Golden Decade

Most current fragrances smell the same to me nowadays, but I like that this one is just a little lighter and cleaner than most floral fragrances. It has a thick laconic creamy sweetness mixed with an aromatic touch. Many fragrances speak of being androgynous, and this one seems semi-demanding to me. There is something about the amber juice within the new scent that makes it very decadent and attractive. Golden Decade is floral, creamy, spicy, with a cloud of light smoke. It mixes burnt orange blossoms, smooth vanilla, a healthy dose of bloom, and luminous amber. It's very harmless - if you're picturing a generic floral orange in your head, you can probably smell it already. I like it; it is delightful and has a unique twist with orange blossoms. It smells like a gourmand masculine fragrance, something like "The One for Men (Eau de Toilette) | Dolce & Gabbana" or "Emporio Armani - Stronger With You | Giorgio Armani". But it's just an observation, and I do not discuss tastes. In this Eau de parfum, with a warm dark amber colour similar to a fine cognac, the olfactory pyramid includes citrus, aromatic, floral, and amber accords. When I apply the fragrance for the first time, I notice the citrus fruits, which have a fresh and sweet scent without being overly tart. Indeed, it is both charming and immaculate at the same time. It's a bit androgynous and reminds me of the opening of Libre Intense. It looks smooth from the start without being a gourmand at all. The perfume then transforms into a sweeter, warmer, and more floral atmosphere. A mix of orange blossom and jasmine makes it pleasant, creamier, soapier. I especially notice the first soiled by a touch of sweet lavender on my skin, not necessarily herbaceous or too aromatic. Even if they are present from opening to complete dry-down, the orange blossoms are the queen of the territory and dominate the heart. The creamy tones of the base notes manifest themselves in the dry down. It becomes hotter, smokier, and more resinous. The bottom is so sensual, with just the right amount of warm, creamy vanilla and roasted tonka bean. Vanilla has a caramel-like appearance. The cologne lasts very well on my skin and is addictive, and I want to keep sniffing my wrists and clothes. As the fragrance matures, it becomes bold, honeyed, syrupy, and sweet on vanilla and smokes, but not in a type of incense smoke, more of a tonka bean smoke, which blends perfectly with vanilla. What else to say? It's an amber, big-hearted floral fougére with a welcoming vibe but still lively and robust. It has a slightly masculine and earthy edge that completely prevents it from tipping over into femininity. It is an easy-to-wear perfume, suitable for both day and evening. It doesn't project much, but it's an intimate, welcoming vibe that others around you will love, too. I think this will make the autumn-winter fragrance more beautiful. Love it! I do not find it disruptive. Indeed it is something already seen, especially in the character of "Mon Guerlain (Eau de Parfum) | Guerlain", "Baccarat Rouge 540 (Eau de Parfum) | Maison Francis Kurkdjian", "Classique (Eau de Toilette) | Jean Paul Gaultier" and "Libre (Eau de Parfum Intense) | Yves Saint Laurent", but still beautiful. It is elegant and sexy, lasts many hours, and smells better as time goes by. I based the review on an 80ml bottle I have owned since September 2021.

Oh wow where do I begin? First off, Zara I'm sorry I've snubbed you as cheap dupe house, you actually do have some interesting numbers that I haven't smelled elsewhere (Zara Oriental) even though the lasting power is not great. It's ok I love you anyway! Golden Decade is beautifully odd. The orange blossom is there and center stage, but it has a rounded sharpness, like a perfectly shaped surface with an interesting texture. It reminds me so much of the greener petitgrain and to some extent neroli, but without the citrus tinge. It's not as green or herbaceous as the former two, but it's not fruity sweet like actual orange blossom. This one feels more like an impressionist painting of the flower rather than a photograph, with odd, unnatural colors thrown in for shading and lighting, but that actually work and bring the image together to clearly spell out Orange Blossom. There's an underscored dark edge with a mild, malty, mellow kind of smokiness that makes me think of Assam Tea, and the creamy sweetness is all coming from the vanilla not the flower. I was hesitant about this one because although I love white florals (Gucci Bloom and Dyptique Do Son are big loves!) I wasn't very keen on the sweeter white florals à la Armani My Way. Besides I have Ralph Lauren Woman and Jasmins Marzipane, which fill that gap in my arsenal. I haven't smelled Libre Intense as it is not yet available in my country (yet) for some reason, so I actually don't know if these two are dupes of each other, so my approach to Golden Decade was to treat it as it's own fragrance. The regular Libre I have tested but I was put off by a soapy, screechy orange blossom barely held together by a meek little vanilla and a hazy cedarwood. Didn't get any lavender at all so that one was a pass. Ahh Golden Decade. What a name! Made me think of the 1920's; then made me think of the current 2020's and I'm hoping for a better decade than what the past two years have given.

95% similar to Libre Intense. I spray both to give myself the bubble to save some of my Libre Intense. If you've never smelled it, it's very ambery, vanilla, orange blossom and lavender. If I haven't smelled Libre Intense in a long time, and smelled this one, I won't be able to detect the difference. But side by side, the Intense has a slightly high quality touch to it - it might be the ambergris. Not to say this one smells cheap at all however, there's no plastic smell that cheap smelling fragrances have. This absolutely smells of quality, just that the Intense has that slightly high quality touch. The lavender isn't like Mon Guerlain, nor as sharp as the original Libre Intense. It's also not like cleaning products and isn't "masculine" at all and it lifts the depth of the vanilla. And the orange blossom gives a taste of a citrus but not too much since I dont gravitate towards citrus. It's very inexpensive considering what it's duping, so I think it's a safe blind buy, but go for the travel size just in case if you can't sniff it in store first. The vibe this one has is sophisticated, dressed up, and can definitely work for formal events. It's also got a sexiness to it. And because of that, I associate it with rich aunties. To clarify, it doesn't smell old, but you definitely need to have to look put together and have confidence, almost like a boss. While this is sweet and ambery, and I would say feminine leaning in terms of how fragrances used to be categorized, I wouldn't object if a guy smelled like this whatsoever. The guys that do wear it will smell of confidence and sends the message that theyre not afraid to stray away from the typical spicy citrus wood fragrances (which also smell great) normally targetted to men :)

My new love. Let me tell you about the moment we met. My introduction to Golden Decade was a little bit different to say the least. I bought a bottle as a gift not knowing anything about the scent. I didn’t even know it was a dupe for Libre Intense. As I was wrapping the gift on the kitchen table it accidentally tipped over and fell to the floor. The top part which is very thin broke and a wave of golden liquid spread beneath me. In the middle of my distress I realized that this was actually meant to be! If this would not have happened my home would not have smelled like Golden Decade for a week and I would not have fallen in love with this amazing scent. I immediately tried placing a new order at Zara, but unfortunately it was out of stock. Now, two months later, I feel at peace with three new bottles. Those two months felt like an eternity. If I had to describe Golden Decade with just one word it would be e ELEGANT. It’s creamy and classy. Warm, rich and rather heavy, but at the same time fresh, soft and comforting. Amazingly balanced with the lavender in the background. Soothing, but still uplifting. Never headache inducing. Libre Intense? Yes, I love her as well. At least for the first few hours. Then the lavender takes over and makes it a little too masculine on my skin. Golden Decade does not change much in the dry down and therefore it’s more feminine. It’s very sweet, but in a mature way. If you like Libre Intense, but think it’s too sharp or too masculine, try this instead! Sillage is strong and it lasts about 4-5 hours on my skin, much longer on hair. On clothes it lasts for days. Verdict: Heaven in a bottle. Definitely signature scent worthy.

Great dupe for YSL Libre Intense. It has amazing longevity and sillage. On my skin, it lasts 5+ hours, and over 10+ hours on clothes. For the price, it is excellent value for money. Yet, my YSL Libre Intense lasts longer, due to its quality. I have both YSL Intense Libre & Libre EDP. Golden Decade by Zara is sharper, with citrus notes more pronounced than in YSL Intense. I can smell a hint of vanilla and less lavender. The notes blend well. Zara has done an amazing job on this dupe. Yes, it also reminds me slightly of Burberry Goddess, as mentioned below. For the price, I was quite impressed. I used 6 sprays on my pyjamas, and it was strong. Now, 3 hours later, I am in this wonderful Libre Intense scent bubble. I get lovely wiffs. I did not get too much vanilla; it was just in the background. This perfume could be a dupe for either the Intense or EDP because it has that specific DNA vibe. I am happy with the Golden Decade dupe. It smells very similar to YSL Intense Libre. Zara offers me better value for money. I need to respray GD to get the YSL Libre Intense strength, which is not a problem. GD is a cozier version of YSL Libre Intense. Just a tip: this GD perfume smells wonderful over a vanilla oil or vanilla cocoa/caramel body cream. With the oil or cream, it balances out the sharp citrus smell and makes the caramel and vanilla notes richer.

I just came back to share something with you guys 💕 My mother has no sense of smell. It has always been like that since she was born. Because of that, naturally, she’s not into perfumes. She gets very self conscious about wearing it since she can’t tell what it smells like. I, on the other hand, have always worn perfume and Golden Decade is one of my absolute favorites for every day wear. Yesterday I applied two sprays on my neck and two sprays in my hair as I usually do. Two hours later after traveling by train and walking through a rain storm, my mother came to pick me up in her car. As soon as I entered the car she lit up and said “you smell good!”. I was absolutely chocked since this was the first time ever she commented something like this. I have no explanation to why she suddenly regained her sense of smell or to what extent she could distinguish it, but it was clear she could smell something and she said it was GOOD. It was really heartwarming and such a sweet moment to me. Especially since this is one of my most used perfumes.

Absolutely lovely! I got this one in a discovery box and while I didn’t get it for this fragrance in general, I was curious about it because it obviously has a good reputation. Plus, I do like lavender in fragrances. It really was love at first sniff with this one. I don’t know what it is with people seeing ‘white floral’ and thinking feminine, because to me this is definitely a unisex scent. I rock it and I get great compliments with this one. And I don’t get compliments on fragrances that often – funnily enough when I do, it’s usually Zara fragrances. Seems that you don’t have to spend your money on the big brands unless you think it’s justified and you want to do it for yourself. In the opening, I definitely get a lot of that mandarin orange. The dry down is definitely where I get most of the white florals, mainly the jasmine, but also the orange blossom. To me, this is also a very ambery fragrance, in a great way. Projection and longevity is also great. Nothing but good words for this.

I admit I foolishly and snobbishly ignored the hype around Zara perfumes for a long time because I thought it was only caused by teen girls who have never used an expensive perfume before and thus can't tell the difference. Reader, I was wrong. I swear I audibly gasped when I tested "Golden Decade" at the Zara store, not only because of how ridiculously similar it is to Libre Intense (which I love) but I was also blown away how rich and strong this smells - not like a cheap dupe at all. So of course I had to buy it. Even after that I was still skeptical about the longevity but I am happy to report it lasts 6+ hours on my skin and even longer in the hair (I can still feel it right before I wash it). The only thing that screams "cheap" about this perfume is the packaging - the plastic cap is just a tad too small for the bottle and I have to force it if I want to close it properly. But I can live with that. It almost feels illegal this is so dirty cheap. Don't sleep on it like I did.

I'd say this is probably the best formulated Zara fragrance ever. If anyone is picking between this and Red Temptation, please do not waste your money on Red Temptation. It is the most vile perfume I've ever smelt - literally smells like an old lady smoking cigarettes and eating strawberry jam or Haribos at the same time. It's disgusting and does not last. Golden Decade is beautiful. It lasts long, smells expensive than it actually is, the perfume bottle looks amazing on a vanity and sillage is great. It might be too sweet or ambery for some but I would let you guys decide. I have Si Intense and that's the sweetest perfume I have - I'd say Golden Decade is very mild and can be applied unisex - my brother loves it. I'm not sure how it smells against YSL Libre Intense because never smelt that perfume but people have been saying this is a renowned dupe for that. If it does smell the same though, I wouldn't waste my money on that because this does exceptionally and lasts all day.

99% dupe of YSL Libre Intense, it's really amazing. I actually get a lot more bergamot and orange from this one than the original, so if you prefer a stronger citrus Golden Decade is the way to go. This only truly differs in longevity and projection. I still smell my YSL Libre on my skin after 8-12 hours easily, and clothes even longer, whereas Golden Decade is a comfortable 8 hours (still very impressive). The projection on YSL is much larger as well, but honestly sometimes I don't want the whole room to smell me!! The notes are essentially spot on, with my YSL I get a lot more warm vanilla, tonka, and amber, whereas this one stays a lot more light and fresh with the clean lavender and orange (sometimes I get a little licorice? just me?). Either way, these are just minute differences; if you told me you were wearing the real deal instead of the dupe, I would believe you.

I smelled YSL Libre, and Libre intense a few months ago and have been thinking about them ever since. I was going to ask for a bottle on my birthday or for Christmas, but then I saw a YouTube video recommending Zara’s Golden Decade as an amazing dupe. For just over £10 for 30ml I thought why not give it a go. This is incredible for the price. The longevity is amazing on me, at least 8 hours and I can still smell this on my skin after a shower. It is more similar to Libre Intense than the original Libre. Golden Decade is warm, with quite a strong vanilla note on me. Much less lavender than the original Libre. It feels sophisticated, and for the price really is a no brainier. I don’t feel I need Libre or Libre intense now, and I really do think I have found my favourite scent. Don’t ponder it - get it!

Sniffing Golden Decade and playing "Miss Sarajevo", U2, over and over again, I'm having this temporary brain damage, i'm just so anesthetize, perfume and music is drug for my brain, I have YSL Libre, witch I love, I was thinking of buying a back-up-bottle, and yes, they are some look-alikes, but, this Golden Decade is even better, in my opinion, it went straight into my third shelf!!! Hey-hey-hey!!! When I was in Oslo 9th of june this y, at Zaras Boutique, there was something smelling sooo exceptionally good, I discover it was this bottle, the last one standing, I hope they have more bottles stored somewhere to you, cause, hurry up and get your hands on this everlasting beauty!!! PS: I don't do drugs, I hate it, I have perfumes and music, and, sometimes a glas of whitevine.

When I sprayed it for the first time on my cotton top, it gave me orange blossom and soapy smells. After a while, I did not any orange blossom but the soap only. So, I returned it. Now, I had second thoughts and ordered it again. I wanna give it some more time (a second chance) to see if I like it or not. Edit: Oh my! Now that I gave this perfume enough time to settle down, it became one of my staples. I smell the orange blossom at first, then vanillic & powdery orange blossom as it dries down. It's lightly sweet, a bit bitter, which makes it special and unique. I wear it during hot summer days and it performs very well. I walk in the sun and still smell it on my clothes. Even get compliments. Such a gem!

I sampled YSL Libre Intense in a store and new I needed to have it. Alas, I have a tight perfume budget. So I bought the next best thing: the widely adored dupe that is Golden Decade. I've had this fragrance for about a week and I know I totally love it. Sophisticated, sexy, and smells FAR more expensive than it's bargain price tag. I wish it lasted a touch longer, but I'm happy to apply a few top-up sprays throughout the day considering how affordable it is. I've already received compliments on how good I smell when I wear this. This may lead me to purchasing YSL Libre Intense in the future, but even if I do I'll keep Golden Decade on hand to make such an expensive perfume go further.

It might be that I recently got really into perfumes, but I find this smells like dripping gold. It smells expensive, classy, vintage, cashmerean, reminds me of champagne colored satin and 1920s music. Yes, I get the orange blossom and vanilla, but I also get so much more than that! I showed my dad the Byredo stand and he loved the niche quality, fell in love with Rein de Nuit. Of course we couldn't afford a Byredo scent, so I took him to Zara. He was positively surprised with the quality of the perfumes for such an affordable pricetag! He bought Tobacco and Caramel Spell for himself, and we smelt this last. I wasn't convinced at first, but he told me to buy it. I'm glad I trusted him!

I am writing another review for this because of some bad reviews below. Please go and test it first, see its longevity and projection on YOUR skin and clothes, then buy it. For example, on my skin and clothes, it lasts and projects a lot. 5 hours later, friends tell me "Hmm you smell fabulous...Is it Libre"? On clothes, it's there for 2 days. It's still on my skin after taking a shower. It's NOT a watered-down version of Libre Intense. I tested them side by side and I can't really tell the difference. But again, this is me, my skin and my clothes. If some of the users are unlucky and don't have the right chemistry, it doesn't mean that this is a cheap, watered-down and bad fragrance.

I've had dozens of Zara frags. Many of which have been decluttered due to having a large collection. Golden Decade has survived many declutters. This is an absolute gem. It's incredibly close to Libre Intense. It is, also, reminiscent of Libre Le Parfum. Personally, I don't feel the need to purchase either. I have a travel of Libre Le Parfum that I will not repurchase. Golden Decade is an orange blossom and vanilla bomb. It's very beautiful and very sweet. Performance is amazing. It is very strong, so only 2-3 sprays needed. If I overspray, it can quickly become too much. Otherwise, this is a great fragrance. Longevity: 8/10 Performance: 8/10 Overall Experience: 9/10

9/10 - YSL Libre dupe that IMO is BETTER - Heavy vanilla base therefore may not be as blended as original. Beautiful, addictive and effervescent scent - I can see why this would be a magnet for compliments and attention. Can't stop smelling myself - opening scent is slightly alcoholic and strong (probably due to price point) but dries down into vanilla magical excellence - its not very sweet yet still quite feminine due to the floral notes, can see why people say its unisex due to how balanced the overall smell is. Longevity decent because 4 hours later, its still strong. Can't wait to try the elixir as projection isn't beast mode on this one.

I find this to be a much sweeter version of libre - basically the libre i wanted lol. there's lavender but it doesn't pull as masculine as the OG, it's sweeter and imo blended better into the vanilla. quite strong, and runs ambery. beautiful, and smooth fragrance but you can definitely smell it at arms length. you get the orange blossom sitting on top of that. honestly i love how this is blended. it's like you've got that sweet lavender base, and then the sweeter orange blossom on top, almost honey-ish. Edit: wore this at the office, and had some people sneezing that normally don't, even though they couldn't smell anything. :/ not office safe.

I live in a tropical country, but I spend most of time indoors either in an air-conditioned office or my room. I stopped being able to smell it on my skin after two hours, but I went to sleep and woke up 12 hours later still being able to smell it from my hair. Very unobtrusive and floral-sweet orange fragrance. Edit 05/14: Came back to say that I really love it. I wore it to an event and slept for like ten hours after I got home, so it was around a 16-17 hour time period. Smell was intimate in terms of sillage, definitely, but it was still there on my chest and hair. Man. Might have to buy another bottle.
