N°03 Waterfall Brume

As Breathtaking As Niagara Falls Waterfall Brume, as the name suggests, recalls that mist, or brume, made of microscopic drops that are generated near a waterfall. It is like a mysterious, hidden, secret place, a piece of paradise, where I would like to take refuge when stress and routine become pressing and oppressive. Its pale rose colour is a bit misleading, and you might think of a massive floral mix bomb. But no, ain’t no that way, go and check it out. Waterfall Brume shows grassy, watery, and floral notes and rises savoury but without being aggressive on the nose; the quite moist and citrusy opening is warm and soft, a little brighter, rather than sharp, and gives me a sense of calm; the effect is surprisingly subdued, relaxed. It took me a while to identify it, but I finally detected a zesty orange accented with a sour grapefruit. Unlisted, a subtle hint of mint in the background adds to this, quietly speaking of sweet greenery resting on the calm surface. It’s a pleasant fragrance that doesn’t need to scream. Instead, aim to transport yourself to a refreshing, peaceful retreat near a stream or waterfall. Imagine a source of pure water flowing over a stoney and mossy mantle, that sensation of pure, clean water with greenish and fresh tones. The initial burst of citrus, slightly mineral, calms down and blends nicely with the white flowers. Further along in the wear, it feels greener, with some herbal or grassy smells mixed with the scent. Jasmine has a moist, rich feeling, which is delightful to me. Jasmine plays a key role, but differently than one would expect. I often take the flower as an indolic hotbed. In Waterfall Brume, the jasmine is transparent and waxy, which gives off a clean white floral scent. Its scratchy, almost plastic touch recalls the idea of white flowers wrapped in transparent film. Together with it, there is a magnolia with fat and fleshy petals, which maintains that watery and hazy aspect. Underneath, an earthy green musk feel is ever present and underpins all other notes. As it dries down, Waterfall Mist transforms into moss and driftwood. Now the “mineral” accord is prominent in the base, evoking the idea of clean, clear water splashed on excellent stone. Besides musks, the woods are soft and transparent, with no harshness or spice. Green is abundant in the base, and while it all seems incredibly simple in scale and volume, there appears to be a great deal of complexity. Upbeat and smooth but a pretty straightforward fragrance. Waterfall Brume is peaceful, attractive, and well put together in its simplicity. It would require refreshments from time to time, but to be honest, we don’t mind. I can visit this enchanted place whenever I want, just a quick spritz. In terms of projection and sillage, the perfume is relatively light and airy, in the style of Jo Malone. However, it’s not weak. Waterfall Brume is one of those perfumes you won’t notice you’re wearing, and then you’ll suddenly smell it. Others will notice, too; it’s not one to take up a room. Longevity hovers around half a day; not that surprising but still useful. Seasonally, this is for spring and summer. It is fine for casual to dressy daywear, and I wouldn’t object to wearing it for a summer evening out. It is sold as a feminine fragrance but leans more towards the genderless end for me. I'm basing my opinion on a bottle I've owned since August 2021.

The first spray immediately reminded me of Estée Lauder Pleasures. It has the same crisp, citrusy freshness with a subtle bitter edge, although Waterfall Brume feels lighter and doesn't last as long. The dry down is where it takes a different direction. It becomes softer, more refined, and develops greater depth than Pleasures. It also brings to mind Hermès Le Jardin de Monsieur Li, but I personally prefer Waterfall Brume. It feels fresher, more elegant, and easier to wear. This has become one of my favorite fragrances from Jo Malone's Zara collection. I own almost every perfume from her Zara collaboration, and Waterfall Brume is one of the standouts. It's bright, uplifting, and genuinely beautiful.

My favorite scent. I regret not ordering more before the sale ended. I purchased Lee's Garden because it said it resembled Hermes Lee's Garden, but the top notes are exactly the same. A clean, fresh, and not too sweet fragrance. It's like squeezing plenty of grapefruit juice into a magnolia. I think it's Zara's best work.

According to my impressions, the color of the packaging is spot on. It feels like a musky version (bright and sweet type of musk) of Aerin's Lilac Path ... Gucci Guilty ... etc ... with a bit of linen spray vibes. I actually like it a lot for a generic scent. And I like how it layers with Lilac Path to quiet down some of its overly floral aspects (I'm not as big on florals as this review might mislead you to assume). This scent not overly trendy, but for those who don't follow trends and appreciate florals - it's quite lovely and doesn't feature violet notes to boost the lilac color impression, which makes it safer than many other alternatives I've tried lately, steering away from potential matronly vibes.

This is legit a dupe of Le Jardin de Monsieur Li by Hermès, an all time favorite of mine. The similarities are unmissable. It was created by the renowned British perfumer, Jo Malone, and she sure did a good job with this one. I would've rated it as "love" instead of "like" if it lasted a little longer than it did on my skin, but other than that, it's a delightful, inoffensive and affordable "expensive smelling" perfume that can be enjoyed by any age group. I highly recommend it.

I found this to be sharp, powdery. On the fresh side. Floral, somewhat sweet. I did not like this at all. Not sure what exactly it was, but it's a no for me.

Grapefruit-musk, very synthetic, kind of sweetish. I disliked it.

The price, for a pleasant VIOLET COLOGNE wannabe, is EXPENSIVE, dont waist you money, my mother has a Futon Cologne and costs 1/5 of this full price. People niche fans that follows Jo Malone speaks as a delicate unique scent but is simply a "nice" NOT BAD y repeat, but a violet GENERIC perfume, or as positive, a " pleasant cologne" that you can buy just for a few dollars. Today I spotted it in new design (round bottle with magnetic cap). It’s Strange how noone mentioned similarity with My Burberry. It has the softness, the freshness, elegancy and Kurkdijan’s Signature in the heart of the smell. Lovely! Unfortunately it doesn’t last too long
