Cashmere Musk

At last the Zara Musks 24 are listed. I don’t find these musks particularly musk like but all is not lost as they are not generic floral fruity Zara either. This means they remain inoffensive and office safe without that crashingly dull disappointing juice that smells like everything in a cheap mall store (no shade, there are gems in those stores if you search hard). Of the three I purchased, this is very gourmand with quite a buttery popcorn note. It’s not sophisticated BUT it’s not too sweetly juvenile. It’s a slight fragrance on me. That reflects in the modest price point. The challenge is to get the right spray ratio. Too much overspray and it risks exposing its super synthetic underbelly which can veer plasticky. Too light a spray and it’s gone. Done right it’s popcorn for about an hour then a vaguely musky Tonka, not too sweet. I didn’t get Sandalwood. Simple, really nice but...it’s a big but, it might be something you go off once the novelty has passed. It’s not a lot of money for a soft sweet fragrance, so I don’t mind having to work a little to get the wear right. It’s nothing jaw dropping but the absence of a random sugared haribo jelly fruit vibe is very very welcome. Spring, summer, autumn proof. I will have it to hand for day in day out and enjoy it 😁

I love it but this is genuinely weird. First spray you get smacked in the face with an overwhelming buttery popcorn. It's incredibly realistic for the first couple of minutes but it changes quickly. Morphing into a very sweet butterscotch vanilla. Eventually ending up with a sort of woody vanilla ice cream vibe. Truly takes you on a journey over the course of minutes and hours. The name of this is so strange though. Cashmere musk? Maybe as a faint whisper in the background after you've been on a rollercoaster at an amusement park where you were covered in butterscotch sauce and then dipped in a buttery popcorn bucket! Cashmere musk should be renamed Carnival Bacchanal or Caramel corn Explosion. :) The final product is pleasant and inoffensive imo... But this must surely be a love it or hate it kind of thing at least at first spray. I can imagine many people being outright disgusted by this. It's intense, super gourmand, very sweet and buttery/lactonic/creamy. Does not last very well or project but that might not be the worst thing given how sweet and buttery this is. This would be a terrible blind buy x)

literally just smells exactly like the sol de janeiro cheirosa 71 100%. okayyy so i smelled this today and immediately picked it up to buy it. this was like one of the first times i ever went into zara and actually liked a perfume. this and the linen musk are awesome. it can get a little sickly to me because of the popcorn note which is why i would only layer this. dont be fooled by the musk name and note because barely any of that is present. very popcorn and ice cream like in the opening and then it just dries down nicely sweet and powdery to me. dont know where people are getting cheese from? lol maybe like brunost which is sweet brown cheese haha. DEFINITELY only recommend this to gourmand lovers. all in all i enjoyed the zara musk line as a whole and it was the first time i wasnt disappointed by the zara perfume section. just give it a sniff if you visit zara!

Really beautiful comforting fragrance, perfect for the transition between late summer and autumn! I was worried the popcorn note would be very synthetic and come off cheap smelling as I read somewhere that someone said Cheetos.... I don’t get that at all! I guess it depends on how the fragrance mixes with your skin, on me it’s warm, soft, sweet and cozy! I sprayed this on this morning and after 8 hours I could still detect whifs of it! I would say this has good lasting power and moderate projection so for the price it’s an absolute winner! Zara really now how to do perfume

It's an odd one. It does smell like popcorn, but also, in the best way possible, like dog feet. It gives me a sense of comfort and peace I associate with my dog. It fades into savoury-sweet musky tonka, but it's certainly not a mass pleaser, so I'm not sure I'll wear it in public on its own. It's perfect for a cosy afternoon in. Quite unique, I wasn't expecting this from Zara! Edit: my husband loves it and doesn't get any popcorn or dog feet. It smells very cashmery to him

Ok, so, here's a little secret: this on its own, although magnificently photorealistic, smells like pop-cron. EXACTLY like pop-corn. It is not deep or mysterious, it is just a stunningly realistic pop-corn. BUT if you have a vanilla or almond perfume, do try and layer those together for the tastiest combo you've ever smelt. I layered with my beloved Zara Femme Winter today and I was IN HEAVEN. My colleague instantly picked on it and said she liked it! Superb!

Blind bought this and am impressed by this Zara fragrance! It is kinda like a grown up version of a Le Monde Gourmand scent. The opener has the photorealistic smell of the "butter" that I generously pump on a big bucket of movie theatre popcorn. Then it turns into a sweet warm hug that feels like I'm falling asleep on a cozy couch while watching a rom-com on a Friday night. I'm pretty sure this will turn into an easy go-to/office scent for me.

Ordered in sales at riddiculous 9,99€. Grabbed two bottles. For me it's a very very pleasing warm sweet popcorn with toffee caramel topping. Also sweety Woods. I don't get any of Cheetos or sweated feet in it, But I think It goes with your own skin ph. If your ph is acid, possibly you get the cheesie note. Absolutely adorable and unique, love It and for 9,99 It's an absolute vargain. Good longevity (more than many other expensive parfums)

I feel like some Zara perfumes are way overhyped. The BR540 and Libre clones made me hate both the originals and the clones. But this is my favourite from them. Too bad it’s limited edition. My only complaint is that the Cheetos feet smell lingers on clothing for a while after spraying. It develops beautifully on skin though. No trace of that funky note

Behold! This scent is the best popcorn note I have ever smell! Buttery and not sweet mixed w musk just keep it so clean and so warm and cozy!!!! Try it with Zara Merino musk ( yes that pachouli) it’s just like a perfect tango!!!! And it’s great for layering w anything, just get creative! Your’re welcome!

I tested it several times at the Zara store because I wanted to see if the smell changes on me. I don't smell popcorn but rather cake and pastries. It is very sweet and comforting and quite long lasting. I don't detect any musk either. It's about 20 euro now but I would rather wait for a sale/discount.

Is already discontinued!!!!!! I CAN NOT BELIEVE you zara????? Why? I tried to buy back up.....but nooooo.....i hate them for this! I treasure 'sweet pastry in Paris' now i have to treasure this too....Is the lightest buttery gourmand ...i love it.

Wow! I think it’s really cool that Zara did this. It’s definitely not a mainstream kind of thing, and I bet that it’s definitely going to be discontinued the moment that they run out of the stock, because let’s be honest, this isn’t going to be one that people will gravitate to, or be wearing on a daily basis. But I really do get a kick out of this scent. The moment that you spray it, you get that really realistic popcorn note straight away. I sprayed it on a tester strip and I didn’t even have time to bring it to my nose to smell the popcorn. It was crazy realistic, really making me wonder how you could ever pull this off as a fragrance. It quickly dries down to a more creamy, cashmere, buttery musky kind of scent. I like it, it’s not the kind of scent that I would wear going out, but to be cozy at home, sure! Could be a cute and cozy bedtime scent, or chilling at home scent. It seems to be pretty close to the skin, which is probably good in this case. You wouldn’t want to be projecting popcorn, after all.

I’ve had this in my possession for a few weeks now , and I will say that initially , I get the “cheese” like smell that’s being described in some of the reviews. HOWEVER, after allowing this to sit for a couple of wks , I now get a caramelized popcorn smell with a bit of tonka / white chocolate/ and a tinge of vanilla. Personally , it’s not that bad , and I think this fragrance would be best layered with other fragrances. I do see the comparison to SDJ 71 which is my favorite in comparison to this one.... But Zara’s cashmere musk is still decent in my opinion. I also asked my mom to smell this on my arm once I first received it and she literally laughed at me when I told her that it smelled like cheese. She told me that to her it just smelled like something soft and sweet. lol. I guess we’re definitely all different in senses. All in all , I give this a 6 out of 10.

I can't believe Zara has already pulled this fragrance from their website! I bought it at launch, in early August and initially did not care for it at all. It was screechy and odd. I decided to let it sit and mature for over a month. Now it's simply cozy and lovely. It's a unique perfume that opens with a warm, buttery kettle-cooked popcorn, salty sweet. As it develops, the heart reveals a warm cashmere wood and soft, powdery musk. Finally, the fragrance settles into a warm and vanillic tonka bean with a creamy sandalwood. It sits close to the skin- cozy, inviting and soft. It's not a very strong perfume, it's one you wear for yourself more than anything. I'm really enjoying it!

I didn't like this perfume the first time I tried it. there was something I didn't know that repelled me. but as the weather got colder, I gave it another chance. I liked it in an unusual way, even though I didn't experience this feeling very much. My friends at school made similar comments. I think it's a love it or hate it perfume. cashmere and tonka are my favorite notes. I advise you not to buy it without trying it. I hope my review was useful for those who are thinking of buying.

I am a gourmand fanatic and own all the usual suspects, so trust me when I tell you, this is a soft, delicious, easy to wear vanillic gourmand with the popcorn twist. I don't smell anything animalic in it at all. If it has a fault, it is that it is not very potent and can be sprayed liberally. I consider this a spray and go scent far easier to wear than many of the pricier vanilla based gourmands in this genre. For the price, it is a bargain.

Really sweet scent of popcorn on my skin, I wore it during the summer when i knew zero information about perfume seasons. But it was nonetheless a nice and soft experience. - please please bring it backkkkkk

Smells like butter cookies and popcorn, it's very warm and VERY realistic popcorn ! the lush one "LTGTR" wasn't that realistic imo.

5 seconds of popcorn in the opening, a little linger of like a sweet cheese?? or something then dries down into a lovely warm, gourmand, milky caramelly powdery smell. hard to describe but i actually do like it, the little cheese whiff scared me a bit but its much better on dry down, definitely a love or hate scent

Opening is very heavy and I didn't like it at all but the dry down is soo beautiful and is has a very beautiful sweetness

I am so sad right now.. I love love LOVE gourmands and although reading these comments about some people getting cheese or cheetos smell from this I really believed I was going to be one of those who doesn't, especially since I love Cheriosa 71. So I blind bought it anyway since my city didn't have this to sample in store. Unfortunately I AM one of those who get the cheese smell in this one 🧀😔 I just sprayed it though but I'm already sensing that it could actually settle into something nice, I'm just not sure I'll happily spray this on and be able to "get through" the cheese phase without getting really turned off every time.. 💀 I'll let it chill on a shelf for awhile. Perhaps the cheesy note will tone down and the caramel will take over then🤞🏻🌟 UPDATE: Been letting it chill for about 10 months and unfortunately all I get is cheese 🥲 It will need to find a new home.

I ordered it online without smelling it as I trusted the notes, but on my skin, it has this weird combo of popcorn, which is super sweet and then cheese. Where is the cheese even coming from? :D Gave it to my little niece, and on her, it just smelled sweet.

I was so confused why a perfume named Cashmere Musk would smell like burnt sweetened popcorn. It also was a bit repulsive like others said, and the repulsiveness didn't go away after a while so it's a nope for me.

This smells like raw meat! You know when you walk into a butcher, and there's raw meat everywhere? That smell! Or when you eat salami. It smells like that. I see other reviewers here describe it as "cheese (feet)" smell, but to me, it's definitely raw meat/salami. Quite bizarre! I have never had a perfume smell anything like this. I think it's the popcorn note that clashes awfully with my skin chemistry or something. YIKES! To be fair though, it's very warm weather right now, so I'll try it again when it's cooler, maybe the popcorn note works out differently then?

Tried it in store. On paper it smelled quite unique, but pleasent. On skin, absolutely revolting cheese feet. Really, the pop corn accord smelled much more like Fonzies than pop corn. I had to spray all the strongest fragrances I found at Zara on it to neutralize it. Maybe it is my skin chemistry's fault, but I find this perfume really horrible. Try it on your own skin before buying it.

Smells absolutely disgusting from first spray until it dries down. It’s give off the scent of stale cheese popcorn which is literally revolting. I don’t know anyone who would want to walk around smelling like this

... this smells horrible. I was really looking forward to this collection but all of them were disappointing - with Cashmere Musk being the worst one. It reminds me of moldy food or a musty room. A miss for me.

I was so excited for this and it is literally repulsive. Smells like soggy cereal, butter, or a platter of meat and cheese that’s been left out in the sun. Nasty

Smells horrible, like cheesey popcorn

Middle and dry down is so, so lovely. Zara can do cashmeran so well, and here it is nicely paired with creamy woods, tonka and musk, but unfortunately I am in the group with those that smell bacon and stale cheese on the top notes. The pop corn note is there, loud and clear in the opening, but so is that butter salt, plus almost gone bad cheese note. I was hoping this would be part of that rare breed of "animalic gourmands", as I call them (think of gorgeous Dialogue with Venus by Guillaume Paris, a mix of gourmand, musk and salty notes, on a base of milk that has a touch of light, stale skunk), but alas...Cashmere Musk was a mess on me. I sprayed it with abundance on a very hot day and I was so embarrassed to walk in a crowd. I am a lover of animalic fragrances, I am no stranger to the strongest of civet, castoreum and the likes, but this was just an unpleasant smell, there was no design in it, no grace. I will try again, and update for sure, maybe it will morph in to something good in autumn. I think Merino Musk is the best from the collection.

this is straight up popcorn. if you layer and spray the sol de janeiro 71 with this one you will literally smell like popcorn whole day and it will stay on your clothes for weeks until the next wash. to me this is a less nauseating smell than sol 71. but they are literally twins and identical. i think teenagers would adore this combo. i never wear it because it smells so funny to me not necessarily in a bad way, it’s just funny. it smells like a movie theater haha! the bottle is so pretty though

I was expecting something extremely polarizing based on reviews, but it is actually quite mild and cute. Its starts with popcorn blast and half an hour later it evolves into caramel,tonka and sandalwood combo. And thats it. There is nothing unusual or weird about it, just a solid gourmand with a popcorn twist. My only complain is its silllage, its very quiet, maybe too quiet for this type of scent. Otherwise its a solid release, others from this line are also quite good

This doesn’t even smell like a perfume. To me it’s popcorn, then quickly cheese feet for some seconds, then popcorn again and maybe an hour after spraying it smells like warm milk with honey that was heated in the microwave. Almost bizarre. Best believe I bought and already heavily used it :D I think it’s the most interesting perfume I’ve ever come across

Took me by surprise! Wow! Zara really makes me think why do bring brands charge hundreds of pounds for perfumes when this is possible at what £15? Little stunner. It is unique, sweet and powdery. Sweet sweet soft musk, I personally don't know any other scent that smells like this. Has a butter caramel popcorn note to it 😋

Today I tested Cashmere musk. The opening note is a very strong, chemical (mess) popcorn note. Not appealing to me. After a while the popcorn note was gone and then I smelled something sweet and fruity, it reminded me of All about Eve by JOOP! and Orange by Hugo Boss. This lingers for quite a while.

I just ordered this as it is back in Zara and ON SALE. It seems quite unique and judging by the comments, sought after. I'll leave a review as soon as I receive it.
