Musk Confidential

I think I'm gonna buy this for myself (male) if I see it online. Might be seen as a basic women's perfume, but I found it purely unisex and it actually turns interesting on my skin. Fresh, floral, a little sweet with a sour-ish juicy undertone from the mandarin orange. EDIT: Yup, just bought it happily for retail price at my local Zara (they had 3 or 4 left), it's still unavailable online. What a great scent. Multi-dimentional too, nonlinear.

It opens note with candied orange , so playful and it’s only few second and then I smell magnolia note the entire time until the dry down of vanilla and musk made this a very sensual feminine scent. The musk collection is so good! I got them all and they lasts on me for 8 hours but more skin scent by hour 5-6. I love this collection. Giving me a clean girl vibe!

Wonderful pure magnolia fragrance for such a great price! Personally I was hoping Musk Confidential would be more creamy and powdery, reading the reviews I was expecting this to smell like a luxurious body cream or like skincare (think of Zara Spirited Romance, Eterea Skincare Routine, Tiffany&Co Intense Tiffany, Dior J'adore Parfum d'Eau, Nivea edt), since fragrances that smell like skincare are a new obsession of mine! Instead I personally think Musk Confidential is all based on a very realistic, clean and fresh magnolia, leaning as a whole on the citrusy musky side. The opening is a burst of very uplifting clean mandarin, making way for a super strong lemony magnolia, very fresh, clean and luminous, only lightly creamy and with a green, stem component in it; it is really well done this magnolia note, to the point of reminding me of the intro and mid of Message in a Perfume by Mark Buxton. The citrusy carachter last until dry down, which consist of clean white musk, a bit similar to Pure Musk by Narciso Ridriguez, although not as intense and complex, reminiscent of clean clothes and white linens (personally I would have called this one Linen Musk); I didn't detect any vanilla presence in the fragrance. Performance was moderate in both sillage and persistence and I think this could be a good unisex cologne type of fragrance for summer, especially for lovers of magnolia looking for something on a budget, since the magnolia note was handled extremely well (usually magnolia listed as a note means there will be a generic blend of jasmine and lilly of the valley, not often do we find a good magnolia for this price point).

I'm really enjoying this perfume! It opens with a candied, sweet and bright mandarin orange, that's uplifting and inviting. As it settles, the heart reveals a creamy tone where the magnolia is a soft, soothing floral. Though there is a citrus note, I find this to be a gently warm fragrance. The musk is slightly powdery, the vanilla is comforting and they create a soft, enveloping scent bubble that doesn't overwhelm the senses. A pleasant balance between a vibrant candied citrus, soft floral and warm vanilla.

The new Musks from Zara are light, sometimes sweet and not terribly musk like. This is the most floral of the three I have (didn’t get linen). In the floral I can detect a little ylang ylang or jasmine in there, yes magnolia but it’s quite generic. I missed the mandarin on me which is a shame as I ordered hoping this would be a pretty fresh first spay. This is fleeting and generic as hell to me. I can’t name anything off the top of my head but it’s like many low price perfumes. The vanilla and musk base is there in the hour and it’s like a shower gel/body lotion type scent. I don’t expect acrobatics from Zara. It’s a lot of juice for not a lot of money. I don’t know if this is a dupe *shrug* but certainly Cashmere is sweeter, gourmand and is at least a little quirky. Merino is also more wearable. I confess I’m not all about florals BUT I do have Granado Magnolia which is 100x better magnolia for 2 1/2 times the price. Someone might like it very much but I’m sure it’s an overspray perfume as it’s slight.

Yuck!!! This perfume has no redeeming qualities. It does not smell like musk at all and it is not a floral fruity perfume. It smells like an old MEN's cologne from Avon. I cannot believe Zara created this fragrance for women. This is terrible. It went right in the trash.

I keep reading/ hearing in reviews how generic and boring this is. I disagree. It's the only one that captured my attention in the musk collection. I find it simultaneously fruity, soapy and fluffly. Clean without the citrus/ tea/ white musk usual suspects, and different from what I've been smelling lately. Strong like for me.

Textbook definition of musk, it is clean, citrusy, powdered and flowery with magnolia. Super easy to wear, any time, anywhere.
