Nocturnal Velvet

It's weird because there literally says it's like the "first peek" of the morning, but the name is nocturnal... anyways at least in my location you can use it at night too at a party maybe. It smells like strawberries so much, and a little plasticky but that's not bad in my opinion because it smells like a barbie doll but with more fruitiness. I also smell pineapple 🍍 but like a pinapple candy or juice even if it'snot listed there. It's a little elegant too, smells alcoholic like liquor so that gives it a little maturity and takes away any chance of smelling like a preteen, on the contrary. Surprisingly one of my most complimented perfumes EVEN compared to other more pricey ones. Someone even told me it smells better than burberry her on me like, more flirtier and equilibrated. 🍓👄🍓 that made my whole day better

I have been loving wearing this and the performance has really impressed me, for Zara prices. So believe me when I say I’m furious that it’s been discontinued. Just bought a back-up bottle for double the original price on eBay. The fast fashion approach to Zara’s scents just doesn’t make sense to me. They keep other quiet/weak scents and then let this go within a year? Raging.

This has really surprised me - I generally don’t expect loads from Zara, but this is great. I don’t think it smells exactly like Burberry Her but it’s in the same ball park. Sweet, fruity, floral, balanced. The name doesn’t really match - for me it’s a bright strawberry sugar which is more daytime-seeming. A great perfume!

I'm a bit shocked how good this is. You could easily purchase something at four times the price of this one and not have it smell as well made. Starts off with a rather sharp strawberry but quickly smooths out into a nice fruity floral. Projection is very strong, go easy on the sprays.

Absolutely love this it’s a sweet fruity floral it’s such a pretty fragrance. You can really smell the strawberry note and I absolutely love that. Lasts very well I get around 8 hours of wear. Worn this for about a month now on and off I’ve gotten compliments each time I’ve worn it.

Fizzy strawberry and plum, very pleasant! It is not a dupe for Her by Burberry though - burberry is more powdery. This smells more fruity fizzy. I like it

This is the first Zara fragrance I ever bought and I was pleasantly surprised by the quality. I have since gotten a few in this series - the square bottle with a black cap - and they have not disappointed. I love a soft sweet strawberry cottony musk with some brightness from the raspberry pink pepper combination and the blend of florals in the middle of the composition. There is something unique, and happy, here - it’s uplifting and sweet and fun and soft all at the same time. If this perfume was a colour it would be a strawberry raspberry cream tart with yellow sunshine and a kiss on the forehead.

bleh. not the best. soapy strawberry bubblegum-ish car air freshener. better in the drydown than when you spray it. also quite strong.

It has synthetic strawberry scent in the opening and last very long. I just smell strawberry scent all day when i wear it and it make me headache.

First impression: Definite strawberry, but very plasticky. The synthetic smell dominates, and it is not pleasant. It might be the solar note in combination with ambroxan that throw me off. I don’t usually have this problem with ZARA perfumes, so this is a bit puzzling. I hope that letting it sit for awhile will improve it.

the strawberry here reminds me of strawberry scented car air freshener but on a 110 degree day. not only is it synthetic, most strawberry notes are, but it's very deep (nocturnal if you will) and kinda cloying. not bright, not air, not fizzy, not juicy in any manner of the word. kinda terrible but if you're looking for a 'winter' strawberry this might work as it packs a punch and is hard to ignore. the strawberry/plum/whatever furitty combo does not fade, it keeps giving air freshener until it fades. this is, to my nose, nothing like a strawberry note found in her, rave now, gingham gorgeous, strawberry letter or marshmallow blush.

This is not a velvet for me. It’s also not dark or nocturnal. But it is insanely sweet and has a synthetic fruitiness and that is all - I don’t detect plum, just a sickly sweet smell with a strawberriness not actual strawberry. I was expecting much more as some of the Zara frags are really well done. Maybe it’s because my preferences have changed but the best I can say for this is it could be used as a fragrance sweetener for something really dark to sweeten and lighten it.

It lacks the sparkle burberry her has , strawberry isnt as fresh and florals arent as luminous .. its a muted version of burberry hers and i think it also has a little hint of "Kayali - Yum boujie" because of the powdery berry accord ,but fails to quite dupe that either ... after all it came out pretty much like strawberry snowflake by bath and body works ... its not bad at all but not impressive for a girl over 18 either

Hey, what a discrepancy between the name and description! "It’s like the first peek of sunlight on a crisp morning"... Does Zara's copywriter know what the word "Nocturnal" means?
