Incense Sunset

Sex in a bottle. THE MOST ATTRACTIVE SCENT MY BOYFRIEND WEARS... EVERY TIME I SMELL THIS ON HIM IT’S OVER. Between me and my boyfriend we have over 40 perfumes and don’t react as strongly to any other one as I do to this. I am just completely drawn to it and lean in to smell it every time he wears it. It’s the closest you’ll get to those male perfume ads where the women chase the guy down to smell him😂. It is also a beast performer with incredible sillage and projection. You can’t ask for better, ESPECIALLY at the price point (yes, even with the Zara UK price hikes). I love it so much I forced my Boyfriend to buy a backup bottle because I don’t think I would ever want him to be without this. He has designer fragrances and not a single one comes close to this. This is another level of sexy, it is just smoky and addictive. This is absolutely for sexy, confident people, both men and women for sure. It’s so unique... sort of like the BEST citrus you have ever smelt. I don’t think everyone will like this but you’re missing out if you don’t. This is absolutely worth trying, it is complex and just sexy. It’s not feminine or masculine, it’s just a mysterious, sexy smell that only sexy people can pull off😂. I have said sexy a ton of times because that is the only word I can think of that does this justice. I would wear this but it’s so good that I’d rather smell it on my boyfriend, and he discovered it first. If you want a his and hers I would recommend Arizona bloom from floral street, another unique unisex sexy fragrance. Absolutely get this and try this.

If I say now that I’m not sure if this was what I thought it would be, I feel kind of dumb because honestly, it is exactly what it’s described to be. On paper, it smells very citrus forward, but when you spray it on your skin, the main player is definitely the incense. I’m very surprised to read people saying it has no incense. Trust me, it does, and it’s the typical church incense. Which I never would imagine that incense and mandarin orange would be a good match... but damn, it really is. In my opinion, it’s a very good year round fragrance: even though the name sunset kind of implies a summery vibe, and a lot of people are voting this one as best for summer, I assume because of the mandarin orange, but it’s not a freshy. It’s also not cloying. You could literally wear it everywhere at every time, I feel. Especially because it kind of stays pretty close to the skin. This is also about as dark as I’ve known a Jo Malone fragrance to be: most of her compositions are usually bright and this one still is, but it has more of a bit of an edge, which is clearly the incense. It’s not a note that I would have expected fro ma Jo Malone fragrance, but it works wonderfully.

This scent is very interesting. I tested it a long time ago. I don’t remember exactly how the scent opens but I remember that it was bad, a bit too strong, citrusy and leather-like. I wanted to wipe it off but thank God I forgot to. When it dries down, it turns into a very cozy and soap-like scent. Not soapy as in clean soapy, but it’s like a masculine version of Lux Dream Delight soap/shower gel. It’s spicy, woody and soapy i this way. Not sure I’d buy it though because I find it too masculine for my liking and I won’t be able to use it so much. If there was a body cream version I would purchase it without a second thought since it will be good for layering.

Beautiful; orange rinds smoking over burning incense wood chips. There's a noticeable hint of metallic on the opening, the incense note is heavier as it dries. Great autumnal scent, it would work across all seasons except for summer as I think the incense might be a bit too heavy to enjoy. Sits just at arms' length, I get around 5 hrs on my skin with this, a touch longer on clothes.

Perfume in Zara on September 2025 Strong mandarin opening, with incense and little suede coming later then. The mandarin is very good and strong, and then come a suede, soa kind of Leather perfume. Good perfum, another win of Jo on a Zara perfume: another good one Jo! Great job, I've found a very good "nose"to learn from ;-) Notes: Mandarin, Incense, Cedarwood, and Suede

I got my Incense Sunset , love it from first moment. Citrusy, metallic, airy, not so much incense , smell more unisex ,I will wear it with pleasure, because citrus is different than in average. Today I was in niche parfume shop, and tryed La Cérémonie de l'Encens, and its so close to zara Incense Sunset

Love love love this perfume , I have many of the Zara x Jo Malone collaborations but this one , when ever I spray it on, I immediately say to myself ‘ mhhhhhh, this smell soooooo good ‘

This is spectacular. This is what perfumery is all about. This is what I thought Eau de Citron Noir Hermès would smell like.

Like enjoying a citrusy tea while watching the world turn to darkness

Not a blind buy--I had the candle and loved it so much I decided to get the fragrance. It is my first fragrance from Zara. This is a very bright citrus forward fragrance in the same vein as Cologne Cedrat from Nicolai. Oddly its similar in price too. However this screams Jo Malone as the talented nose behind this fragrance. It has a certain bite that I associate with her fragrances. I don't get mandarine in this--the citrus is very crisp and I generally associate mandarine with a sweeter citrus note. The cedar note is blended well into the fragrance and the incense is a subtle base note supporting and rounding out the cedar and citrus. A unisex fragrance that leans a tad masculine but not too much so. Also its a bit more long lasting than my other citrus fragrances. I get at least 3 hours before its a skin scent. 4-5 hours in total.

The initial blast is a very zesty sharp citrus-forward mandarin and minerals, like a citrus-flavoured fizzy mineral water. And when I say mineral water I don't mean the namby-pamby neutered carbonated tap water people these days pass off as "mineral water", but the vichy water or borjomi water, full of face-puckering sodium bicarbonate. One sip is a day's worth of sodium intake allowance. It's bracing and extremely refreshing, eventually drying down to a dry and woodsy scent. Desert is very apt, though I don't get any amber or warmth, it's a pretty austere and arid scent. I wasn't getting incense during first wears, but eventually I started getting whiffs of something incense-like, though to me it does not resemble anything close to a church incense. Like the rest in this line - an acquired taste and not a safe blind buy at all.

The 3-note description is helpful but not entirely accurate. This fragrance also smells of aldehydes. It's like a green, smoky chypre. The mandarin orange comes across like the zest rather than the pulpy, sweet segment. It smells like someone put mandarin zest on a piece of smouldering wood then bottled the smoke and added a dash of aldehydes. It's not a crowd pleaser but if you're a fan of the bitter, smoky and mature-smelling, green-leaning fragrances then you'll like this one. Not recommended as a blind buy. Good longevity and sillage. In my opinion, better for spring, autumn or air-conditioned environments.

Woody citrus forward perfume with a strong incense base, especially in the drydown where the incense really pops up. To my nose this is really dry and heavy. This is one of those nauseating perfumes which can shine in the summertime, as the citruses used here are on the bitter side and works well with the summer heat. It can also work nice during the autumn, as the overall smell is dense due to the balsamic, incense heavy base. This is one of those scent for which you need a certain mood in order to feel comfortable wearing it. I don’t think that this can be pulled by anyone, as the smell goes a bit abstract.

A pretty, natural smelling, cool incense as main note, with cedar undertones. The mandarin gives it a freshness, but it's not a sweet mandarin. It's the type of incense that is present in Sycomore, but there's no vetiver in this. No synthetic dry down, and pretty good performance for the price and Jo Malone-style. The first 3-4 hours the sillage is quite good and then it dries down to intimate sillage, but lasts quite a long time, like 6-8 hours. Suitable for fall and transitional seasons. Too light for cold winter. My favorite of out what I tested from this line (all except Ancestral Papyrus). 100% unisex.

mandarin orange, cedar wood, incense. only 3 simple notes yet so powerful. i know fragrances can be for anyone but this leans masculine. it's a very sexy scent. and a little note to those of you who have bubblegum, "ariana this ariana that", teeny-bopper fragrances in your collection (yes i've seen your profile): why bother leaving a review if you know this isn't your cup of tea? make it make sense please.

i mostly get soapy (from the suede?) citrus from this, with whiffs of incense that come and go. it's decent but i wish I hadn't blind bought it. i am not a fan of clean girl perfumes, but this will fill that itch when i want to wear that vibe. i can see myself using this when i crave something unique that isn't too pretty/feminine/floral but also don't want to stand out.

Starts off amazing with incense and green mandarines. Unfortunately it then falls apart and becomes a wreck. Dry down is so muddled and devoid of character. It's like the perfumer forgot to put a fixative/base for this, I don't get it. Still a good Zara perfume though.

Smells like someone burning a Palo Santo incense stick. Very tranquil and almost meditative. longevity is 7/10 because it doesn't last long unless you lather it with lotion and/or body oil.

Exactly what it says it is. Orange. Incense. Wood. Great for summer. Smells like Tygar to an extent. The drydown leaves much to be desired.

This smells like a man’s aftershave to me. I get no incense, just a really nice but strong woody scent with orange. I tried it several times because there is something about it that draws me. It is very dry and almost harsh. Then I layered Pink Sugar over it and it smells great, a little like licorice.
