Gardens In The Desert Sand

If only 10% of Zara perfumes deserve attention, this "Gardens In The Desert Sand | Zara" should certainly be included in that number of votes. Everything but performance is good in this fragrance. He must be one of the few Zara who was wrongly little talked about! I will start by saying that it is a very dynamic perfume as its phases are quite different. It starts with a strong peppery opening, somewhere between the black pepper and the red pepper. It also has a slightly fruity and citrusy nuance of orange. This opening is very nice. Orange, black pepper, and fresh red pepper seem like an irresistible accord to me. In the body, without losing the pepper, the citrus strand begins to grow into a very ripe orange with an added floral nuance. The aroma becomes exciting and stimulates the mouth to salivate. Then the pepper has long evaporated while drying and you get a gentle sweetness of orange jam with a warm, dry sandalwood base. After a few hours, I can only find a skin scent. For ten euros I couldn't ask for more durability and complexity. It feels good in today's gray weather when it's neither cold nor hot. Music: Sting - Desert Rose

A beautiful cheapie from Zara, with all the characteristics that the releases from this house typically have, the poor duration and limited projection. Nevertheless, it's a nice warm citric woody fresh scent reminiscent of Terre d'Hermes as others said, but for me it smells very much like Montblanc's Starwalker, orange/citrus opening and its woody drydown. Great for very hot weathers where it shines (Mediterranean and hotter) and lasts for longer than 2-4 hours and even more on clothes. Very good value for money, a great fresh scent for the summer, daytime use. BTW, you can't compare it with Sauvage, this is not intended to be a competitor to the mass-appealing frag that Dior made (or any of its flankers, excluding Elixir which is totally another thing). Zara's GitDS is much much better than "that".

This is really nice and comforting to wear - also feels masculine and slightly casual at the same time. Also, it seems that the trio in this range (Ice Walk, this one and Strolling Over Heaven) appear to have a little more strength than most others from the whole range (with the exception of the highest priced ones).

I picked this as “The fragrance I was least likely to wear frequently, but doesn't smell so bad it has to be in the bathroom.” So, I currently have this in my car. I spray it every so often when I need a refreshing burst of scent. The lone compliment I’ve received so far is “Your car smells better than the inside of most houses”...if that’s the case then whose houses have they been in?! It’s unique, spicy, and earthy, reminiscent of Terre d’Hermes. It's not something I’m craving to put on my skin in the Florida heat, but it still has a purpose. 5/10

The most underrated Zara release for men! (Maybe a tie with Blueshape.) This has the standard Zara freshie problem of projection being low after the first 30 minutes and the overall longevity also isn't anything to brag about. It does however last longer than a lot of current formulations of popular Zara freshies like Teahupoo or Summer edition so it's not a complete disaster. And everything but the performance is great in this scent! You get an actual development stages! Strong peppery opening, the loudest part of the scent. It smells like a mix of different colors of pepper, not just black pepper. It's also a little juicy because of the orange underneath, almost making it smell like a not-yet dried pepper. Awesome opening. Then after a few minutes you get this darkness (hard to describe it in specific notes, I guess it's what other people here refer to as the woodiness) and an awesome very ripe orange. In this stage this is the closest to Sauvage however not the EdT, but the EdP! (Ice walk was already the Sauvage EdT clone in this line and it smells very different.) I have a feeling a lot of people haven't actually smelled other Sauvage concentrations than the everpresent EdT and might be making quick judgements based on limited experience. Then in the drydown, the pepper is long gone and you get amazing smooth orangey, almost sandy warm sweetness. The bottle looks great with the pixel art and simple lettering. Even the sprayer that looks plastic and cheap is actually making a really nice (not too soft) mist, a noticeable step above most Zara sprayers. Overall it really is an awesome scent, albeit long discontinued. I don't think this sold too well, I saw it discounted forever until it finally sold out.
