Cherry Watermelon Ice Eau de Toilette

Incredibly sweet watermelon + cantaloupe melon, very realistic but with a bubblegum mood! At the start it smells like those little bubblegum shaped like a ball that you get with a token from a colorfull dispenser, at least I used to when I was child! Its sweetness and pulpy, fruity photorealistic opening brought such happy memories back... Some watery and juicy green notes surround the melon notes, the effect is ligtly green and ozonic, and very very dewy! I was afraid this would be sticky but instead it is light and fluffy, so yes, quite ozonic. The cardamom is there too, but I don't find it aromatic or truly spicy, it is so well dosed and blended that gives just a bit of edge and complexity to the melon, and I think there is a bit of musk too, mostly clean and fluffy. A plus of the fragrance is the fact that the usual strong cucumber facets that watermelon often has is here very light. There is no cherry so I guess the name refers to the vivid amaranth color that comes to mind while smelling it, the ice part may hint to the refreshing sensation this gives, while still being sweet and pulpy in its fruitiness. Performance is similar to the others from the collection, lasts for about four hours on me and projects moderately for the first hour then it becomes intimate unless you reapply or overspray, which is easy to do at this price. Yes, it is not something too complex but I kinda dig this solinotes, simply fruity fragrances much more then complicated fruity scent or the usual Zara fruity salads. For me it is the same when wearing vivid colors, choose one and don't overdo. And to me this doesn't smell like an Escada at all, it is more modern and refreshing then those; it resembles a bit the watermelon note in L' Imperatrice by Dolce&Gabbana but here there is an added cantaloupe note in here. In its simplicity it has become one of my favorite when I need to be put in a good mode, it shares the musk of the base with Hip Hop Red Apple from the same collection so usually, if I am down, I start the morning with Cherry Watermelon Ice, then I apply Hip Hop Red Apple in the mid morning and finish the afternoon with Rose Marshmallow Candy from the same collection because they all bring positive vibe to me. Cherry Watermelon Ice is my favorite of the three and perfect to layer with delicate solinotes, maybe sweet lilac or yellow flowers. Jo Malone did so well in this collection for children and grown-ups that want to heed their inner child (even if just for a few hours). She hit the mark because all three in the collection are her usual photoroleastic scent but being part of the Emotions, The Glaze collection she really managed to make them less serious and evocative of happy childhood moments, so happy smelling, lively and sweet but without being overly synthetic or cloying. The quote for this one was: "Beach parties and best friends - heaven scent", and this is exactly what it remainds me of...my childhood at the beach eating melon with my family...sweet memories indeed. The presentation is another strong point too...from the beautiful neat outer packaging, even presented in candy wrapping for gifting (if prefered to the box one), to the transperent glass bottle with colored juice and matching caps. I wish they had made the 90ml too, but they are only sold as 40ml or all three in a pack of 15ml each. They are now on sale for almost half the price and I am hoping someday she will add some scent to the collection, a banana one from Jo would be incredible!

So hard to find this in Malaysia back in 2020 when it first launched. Got my bottle from UK luckily!! Really enjoyed the light refreshing watermelon scent.

Cherry Watermelon Ice is the third and final from Zara's Glace Collection by Jo Malone. Aimed at kids, these are simple, sweet fruity compositions inspired by sorbet and ice cream. They are pleasant and wearable in warm weather, if youthful. Uplifting and unchallenging, they are wearable for adults too. CWI is a simple watermelon scent - despite the name, I get no cherry. Watermelon can be a difficult note to get right, but here it is refreshing and realistic, not falling into cheap, synthetic body spray territory. CWI is watermelon-dominant from initial spray, aquatic in the best way. Its fresh fruitiness is complemented nicely by a green undertone. Initially dewy and sap-like, a hint of cardamom comes through as it develops, adding interest to a simple scent. It illustrates the rind of the watermelon for me. It remains watermelon-dominant until the drydown, when it becomes musky. Sillage and longevity are moderate. A photorealistic watermelon scent, CWI is nicely put-together. Refreshing and pleasant, it is a good summer option for young women. While I don't typically love watermelon, this is one of the best renderings of it I've come across - and a bargain to boot. 3/5.

Very refreshing for really hot weather, the watermelon is very cool with some cucumber notes in it. Definitely no cherry here. I enjoyed it this summer spraying it on my clothes with just one spray of something sweet on the back of the neck, and it gave me the most lovely airy feeling. Probably won't repurchase, but I'd say it's worth giving it a try if you wanna have something light and icy but you're not into aquatic scents.

This is fruity summer in a bottle for me. I am not a summer person but this reminds me of the good parts of summer. I read that is was geared at children. I can believe that because smelling it makes me feel a little younger. Invokes in me distant memories of summers long past. The smell of watermelon really clinches the deal.

Not sure where the cherry or ice comes from with the name, but this is definitely a watermelon scent - realistic and green and juicy. Too many sprays will make me nauseous, but if you get it right, then this is a beautiful fresh summer scent. Longevity isn't too bad for the price - I got about 4 hours layered over unscented lotion. While this scent probably isn't one I would have purchased if I had smelled it first, I am glad to have this in my collection because it provides something different. Also, the bottle (and cap) are both stunning.

A little dash of pepper amongst the wet green leaves - made me cough on first smell. Then, almost straight away, it is just what it says - totally the smell of red, juicy, succulent, watermelon flesh. In some ways almost like the kind of thing Demeter might produce. If you like the scent of watermelon - you are going to love this. I can imagine it sprayed on a virgin white shirt or blouse for a summer picnic, but can't really see how you would wear this on your skin. If it were a drawing of a still life - 9 out of 10 for photorealism.

I honestly don’t understand the reviews. I ordered directly from Zara (where it’s now listed in the kids’ fragrance section) and got it out and it smells like cheap mens’ cologne. I barely smell watermelon and it’s NOT sweet or juicy. Super disappointed, returning ASAP.

I tried it at the store but was horribly disappointed. To me it smelled synthetic and cheap. Maybe for a kid it's fine once it dries down but not suitable for adults in my opinion.

Cherry Watermelon Ice opens with a Blow-POP sucker/lollipop and quickly turns into a green cantaloupe, musky fragrance. Me gusta!! UPDATE 2-7-23: So this does smell like a photo realistic watermelon... watermelon when you get down to the rind... but there's also a brightness from a cantaloupe note. This is lovely!
