Golden Decade & Sandalwood

The recent Golden Decade flankers have disappointed me in the sense that their either not different enough from the original, or there’s nothing left of the original. When these extraits came out so close after the Amethyst and the Ruby flanker, it was very unexpected and very quickly. I wasn’t sure if it was necessary, but I wanted to buy one of the Hypnotic Vanilla extraits, and I decided to pull the switch on this one – for free shipping purposes. I did like the thought of a woodier GD and coconut could be a nice touch as well, even it often becomes very overwhelming in a fragrance. I have to say with this one, I mostly do still get the regular Golden Decade DNA. It doesn’t give me much woodiness or coconut. It’s more like, just a creamier version of Golden Decade. Maybe it needs to macerate.

If you’ve ever found « This is Her! » by Zadig & Voltaire a little too screechy but loved the idea of it — Golden Decade & Sandalwood is a great alternative. It captures that same creamy sandalwood vibe, but it’s smoother. This smells like it belongs in a bottle with a three-digit price tag.

I’ve never smelled the original Golden Decade. When I went into the store, I sprayed on this Sandalwood one, and it caught my attention. I kept sniffing this on my wrist all evening. Creamy sandalwood is a fitting description. I don’t really pick up much coconut here... to me, it smells like a soft, clean scent. I’ve been wearing it this summer, and for some reason, it feels especially perfect with blue outfits – it gives that kind of vibe to me :) I’m curious to see how it will perform in autumn and winter, but I already have a feeling it could be a year-round staple.

This is what flowers & flames from libre tried to be ; but failed because being too much alike libre edp where lavender is scratchy bitter and loud. This one enhanced its creaminess : i like it a lot, better than libre flowers & flames (being my fav of the libres flankers). Performance on the other hand is weak Update : i don’t recommend any of golden decade extrait line, they are all similar and in the dry down become basic golden decade. No performance whatsoever, sad i paid full price for each one

There's nothing to write about. It's just a creamier Golden Decade. I don't feel any coconut here, not much sandalwood either, but these notes are probably responsible for giving it smoothness. The whole thing is average and disappointing for me. Average parameters. 6/10

I don’t understand Zara perfume notes. Notes will be like “watermelon, cotton candy, apple” and then it will smell like Black Opium or some sh*t. That is what is happening here. I blind bought this based off the notes, they looked so good, and then when it came in the scent has zero coconut, and zero sandalwood. Mayyybe has whipped cream smell, definitely has orange blossom. It basically just another Libre dupe. But how you would get that from the notes is beyond me. The lesson here is don’t blind buy based on notes, especially not from Zara.
