Energetically New York Elixir

This is a very masculine fragrance. I can’t clearly identify every single note, but the “pickle” comment that many people mention might actually come from the cardamom note. To me, it smells more like freshly chopped green herbs when preparing a salad. So when people say “pickle,” don’t imagine a sour or fermented smell. It is a well-balanced scent. In this fragrance, I also get a note similar to Kenzo Homme EDP. As I mentioned before, it reminds me of slightly green and a bit parsley. It’s hard to describe exactly, but it smells really nice. Leather, sandalwood and jasmine stay together in the background as a soft nuance. Ambergris and cedarwood notes are not listed, but I can definitely smell them. Overall, it can be described as a woody and spicy masculine fragrance. As soon as I enter a room, people ask if I changed my perfume because the sillage is quite strong, and it leaves a noticeable trail when you walk by. The longevity is easily better than most designer fragrances. If you like YSL La Nuit de l'Homme, Gris Charnel(Without fig) or/and MB Emblem, I think you will definitely enjoy this fragrance. Personally, I can’t imagine this scent on a woman. For this price range, it is a high level p/p fragrance. It can be worn in almost any environment and in every season except very hot summer days. Definitely worth trying.

I received it today, and I wore it doing errands. I was at a gas station for my first stop and I got a compliment from a young lady working there. Out of the blue she said you smell really good. The second one was at Target 20 minutes later. This is one of two only that garner such reactions from people, the other one being Bois Imperial from Essential Parfums. I guess woody scents is something people like...and I like them too. Aside from compliments, this is definitely in the same genre as Le Labo Santal 33. This one is softer, sweeter, and less divisive. I like sandalwood so no surprise that I like it here too, as it comes across like a creamy sweet woody molecule scent. I think I like the scent profile more than Santal 33, and despite having both, I will buy this one again and not the Le Labo.

People tend to compare it to Santal 33. I don't really smell the similarity on my skin. On testers and skin, santal 33 smells like straight up wood and paper. The Energetically New York Elixir smells much sweeter, spicier, and it feels like it has character. It doesn't smell as vibrant as the non elixir version, but it smells great none-the-less and I think it smells a bit better than the non elixir version because it is a bit more subtle. I got 2 bottles of the 100ml stuff. Great fragrance and I hope Zara doesn't discontinue it. Regarding the pickleish scent, I don't smell it. After some wear down I could somewhat smell the dill scent, but not pickles at all. The dry down smells somewhat linear, but sandalwood is very prominent at the end. It lasts absolutely forever btw.

I was at first not especially drawn to this one but I'm very glad I bought it. Hands down the most compliments of any perfume ever, no lies! Maybe its my own scent that works well with it, I have no idea. Yes, very Santal33 (can't afford). Seems very simple and nodescript at first but its actually a grower not a shower. It has that leathery hum of Cabochard,, but at arms length, and a quite upfront floral signature. The opening is spicy and a lovely dry woods, which weirdly at first seems transient but isn't at all, it deepens slowly and beautifully. Quite a remarkably good scent, I love it. I put it in the same ball park as Terre de Hermes. I'm going to get another bottle before they water it down or toy with it as they are wont to do. Savages.

A wetter, juicier take on the Santal 33 DNA. A sour citrus opening lingers alongside the distinctive cardamom and jasmine heart throughout the wear, with a less photorealistic sandalwood and leather base. A hearty dose of ambroxan gives it solid longevity, and projection seems ample. Development stays relatively linear — which is actually a plus, since it preserves that citrus top note all the way to the end. People say “pickles,” but to my nose it’s more like fresh cucumber with a splash of lime juice — like those snacks you get in Mexico. Feels more like a flanker than a dupe — and a pretty good one at that.

if you like the santal dna, this is the way to go. a true elixir in terms of performance, i tend to overspray everything but this is the first fragrance my colleagues literally complained about being so damn powerful, and it comes from zara to my absolute shock. the scent itself is spicy, floral and fuzzy. i get a lot of green tea and cardamom vibes, jasmine creates a fuzzy athmosphere and sandalwood hits the big shot. this is a really smooth blend but compared to the og santal this is much more sweet and it makes a big difference in the drydown.

I'll review the love of my life. I'm obsessed with Jo Malone and everything that's to do with her, her old brand and her work legacy as a perfumer. This Is, I think, the second most perfect perfume of all times. It smells like you entered a forest made up of sandalwood. It smells fresh, but it has that creamy and welcoming vibe, that sweetness from sandalwood that not all brands like to show. Some people will compare it to Santal 33, I think this one is way better: sillage is on the top, it stays on my dry skin for hours, everyone compliments me.

This fragrance is undoubtedly unisex, perhaps the most unisex fragrance from these Jo Malone collaborations with ZARA. Initially, the scent opens with a citrusy and slightly floral aroma. After a few minutes, I detect wood and musk notes. It feels incredibly comfortable and refreshing, yet still warm and cozy. I’m definitely enjoying this fragrance immensely. After long ours, the fragrance demonstrate a very synthetic scent. Very commonly in all ZARA fragrances. However, in my husband, the fragrance opened slightly bitter and too woody.

I recently went into a Zara just to try on some clothes, and I came across these new bottles that I had never seen before. I went to smell all of them and was immediately drawn to this one. I get a very refreshing citrus, along with beastmode performance. On my skin I got around 10 hours strong projection and then around another 5 hours skin scent. For a cheapie it is not terribly cheap, however the longevity in my opinion does nullify that. Overall amazing fragrance, will prolly buy in the future when I'm less broke.

This is so good, imo Zara best scent yet. Clean, smooth sharp in a calming way. The first hour it’s has a marine like quality, after that it’s a clean scent with a lot of depth. Imo it leans more masculine but a woman could also get away with this. Perfect description of «Energetically New York». This scent carries a lot of charisma and energy!! Longevity is insane on this, I get 12+ hours with 3-4 hours of very strong projection. Zara outdid themselves on this one. Highly recommend

big fan of this. when shopping i spray some options on different parts of my body and clothes to compare longetivity and intensity. out of 4-5 designer fragrances í sprayed this one overpowered the rest but in a very pleasing way. i bought it a few weeks later and will be using it a lot. unlike other reviews i dont think this is a winter smell, i think its good for hot and lukewarm weather. its a green woodsy marine manly smell. 9/10 overall. probably number 1 zara frag

This is 1 is 1 dupe for santal 33. I have tested them both today. Zara on left and Le labo on right arm. I will tell you they are exactly the same. That was a random purchase that ended to be totally amazing discovery. I wanted to purchase big bottle of Santal 33 and I think I will pass. Energetically New York is strong,project like crazy and is long lasting. Save a coin because nobody will know that you are using budget version. Magnetic cap is a bonus 😉

Really hope zara doesnt discontinue this one. I like it alot. I personally have never smelt santal 33 so i couldnt tell you how it compares to it, but for 45 dollars its a banger. Cap is magnetic which is cool to see zara do. Longevity is insane, i can smell it hours later, sillage is decent. Will definetly be my signature fragrance for a bit.

Very close to Book by commodity which is one of my favourites green fresh perfumes. For my nose it is Sage and Cedar heavy and that is a combo that I love! Projection and longevity is above an average zara perfume, Im still getting wiffs 3/4 hours after applied it on store. Will buy it since its really close to Book and is waaaaaay cheaper

I smelled this from the tester at the store, and it's an interesting fragrance, first shot may not be the most attractive its scandalous and citrusy but later it comes a real nice warm woody like almost palo santo smell that stays in, Its worth the try ,smells unisex and has a lot of personality I would wear it in a Rainy day of fall.

This is fantastic. I have it on one arm, and Le Labo Satnal 33 on the other. This is a little sweeter, spicier, and longer lasting. It is not cheap, but it is a fourth of the price of Satal 33 and I like it more. If you have Santal 33, don't be sad, just go buy this one, and leave the other as a paper weight.

I'm absolutely in love with this stuff, I kept going back to the store to smell it and eventually got it, fresh yet deep and spicy, floral, just so addicting and very niche smelling for what it is. Quality is extremely high and performance is great, not just for it's price but great! My new signature!

Literally one word. Wow. Not expecting this from zara and jo malone. So good, so rich, so premium. I wore this on my work activewear jacket and for straight 3 days i was able to get wiffs of that creamy-woody sweet pickley aroma that was so pleasing me all the time.

I already love Energetically New York EDP and now comes the elixir version that has even better performance!! Really puts this new elixir version on par with Santal 33... Just adore everything Jo’s putting out at Zara, she’s genius!!

This is currently my signature scent. It’s everything I love about fragrance. It lasts a long time, great sillage and the notes trickle down beautifully .

Yeah this stuff is amazing. Bought it while in London. Smells like it's fully mature too which I never seem to see with inspired by frags. Awesome stuff

Smells like shaving cream but holy this is staying for DAYS on clothes and large projection my wardrobe loads with this scent

Saw the raving reviews of how this is a dupe for Le Labo Santal, and I'd have to say that it does not smell alike. I don't personally own LL but I'd recognize the scent wafting off passer-by's in a heartbeat - this is not it. I got this today; wee bit apprehensive about the scent as the initial blast prior to drydown is definitely more of a "boyfriend scent" - you know, one of those ultra masculine man-scent. It leans more towards spicy and unisex once you give it some time on the skin. Very warm, cardamom, peppery scent, which I enjoy. I was hoping it'll knock my favourite scent, Eidesis from Aesop, out of the park with scent and value, but I guess not for the former. However... GUYS - I just had a long shower and the scent DOES NOT COME OFF 🤣 So, I can definitely attest to its longevity. Like, what is this sorcery?!

This is such a cool girl coded fragrance. Truly unisex, would smell incredible on men as well. I have this and Dossiers Woody Sandalwood (sorry, I will never pay for a Le Labo fragrance..), and I was trying to see if I needed both. And as much as their openings are similar, they ARE different. I actually lean towards the Zara version because it’s got a little bit of a brighter, almost floral/sweet dry down. It’s very minor difference but I can definitely tell side by side. It’s just a bit smoother. Absolutely nuclear fragrance. Worth having in your collection if you are a Santal lover.

For once, I'm going to ignore the notes and just describe the experience of smelling this for the first time : Imagine walking around in New York, the streets buzzing with tourists and manhattanites at peak traffic : Smells from the delis and bagel shops, spices from a chai latte you just picked from a nearby coffee place. It's fall and it's just stopped raining. Your suede boho bag is slightly wet from the water droplets you couldn't avoid in time before getting shelter. That is what this fragrance evokes to me. Beautifully done.

went shopping with a friend who wears Santal 33. Tried this perfume on my skin. Didn't really like how it smells at first, I got a citrusy, almost pickle-y note. Went home and after a couple hours, I got a whiff my friend's perfume on my wrist. It was this perfume. Went back and bought a bottle for my sister who LOVES Santal 33. I'm not a big fan of Santal 33, but for me, the dry down of this perfume smells exactly like Santal.

Pretty good parfum for everyday wear during winter and autumn. Harsh oppening, which reminds me a gasoline. But it settles down to fresh leather scent. Can not say it is my favorite among my zara parfums, but I like it. I will call it unisex parfum, slightly masculine.

I have had more compliments on this fragrance than any other in my collection. Amazing reinterpretation of the Santal 33 DNA.

I don't know why. it smells so oceanic/marine to me. It's more similar to Kenzo Homme than Santal 33

I ordered it and claimed today it has nothing about santal 33 and no projection no sillage.For that price not a bad perfume thanks to jo malone but don't think it's a clone of Santal 33

Disgusting opening, beautiful creamy drydown. But I can’t stand the opening. It made me gag.

To me, this is just a re-release of Amber Linen or Cardamon by Zara... it has very little similarities to the OG Energetically New York :( The OG is quite sharp, but also very light and unisex at the same time. The elixir is so heavy and masculine. It will make a nice room spray for sure. Don't blind buy this just because you are a fan of the OG and want a stronger version, becase it's very different...

As someone who enjoys both Santal 33 and Lovers, I didn’t like this at all. In my opinion, it feels like a poor-quality imitation.

Blind bought this and have given it a few tries. On my first wear, I got those pickle notes that everyone mentions, but I haven’t picked these up on subsequent applications. It’s definitely a bright fragrance with a fresh and sharp opening. It is quite aquatic in the top notes, but I wouldn’t go so far as to say a marine fragrance. It gets more interesting as the top notes fade and the sandalwood and jasmine come into focus. These woody floral notes are lovely. I definitely think this is a fragrance for better weather and think the “warm spicy” description is nonsense. The annoying thing is that if you top up with some sprays later in the day, you have to wait a while before the good notes really hit again. This is a cracking value fragrance. Zara’s collaborations with Jo Loves have been fantastic. Leather Jardin is great too, as is Fashionably London Elixir. Can’t complain for about £39.

Having tried the OG energetically new york, The elixir opens with a similar scent dna, but less refreshing and aquatic. I was debating between the elixir and the OG until it started to settle down and it became more spicy and a bit herbaceous. The dry down is more of a sweet warm spicy kind of scent, sort of different from the one that you would get with the og energetically New York. If the OG energetically New York is light and refreshing, suitable for a hot day out, the elixir is one that's built for night time, or places that are slightly colder. It can be a cloying especially in hot weather

Due to the sale last week I bought 3 Jo Malone scents from Zara. ENYE is a creamy/woody leather smell for me. The batch code says it's around 2 months old. I let it sit for a while and see how it goes. Though I played around and layered it with the regular Vetiver Pamplemousse, and I was very pleased with the smell. It enchanced the citrus, VP alone smells weak, but after after layering it with ENYE the citrus gets stronger and it becomes a woody citrus in my skin, and I liked it kinda similar to ESSENTIAL PARFUM'S OrangeXSantal.

Just picked this up at the store and I was so surprised when I sprayed it. It’s definitely a strong scent at first, citrus and cardamom. It kinda smelled like pickles. (sound familiar?) Then after about 10-15 minutes it calms down to this nice sandalwood and suede that is so warm and creamy almost. That’s when I realized this was a dupe of Le Labo Santal 33. For $50, you can’t beat it. It smells so good and I’m smelling it right now after spraying it 7 hours ago. Long lasting and decent sillage. These elixirs are good!

Wow this is so good! I haven't smelled the original, but this one I think is not that similar to Santal 33 as everyone says about that one. At first I thought I'll give it to my husband as it smelled very masculine but the dry down on skin is mostly cardamom with woody undertones. It's unisex, great for autumn and winter but also sexy and warm for night time all year round. I wish the jasmine was more detectable to make it a bit more feminine and soft! Maybe I'll find something for layering...

Energetically New York but with a very pronounced suede base note ; a much heavier version of ENY. I really like it but I think the opening is a bit too heavy, maybe because I was not expecting it. I think this is much more suited for fall / winter and could be a good companion to the original ENY for these seasons. In warm weather I find it a bit cloying. The suede note is strong so definitely recommend trying it first.

I do like this one, but to me it doesn’t feel very different from the original Energetically New York—just a bit more intense. I was hoping for something closer to Santal 33 in terms of woody notes and expected more character in the sillage and projection, but it ends up smelling almost the same. Maybe it’s just my skin chemistry, but I mostly get a fresh scent with some citrusy notes.

This is basically older Energetically New York with a heavy doze of ambroxane. It stays on skin even after shower (the ambroxane part). It lacks the iris/violet note the Santal 33 has, but it’s a nice (leaning more masculine) dupe.

Se percibe muy claro el intento de replicar el ADN de Santal 33. Disfruto más esa clara salida de cardamomo que no se percibe tanto en la versión original. Fragancia que te dará cumplidos para eventos nocturnos.

Today I wore this to work and my boss called me to her office saying that two people complained about my fragrance being too strong. She said that it’s a nice smell just not for the office lol

For the price of 30 euros, it's a good scent. It reminds me more of Bvlgari Aqva after first hour on skin. In the beginning is 100% Santal 33. And it stays on skin for 8 hours.
