Mountain Woody Forest

Picked this up on sale for 10€. Had smelled and eyed it before though, but 30€ for a zara frag kinda held me back. In the opening you get alot of pine. Like alot. As time goes by the pine dies down (but stays ever present) under warm woods. Is this how guaiacwood smells like? My untrained nose was thinking sandalwood. Some mild well blended incense. I get none of the violets, leather. This smells pretty well done tbh. Smells unique to me (have not smelled santal 33 though, if it smells like this maybe I should). Like it really conjures the smell of a hike in the forest. And I do love to hike. Makes me feel calm and energized at the same time. The weakness of this frag seems to be versitality. I'll try to wear this in summer atleast once, but tbh I think this will end up spring only. Pure daytime frag too. And not sure what situations it would be fitting for. Outdoorsy activities for sure. Maybe office? I suspect this wont attract any kind of compliments tbh. Its really love or hate and nothing like what you would expect a frag to smell like. I'll wear this for myself, and I'll feel better for it. Lasts about 6hours before it becomes a skin scent for me. Do not blind buy. A bit too gimicky to be a must have at the original 30€, but considdering what I payed for it, as far as I'm concerned an awesome find.

So I was walking down the Zara men’s section when I smelled Santal 33. Thought it was from someone in the store, when I saw the bottle of Mountain Woody Forest. I sampled it, was really intrigued by the resemblance to Santal and shocked that Zara would make a remotely bearable/pleasant scent. I bought it a couple days later, for this price it is amazing, It costs 28€ in my country. For me it is a less sophisticated and milder version of Santal. The violets add some freshness, making it not that heavy and suffocating like most woody scents. I am happy that it is not super strong, more like a skin scent (2-3 hours), perfect for errands and a day perfume (for the winter of course). I use Santal when I go out socially, MWF is for when I’m feeling negligé. It does not smell cheap, I’ve smelled much worse from niche brands—I think people are fooled by the brand. The dry down is very mild, smells like black tea to me, or like matcha, a bit like Thé Matcha from Le Labo again... I mean, who would expect a Zara scent to have so much nuance and quality? Even the comparison to Le Labo is a huge compliment. It does not contain BHT which is another plus for me. So, for this price it is definitely an amazing find. I will get another bottle, in case Zara doesn’t continue it.

I count myself lucky today, as I just found a new bottle of this perfume. When I first prayed it, it reminded me of a Comme des Garçons perfume , can’t tell you exactly which one, but it has the same kind of vibe. Will give a more in-depth review after I have tested it for a bit longer, but the first impression is quite a good one. Edit: The opening is fresh, you can smell the pine in it. As it evolves it becomes a more smokey /incense perfume where I suppose the nutmeg and violet give it that "sandalwood' vibe, yet there is no sandalwood in it, it's Palo Santo. The pine is still there in the mix and the leather is of the soft kind. This is a smooth evolving perfume, on my skin it does not radiate out so much but it stays a few hours on the skin with a very soft yet noticeable dry-down. I wear it even it hot weather like today and the freshness of the pine is excellent It's a yes for me, I'll just spray more then usual to get better sillage and longevity and by doing so it lasts me more then 8 hours . Edit: this on clothes keeps on giving , even the next day the scent is gorgeous ! Even found a second bottle yesterday , happy me :-)

This is surprisingly complex and good quality. It smells natural, outdoorsy, and for me it is quite addictive. Smell of pine, pine cones, spices, mild smoke(incense). The amber note is somewhat resembles weed, so I understand the comparsion to Black Afgano, but the scent is very unique. I dont want to throw in concepts like "niche quality" but it is very different compared to oher Zara's in a good way. Performance wise, I'm very impressed. 6-8 hours with strong to moderate sillage. Finally this is a bold and risky move from zara (which I really appreciate) , as this is not a crowd pleaser (like most of their other frags), this is a love or hate fragrance. I am really happy because I have finally found my signature scent after trying many niche and designer compositions throughout the years.

The votes and reviews for lack of performance are confusing to me as this fragrance is wildly potent in my eyes. Two sprays gives me all day/night performance and sillage for 6+ hours. This stuff just radiates off my skin. That being said, I do like it a lot. It’s piney, leathery and super woody. A very masculine and unique scent profile. Not too unique though as it does share some DNA with Santal 33. If you can find it for a good price, it’s an awesome fall and winter cheapie.

My favourite of the zara forest series, this one is a real bargain and lasts really long. It does share similarities with Santal 33 as some people mentioned but it's quite different at the same time. It starts more balsamic with hints of leather but very soon the incense is stronger on my skin with the Guaiac Wood and violet coming subtly. Honestly, it's a beautiful composition.

One of the best releases of this house. Zara did a great job on this one and cooperating with great perfumers . It is like 90% similar to Santal 33 but less bright, it’s more dry , subtle with a hint of coconut vibe on the dry down,kind reminds me of acqua di parma fico Di amalfi . it has zero sweetness in it . This scent is dry, creamy earthy and the longevity is awesome.

I can definitely see/smell the Santal 33 comparisons. I’d say this one is more green than 33 because of the pine note but they definitely have similarities. I feel like layering the two would be really nice.

I tried it and immediately fell in love. For me this is a unisex fragrance. It has a dose of freshness and tenderness. Good price and love at first smell

This is the best of this collection. The opening is in the style of aesop hwyl or azzaro visit. You get the impression of an old abandoned church in the snow somewhere. Dry woodiness, distant smoke, cold winter air. The name of this is pretty accurate. The Dry down is a pretty obvious clone of santal 33, there's a clear sandalwood note although its not listed and the leather almost smells like papyrus. There is only a slight sweetness from the nutmeg which I appreciate, it stays very dry. Overall this is a pleasant and surprisingly high quality scent. The performance is pretty good, I sprayed this on my coat and was getting whiffs throughout the next 2 days

Well, this is a different approach from Zara! You don't have to expect the Aventus-ish/Invictus-ish style that Zara creates nowadays! This one is a little bit difficult to describe! It starts with a big wave of pine, and continues woody/leathery, a little bit too dry. This smell reminds me of the small scented trees that you hang by the mirror in the car......but not a bad scent. Very hard to wear it! All you get is a fresh woody-forest smell! Do not blind buy it, very hard to get used with! I'll keep mine in the car to refresh it from time to time!

Opening is pretty harsh and may be off-putting to some. But dry down is actually not bad. It does have a resemblance to Santal 33, but it’s the kind of cheap sandalwood smell that may be cloying if overdosed. I suggest trying it before purchasing it. It’s not the average Invictus-smelling frag you would expect from Zara, then again the price is a bit higher than usual. Only available in 100ml and don’t dare to take a risk right now.

Surprisingly pleasant; perhaps overzealous in the first 10 minutes but the drydown is a good mix of incense and pine with minor leather in the background. Reminds me of Memo Russian Leather, albeit on me it's less sweet than Memo. For the cost and quantity you can absolutely get it as a gift for someone who likes dark woody scents, just make sure that they don't hate incense.

They praised scent 1 and s4nd4lw00d perfumes. When I saw that this perfume was similar to them, I was curious and bought it. The green leaves of the pine tree are opening freshly. Then a slightly smoky sandalwood appears. The skin is also felt. Don't expect a heavy smell. I think it can be used at normal temperatures as it stays close to the skin.

I actually think Mountain Woody Forest only resembles Santal 33 (and countless dupes) in the very first minutes of the opening or if smelled from nozzle. Otherwise it's a very piney woody lumberjack scent reminiscent of sawdust and freshly cut lumber. It's pretty simple with average performance and (fortunately) lacks the usual dullness and artificiality of cheaper Zara fragrances. Having said this, this series was undeservedly overpriced by Zara standards and even though I bought my bottle on sale (50% off), I still think I paid more than what this fragrance is really worth.

Personally I find it the most acceptable one of the 4 released perfumes. The opening is woody and spicy, warm and pleasant. Soon leather scent comes. It's a good combination of pine, leather and incense, nothing sharp. A nice choice for winter. Unfortunately, the performance is disappointing, and on my skin it doesn't last long.

This was the best out of the four new releases from the Forest Line. I tested it briefly at a store and thought it smelled like Santal 33. Longevity is nonexistent like all Zara. Not a bad scent though, the sacred and the coastal ones were pretty awful.

In the beginning it does have a pine/incense smell, but that fades away pretty quickly. As soon as pine fades away, notes of wood and leather come forward with a lingering of incense. It does remind me somewhat of Sental 33, but it has a dirtier more leathery and less fresh smell, so it is not a clone at all. I would say it is something between Nasomatto Black Afgano and Sental 33. Interesting for a Zara perfume, though maybe a bit short lasting on skin. EDIT. After having it for a few weeks I began to dislike it very much to the point of it making me gag.

I could only smell the notes the first two times i sprayed it, on the paper at the shop, and on my hand the first time i sprayed at home after i bought it. After that, i can only smell this as cucumber water.. i dont know maybe i got anosmia of it or it's too weak. Frozen Pure Forest is my favorite from the series and i wear it often as it performs better and i even got compliments for it.

To my nose this opens green and piney but very soon it smells like a bunch of vegetables on the kitchen counter ready to be prepared for cooking, with the smell of parsley and celery being very prominent. It's a pity for a company to sell such a lousy concoction in such a beautiful presentation, at such a high price!!!
