Immortal Vanilla

As soon as I saw Immortal Vanilla on the shelf of the ZARA store, it immediately caught my attention. It was next to Blue Temptation and Dark Romance, but this prevailed. For me, it is a unisex perfume that combines the decadent note of black vanilla with the sacred note of incense, and the creamier note of blond cedarwood. This fragrance perfectly balances sweetness and depth, creating an enveloping and sophisticated sensory experience. The dark richness of vanilla blends with an explosion of powdery white musk, with mineral and salty nuances, creating a contemporary and luminous perfume. It is a fragrance that invites you to an immortal olfactory journey. Being a new chapter in the Zara Vanilla collection, this ingredient is dominant. It opens with a boozy and aldehydic note, which carries in the air an aroma of coconut powder, dry, dehydrated, chalky, slightly salty, and very distant from coconut sunscreens or pastry desserts. It is the scent of coconut flour, buttery coconut cookies, and Ferrero Raffaello pralines covered in coconut flakes, and overall the scent is amber and musky. In addition to vanilla, this scent is dominated by coconut, which is strong throughout the perfume. Not surprisingly, a woody and musky accord emerges from the base. These are the sides of the super matte and dry iso-e and galaxolide, a sweet and sharp white musk. Therefore, dark vanilla and blond wood are the protagonists of this perfume, making the overall aroma not too sweet, but soft and elegant. In the heart, the fragrance becomes seductive and exotic, revealing a light talc, powdery but without a trace of makeup. The coconut fades into the background, maintaining its milky aspect that recalls a bit of the dry and mineral notes of the fig. The white of the coconut pulp and indolic jasmine flowers mix with salty notes. The sugary, buttery, burnt notes of caramel and the smoky, resinous notes of incense start to emerge, bringing warmth to the scent. It's sweet, but the resinous, waxy, and smoky ingredients keep it from becoming cloying. This powdery accord on my skin reminds me of old book paper and cardboard boxes. The vanilla, tonka bean, amber, and cashmere wood leave an unmistakable trail. The scent is quite linear, not changing much over time, except becoming slightly sweeter and creamier on the dry down. There is a saltiness to this scent. The vanilla here is unlike any other vanilla fragrance I've tried, so salty, mineral, and mossy. But if you imagine a warm, gourmand, edible, golden vanilla scent, well, Immortal Vanilla is the opposite of that. This is a fresh, unique scent. The vanilla is rich and prominent, spicy, but not in an edible, dessert-like way, which is my favourite. I'm not a big fan of warm, thick, cloying vanilla, so this is definitely my type. In summary, Immortal Vanilla is a woody, sweet, creamy, smooth, clean vanilla that is on the edge of being edible but doesn't quite get there because of the woods and musk. On the dry-down, the musk is strong, and strident, similar to the musky base of modern perfumes. Overall, I praise it for its artistry and distinctiveness, making it a timeless addition to any perfume collection. The performance is great, both in projection and longevity, although the scent seems to sit on the skin almost immediately. Very easy to become anosmic to this scent. I think it is more suited to cool weather, fall and winter seasons, based on the heart and dry down. Perfect for events that require a fragrance that is not aggressive or invasive, but discreet and intimate. This review is based on a bottle that I have owned since December 2024 (BC 43030, PD 2024-10-29).

I’ve been on the coconut hunt lately and this really impressed me and I mean like it REALLY impressed IMPRESSSED meeeeyuhhwww It is coconutty for most of its wear. It’s the perfect mix of beachy, creamy-sweet, and has some “savory” warmth from the incense. Note breakdown looks gourmand-leaning but they knew what they were doing—they balanced it really well !! It can be mildly sunscreeny, tho it’s mostly oily. (Which is exactly what I was looking for) Despite loving and enjoying it soooo much, it’s not really in my priority list for a full bottle because I found it similar to Swiss Arabian Incense 01’s figgy-coconut nuances and most especially its musky far dry down. Literally after a long hour of wear? Super similar, soooo yuh, I don’t find it practical to get a scent that smells like a stripped version of what I already enjoy using; however, if ur after a simpler coconut composition, i totally recommend getting this. Keep in mind, no, it’s not a dupe of Incense 01 because that’s a coca-cola frankincense bomb but it sure is a dupe of a well-known niche vanilla !! If ur after a super affordable and extremely similar dupe to Matiere Premiere’s Vanilla Powder? RUNNNNNNN AND GRAB ONE RIGHT NEOWWWW. This is more pleasant for ur usual “i wanna smell good” audience because VP has a challenging palo santo note for beginners that can smell quite sour, dill-like, and peppery, or worse !! Haha allow me to explain There’s something in Vanilla Powder that smells like Kenny Rogers’ Corn Muffins and Mac and Cheese. Zara is such a great shop for affordable but QUALITY fragrances (tho that may vary per fragrance). Immortal Coconut was a beast !! I’ll pass for now but I will surely get a full bottle when I’ll finish my incense 01 because immortal vanilla is mostly composed of incense 01’s doughy vanilla that i adore. + I’ve decided on getting Mancera Holidays for my staple coconut fragrance.

Hear me out, I actually prefer this to the og Vanilla powder. The few times I tried out vanilla powder I liked it a lot at first but afterwards it became way too musky for my taste, to the point where it was almost pure musk. I don't mind musk as long as it's something (fruits/florals/vanilla etc) at the forefront and musk in the background, but in this and Erba Pura the musk in the dry down is too much for me. Immortal vanilla on the other hand has everything I liked about the og - the somehow 'dry' coconuty vanilla that's almost unisex, without the overwhelming musk at the end. And although it isn't in the notes, not sure if I'm crazy or something, but I do feel it has some noticeable musk and wood, just not to the point it overwhelms the rest. Also I feel it may be a bit sweeter compared to the og, which I don't mind. Quickly became one of my favourite Zaras, got the 30 ml bottle and when I use it up I'll probably upgrade to the 100ml one or get another 30ml, we'll see. It's probably best in autumn, winter and spring, but honestly I tried wearing it on a cooler summer evening and it was fine, didn't feel too cloying. Personally I wouldn't wear it when it's super hot in the day though. Finally, the longevity slaps with this, in my experience definitely one of Zara's longer-lasting ones.

I was pleasantly surprised when I tried the Matiere Premiere Vanilla Powder on one wrist at David Jones and the Zara Immortal Vanilla on the other. Amazingly, after 10 minutes, they smelled identical. It took some time for the Zara fragrance to resemble the original VP, but initial impressions of VP were lovely. In terms of longevity, both fragrances lasted about the same time—around 5 hours. I found that IV was not overpowering; rather, it had a soft sillage that felt more like a skin scent. I even sprayed five times on my pyjamas, and I could still smell it the next day. The fragrance projects well in warm conditions, especially while in bed. To me, it evokes the scent of vanilla ice cream with soft notes of incense, coconut, caramel, jasmine, amber, and a hint of salt. I did not detect much musk with VP, but both dry-downs were identical on my skin. Given that I have an excellent IV dupe, I won’t be purchasing the original VP. In my opinion, the Zara fragrance offers great value for money and smells remarkably similar to VP. Zara did an excellent job with this perfume, and I will definitely repurchase it.

This perfume is very delicious. Sweet, gourmand, vanilla-like, with a spectacular coconut note. It starts off with a very present, sweet, and striking coconut. As the fragrance settles, the mixture of caramel and vanilla emerges, a warm and ambery vanilla. The mixture of coconut, salt, caramel, and vanilla gave this perfume a perfect balance of striking sweetness with a touch of sensuality. You can't go unnoticed with it; wherever you go, it leaves a trail... It was one of the perfumes that I received the most compliments on in a single day. It's not cloyingly sweet, but it's a respectable gourmand, with all the notes in perfect balance. I don't know Vanilla Powder to comment on the similarity, but if it's as delicious as this one from Zara, it deserves praise. A strong perfume, suitable for mild temperatures, and can also be used on colder and rainy days if you adjust the sprays. Monstrous projection and longevity. A perfume to make a statement. The name was perfectly fitting; it is truly immortal, it lasts forever.

This smells nearly identical to Armani Prive Bleu Turquoise with its salty vanilla + incense notes. It also smells very similar to Matiere Premier Vanilla Powder... if Vanilla powder actually smelled good, and not like a screechy mess. So the differences are: Vanilla Powder is screechy, synthetic, very aldehydic, salty, and sharp from the Palo Santo. Immortal Vanilla, however, is far smoother, woody, with salt and a caramel touch which makes it soooo pleasant and delicious. It is instantly recognisable as Vanilla Powder, but a richer, more balanced version. It projects well, but doesn't punch everyone around you in the face, like Vanilla Powder. I bought it immediately - it smells like a niche fragrance, and about 10x more expensive than it is. Many hours later, it's still very much present on my skin. I also caught a wiff of it coming off a sweater that I'd put in the laundry basket a day before, so it's absolutely Beast mode in terms of lasting AND projecting 24 hours after wear??? 10/10 all round.

I love Vanilla Powder but cant justify spending an arm and a leg on it, when such a good dupe exists! This is almost spot on, maybe 95% there. I tried a decant of Khadlaj Fursan White to compare all three, and my favourite is this one by FAR. Where the Fursan White fell flat was that it felt slightly more perfumey, weaker, more powdery and lacks the palo santo. This feels richer (amber?) and even replicates the palo santo 'funk' which i LOVE in VP. I think its maybe the salt note? Theres also a slight incense note in dry down, I can see where the Armani Bleu Turquoise similarities are!!! Overall i love this, it was great out the box, feels rich and well blended, and lasts eternally on skin and clothes. 11/10

I was just about to splurge on a bottle of Vanilla Powder then I immediately found this gem. It’s 90% similar if I don’t smell too closely (actually the longevity on the Zara version is even longer), and if I have to point out a difference it is that Zara’s is very slightly more sweet. But the trace difference really doesn’t justify the price difference. Either way I love this scent. It’s powdery, soft and feels like a scent cocoon. I don’t get any of the “harsh metallic smells”. As a matter of fact I will get a backup bottle of this. Very well done :)

How in the world do people think this smells like Vanilla Powder but nobody else sees how almost identical this is to Bleu Turquoise by Armani??? I'm a huge fan of Bleu Turquoise so by default I adore this and ran straight to the cashiere to purchase it after testing it. VERY long lasting too, just like Bleu Turquoise. Literally the only difference is the soft coconut note in Immortal Vanilla that quickly fades and settles into a salty vanilla and incense. This smells exactly how the ocean air smells at night.

Bought as soon as I tried; coconut shavings, amber, caramel, and vanilla, all spun into airy perfection. The hint of salt lends the olfactory contrast the palo santo does in the inspiration, but obviously not with the woody effect. Excellent dupe of Vanilla Powder, just as strong in the bottle and on skin. Can be worn all year round, including the colder months. Zara's been knocking it out of the park with these offerings, especially in their 'Vanillas' collection.

might be the coconut powder note but this smells like bread to me? versatile, unisex, deserves a "love", but it's not traditional vanilla. layering with ink by akro for a cosplay (iykyk). update: this is honestly the perfect summer vanilla. not feminine or sunscreen-like, just salty, sweet, ambery and balanced with a touch of incense. wearing it to nights at the central beach in a black one-piece (i still haven't gotten top surgery 😭) and feeling chic as hell.

The opening is unfortunately screechy and headache inducing BUT just wait, literally 2 minutes, and it’s spot on Vanilla Powder recreation. Maybe slightly less rich and more sweet focused, but this is great if you want Vanilla Powder on a budget This lasts six hours at least, could still smell it after showering, big projection too. I remember when i went to Bali, i bought the local market’s snack called “Roma Kelapa” and this reminds me of it’s smell.

Beautiful scent. I see why people say it's unisex, but to me it's on the feminine side. Very elegant and creamy. Sweet, but not sugary or pastry sweet, I would describe it as a 'cold' vanilla fragrance. Notes are well-blended, maybe salt and coconut (besides vanilla) are the easiest to detect. This could be easily my favourite parfume from Zara, altough longevity (2-4h) and sillage are quite weak. I hope they'll come out with an intense version.

You will catch me wearing this in below freezing weather AND in the most humid & hottest day on earth. The most polarizing coconut & Vanilla perfume a tight budget could ever buy, accords of salt & incense give this perfume a edgy character,with some deep wood in the backround (even tho its not listed in the notes this 100% has wood in it) making it very rich. I will always rebuy,like this one right here is a BEAST do you hear me.

Versatile, salty, sweet, powerful... this fragrance is insane for the price! I love the salty twist it has, and it lasts forever — on me, easily over 12 hours, with a scent trail that literally fills my whole office 😅 so go easy on the sprays. Still, I think it works great in summer because of the coconut and salty vibe, and in winter it turns sweeter and more intense. I’m obsessed with it 🤍

Love this one! Very very close to vanilla powder! Why waste £220 when this is 1/10th of the price! Excellent longevity, lasts for days on clothes! Smells so so good! The only reason I haven't repurchased this is because I got the khadlaj one! And I am too scared to rely on Zara on good fragrances because they discontinue their good products 😭 An all year round fragrance!!!!!

Insanely good period. But for the price? Magical. I collect vanillas and this is a top 5 overall for me, even though it’s so much less expensive than the majority of my fragrances. It’s sexy, salty, ambery vanilla perfection with crazy good longevity and projection. I’ve had this about a month now and it continues to grow on me every time I wear it. 10/10 for me!

as soon as I read this was a dupe for vanilla powder I RAN TO THE NEAREST ZARA. it did not disappoint, I've had the original and this is maybe a perfect dupe. the opening isn't exactly the same but pretty close!. the dry down is almost exactly the same, with the same in your face beast mode vanilla and coconut. Now I just need zara to make a french flower dupe 🙏

It's truly immortal. It lasts forever and ever. I received SO many compliments from women at a Christmas party. Like every female asked me what I was wearing. I love this perfume. My boyfriend did say that by the end of the night it had a sharpness to it which I agree. This perfume is soft and sexy but it's got a bite to it. She's beautiful and I cherish her 💜

One of my favorites, love it. I bought it after my best friend recommended it to me, because I could smell her from few meters away. Smells so good, the sillage is anwesome, and it lasts on clothes even after washing. It’s not a typical, sweet, basic vanilla, it’s a strong vanilla with coconut and musk? I’m not sure but the scent is AMAZING!

Simply beautiful 😍 definitely unisex. I do get the Olypea similarities but not the JPG Divine, Divine gives an egg vibe, not sure if it’s because of the merengue note or a floral note that smells like it. This one smells like salty caramel, jasmine and ambery vanilla. Great for the price, doesn’t smell cheap at all

My signature perfume, no doubt. Amazing performance on my skin and smells heavenly 🩷 it stays on my skin for over a day and even after showering. 1 pump is enough for a few hours, 2-3 for a whole 24 hours. Has a very strong vanilly scent with a hint of coconut. Definitely sexy vibe. Already rebought 3 times 🩷🩷

I'm in love! Immortal Vanilla is sexy, sublime and sensual. The warmth of vanilla and amber blends well with smoky incense and delicate saltiness. I want to smell myself all day long. I definitely see this fragrance as unisex, maybe leaning slightly towards the feminine side.

Love this one. Def need to get myself the larger bottle version. ♥ Why spend money on Vanilla Powder when you can get this one? I have the sample of the OG this one is duping, I think this one performs the same as well. So happy with this purchase.

Surprisingly good vanilla, especially the salt note that offsets the sweetness and of course the incense that gives character. Caramel, coconut and jasmine stand in a nice blend. It is really good with excellent projection, lasts extra long.

This is SO GOOD. Well blended & lasts 7 hours on clean skin & forever on clothes! Warm syrupy vanilla with lots of coconut & some creamy amber Literally obsessed, as good as designer bottles at this point.

This is IDENTICAL to JPG Divine, even down to the slightly tangy meringue fluffy goodness. This is a waaaaay cheaper dupe, so I'm ELATED that I blind bought this and made this happy little discovery!

This smells so sophisticated, especially for an inexpensive fragrance. Definitely more of a unisex scent though, it's not overpoweringly sweet and lasts really well, which is impressive

So so good, Caramel vanilla coconut dessert but at the same time not gourmand or too sweet. It smells incredible on my skin. The incense gives it some depth. Backup bottle worthy.

It opens like a pickly weir perfume kinda a watery santal 33 but be patient the drydown is very similar to vanilla powder with a little less vanilla and musk but still very good!

This is a strong, masculine leaning but unisex vanilla. It has a detergent edge which I really like but many may not. I'm a woman but I like wearing some unisex scents. This to me is like the "boyfriend jean" of perfume; a product made for women, but it makes me feel like I've stolen my husband's cologne which is unique balance that I like and almost never find. I get mostly vanilla and that strong detergent like amber/coconut note which I enjoy, but is clearly polarizing. It is slightly sweet but barely, and there are barely any florals, maybe juuust a touch. Overall I really enjoy it! I don't disagree that the notes here describe what the juice actually smells like, but here are the notes on the box: Coconut Magnolia Caramel Amber Update: My husband said this smells like "the mall" and I find that perfectly accurate.

Upon the first spray, I was kind of surprised. It wasn’t really what I expected. In general, when I hear ‘coconut’ I feel like I expect something more coconut dominant, which this one isn’t really that to me. I was also kind of wondering if it would really work well in the summer – which usually, coconut centered fragrances would be the best match for summer. With all of the notes together, it was kind of hard to imagine what it would smell like anyway. Later, the saltiness sets in pretty quickly. Surprisingly, it appears to me that that saltiness actually makes it more summery to me, giving it some kind of marine vibe. It’s not too cloying to me for warmer weather, but it would be good year round. The amber in this is definitely recognizable to me as the typical “Zara amber”. Likable, unisex and enjoyable!

I hate to admit it, but I also prefer this to the original vanilla powder. Not the scent itself (not as well blended, more sweet) but I actually prefer that this isn’t as nuclear. Is vanilla powder an exceptional masterpiece of sillage? Yes. Even I agree as a self confessed sillage queen. However, it’s literally bled into my towels, sheets and clothes and it’s just too much! And the price tag is just so steep when this is sitting here staring at me, so close in scent. It’s go that caramel sweetness that I adore in Vanilla powder, far less coconut though. If you like a cooler sweet perfume over a baked gourmand, you will love this. My new day time signature that will be taking Vanilla powders spot until I marry rich.

This is LONG. LASTING; I sprayed this on yesterday at 10 PM— it's been over 12 hours and I can still smell it. I was gifted a bottle of this because the friend who bought it for herself in the first place is vanilla-obsessed, but in a gourmand way. This one isn't for the gourmand freaks (with love). The vanilla in there shows up as just the subtlest hint of smoky sweetness. I believe that all scents are unisex but this one is outright androgynous; this is a sexy, elegant man or butch person who can wear the shit out of a suit and a big watch, browsing inside a dimly lit men's clothing store. It is also for above-30s who are confident or have a tendency to brood, people who wear mostly black, and cooler weather.

It pleasantly surprised me from the very first try thanks to the coconut note. I must admit it's much more appealing in the opening – more feminine – and later develops a slightly more masculine nuance, yet still maintains feminine undertones. I think it's the most impressive perfume from Zara in terms of quality and longevity (I could still smell it on my skin the next day, even though I tried to wipe it off). It truly smells like a niche fragrance. It's more subtle, yet long-lasting. Sophisticated, but simple through its notes. It smells expensive. I wanted it in my collection – I don’t think it would suit just anyone, but it’s definitely something special and beautiful.
