, so I definitely felt like having a “flanker”, so to speak, would be something that I would enjoy. In typical Zara fashion, the notes on the box aren’t the same as the notes here on Fragrantica, or on the Zara website. The box lists notes of bergamot, magnolia and cedarwood. I do get the pear most of all, so I imagine all of those notes are in there somewhere. I’d describe it as a pear, floral musky scent. It’s nice and enjoyable, but far from the best Jo Malone/Zara fragrance.

I actually like this more than Fashionably London! Essentially it's a creamy and slightly vanillic (not in a sharp, cloying way) rose. I can't really get an obvious pear note here, so much as just a vague sweet fruitiness. It's a 7.5/10 for me! Projection is soft, and longevity is pretty poor. About 2.5 hours after I applied it to my wrist for testing (2 sprays), I asked someone to sniff and give me their opinion, but they couldn't smell anything. I can still smell something pressing my wrist to my nose. Very linear and pleasant, but not very longlasting, which is similar to zara's usual fragrances.

Ive had this for ovrr 2 years. I would get it out and think, I dont like this. It smells so synthetic and chemical. Tonight I sprayed it on and its a beast. Im an oversprayer, be careful if you have let this sit and mature . Very floral with a citrus kick. I will probably layer it with something to tone it down. If you are bold I think you will get loads of compliments on its own.

If you are interested in this perfume as a dupe of Irresistibile by Givenchy: the difference between them is the same as that between the first glass of a freshly opened champagne bottle and the last half glass after the bottle has been left open for a few hours ( CP). They are similar and both are delicious ,but one is sparkling ( Irresistibile) and the other ( CP is flat.

This is a creamy rose, very linear but very pleasant for what it is - a strawberries and cream rose. This one could be great for layering as it doesn’t change much. Very wearable, pretty and easy to be in, something you can just grab and spray. The scent lingers on your clothes and leaves a lovely subtle creamy rose - if this was a colour it would be light pink.

Sweet pear, beautiful musk and a light airy rose. Feminine. Nice. Pretty. Great quality for the price. I don't usually like rose as I find it quite heavy and mature, but this has a very different kind of rose - light, happy, young and almost watery rose.

At the opening, you can smell pear — the best pear note I’ve ever experienced in a perfume. I don’t detect the rose at all (which is a good thing, since I’m not a fan). It’s pleasant and fresh, but unfortunately it doesn’t last longer than half an hour.

This was so nice, light and feminine, but after a while I just didn't use it anymore and sold it. I kinda regret selling it because it wasn't bad, just boring. I also loved the packaging. It is a bummer that Zara made these perfumes round.

I love perfumes with pear. This smells like kids shampoo and that's why I love it. Very nice fresh, inoffensive and light. It brings backs memories when I was a kid. I will update the reviews when finish the bottle.

Really like this one. Soft, warm rose scent. Pretty long lasting (on me) too, even if it becomes a skin scent after a bit. Can still smell on clothes the next day.

It smells exactly like a perfume my grandma used. As I don't know what it was now this is perfect to recall her. Very feminine, powdery floral.

I tried a couple of these Zara Olfactive perfumes instore, as Jo Malone is the nose behind them, and I enjoyed some of her earlier Zara Emotions creations - the citrus colognes in particular were pretty good. This one is mediocre. Linear and synthetic, it reminds me of fabric conditioner. Inoffensive but utterly unoriginal, nothing about this scent says "Paris" to me. Sweet, juicy pear is the most prominent note, with some aquatic peony emerging after a little while. It becomes musky, with the pear-musk accord remaining until final fade. However, the performance isn't bad, especially in comparison with the Zara Emotions perfumes. Sillage and longevity are moderate, and it is detectable on my skin after several hours. Although it is feminine and inoffensively pleasant, it is uninspiring and possibly took Jo Malone about half an hour to put together. I've smelled much worse, but this is meh. 2/5.

Compared to Fashionably London, which is another rose themed perfume from this city collection, Captivatingly Paris is more creamy, fruity and more leaning to the feminine side. It opens with fresh sweet pear note, juicy and fruity. There is also something powdery, like iris in it. However, the first impression is not so positive, because it smells more like a home cleaning product, quite synthetic. As it develops, rose comes up, and the perfume gets more and more creamy, almost like rose jam. It is sweet but not cloying, still somewhat clean and light. It is a lovely girly perfume. This one makes Fashionably London more spicy, earthy and masculine. The longer it stays on my skin, the more it smells like body cream. It reminds me of the body butter from The Body Shop. The sillage is quite weak, while the longevity is reasonable.

It’s fruity floral. I can’t really discern the rose because this is quite sweet. I wish I could get rose. I think I get why some compare this to Fashionably London. But that one is sweet boozy rose. Paris is a very feminine pretty scent, but this is too sweet for me. Zara perfumes tend to run sweeter than my preferred scent profile. I have only tried one other rose and pear perfume, and Aerin’s Rose de Grasse Pour Filles is elegant. Ethereal, delicate, and soft. Definitely not sugary. That said, the two are very different and should not be compared 1:1. I think Paris has its own place as it’s youthful and pretty. I might try to layer with a soliflore rose.

This is a nice and quite romantic fragrance. There's some tartness from the rose, but mostly it's very fruity, and smells a little bit like shampoo. It's enjoyable but it's nothing speacial about it. Quite generic, but easy to wear. Longevity is good though! around 7 hours on my skin.

this perfume broke a record for me as the fastest fragrance to empty the whole bottle in a matter of months.....it does not last long which prompted me to overspray,smells fine, very powdery but something smelling cheap in the notes which i can't figured out which note......

Boring, generic, really nothing special, but lasts quite long. There are much much better Zara fragrances

This was my first female fragrance by Zara and it was very underwhelming. I made a mistake of not doing a test on my skin before purchasing and I should have gone for the 40ml, even though it was very much cheaper to get the 100ml. It opened to a refreshing scent of pears, with a subtle rose scent. However... the dry down of this scent smells absolutely revolting. I have been trying to use it intermittently to see if I would like the scents (especially the dry down). Alas, it smells sickly sweet and I am not a fan at all.

I really enjoy the rose in JM's London but have almost gone through my bottle so I decided to buy Paris as a possible replacement. Paris is quite boring unfortunately! Very synthetic and not at all a yummy, luxurious rose. The pear turns a bit playdoh like on me and the musk is chemically. Occasionally I get wafts of a vomit smell, has anyone else experienced this? I regret not repurchasing London which is gorgeous. Bad blind buy and very cheap smelling.

Save your money, you don’t need this unless it is gifted to you. Boring scent and I don’t think anybody would make this a signature scent. It’s forgettable. I blind bought this during lockdown in my country, testers were not available so I just bought it off the shelf, I mean it’s by Jo Malone, what could go wrong? Errrrrrr...Sorry Zara/JM I’m not a fan of this one

A big no no for me. I was about to buy it blindly as my local Zara did not have a tester for a long time, but I'm glad I didn't. It's so sweet in an artificial way I can't stand it. My absolute favourite from this range is Fashionably London. This one might be my least favourite, but I didn't try all of them.

Let me preface this by saying that each fragrance has its own appropriate context and occasion. Don't let the opinions of critics and snobs prevent you from experiencing a fragrance for yourself, as they may not fully understand or appreciate the intended purpose of that particular scent. I may not have initially thought to purchase this had I gone with the opinions of others, but I’m glad I picked it up. For what this bottle offers, it fits perfectly as an everyday affordable and unobtrusive alternative (to maybe PDM Delina.) While some may find it mundane or unoriginal, I personally appreciate its simplicity and clean, yet feminine nature. It’s the type of scent that allows me to smell good and feel confident throughout the day without doing too much. Not every occasion and situation calls for an obnoxious beast mode or unique scent. Captivatingly Paris comes in handy for everyday tasks such as running errands or going to the gym. I love when I discover “second skin” types of scents that are elegant, and easy to wear. For the price point, this is a decent juice.

I'd add to what d_silent_one wrote: Captivatingly Paris (in the top and mid-notes) also has a sweet-tartness to it. I have never sniffed the actual Delina/Exclusif, so I don't have a comparison there. I also don't like BR540; to my nose, I got a distinct dryer sheet / Band-Aid (plaster, if you're in UK) smell, which I couldn't get past. But, this Zara "Paris" fragrance is definitely tart (which works on my individual skin) for at least 3 hours, with moderate projection. The musk (and something else that I can't define) holds this fragrance around for a good 3-4 hours total (maybe more) before even considering needing to re-apply. It's very nicely done.

At first I said that this was not a dupe for Givenchy Irresistible, but it is. The Delina comparison is not true, this is nothing like it! However, this smells like my two favorite fabric softeners mixed together, Downy and the yellow Suavitel. It projects and lasts long. With this perfume, you can trick people into thinking that your laundry skills are amazing. It has amazing silage and longevity! For the price, I am shocked that I didn’t have to reapply. Make sure to apply on your clothes so that the fragrance remains very prominent throughout the day. 6+ hours on the skin Several days on clothes. The masculine and feminine can both wear this.

I LOVE this perfume. It is beautiful and elegant. On Oil Perfumery.com they make their impression of this in an oil roll on perfume and it is wonderful and only costs $15. It smells identical. I use it to top up and to layer with the perfume to make it last. But I think the perfume lasts just fine. I also have the lotion to layer with also. I also have another oil perfumery that is the impression of Chanel Chance Eau Tendre that also smells identical and lasts a very long time. You guys need to check it out!

No offense but oh man... Paulina Schar on YouTube compared this to the exquisite Delina Exclusif... this is the most boring and basic smell that Zara has created, in this line... Just a basic fresh rose, pear and musk with possibly some citruses at the top. Fashionably London is leagues better than this. Don’t blind buy, it’s so disappointing.

This is an absolutely beautiful fragrance. They say it’s a dupe for Givenchy’s Irresistible but I had that and actually returned it. Something in it made me feel sick, I prefer this version much better. It’s absolutely stunning and lasts a VERY long time. The notes are very accurate to what this smells like. Very feminine and captivating.

Not unisex, a strong floral scent, reminds me of other floral perfumes I've had before, it's a very familiar scent altho it doesn't exactly match any of the scents I have. It's just a bit generic. If you like romantic floral scents this one is for you.

Definitely a dupe for Irresistible by Givenchy (this is heavier on the rose to my nose). I wouldn't say it has much to do with any of the Delinas though. Performance is decent (for the price) and I'm glad to have this in my collection now.

It is a nice fruity floral, Pear is noticeable and sweet, good for summer and spring seasons, not my fav from the line as I don't love pear centric scents...moderate performance

So boring. Extremely weak performance and smelled like nothing. Returned immediately. It's possible I'm anosmic to it because so many are enjoying this.

I cannot tell you how much I love this smell. Very beautiful and feminine and soapy clean and fruity scent.

This smells exactly like the discontinued See by Chloe perfume I used to wear about 10-15 years ago.

Literally irresistible by givenchy
