Leather Jardin

I too grabbed this for just 12,00€ and I am very happy about it. It doesn't smell like a classic Jo Malone or Zara or like something belonging to a desert inspired collection, it has a chypre of old soul and a Guerlainesque beauty about it. It is a bitter, green and chypre leather, smoky, unruly but softly powdery. Dark and magnetic. What makes this special is that for a fraction of the price you have something similar to a type of chypre that at the moment only niche can give you, or Ebay when you go scouting olds Guerlain and the old chypre classics, since unfortunately their modern reformulations lack the glory of old. For instance new Cabotine and Chabochard or even Coriandre....you may find them for 10,00€ but where are the stale underwear animalics? Where is the dry oakmoss to the point of scratching your throat? The louminous aldehydes and bitter earthy galbanum? All gone. Luckly in this Zara x Jo Malone there is a generous dose of all of it! And with it there is Jo's contemporary energetic and alive touch, specially in the opening, which contrast beautifully with the dark and animal tinged leather. To clarify a bit my statements, I don't mean to say that this is overly complex or that it has the most qualitative ingredients, but for sure it is well done and nuanced to the point of reminding me of the allure of Guerlain Mitsouko edt but also the more floral Mitsouko extract which I am lucky to have. There is that same strong oakmoss with a bit of animalic that intertwined with the florals creates almost a sort of clean urinal facet, not strongly animalic but it is that classic "clean but stale" female underwear tone; granted in Leather Jardin it is more gentle and only passes by in the middle, the scent is still clean and then it sets on a leather base, but it is there, to the point of being reminded of the base of perfumes such as Cabotine by Gres, Paloma Picasso by Paloma Picasso, or Coriandre by Jean Coururier which truly had civet and castoreum in it, it hints at those and the hint is good enough for me. The flowers in Leather Jardin have the same soapy and powdery soul of those compositions and when they meet that stale oakmoss/animalic/leather/earthy base their cleanliness is highlighted even more. That is the main reason why I love old chypre, togheter with their use of aldehydes, oakmoss and strong earthy bases. Leather Jardin also remainded me of two of my old favorite perfumes: it has almost the same greenery of Guerlain Vol de Nuit, the galbanum in Leather Jardin is more bitter but in the dry down it gets almost balmy and powdery as in Vol de Nuit (I have all the version of it, extract included, and I swear on it!); the second one is Atelier by Sergio Soldano, the rose in Leather Jardin almost seems to be accompanied by aldehydes to the point of being soapy like that one (another that comes to mind is Cheap&Chic og by Moschino, they are not chypre but had a 90's soapy flowers that are difficult to find to this day). If you want an idea of how it smells as a whole I would say Leather Jardin reminds strongly of classics such as Chabochard by Gres and Aromatic Elixir (og) by Clinique. The declared notes are as always only three, but this is much more complex then that. It opens with a very light citrus but I don't smell proper grapefruit a la Jo Malone, there is a fresh aldehydes sensation in this grapefruit and then it explodes in green! There is undeniably galbanum in here, a little bitter at first but it mellows and becomes powdery in the dry down. The greenery is more complex then just galbanum in the opening, so maybe angelica or artemisia or better yet basil could have been included because the general effect is multifaceted, fresh green and earthy. The heart is of flowers, rose most of all but also jasmine I believe, and something that smells purple (I can not be sure but it may be something like lilac, or violet, or hyacinth), but the rose is the most strong, I would not be surprised if a bit of geranium was in there too, they act both soapy and powdery. Soapy like the old chypre and powdery like a Guerlain chypre, actually this type of powder remainded me of Felce Azzurra by Paglieri or Paglieri Essenza Autentica, that type of powder that has oakmoss and greenery as a base. As I was saying before, in between the clean and airy florals you can feel a little of dirty base, whether it comes from the leather or a touch of animalic notes, I am again not sure, but the effect is there. The leather comes out already in the opening but develops and enriches as the scent enters the mid stage; it is smooth and suede like at tracts, there are moments in which it smells slightly more animalic and dirty but never like Irish Laether by Memo or even Zara's own Full Moon Over the Desert, in here it's softened out to create the effect that an old, good lether bag may have. There is a tar quality in some moments but it is just a facet, not the soul of the leather accord. This is a type of leather I can wear with no problem, it's not abrasive at all, or scratchy or ashy or strong. It's classic. There is a ton of oakmoss from start to finish, it is an ode to it, and it is the kind that is dry and airy, it will make your throat a little dry too. This is lovely, simply lovely, because creates the perfect base for the flowers, which came out powdery and airy. It doesn't smell like an ugly chemical oakmoss to me, nor like Zara usual evernyl...how the hell did they manage at this price? The base is completed by something that smells earthy like vetiver and also by something slightly oriental/ambery and smoky, softly balsam like with facets of underwoods, there is that softly powdery quality that smells like fresh incense a bit, and probably some iris too, from this I am reminded of Vol de Nuit by Guerlain because the galbanum rescts beautifully with it (this powdery balmy bit is also reminiscent of the ending of Roma by Laura Biaggiotti, the original formula, although less soft and concentrated). Of course Vol de Nuit is dreamy and etherial while Leather Jardin, as Miguel Matos said in his review, is almost arrogant in terms of vibes, very assured. I am head over heel about this, to the point that if I was not alredy drowning in Zara bottles and various niche decants I would have bought a backup, specially at this discounted price. You have to have a taste for old classic, that much is sure...I don't think Zara target enjoyed this that much...and even between perfume lovers vintage style perfumes are an acquired taste. In Italy scent like this one will either appear extremely elegant and niche or too old style and démodé. I am in the crowds that appreciates them since I grow up with them, and I think that if worn with style and personality they have a huge effect! This is something in my imagination someone like Marlene Dietrich would have worn, I know she liked violette based perfumes but some source say she used Vol de Nuit too, she seemed to like unisex attire and a perfume like this would fit that style very well in my opinion. Lasting power and projection are good too, lasted me for about 6 to 7 hours, projecting strongly and dry down was just unwashable. Packaging is of my liking, usual essential lines but I like the gold cap, nice touch since it was a collection inspired by Middle Eastern opulence. So sorry I could not try Ancestral Papyrus. Edit: could the slightly animalic tone be because of cumin? And am I mistaken or there is a strange spicy undertone in the base that can be felt specially in the opening?

ZARA'S CONCEPTS OF PRICE, COST AND VALUE The world of perfumes, as a hobby or personal passion, can be much more complicated than what is perceived by the rest of humanity, which is more or less agnostic towards elaborate scents. Together with other characteristics, aromatic or style, the concepts of Price and Value arise whenever we want to make a diagnosis about a perfume. The concept of Cost may also arise, but not as often as the other two. The most important distinction between Price and Value is the fact that Price is arbitrary, while Value is fundamental. Price is synonymous with hard cash. It is the exact amount a buyer must pay to purchase a product. Value, on the other hand, is more difficult to measure. It is the sometimes ethereal perception of the merit of the product in the mind of the buyer. The "least important" Cost is the amount the seller has to incur to produce and put the product up for sale. Finding differences between Price and Value, is the most effective strategy for an investment, even if we are talking about a "simple" perfume bottle. Bandit, Fracas, Cabochard, Mitsouko, Shalimar, Eau du Soir, Paloma Picasso, Halston Z-14 and Zara Exclusive N°04 - Leather Jardin, present themselves as examples of perfumes with a rather different Cost, a huge difference in Price and, to my amazement, a small difference in Value. This statement is certainly the result of my perception of Value and does not necessarily have to be yours. Since they seem to be such dissimilar perfumes so far, I have to find common characteristics to group them together. Let me explain my perspective on their common characteristics: - I really, really like all of them, so they must all have great Value for me. - ALMOST all of them are Leather or Chypre fragrances and most of them are Leather-Chypre fragrances made with premium ingredients. So their Costs and Prices must be quite high. - ALMOST all of them, whether the perfumes mentioned or their previous batches or ancestors, are fragrances with a temporally extensive market course, besides being quite famous. So they must be quite "old", though not necessarily "old-fashioned". ... But why the word "ALMOST"? The answer is easy! One is a new product. It also has a low Cost, a low Price, and is only on par with the others because it has a very high Value to me. The Zara Exclusive N°04 - Leather Jardin is a very recent product but its soul belongs to another era. It is a very hardcore coriatic Cyprus with an attitude the size of its creator, Jo Malone. It's a perfume I really like and it doesn't need to be catchy for anyone else because I'm not wearing it to wring out compliments. But a good place to start is that this very perfume appeals to both my wife and I. Zara Exclusive N°04 - Leather Jardin is a throwback to the style and fashion calendar. The perfume has a touch of arrogance and rudeness like many other leather Chypres. It is so well constructed that it comes across as an intriguing perfume for being so cheap. When it comes to the smell, I can't quite define exact notes. The scent is reasonably complex although only three notes are listed by Zara. The fragrance starts with a soapy, luscious freshness made of grapefruit and aldehydes. It has a floral chord in the heart, perhaps centred on the rose note, but it ends up being a bit undefined in terms of concrete notes. The base proposes a dry, bedraggled but captivating leather chord. For the Price, I'm sure the bottle contents are 100% synthetic, as probably all Zara's low-cost fragrances are, but I assure you it doesn't smell cheap at all. It has exceptional Value. I have been pretty impressed overall with Jo Malone's creations for Zara - while they are simple and, frankly, unoriginal compositions, they are good quality bargains. I have heard a lot of good things about Leather Jardin, so I blind-bought a large bottle (no samples or testers were available here). €25 for 90ml, it was worth the risk. I was disappointed with Incense Sunset from the same line, but thankfully the risk here paid off - LJ is a very decent leather chypre. It is a simple, unisex chypre - slightly green, slightly floral with a nice leather base. The leather here is brown, soft and worn - like an old couch - realistic and satisfying. It isn't animalic. LJ opens with a bright bergamot note, with the leather note slowly developing underneath. There is a grassy greenness to it, alongside a hint of powdery florals. It is airy and light, despite the leather. It fades to a musky leather-rose skin scent. Sillage and longevity are moderate. Unisex and transeasonal, it is an easy everyday scent. I sprayed Cabochard on my other wrist for comparison purposes - they are very similar, ruled by the same worn brown leather note. Cabochard is more complex and challenging - darker, smokier, earthier and spicier, but both are classic leather chypres (particularly when Cabochard settles). Cabochard is very vintage in style, and won't suit many modern tastes, but LJ is a great modern leather chypre with mass appeal. I love both. 4/5.

So well done and so hard to wear! Leather Jardin comes here from the late 60's with its time machine, because it's hard to think that this fragrance it's a modern release. I have many vintages but this is REALLY vintage in the dna. Green notes, rose, patchouli and leather in an old-fashioned style. This is quite unique but reminds some old scents like the original aramis, monsieur lanvin or others of that age. The blend of this chypre is done extremely well, it doesnt smell cheap at all(great quality for only 20-25€). The cons of leather Jardin is the versatility: this is only for people over 45-50 and requires the right outfit and the right occasion. So for me this is a good addition to my collection but i dont think i will use it very often. For the price paid im ok with that, the smell is Amazing for my taste but it's not Easy to wear. Very brave release from Zara and conpliment to jo Malone! Leather Jardin è un profumo fortemente retrò, un potente cypre in stile anni 60-70. Read an article on this here platform by Miguel Matos and instantly gravitated towards checking it out. Unfortunately couldn't find it in my region and had to call in a favour from a friend, so I essentially blind bought it (for the price USD 40, it wasn't that big of an issue). As it is, one of my best blind buys easily. A green vintage leather fragrance with the performance to boot. Due to my earlier experience with Zara frags and their atrocious performance, I tend to steer clear, however this is one is a no-brainer for vintage fragrance fans. The website lists only three notes, and I don't think it develops in terms of any sort of complexity. Its starts of fresh akin to the OG Estee Lauder for men and the rose and leather notes, merge to project a greenery sort of vibe. This is not a standard leather scent and more of a green scent in the same vein of Estee Lauder for men, VCA Pour Homme, etc. The longevity is quite good and for the price, the scent does not feel synthetic at all. This is a fragrance I reach out for regularly nowdays. All seasonal scent? For sure Unisex? IMO More masculine Blind buy worthy? If you like vintage green scents like Estee Lauder for men, definitely Performance? Longevity is quite good around 7 to 8 hours with decent projection.

So, my brother surprised me with Zara Leather Jardin, and I gotta admit, I was skeptical at first. I mean, Zara fragrances usually smell synthetic and kinda overbearing, you know? But man, was I in for a surprise. I gave it a spritz on my hand, and right away, I was impressed. It's potent, but what got me hooked was that it didn't rely on sweetness or vanilla to cover up anything—it was the real deal. The next day, I decided to give it a proper wear, and let me tell you, I'm sold. It's like a blast from the past, with this cool retro vibe from the 70s or 80s. You know those old-school perfumes with a million notes that you can't quite pin down? That's the vibe here—hazy and mysterious. You can definitely pick up on the leathery vibe, something floral and green in the middle, and a citrusy top with earthy undertones in the background. It's nostalgic in the best way possible. This scent is for the confident folks out there, whether you're a guy or a gal. And the fact that it's not just another people-pleaser fragrance really impresses me, especially coming from a mainstream fashion brand like Zara. Bottom line? Leather Jardin is THE fragrance to get at Zara for all you perfumenistas. To be honest, I disliked it at first spray not because it wasn't a beautiful perfume but because it felt so out of place in the sea of lackluster fragrances offered by Zara. I simply did not expect to smell something like this at a fast fashion outlet. I wasn't mentally prepared to be sniffing a floral leather reminiscent of so many classics that came before it. I kept the blotter with me, and man was I glad I did. The dry down was equally exquisite. More streamlined, and drier. It was austere, but not unkind. I knew instantly I would have to go back to try it out on skin. And so I did. Several times actually before I finally convinced myself to rid of the mindset biasedly embedded in me that brand and price equate to quality and bought a bottle. In the post pandemic world, the perfume bubble has got every participant to go cray cray. Brands raise the price on everything including some really crappy perfumes, and consumers just eat it all up. Nom nom. Leather Jardin proves that one does not have to spend a fortune(I'm looking at you Estee Lauder group, Dior, Chanel, and many new niche brands) to enjoy a decent fragrance. Smelling good is a human right.

Oh wow this took me by surprise at the Zara store. I grabbed it right away after the first sniff! So interesting and complex and classic, but with a delightful modern touch. If you crush a bunch of rose petals (stems, leaves and all), mix them with some of the dirt of the bed they grew in, stuff them in the pocket of your old leather jacket...you'll get something approximating this fragrance. There’s also a freshness and prettiness to the whole thing (perhaps it’s the grapefruit? though I would say it's more like grapefruit leaves). I own quiet a few classic chypres and Leather Jardin is both familiar and also a refreshing departure from its predecessors. It really reminds me of my aunts’ perfumes from the 80s but I can also see some kind of modern daring fashion girl rock this successfully. I love the leather, the citrus, the hint of tobacco (or maybe just the aura of tobacco because this style of chypre perfume was often found on a beautiful chic smoker). And please, do not look for a “garden” here, if you’re into light and flowery things. This fragrance is beautiful and rosey in a very dark and dirty tone. But if you’re into that (like me) then you will not go wrong. Either way what a steal! Go get it.

This was a blind buy during one of the sales and at the first spray I regretted it. But over time this has grown on me and has become one of my favourite fragrances, so much so, i want to keep this forever (why does zara discontinue its gems so soon?) I am not a big frag-head and cant tell all the notes. This one was so new to me that it sent me on a journey. I learnt about chypres, their notes, their history and other good ones in the market. This is SO green! Everytime i wear this, i picture a little damp place in a forest, i am cutting the stems of very dark roses, probably to arrange in a vase, which lies next to a leather-lined trunk/coffin. This is a beast; 10+ hours on skin, if you spray on your pulse points. I have oily skin and i can smell it even after 14 hrs. Definitely masculine leaning but i am a sucker for these kind of bold, unapologetic perfumes. I feel like i am a member of some biker gang , wearing a leather jacket and a white shirt underneath w black jeans and boots. Its just so vivid. I am constantly on the lookout for more fragrances like this one. I do not gravitate towards the sweet syrupy rose as in rose gourmand. This was a pleasant surprise from zara.

The late eighties and early nineties were a magical time in India. The market was just opening up and everyone with good taste finally got to live a lifestyle that communicated that taste. My uncle (dad's younger brother) used to live with us and I was just a small kid. Both men were absolutely fit gentlemen then - my uncle loved wearing suspenders and my dad looked like he was the leader of an Italian mob outfit. Their aftershave, their perfumes all had this rugged leather + spices smell to them that communicated their confident masculinity. Think chest hair, mustaches, beards and classic shirts, trousers and suits. That's how this smells - with its old school leather, bold citrus and spicy floral in perfect harmony... Smelling this took me back - to a childhood when things were simple. And I had masculine role models at home to make me feel safe and to aspire to. It smells of a time when we were young families with dreams in our eyes, hunger to challenge the world and the naivete and energy of adult-youth. With this perfume in hand, I take a whiff, close my eyes and relive the past and all the potential it held. This is magic. 10/10

Initial impressions, holy GAWD this is good. Ordered 3 bottles of the 75 mL re-release during their clearance and 2 of them were cancelled for some reason. I guess they over sold it? W/e. From the first spray on paper, I immediately got Habit Rouge vibes minus the vanilla, but after about 10 minutes, it's very similar to Patchouli Intense from Nicolai. Incredibly similar in fact, albeit less balmy and with a richer top. If you love that fragrance like I do, don't even hesitate on this one. Was originally expecting more cigarette-ashy IBQ, but it's actually a very smooth rose patchouli. Nowhere near the ubiquitous Tom Ford-esque leather accord either. Quite sure a lot of guys would vote this as more fem, but I just friggin' love it. An instant love - which is super rare for a Zara frag. Kinda bummed my backups didn't come in now. Maybe they'll re-release it again this year? At a higher price no doubt. :S Anyway, I'll have to do some more testing, but so far, it's 3 thumbs up! Hang on...that's not a thumb.

Most reviews here don't do any justice ! Please ignore them ! This wonderful, crafty scent, reminding of 60ies and 70ies, smells way beyond expectations ! It is a decadent yet elegant version of known classics and smells incredibly expensive. It reminds of Caleche, and KELLY CALECHE by Hermes ( floral leather scent ), Un Jardin Sur La Lagune Hermès and an old Shalimar by Guerlain, Leathery Acqua di Parma and even Bottega Veneta. People who comment here may not understand or are not able to appreciate this wonderful, elegant and classy scent. It is retro, both scent and the bottle ( with its orange box and masculine looking bottle like from 70ies). Powdery leather, with a floral touch, timeless and unapologetic. With this you should wear a 70ies dress with leather boots and fur or heavy wool scarf. You can also wear a silk blouse and a leather jacket with a nice french scarf. It is not for a typical teenager or a commercial taste.

تصميم جو مالون و انتاج زارا.. المقدمة حادة مرة مع الجريب فروت تستمر لدقائق معدودة فقط ثم تهدا لتظهر بعدها رائحة الجلود قوية نفاذة (للتوضيح الجلود هنا ليست جلود توسكان ليذر ولا ديور أوم..) هي تلك المدخنة الداكنة، فيها لمسة انيمالك ، لكنها آسرة، مسيطرة تهدا بالتدريج لتظهر رائحة زهرية باودرية خضراء و يستقر العطر في قاعدة رائعة تدوم ساعات طويلة. نوتات العطر المصرح بها هي الجريبفروت، الورد و الجلود لكن البتشولي و العنبر و الراتنجيات ظاهرة بوضوح في قلب العطر و القاعدة.. لم افهم كيف لجو مالون اليوم ان تطرح هذا العطر في الأسواق، و كيف اتجهت عكس التيارات السائدة و كسرت قاعدة الأمان التي تتبعها زارا منذ بدايتها بل حتى شذت عن العطور المألوفة اليوم لتضع عطرا يعيدنا لعطور السبعينات و الثمانينات ايام كرستال شانيل، ماجي نوار و ميتسوكو و الكثير من عطور الشيبر الكلاسيكية المفتقدة.. الجودة و الأداء اكثر من ممتازين، و لو كان هذا العطر ضمن مجموعة دار مالون الخاصة لكان ثمنه فاق المئة يورو..

Heads up - Seems that my psychic skills are improving. Just saw that Zara will be re-releasing it YET again in 2024, only now in the Silent Flowers bottle style (100 mL) and in a darker colour. Really like the new look. Unfortunately, it also looks like the price will be on par with the Silent Flowers collection, which is more than double the price of the original 2021 release. Not sure if they changed the formula, but maybe someone in the future will let us know. For those who missed out on the previous versions, it might just be cheaper getting Cabochard edp at this point, barring another clearance sometime during the year. The quality of the two is comparable; although like I said, maybe they improved on the formula this time around. Seems like brands are really trying to justify the new prices by stepping up the presentation.

This my lovely friends, is a Frederic Malle 400 euro perfume disguised as Zara. This is not for everybody, this is NOT a safe blind buy, this is not a pretty smelling scent, this is not what you are expecting. It's magic. It's strong and loud. It's green and dark. It's aldehydes and 15 ingredients more than stated in the pyramid above. Rose, yes but two different kinds, a white young rose and a red rotting one together with their thorns and stems. Moss. A sprinkle of flowers from Cacharel's Eden. A piece of leather from garden/jardin of Hermes. A drop of the old Guerlain Mitsuko and two drops of Chanel no5. A couple of rainy days from 1951. This is a masterpiece and i hope Zara perfume gods continue to do this once a year and gift us again with 25 euro of pure niche nostalgia.

For 25 euros, I got this banger, which, if you told me it was by Dusita and cost 250 euros, for example, I'd totally believe it. Wonderful! It rectifies the screeching, cheesey, aldehydic nightmare of Cabochard, rendering the same concept as a delicate but tenacious shimmering haze of leather, rose and citrus. It reminds me of Shalimar without the vanillic sweetness, perhaps the Philtre de Parfum without the sweetness and with a gentle leather reintroduced. The floral element is beautifully crafted and reminds me of Dusita's green florals, though toned down skank-wise. That's not to say there's no animalic edge, there is, but its Guerlain-like in it's sheerness and beauty. This is a unique masterpiece, in my opinion.

This is a spiritual fragrance. I don't think it has a gender. Very natural impression no stinky synthetics can be percieved. Base notes are hidden under the notion of "leather" and kept in secret, but I tell you they are oakmoss and galbanum which are deeply sacred plants. Rose is also one of them. Grapefruit gives a lightness at the beginning and creates the form for a chypre. You can call it like that but it's more modern and spiritual at the same time and the drydown is also beautiful, changing with time and has a warm and tender character. A real unicorn on the contemporary fast perfumery palette of Zara. BUT definitely not for everyone!

For me, the trick was spraying it on my clothes rather than my skin. I love the smell right out of the bottle but within 10 minutes on my skin the top notes disappear and I'm left with a new, rubber tire smell (think Bulgari Black) - not a bad thing but not what I'm into personally. On my clothes? I can't get enough of myself. And yes, maybe it's my age. The older I get the more I'm drawn to unisex fragrances that are interesting. I'm less concerned with smelling "pretty and inoffensive" and more interested in wearing a fragrance that please me and me alone. Can't beat it; especially at this price point.

Probably the strongest Zara fragrance that I ever tried. It’s quite potent on the first spray and noticeably the longevity level is great which is not typical of Zara frags. Leans more masculine and I understand this is an offering from Zara and Jo Malone. First spray, I didn’t get it but I gave it some time and yes there’s a certain uniqueness to it that I like. A good leather fragrance for collection but not a mass appealing scent I must say. But let me give it a few more wearings because to my nose it’s very promising. Try before you buy 😉 9/10 👌 Update: Give it some time and let the magic happen 😉👌

I just CANNOT wait to sample this!! If it reminds others of 4 of my favorite fragrances--Magie Noire, Cabochard, Aromatics Elixir, and Knowing--I simply can't imagine that I won't like this. Will report back, of course, after my order has delivered. Edit: really nice! Reminds me of Cabochard EdT. Unisex. Leathery and floral, I don't get a distinct rose, or a grapefruit note, although it's less dry than the typical bergamot found in chypres. There's surely more notes than just those three; the drydown is herbal and warm. Good projection, & longevity is unbelievable, both far exceeding my expectations.

The reminds me of are spot on. I’d also add Guilty Absolute. And from Zara no less! Above all, a leather fragrance with an emphasis on leather. The rest of the notes are incomplete as there’s moss and subtle powdery/floral notes. And no woody aromachemicals in sight. A true delight for lovers of vintage powerhouses, this packs a major and long lasting punch. The closest scent would be Cabochard to my nose, although I can sense many more in a fleeting manner. Very well done, and even the new round bottle with the white label is top notch. I have the first release and can’t sense much difference.

STUNNING! Never thought ZARA could release a perfume like this. Bought a 5ml decant and soon as I sniffed it the first time I was squealing OMG. Instantly bought the full bottle the next day. Living in the tropic and this is also perfect as day fragrance, it feels humid but never suffocating. Just gave me amazing feeling. Huge projection for the first 1 hour and then fleeting beautifully for solid next hours. Curious what kind of perfume suited best to layer with this beauty. EDIT (5/15/23): layers beautifully with Chanel Jersey EDT...wow. Will try to layer with No. 5 EDT next. ❤️❤️❤️

Retro greenish leathery perfume with a lot of character. I don't get any grapefruit or rose in it; just vetiver like greeness, dry tobacco and leather (not the sour freshly treated leather but an old cured one). Very beautiful and classy in a special way (the red lips and nails, big jewelery classy type , not the dainty chic beige pink one). But it must suit you to wear it. And no, it doesn't smell like aromatic elixir (aromatic elixir smells like walking by a medicinal herb shop where you can smell dry green herbs and tiger balm and other oriental/middle eastern products).

I visited perfume shelf in Zara shop without any of expectation.Wow! what a nice surprises to find this little Gems Classic Vintage vibe with green, leathery and spicy cumin This one is very unique compared to any of perfume in Zara shop and very well blended some how its smell almost like some beautiful vintage Chypre or some expensive niche perfumes That I owned or tried some samples so Zara you just gave me an offer I can’t refuse. Ps.you have to like vintage Chypre perfume to begin with so you will really enjoy this one.

I think the grapefruit note is a game changer here, it only modernizes and enhances the leather aspect so it smells more fun and enticing. I couldn’t agree more with Miguel’s review highlighting this as a stunning fragrance with vintage quality. Leather Jardin reminds me of some green earthy chypre perfumes, but to my nose it mostly recalls Myths Amouage woman due to its sharp metallic and musty facet especially in the early phase. And yes, this perfume is successfully winning my heart.

I am usually not a huge fan of Zara fragrances but this line is just beautifully done. And this one especially is my favorite. It has a very good performance. But I've seen that everybody complimented it for a different note. Even if the price is very good I would not suggest it as a blind buy, it has character and that character may not fit with yours. Overall I am very pleased and surprised that Zara created this beautiful fragrance.

A surprising release by Zara. Hated it initially, but gradually it has become one of most loved among my collections. Classic, bold, sophisticated, and an absolute statement. Well done! Update: This is by no means easy to wear, but I cannot get enough. Sometimes I feel the perfume is wearing me, and that is ok. Alter ego perhaps?! Leather Jardin is a mountain. There will be a climb, but the view is stunning in the end.

found this yesterday in the women's section of Zara. I'm a guy. I sprayed a bit on my wrist and then went to the food court to eat. After I was done eating I went back to Zara and bought it because I kept smelling it and loved it. 2 sprays on my arm before going to bed last night and now, 10 hours later I can still smell it, it's subtle but it's there. Great scent, great performance.

You definitely get the grapefruit, rose and leather and they're all really well-balanced. There's also a strong spicy note and something herbal (maybe mint or basil) but it's hard to tell what exactly it is, as this is a really well blended scent. It turns a bit soapy once you get into the drydown. Surprised by the quality for this price. Will buy a couple of backup bottles of this.

This smells wonderful! Leather Jardin is (one of) the most bold, unique, rich and beautiful Zara fragrances I have ever come across. It is unisex but in my experience it's more masculine than feminine. It has been mentioned before, don't underestimate the strength of this juice. My advice: Be gentle with the amount of sprays and enjoy ;)

Perhaps the best Zara fragrance ever! Great performance, amazing smell, kinda of unique for Zara , not for everyone. Green earth leather. It has a herbal touch to it. I like magie noir and they are similar but not the same. I love wearing this with my leather jacket on a cold autumn day. Definitely cold weather fragrance.

I wasn’t sure at first, but wow this is a beautiful perfume. The dominant scent is leather and it lasts from beginning to dry down, but like others have said, there’s a smokey ash, waxy rose and light citrus accord. I think this would layer really well with citrus notes, but it’s also perfect as is. I love it.

I don't care what those major perfume reviwers said. This fragrance is absolutely stunning! It smells so expensive and unique. I own Eau du Soir and love it! This is a great alternative for those who appreciate a green aromatic scent. It is old school and vintage smelling, not a safe blind buy.

For the price, this is a pure steal. I mean, you get a really good green, vintage smell. It's got decent longevity (for the price) and it's just an old school classy fragrance. Sure, it's not for everyone, but I wear it for myself and I enjoy it. It's leaning more masculine, if you ask me.

Smells great on my boyfriend, I'm not able to wear grapefruit notes well, so this was transferred to his collection. Aramis, Cabochard, the NEW Magie Noire, & Knowing all come to mind. Very good modern cologne pointing directly towards the 60s green leather chypres.

I really wanted to like this based on all the positive reviews, but sadly I hated it. The leather is very musky, and there is definitely oak moss in there but not listed. I can best describe this to be similar to Khiels Musk. Longeviety is great, just not for me.

Great job, Jo Malone! It reminds me so much of Knowing , such a classic, mature scent. Very soapy with a hint of florals, I love this! Wonderful 8+ hour of longevity on skin. Moderate sillage. It's ridiculously expensive here and worth every dime.

This is such a shock coming from ZARA. Not modern at all, has a real vintage feel which is seldom seen in modern mainstream releases. Green, vintage leather-chypre for high street prices, worth a sniff if you like those scents.

Was just in Zara in Barcelona and they've got this in the men's section now in a new black and gold box. Same bottle design and scent as I bought in a white box from the women's section in Germany a few weeks ago.

Finally I have it in my hands! I'm so into vintage green chypres that when I ordered it I was more that sure that I would like it. And today I confirm that this little modern gem can easily compete against some of the chypre legends of the past. However the sense of smell is unique for each one of us! Most members here talk about Cabochard, Aramis and Magie Noire. I can see a little resemblance to them but to my nose and on my skin this is like a strong combination of Original Miss Dior and/or Rochas Femme with Eau de Lancaster. On the other hand I'm very skeptical about the (only) 3 notes listed above. I think this is impossible. Anyone could smell oakmoss (or a synthetic type of moss) here and maybe some herbs and spices (cumin?) too, which give this warm feeling to the fragrance. As I get some more whiffs from my wrist I feel that there is also a hint of tobacco somewhere in the mix and something else -difficult to describe- that makes the whole composition more earthy. Anyway, I really like it and I find it perfect for these humid days of spring and for fall as well. Oh and I also can't wait to smell it on a man. I'm sure it 'll be amazing!
