Cherry Smoothie 2022

Zara fragrances are generally pretty decent budget fragrances and you get what you pay for. They are usually pleasant, reminiscent of popular fragrances, but pretty poor performing. But there are always a couple of releases that are gems...beautiful fragrances with solid performance. Cherry Smoothie is one of the latter. It seems to have been inspired by TF Lost Cherry, but is still it's own fragrance. Lost Cherry is a boozy cherry liqueur, but Cherry Smoothie lacks that booziness and is more cherry pie filling...tart, sweet, syrupy and delicious. The opening of Cherry Smoothie is not great, it's a bit sour and astringent. Thankfully that opening doesn't last. It fades away in 2-3 minutes revealing a tart, juicy cherry dessert that smells far more natural than I expected. It doesn't smell like a fresh ripe cherry, but cherries poached in a lightly spiced syrup. I expected this fragrance to be a sugar bomb, but was pleasantly suprised that the sweetness is balanced quite nicely by a little bit of depth, richness and from the plum, resin and vanilla/tonka. The almond is pretty elusive to me, I don't really smell any nuttiness, I am a little disappointed because I love the scent of almond, but Cherry Smoothie is still beautiful without it. Cherry Smoothie is much more feminine than Lost Cherry which is more unisex leaning feminine, Cherry Smoothie is fully feminine to my nose. I find it an ageless fragrance, any age that wants to smell like a scrumptious cherry dessert will love this. For me this is a casual daytime fragrance that I am most inspired to wear in cooler weather. It's fun and playful and not something I would choose for a more serious occasion. This fragrance has really solid performance, it lasts all day, at least 10 hours. The projection is moderate, reaching around arms length, maybe just a little beyond for about 4 hours, after that it stays closer to the skin. I have worn it all day and still been able to smell it lightly on my skin the next morning. I like the presentation. The bottle is simple, not really anything special, but nice.The box it comes in is really cute though. Much nicer than I would expect for a fragrance at this price point. Cherry Smoothie is great value, one of Zara's gems and I am happy to see it has been kept around for more than a minute. I have even considered getting a back up bottle even though I really don't need to.

In perfumery, the cherry accord is the cherry accord. It doesn't matter what brand it is, all cherry scent is the same. What distinguishes a cherry fragrance from another is the supporting notes added to give it extra dimension. With that said, I don't think this is comparable to Tom Ford's Lost Cherry (TFLC) or Maison Alhambra's Lovely Cherie (MALC) at all. What differs TFLC from MALC is that in TFLC, the cherry is backed up by additional sour cherries, bitter almonds and nothing more - so it simply smells like real photorealistic cherries with all its tart, sour, earthy harshness. MALC's cherry OTH is supported by citrus which gives it a "boozy" quality. MALC is also much more blended than TFLC so it's more "perfume-y" while TFLC's notes are more distinct. Zara's Cherry Smoothie is closer to the latter. While the almond note here is more pronounced than it was in MALC, during initial spray there was a stray citrus/fruit note. The cherry note here is also 'creamier' than in TFLC and MALC by the addition of milky vanilla. That's where the smoothie part comes from. Once the citrus disappears and Cherry Smoothie dries on skin you're left with a 'creamy' cherry+almond combo. So it has elements of both those other more renowned cherry fragrances yet still treads its own path. But the reason anyone is reading these comments is because they want to know if this is a good dupe of the very trendy (and very expensive) Tom Ford. I think it gets close. About 80% or so. >2hrs later, the scent is down to the unmistakable vanilla+tonka bean combo. >Amazingly, this frag has lasted 8 hrs on my skin. I was in bed as well. Scent is still that vanilla+tonka combo. I don't think it changed much while I was asleep. Nose on skin, I can still smell it w/ no effort. I think this may get to 10hrs. >10 hrs in the vanilla+tonka is still there and hasn't diminished one bit. Now I'm thinking this is going to last half a day.

I shall soon review it, but here is a brief comparison between old edition and the new reformulation in the 30ml format: The new edition is more chemical, more synthetic. The cherry is a black cherry kind (what in Italy we call "amarena"), wich is different from the pure cherry this had before. In the new version it is more like a black cherry lollipop, before (pink cap packaging) it was a canned cherry, less candy like and more true to the fruit. New version is less syrupy, but more boozy, more like an amaretto liquor; the pink cap bottle had such a beautiful hawtorn...that is now toned town, so the doll head effect is less pronounced (consider that this version, the pink cap one, was a cousin of Mukhallat by Montale in terms of style, doll head effect, and intensity of the balsam/resins). The almond in the new is more amaretto like, the old had a superior almond, that was both nutty, bitter and sweet. In the new version the perù/tulù balsam is very light, the old one had it strong and much balmy. At least the tonka remained the same as did the plastic/waxy effect (which I generally enjoy a lot). They destroyed it. I still bought a bottle of the new but it is too sweet and cloying now...too childish; before it was still a very sweet cherry/almond/balsam combo but it was really well executed and nuanced, especially for its price, the doll head and play doh effect so well done...in a mature way, in a wearable way. And it costed much less...15,90 € for a 100ml, now it is 12,90 € for a 30ml. It is still the same scent, but undressed of everything that made it complex, wearable and worth nothing. I will leave my new bottle to macerate a bit and update my review for further consideration. I should cherish the old one with the pink cap.

It's a blind but and I don't regret it at all. It's the type of fragrance that as soon as it becomes popular will disappear from shelves. I was almost dissuaded by the bad reviews but sometimes I don't know what people are expecting from a low price perfume... And yet, this one has exceeded any expectation. On my skin it opens with a cheeky cherry, strong, scandalous, slightly sour cherry, like that on those OG yogurts in which you had to mix a compote from the bottom with a almost unsweetened vanilla yogurt, as you were mixing you would discover a macerated, sweet and natural cherry smell mixed with the slight sweetness of the yogurt and a hint of vanilla... the opening is just like that. The almond is there too, slightly bitter like the actual skin of a fresh cherry. After a few minutes the cherry will settle down but remains there, more moderate but slightly sweeter along with the other fruity notes, and it won't go away, which is surprising. I really don't get the cough syrup smell at all, and we all know it has to be with our pH and not the fragrance. That strong sweetness will remain with the same strength for about 3 hr. On the clothes it can linger for another 3 hr easily. The dry down is still cherry with a syrupy vanilla mixed, no offensive at all, today is very hot and I don't find it too sweet for a warm day. It really cheers you up, or should I say cherrys you up (I'm sorry, I had to do it). The final duration on the skin is of about 5 to 6 hours which is very acceptable, once again, for a low-cost perfume. I would say it's a safe blind buy IF you like gourmands. I think is perfect for layering and Vanilla Cake by Montale is the first that comes to mind. Totally worth, I'm buying a backup because we all know Zara.

I bought this today after poo-pooing this for months. I have been wearing Lost Cherry by Tom Ford for two months now, loving it. Spraying it liberally in the best points - behind my ears, chest, shoulders, etc. I love it and did go to Zara, to try out Cherry Smoothie and thought very clearly - NO. Not the same, the Zara was cheap and flat and just a shell of the TF. Wrong. Oops. I make mistakes and I made one today but have since corrected myself. I had been testing Cherry smoothie on the back of my hand, my wrist, on the wrong places. But today I was perfume-less and I went into Zara and grabbed the Cherry Smoothie and there was only a wee tiny bit left in the tester. I sprayed whatever I could into my shirt, onto my skin, not on my clothes. And the WHOLE DAY - I am smelling the exact same smell as my (once beloved but NO more) TF Lost Cherry - wow Mr. Ford. You are really making a lot of money off of people like me aren't you? I hope you enjoy your Yacht parties while they last but whoever put together Cherry Smoothie from Zara - you're one hard working bunch aren't you? You little geniuses. Kudos. And Cheers! Meet you at MY Yacht party. Mr. Ford is no longer on the guest list. Zara Cherry Smoothie, at least to me, lasts longer than LC by the one who shall remain unnamed now. And I literally only had two half a sputter of a sprays - since the tester bottle was nearly done. Spray this one on your hot spots. I know what TF LC smells on me, I've been wearing it regularly for two months. On me, it lasted two/three hours tops. Loved the smell but come on. Today, I bought Cherry Smoothie and finally I get the same smell (to me this this is the same smell, ok? It's exactly the same) but it LASTS. Test both before you buy!!

Ok I needed to see what the hype was about. It is said that it is a dupe for TF Lost Cherry. Everytime I went on the Zara site it was sold out in minutes of my notification that it was back in stock. So I proceeded to look on other sites where I could find it for a NORMAL price point and I did! I finally got it yesterday and before bed I drenched myself in this fragrance to see what the hype is truly about, was it like TF LC or was it a watered down version. Well, here are my thoughts.......at first it was a very watery LC on me. I thought who could call this a LC dupe, what were they thinking??? OMG, I got taken again by the belief it was. Then around a 1/2 hour later it really settled into a beautiful soft cherry almond plum scent and it stared to shine beautifully. I fell in love! This morning I could still smell it on my pjs and wondered as I woke up what smelled so good, “what had I put on before bed, because I’m in love” then I remembered. In the dry down the cherry goes hiding behind the almond and the almond comes out to shine with the plum . Heliotrope and vanilla also come to the for front and it turns into a beautiful nutty floral on me! I am surprised that this from Zara turnout to be so nice!! I’m glad I got it and probably will purchase a back up. Now as for a dupe of TF LC it’s about 80 percent there at least on me and my opinion. I do recommend this if you are into this type of scent and the longevity is truly descent. At this point I can not speak on the sillage, because my husband didn’t mention it this morning lol. Anyway this is definitely a nice one from Zara and worth the normal price on their website!!! 8/10

This fragrance starts simple like bitter almonds essence but after 5 to 10 minutes it turns into something beautiful, nostalgic, and yummy!.. it's a very realistic blend of pastry almonds extract + soft sweet vanilla + cherry juice in the background 🥧🍦🍒 The almonds is strong in the opening only and then the creamy vanilla are become more prominent on the skin while the cherry stays present in the background for a while... On clothes it smells more like cherry juice which is more pronounced & VERY long-lasting ...it feels as if you submerged your clothes in cherry juice..think of Snapple cherry juice or the cherry drink carton that comes with a straw on the side ..very nostalgic smell of the simple cherry juice... lasts all day long on clothes... it's decent and the quality is good for the price. Performance?...projects 3+ hours .. on the skin it lasts 8+(mostly creamy floral and vanilla).. the cherry note lasts very long on clothes 10+ H with mild projection all day long.. so if you want more cherry spray more on clothes. Versatile? All year round ..any time ...any occasion...it's more feminine but I think men can comfortably layer it...anyway I like the scent I don't care! Blind buy safe .. 1ooML 29$ ... I feel like this could be an alternative for those who cannot afford Tom Fords Lost Cherry, but I do not believe it to be a copy of it. Lost Cherry is much more syrupy preserved cherries, with an intense focus on liquor, where as Cherry Smoothie is jammy, with the undertones of balsam giving it a smoky sensuousness. I would not call it a fresh cherry, as with Escadas Cherry in Japan or Cherry in the Air, as those feel juicy and freshly picked from the cherry tree. Cherry smoothie is more like dark cherries that are plump to the point of bursting with juice, and have been given time to ripen to their full depth of flavour. The almond lends a bitterness that cuts through the sweetness, allowing the perfume to maintain its gourmand status whilst remaining mature smelling. The tonka also adds depth, and reigns in the balsam, mellowing it out so that it does not dominate the perfumes overall scent. This sweetness, like some say, could be cloying, but I think it very much depends on both skin chemistry and how heavy you like your perfumes to be. If you enjoy light fruity florals, this probably isn’t for you, but for those who like perfumes that command a room and are bold, I would suggest trying this.

I actually didn't understand why this perfume got so much hate, I find this perfume to be beautifully crafted. In the beginning, yes, it starts a little too alcohol-ish with a hint of children cough syrup but it fades in about 15-20 seconds. It blooms into a beautiful gourmand scent, that if I really have to describe this as, is like a freshly-baked cherry cookie. After a few minutes I sensed a hint of spice and I suppose that's from the Peru Balsam (?) anyway I sensed it but the cherry game is still going strong. It settled as a beautiful cherry pie filling in my skin and my family and friends love it. A perfect Christmas scent. Truly yummy. Longevity in my skin, is surprisingly long-lasting. At first I judged the sillage as a medium because I don't find any scent trail in this but it turns out that my nose is the problem, because with only 3-4 sprays my friends can strongly smelled this (in a good way) so yes definitely a steal for the price point. I was just sad that I couldn't smell this as strong as how my friends can smell. I hope Zara keeps this permanent, because I'm considering to use it as my daily drive replacing Zara Gardenia.

This is so fun and delicious and sweet! It literally makes my mouth water when I smell it. It smells EXACTLY like those Haribo cherry gummy lollies🍒🍒🍒 like a spot on scent of those lollies. I don’t know if this is appealing to everybody, but to me all I can think is YUM! Now in comparison to other cherry fragrances like TF lost cherry, Kayali lovefest and Navitus venom of love, this doesn’t smell like any of those perfumes to my nose. ( neither do the 3 mentioned smell like each other). Cherry smoothie is much brighter, juicier and has that gummy lolly vibe to it. Also, yes this definitely has a synthetic vibe to it, but I’m not complaining because for the price of 100ml it’s a very pleasant scent. The longevity on this is decent for the price it lasts a good 3-4 hours on my skin, but the sillage on this is actually quite strong and people will be able to smell you. It’s definitely a compliment getter and for the price you definitely can’t go wrong with this one if you love cherry scents.

This is really quite good. But smoothie? Nope, don ́t get that. I have read all the reviews here and am surprised that merely one person mentions the smokiness of this perfume! To me it's like nice wood burning next to a huge batch of dark cherry marmalade, vanilla pod and bitter almond. Is it the bitterness from the almond that gives the smoky vibe or is it the peru balsam or tonka? I have only ever liked smokiness from Serge Lutens perfumes so this is REALLY nice surprise. I smell a more realistic cherry than in all the La Petit Robe Noirs. It's a bit like the cherry in Mancera Wild Cherry, but that one is a less dark cherry, it's more citrusy floral with a patchouli backbone. I am happy to have two cherry fragrances that are very good, but still differ. Zara Cherry Smoothie is quite seductive in its early 90ies smoky night club style smell: Booze, maraschino cherries and tons of smoke. That's hot! Edit: Yikes, what was I thinking? VILE!

This is a bomb cherry and a cherry bomb! It is no doubt a gourmand at first sniff and is not subtle, which I love and suits my personality in the sense that it is not subtle. Along with cherry I do get a creamy notes like ice cream and a bit of yogurt but not a bitter yogurt. There is also the intoxicating smell that comes through from the heliotrope. It isnt a mature scent and it makes me dream of a fantasy world of candyland and unicorns. This is a beautiful and welcome exception to my more mature perfume preferences. This can be easily layered with other fragrances which I do by spraying Cherry Smoothie on the bottom half of my body and my Tom Ford woody and leathery scents on the top portions of my body. The sweet wafts up to greet me as it mixes with the woody/leathery notes, delicious!!! The silliage is more than arms length!!! It lasts over 6 hours

Personally I’ve never tried or smelled lost cherry so I wouldn’t know if it’s actually a dupe, but cherry smoothie smells delicioussss in its own way 🍒 It opens like a clean hand soap, a little powdery but it fades away in a minute. After that it gives very much cherry syrup with almond base. I really like it. It’s really sweet and heavy on syrupy cherry, and almond. Reminds me of my favorite perfume from a niche Thai brand, Proad Cherry Syrup. Its longevity and performance isn’t that great though, like a typical Zara fragrance. I’ve sprayed it on my wrist at 3 pm and around 6 it’s already half gone, but with the right amount it would last longer and projects amazingly Overall it’s a really nice fragrance for a really nice price, I love how it smells, very sweet and syrupy. It’d be perfect for everyday wear.

This is SO delicious! Opens up with sour, syrupy, and boozy cherries coupled with the slight bitterness of almond. The opening is very strong so I can see how it might offend, but the dry down is worth the wait. The notes eventually settle down to a delicious jammy cherry scent. It's sweet, sour, and slightly creamy. You're left surrounded by a delicate cloud of cherry vanilla sweetness that's never screechy or annoying. Perfectly paired with a wine red lip and a little black dress, or maybe a cherry print sundress for the daytime, the person who wears this is sexy yet still playful. Flirty yet mysterious enough to keep you wanting more. Projection is intimate to moderate with moderate longevity, but for the price you can't go wrong. Definitely has become a favourite for sure.

Today I went to Zara and I took the opportunity to try this perfume... In the end I couldn't help but buy it. I love it!! As for whether or not it resembles Lost Cherry, I generally said it resembles me. It is true that the cherry is not as acidic as the Tom Ford cherry and the drydown is lighter and less vanilla... But in general terms, it is very similar to me. It is a perfume of sour cherry, vanilla, almond and powdery, very very rich. In fact, today she put it on me and three people have told me how good it smelled...it's been a long time since that happened to me with any perfume! In short, I totally recommend it to those who like cherry and sweet aromas. I see it perfectly unisex also Scent: 10 Longevity: 7 Stroller: 5 Versatility: 9 Originality: 8 World Cups: 9

I love cherry scents and I really like this zara perfume. It kinda reminds me of lost cherry but it's not the same. When you put it on, you get an almond cherry vibe. The scent is a bit artificial at the beginning but after 15mins it sets on the skin. On me smells very sweet and it has a feminine sexy finish. Someone told me it's a night out perfume for mt age (23 y.o.) but I think it's because pf the peru balsam that shows up after 2-3 hours. I work 9-5 job and it stays for all those 8 hours. When I walk others can notice it and smell it in the air. I think it's a nice, cheap cherry perfume ( I bought it 15.99€/100ml). If you looking for a cherry scent that is more girly and fresh, I recommend Cherry in the air by Escada.

I'm a huge fan of cherry and almond notes. So, I had to try this affordable perfume. And it's a love! This a cherry dominant perfume, so if cherry isn't your thing, give this a pass. Personally, I love it. Zara did something amazing with this one. Projection and longevity are moderate, 5-6 hours for me. It is similar to Lost Cherry, but I wouldn't say a dupe. But definitely in the same family. Cherry Smoothie stands on her own. If you enjoy cherry, give this a try! A year later update: Time has darkened the juice. Such an amazing gem. The bitter almost really shines now. Performance has improved as well. This one is much better than the newer version. Longevity: 7/10 Projection: 7/10 Overall Experience: 8.5/10

I bought this today and Oh. My. Gawddd. I’m in loveeee! I was shook this is so close to TF Lost Cherry but I actually like this one even better! It’s sweeter, more cherry and feminine than TF LC and the best part besides the great price is this one lasts longer on me than TF. To me I think this is an amazing fragrance at an amazing value! This is my first Zara fragrance and I honestly just tried it on a whim but I definitely want to check out more of their fragrances now! This one is amazing! This is sexyyyy! Highly recommend if you love TF LC but hate the longevity and price tag!

I actually love this perfume. I didn’t think I would based on its affordability and things I’d heard about Zara fragrances in general. Cherry, almond, vanilla, smoky goodness. On first application it’s very sour cherry, but the sweetness and smokiness really comes out in the dry down. My partner liked it at first, but the dry down had him like “oooooh!” surprised at how the scent had developed. I think I will definitely buy another bottle in the future. I can see myself wearing this often. Wanted to wear it again today, but have to give my other fragrances a chance lol

I didn’t like this when I tried it in the store, it somehow left me a play-doh dry down at 6hrs mark and I couldn’t wash it off!! I tried it a few more times and it didn’t happened. I kept thinking about it, finally bought it and I don’t regret it. It’s close (but not the same) to Lost Cherry (LC is more complex but silage was only intimate and didn’t last on me — if I’m paying that much I want it to project a mile and last all day). It’s a playful casual scent for all seasons. Although it’s tempting but don’t over spray this one otherwise you’ll get a headache.
