Dark Wash

I bought myself a Zara 'Denim Collection' sampler first and so should you BEFORE splashing out on full bottles. Yes, they are cheap but that's exactly the marketing strategy here: you'll think, well I can buy three or four Zara fragrances for the same price as one decent fragrance. But it's a fast-sniff business with pretty bottles, an attractive price, and some appealing top notes to lure you in, but once you take the time to really analyze these they are even overpriced for what they are. Frankly, I couldn't pick up much 'sesame' because the opening notes don't even last for two minutes. What I do get in the base is a very weak sandalwood concentration. It's inoffensive, but I doubt after less than one hour other people can even pick up on this unless you douse yourself in this stuff (which I'm surely not planning to). I don't even want to compare with other fragrances because it would be an insult for any other major brands. Stay away, instead of buying three or four Zara fragrances, which are all average or even worse, save up for a decent eau de toilette. Your bottle will last longer and will give you more pleasure.

I have the complete new Zara Collection tester sets. So i will review them all. This is by far the worst of the four. The smell is afwul and i wanted to wash it of immediately. But then i waited for the dry down to kick in. And guess what? Still afwul. Its smells like you have been frying in sesame oil. For three days in a row and didn't shower at all. Its a litlle bit hit or miss with the new Zara fragrances. They are releasing to many in a row. So happy that i bought discovery sets. Otherwise this have been the worst blind buy ever. Day Collection: worst = No Plans, best = Stormy Day Night Collection: worst = Night Skyline, best = Midnight Hour Denim Collection: worst = Dark Wash, best = Frayed Edge

This is the worst of the Denim Collection. I hate it. I agree with the comment below - the sesame is POTENT and not in a "oh this might be different" kind of way. I do not recommend this.

Not talking about performance yet - but purely the scent. Mind you that I'm smelling these at home in a neutral smelling room, not just rushing 20 perfumes to my arms and wherever I can in my body in a quick Zara store visit. This is not as bad as some reviewers claimed to be. I think it smells nice - first 10-15 minutes I get bits and pieces from Lanvin L'Homme - that metallic-fresh opening but this one feels more round and heavier on the sandalwood molecules. Just because it says sesame in the notes doesn't make this smell like sesame - which it doesn't really. It's called illusion by suggestion. The sandalwood is really nice here - bright but also creamy, balancing the fresh metallic top nicely, actually this is what I expected of Lanvin L'Homme back in the days.

I heard this is similar to Jean Paul Gaultier Le Beau (not to be confused with Le Beau Male). Can anyone confirm or deny this?
