Classics 9.0

Valentino Uomo without the coffee! Smells EXACTLY like Uomo and I am a huge fan of that frag! I do find the coffee in the Valentino can be cloying at times and this certainly solves that! It's performance is meh but is around the same as the original on my skin so I can really recommend it! I didn't think it would smell so close, I really thought everyone was full of it but it really does smell good! Oh, also Zara dumps everything in a big cardboard box during shipping so if you care about your bottle or box being scuffed pick it up in store. If this was a song it'd be Wrapped Around Your Finger by The Police.

I somehow stumbled upon a bottle of this and it's up there with my favourites. This is a rather sweet, a bit floral scent in a very masculine fashion. Real compliment getter and a favourite among ladies. Can be used in many occasions in my opinion, but it's ideal for dating. One surprising thing is the performance - rather long lasting for Zara standards. If you find a bottle for cheap, don't skip.

Same old 9.0. Beautiful iris and cardamom scent for a ridiculously low price. The closest from designer I can think of is Valentino Uomo. I feel like I had better luck with this batch than the previous one (older reddish brown bottle), as the longevity seems marginally better.

ZARA 9.0 repackaged. Same juice, even if the notes as listed on Frgrantica are slightly different. Can easily pass as a Dior Homme flanker.

I'm a guy that primarily wears feminine fragrances. I find feminine fragrances to be more daring and diverse than ones marketed to men. Typically, I find most male fragrances either smell the same, too similar, or just aren't interesting enough to my nose. Unisex fragrances are also usually bland and uninteresting to me. So, I usually just stick to my "feminine" scents. For the last three years, Dior Homme was rated the greatest male fragrance of all time here on Fragrantica, for the years 2017, 2018, and 2019. This fragrance was also notable for pushing the boundaries of gender marketing, by it's inclusion of a strong, powdery Iris. This appealed to me, and I wondered if I had finally found a male fragrance that was bold and daring enough for my standards. I had tested this before, but never really gave it a chance. Last year, I gave it more of a chance, and tested it on a test strip, and made sure to let it develop and smell it at each stage. I loved it, and could immediately understand why it was so highly praised here. Dior made a bold choice by putting a strong Iris in the scent, and therefore it's composition was unique and like nothing else on the shelves. Of course, just as I began to like and consider getting this fragrance, Dior announced their new formula... And they lost me, just like that. Now, Dior Homme smells just as boring and bland and uninteresting to me as every other male fragrance on the shelves. Why? I don't understand why Dior, or any fashion brand for that matter, would reformulate one of their highest rated and loved fragrances. Why didn't they introduce a new fragrance instead? Why didn't they just release the new formula as a flanker? I just don't understand. Now, you can only get the original Homme from the old bottles, or, apparently in Paris, they still sell "Homme Original", and it seems they sell it from time to time on their website in limited quantities. So, thanks to Fragrantica, I knew Zara 9.0 was my next step. It was more affordable after all, and appeared to be formulated to mimic Homme and Valentino's Uomo. There is only one Zara store nearby me, but I figured it would be worth the short trip to grab just this fragrance. I had never been to a Zara store before, but knew their reputation as a "fast fashion" brand, that recycles runway fashion into their own line. The fragrance sold out on their website before I could plan a day to pick it up, so, I went to the store anyway to see if maybe the store itself had any bottles in stock. I ended up finding bottles of "Classic 9.0", and "Extreme 9.0", both from what Zara calls their "Heritage Collection". The packaging was sealed and no testers were available, so I quickly jumped onto Zara's online customer support chat while in line to ask if they knew if this new "Classic" bottle was a different formula. After I had already checked out, the person on the chat told me they were two completely different fragrances. It was too late to return it now, so I left the mall. However, I didn't hesitate to open the packaging and spray the fragrance in the car, and upon first spritz, I was greeted by a loud, screechy, indisputable Iris. Just like Homme. This appears to be a simple repackaging of the same fragrance in two different formulas. I figured the salesperson on the chat couldn't have had both bottles next to her to tell me if they were the same or not. The packaging and bottle isn't as asthetically pleasing as the red bottle pictured here, but from the notes listed here, this is the same fragrance or at least extremely close, which is what matters most. I've noticed after having this for a few weeks, I tend to reach for it much more often than I would any other "male" fragrance. I find it very comforting, especially at night time. My one disappointment with this, is it's lack of longevity. This sadly doesn't last me through the night, and is very very faint after a few hours, almost non-existent. I'm hoping perhaps their Extreme 9.0 will have better longevity.

I went in to test this one on the back of my hand prior to purchasing. The tester offered an almost brownie like thick sweetness surrounding an orris backbone. It was fairly linear on me, and lasted about 8 hours. I bought the Classics 8.0 and 9.0 boxed pair a week later, and the batch I have does not smell the same on my skin. The bottle I bought has a very loud Orris note with slight hints at a sweet gourmand background. I'm not certain which I prefer to be honest. I found the tester to be overly sweet, and thought the fragrance would see use on special occasions. The scent I have is more versatile, but much more one dimensional. I plan to use it as a layering scent with other gourmands that I really like such as Robert Graham's Valour. It seems that Zara fragrances can change a lot between batches, or with storage. I can't know which.

Strongly resembles Zara 9.0 and Valentino Uomo. Iris forward, bergamot opening. Fairly linear like most Zara scents but it’s undoubtedly high quality. Iris lingers with what feels like underlying Ambroxan. It’s a bit screechy. Longevity isn’t bad at all. 5-6 hours. Moderate projection for a few hours. A 7.0/10 for me. Slightly rougher and lower quality than Valentino Uomo but for $20 a bargain. Recommended for the budget conscious.

Very sharp, aromatic, peppery (almost green?) opening. After a few minutes, it develops into a deeper, warmer, smoother spice— cardamom. Smoky and woody at the base. Overall, it’s a little too harsh and possibly synthetic for me, but the way it develops is quite impressive for its price point.

When will Zara stop re-releasing same juice in a different bottle, I think they stopped the production of OG 9.0 and selling this one now. Same Juice!

Balanced sweet iris with cardamon on woodsy base. Very good.

Very sharp and spicy at the beginning, then it develops into something spicy and warm. To be honest, for the first few minutes, I would definitely say NO. Just give it a few more minute, it will become less sharp.

I bought so many perfumes and this was the worst ever , I made many people close to me smell it and even 1 person did not like this smell(including girls) , Don't buy this perfume blindly, I did it and I regret it . maybe you can tell me it is cheap but in my country it takes with work 2 days to buy this perfume

A DUPE THAT'S WELL WORTH BUYING [short review] Yes, "9.0" by Zara does remember "Dior Homme Original" (EDT from 2011) and "Valentino Uomo" (EDT from 2014). It opens up as Valentino Uomo and dries down like Dior Homme. I don't like to publicise "look-alikes" solely for that reason. However, I think the use of this Zara fragrance is much more than that. The "9.0" is certainly a very high-quality fragrance. This can be easily concluded by looking at the rating given to it by Fragrantica - 4.25 out of 5 for the first edition and 4.39 out of 5 for the second edition. It's quite easy to recommend that you test it out in a Zara shop or even blind buy a cheap bottle of "9.0"... and then enjoy it to the last drop. I have a full bottle of Dior Homme Intense and I'm in no hurry to buy a new bottle of Dior EDT, even though mine is almost finished. The same thought occurs to me about a bottle of Valentino Uomo. I have two half-used Valentinos, the original Uomo and the flanker Uomo Intense. A good justification for this reasoning is that I have 2 bottles of Zara 9.0... I'm quite happy with the Zara and don't feel the need to buy backups or replacements of the Dior and Valentino mentioned. Zara 9.0 actually has a little less sillage and longevity than Dior Homme EDT, probably 1/3 less in my opinion. I don't mind increasing the spray a little, considering that Zara perfume costs 9~10 times less than the equivalent Dior Homme and 7~8 times less than Valentino Uomo. The note of Zara Iris is quite pleasant and not cloying like many other similar blends that use Iris, sometimes in much more expensive fragrances than this cheapie from Zara. This fragrance is even a little more versatile than its more expensive soul mates, as it's quite wearable on colder days. The reason for this is that the juniper and vetiver notes seem to be a little stronger in the Zara perfume. Last but not least, the Zara bottle has a pleasant and practical presentation. It's not at the level of the Dior or Valentino bottles, but it's more than acceptable. Congratulations to Zara. I hope they develop many more quality scents than this 9.0. I would rate it 8.0~8.5/10.0 overall, which means it's a fragrance I can recommend without hesitation. My opinion: The low price (€9.0~€12.0 for 100ml) plays an important role in my overall assessment. I prefer to wear Valentino Uomo Intense or Dior Homme Intense. But I see no reason not to have a pair of Zara 9.0 as a backup or for travelling. I recommend it to any lover of Iris men's fragrances. At its price, you can buy it blindly without any regret. Warning: comparison loaded review. This is male fragrace, but I’ m testing it for My Collection as a woman. Why? Because of so Many reviews statist that it reasembles Dior Homme Intense or Valentino Uomo, and they are interesting to My nose because they are as close as you can get to discounted Shalimar Parfum Initial. Shalimar PI as I remember is dry, scratching, almost making you cough, powdery dusty lavandel. The unique Legend. And Zara classic 9.0 really woke this Memory. It has this spectacular opening (also JHAG Lipstick Queen has the same, but lasts only 2 hours) which lasts and lasts. At least 6h. And that is really impressve (perfume lacking depth is a plus in this case). It does not disappear, after 6h it changes to a more classic masculine scent, with still pretty impressive silage. It is so longlasting that I can smell it even after the shower. This last part is confusing, as I don’t want to smell like I’ve just *been* with a man. Still this opening makes me cinsider buying it for Real. I also Had Valentino Uomo for test which has almost the same opening, but lasts waaay less than Zara, and is much sweeter, softer in the dry down. This Zara lasts way longer than the same juice in previous red bottle with silver cap.

@neodave, congratulations you just purchased a clone of Valentino Uomo. Yep. Nice but not Dior. If you want Dior Homme buy Dior Homme still easily available at discounters. Now take notice of the reviewers misleading you and do not trust them in the future.

I hope you all are correct. I bought Dior Homme 2020 and am a little disappointed in the lack of Iris. Still great but lacking.. Hopefully this at least attempts to resemble the older Dior Homme. For 20 bucks(25 shipped) it's not a huge gamble I guess.

At first it's a bit rough for me, too sweet. Eventually it starts to smell more likable. Sweet but smooth. It sticks to the clothes more than the skin. 9 out 10.

Got this one for 8.5 euro. Edit: After some time of using it, I can say its not for me. Its not bad for its price tag, just not my style.
