Linen Musk

I must say I’m not a fan of zesty scent but there’s something about this fragrance that I keep smelling it and coming back for more. I got it after I tested it in store and sprayed it on the box, left it in the living room. I could smell it from a different room, the projection is amazing! At first note opens very bergamot sharp zesty , follows w frangipani to give that creamy floral note before the amber bind the scent in this cloud of bright sunshine when your laundry is being hung to dry, clean and uplifting for 6 hours on me.

I like the opening its very fragrant, smells clean, refreshing , sweet like candy yet floral I would wear this In the Night during Spring , It reminds me the intensity of Fantasy by Britney Spears so I must say its pretty much Juvenile , even tho I love the smell Im aware its scandalous so Im very demure with this one, friends have told me the smell suffocates them.

The opening is quite ok, fresh and a hint of musk but then it turns into Amber Fusion 1-on-1. A definite scrubber, so strong and screechy, had nothing to do with linen or musk. I tested this yesterday afternoon on my wrist, had a shower in the evening and this morning while brushing her teeth (with my arm I tested it on) my daugther says 'Iewww what is that stinky smell??'

@Frabra88 - Your username stuck with me from another review, again about Ambroxan but I guess it is actually aimed at a certain group of ingredients that are impossible to escape nowadays, a group called super woody ambers. No one should think so negatively about Ambroxan based on ill-informed reviews. Instead follow this logic: Do you think you hate Ambroxan? Then you must really hate Escentric Molecules - Molecule 02, if at all you are able to smell it. Do you like Molecule 02 but think you still hate Ambroxan, maybe only in certain blends? Then most likely what you actually hate are woody ambers, like many people, as they are proven to cause literal face/nose/throat/sinus pain-like sensation and have completely different scents, effects, profiles compared to Ambroxan and its derivatives. Ambroxan is mild, long lasting, smooth, not easy to smell, it is even harder to pinpoint in a fragrance blend (even for perfumery-trained noses). On the other hand, woody ambers can often be pinpointed by most regular perfume consumers from miles away in a split second. Quoting Matvey Yudov of Fragrantica as it is well summarized - you may find the full blog article with a quick search "There is a strange tendency to declare any aggressive amber-woody profile as ambroxan. I would be more careful here: ambroxan itself is a rather delicate material with a mild trigeminal effect (the notorious itching in the nose), there is a little hostile steroid in it, and it blends perfectly with the landscape so that you can’t immediately feel it. Even in a large dosage, it is more of a "blender" - it makes the composition more rounded and "perfumed" without coming to the fore itself. Yes, you can learn to isolate ambroxan in a mixture, even in trace amounts, but if we are talking about something invasive and heart-rendingly screaming, then this is most likely not ambroxan but something else. At least it's not the only one."

As I've mentioned in my reviews for other Zara fragrances, I'm very anti fast fashion, so my Zara purchases are still limited to a dress, a hat, and pair of earrings. Zara perfumes are for the most part exactly as you would imagine, most provide a quick hit but do not endure. The big exception are the Zara fragrances that were created by Jo Malone, which are excellent and in some cases quite lasting. Most recently I was intrigued by their Applejuice fragrance, which they have been selling since 2012, but found it disappointing. Despite being let down by Applejuice, I had been wanting to try Linen Musk since it was launched last year, and read in a review from beauty journalist Sali Hughes that this was one was "the best of the bunch" from Zara's musk collection. Like their fashions, Zara's fragrances quickly come and go, so this one seemed to disappear for a while but when it was brought back, I jumped on it. This is a simple soft floral, and seems designed like many fragrances today to appeal to those who want something very subtle and unobtrusive. This is cheap but cheerful musk, very much in the spirt of Jovan's Musk for Her, in that it is very wearable in the spring and summer. Whereas other musk fragrances, such as Narciso Rodriguez Pure Musc or Juliette Has a Gun's Musc Invisible skew more winter, the inclusion of the frangipani note make this decidedly suited to warm weather. It's subtle, fresh, and pretty, like how one feels wearing no makeup and simple cotton t-shirt or linen button down.

This ambroxan trend will be the death of me...death of asphyxiation on a bus at 6am. Now...first batch of Zara Tender Amber, that was at least very well done with the florals and fruity touches shining on the juxtapositions of ambroxan (as I think it should be??), such a wonderful autumnal spin on Erba Pura! But wearing just a bomb of ambroxan, what is the sense in that? Maybe I am developing a true aversion to this molecule, and Linen Musk could be well done, but it was not my experience. I didn't distinguish any opening or middle, just choking ambroxan. I shall try again, to be fair, and update

Today I tested this new Zara fragrance. I don't know Erba Pura, so I can't say anything about a resemblance. Linen musk starts fresh and light but ends very bitter (and for me nauseating) because of the amberwood. I guess it's a really hip ingredient because I smell it everywhere nowadays. Really gros IMHO.

It hits you first with musk and bergamot, then dries down to a soft, sweet frangipani. Smells clean and airy — perfect for spring and summer.

It's a light version of Erba Pura, way better than Amber Fusion. Bought it as soon as I smelled it, amazing for the summer
