Ebony Wood Elixir

Maybe all this time I just had weak perfumes, but holy crap...I was not expecting a ZARA perfume of all to be this good. This stuff is AMAZING. It gives me that Hotel hallway vibe, especially from one Ibis I stayed in, in Coimbra Portugal. It's really, I don't know how to describe it, kind of like laundry, but at the same time elegant, if you ever smelled a clean fresh Hotel hallway with air con it gives me that feeling. Like I'm walking into a Hotel room at night after a long flight, or the first morning after sleeping in a Hotel, when you go down to eat breakfast. Honestly I could say it's in the same "Vibe" as Sauvage Elixir, that fresh Hotel smell, cos that's how the Sauvage Elixir also smells to me, it's elegant, yet playful, pleasing (but not the Sauvage dupes, they all lack that little playfulness, once I smelled the real deal I instantly could tell a difference). I'll update this post once it hits like October or November when it will be more werable, cos don't get me wrong you could totally rock this in Summer, maybe just like 4 sprays on the heat points, and that's it, but this is more a 0-15 degrees weather fragrance. But for Summer I could only reccomend it either small dosage, or at night, like a dinner date by a fountain in Florance on that hill overviewing the city, as you drink some wine. But for now, as a complete unplanned buy I'm very happy with how this turned out.

One of most unique scent in my collection. I directly pulled trigger when I tested it in local Zara store. But I didn't realize how strong this frag can be! Maximal 2 sprays! However, although I love the scent, I rarely reach it because I find it is difficult for me to find a perfect occasion for this in my daily life. I imagine wearing it at slightly cold night during a vacation in Mediterranean. Although I find it this frag is 3 season frag (except summer), seems versatile, but.... It is difficult for me to explain. Anyway, lately I wear it occasionally after shower when I back home from work when I wanna smell unique for myself. And my wife reaction always: "what are you wearing? Smells so green"

I'm a diehard Ebony Wood fan, be it the OG or the elixir version. What a fantastic, unique perfume. This is the heavier version with coffee and patchouli. I am not a patchouli fan but it's so subltle in this perfume and blends in very well that it has none of the unpleasantness I often experience with it. It opens just like the OG but dries down heavier, I find the coffee very subtle but it's there. It's very unisex and was asked by guys before what I'm wearing because they want it for themselves.

It's been a long time coming but finally Ebony Wood Elixir is on Fragrantica. 2026? I don't think so! Wonderful heady frag that is quite difficult to pin down. It's zingy with grapefruit, spicy with pink pepper and comforting with deep dark woods. But that doesn't quite sum up what you're smelling. It's pretty unique. I'm wearing it today and, as it is the most nuclear fragrance out there, I'll probably be wearing it tomorrow too! 🙃 Enjoy!

This is finally in the database! If you're looking for a fruity, woody, sexy, long lasting fragrance that's actually affordable then this is it. I was shocked by how good it is. Absolutely insane longevity for a Zara fragrance AND for a Jo Malone fragrance. This is a woody grapefruit scent with hints of coffee, like Ingenious Ginger but for the winter time. It sounds bizarre but it's so damn good in the cold weather.

Honestly, one of the best zara fragrances IMO. Actually one my fav scents this period. It smells way more expensive than it is and i love how unique, yet easy to like it is. Nobody mentions it, so it could just be me, but it smells like a slightly sweet black tea in a great way. Both the edp and the elixir are great.

Smell is very unique, is sweet but not something that is would eat, is more like a plant that has a sweet smell, is sweet but also green, not cloying. Performance is great. Smells niche quality. If not too hot can be used on any occasion. For the price 10/10, even if it cost 3x the price i think would be worth it.

I am completely speechless about this scent. Zara and Jo Malone have created a perfume that defines me. Whether Ebony wood in the "basic" or Elixir version. Fresh, yet seductive. I have already received several compliments on how great I smell. Even hours after spraying.

This smells very close to the EDP version. This one is a bit sweeter, with what feels like a hint of jam or a sweet breeze in the background. Personally, I still prefer the EDP version, but this one definitely has better longevity.

Acest parfum se joaca cu mintea mea la fiecare purtare. Este excepțional din toate punctele de vedere (picant, aromat, condimentat si dulce). Miroase a chimen pe o baza dulce. Il recomand, însă nu blind buy!

I love the EDP, and I love this Elixir version too. They are very much alike, although I might say that the Elixir has some round edges and a little more on the masculine side.

This is the fall version of the edp. The same but richer, deeper and more masculine. The elixir is a spicy, citrusy wood. The edp feels like a light citrusy pepper.

It opens with a very sour and strong grapefruit scent. For about 15–20 minutes, the smell doesn’t fade at all, and it actually gave me a headache. Afterwards, a slight coffee aroma starts to join the composition. I can probably only detect faint hints of coffee because the grapefruit overwhelms my sense of smell, but the people around me said they could clearly smell the coffee note. After an hour, the intense grapefruit still refuses to go away, and a slight cedar note begins to appear. Around the two-hour mark, the grapefruit finally starts to fade, but just when you think you’re finally free from it, the perfume is already nearing the end of its life. What remains very close to the skin is a cedar–vetiver–coffee scent, which is actually wonderful—but unfortunately no one will smell it unless they get very close to your skin. It stays very close to the skin for another 2-3 hours. It's definitely unique. The notes smell very natural; there’s nothing synthetic about them. If you like heavy, sour citrus scents—especially grapefruit—this is definitely a perfume you should own. Otherwise, I wouldn’t recommend buying it without trying it first.

I really wanted to like this fragrance, I’ve been wanting to find a Jo x Zara fragrance that suits me for a while, so after smelling the EDP and hearing that the elixir leans more masculine I thought great. Straight out the gates this is pure pink pepper... like a mixed peppercorn grinder spilled. Even after the dry down all I get is pepper but with the addition of sweetness and green notes. Rather nauseating, but no denying that this is an expensive smelling truly unisex scent. Not for me unfortunately.

Imagine vinegar mixed with dish soap, youll get this. How on earth these reviewers are commending this cologne is beyond me. Someone said it smells like wine, I can see that, a horrible cheap one. Its repulsive. My all time worst cologne is Black Phantom by Killian and this is a close second.

This has been out for awhile, I bought it last year and the way Zara works it'll probably be gone soon. If you liked the original but wanted a more concentrated version I'd stop by my local Zara's and give it a test. Pro tip: if you stop by Bath and Body works you can snatch a few tester strips before going to Zara.

Very good smell but i dont get any of the listed notes, smells like grapes/wine almost tropical to me. Weird. I can see the comparison to sun gria.
