Oriental

I have to admit that the first time I wore I didn't like it at all, but the more I wear it the more and more I just love it!! It is the perfect caramel sweet but not too "teenager fragance" kind of sweet; more of a complex, warm, cozy, sensual, yummy sweet. The most prominent note for me is the caramel, but I also smell a little vanilla. To me this is a perfume that can be worn day or night, but I think it suits better colder weather, I think for hotter climates it would be a little too much. Sillage and longevity are ok, but for 12 euros I just can't complain! I find that on clothes lasts waaaaaay longer than on my skin. Definitely my fave from Zara so far. Tengo que admitir que la primera vez que lo usé no me gustó para nada, pero mientras más lo voy usando más me voy enamorando!! Para mí es el perfume perfecto con notas de caramelo que es dulce pero no dulce de la manera que lo son fragancias para chicas adolescentes, es más bien un dulce más complejo, sensual y acogedor. Las notas que yo percibo más es el caramelo y de fondo la vainilla. Es un perfume que creo que se puede usar tanto de noche como de día pero sí creo que va mejor con un clima más frío, creo que en verano sería un poco asfixiante tanto caramelo. La proyección y la duración no están mal, pero por 12 euros la verdad no me puedo quejar! Si lo echas en la ropa dura muchiiiisimo más. Definitivamente mi favorito de Zara hasta ahora.

because of other reviews on here, i’ve decided not to repurchase it due to it apparently being reformulated and losing the charm of the original. however, i did love it when i had it. i got it in a set in august/september 2023 with wonder rose. i loved both but originally preferred wonder rose so i used that one more. i used about half of oriental before sorta forgetting about it and letting it macerate. originally it smelled sweet and bright and i quite liked it, but at the time i sorta just preferred more fruity scents so i didn’t reach for it too much (however my taste has changed overtime). i ended up picking it back up after finishing wonder rose and WOW. i loved it so much more all of a sudden. the caramel note was much more prominent after maceration and it worked really well with the vanilla. there was also a bit of floral that balanced out the sweetness, and it was more long lasting. overall i just loved the perfume way more than i did before. i ended up buying another bottle and basically the same thing happened. it was originally nice and i liked it but i wasn’t obsessed. but then it macerated again and i fell back in love with it. i have been really tempted to buy it again when i occasionally see it back in stock at zara, but since everyone on this website seems to hate the new version i have resisted the urges lol. (btw sorry if this review was kinda vague im new to this)

My new discovery. I picked up a bottle 1/3 full at a thrift shop, $5. It is a complete delight, love it. It's not a complex scent. I can see how people would happily adopt it as a signature because it is just so darned cosy and pleasant, but I can also see how you would want to move on after a while. I find that most orientals and ambers are too heavy and stifling on me. However much I like the scent, by the end of the day I'm worn out. Not so here. While many people complain about the performance of Zara Oriental, on me it is just right. And also - bonus - despite the caramel it's not too sweet. So far I'm applying 4-5 light misty sprays. See how we go with that. I can't remember how Flowerbomb smells so can't comment there. However I dragged out my old - pre-2013 - bottle of Rochas Tocade and I do see a definite resemblance. The notes aren't all the same but both have a dense, non-sweet, 'chewy' texture at the centre of the experience. However, Tocade is much louder, and its famous 'plastic' vibe is absent in Zara Oriental. Tocade is unique and fantastic and I love owning it but I seldom wear it. Another that springs to mind is Hermes L'Ambre de Merveilles, which is an elegant, light and very refined amber, but has no gourmand element to it.

My purchasing this was solely based on the notes and Fragranticans comments. So, thank you very much you guys!!!! I totally adore it, it's warm, cozy, sweet without being cloying or overwhelming. I distinctively get the vanilla and caramel, the rose is somehow hidden behind those two, sandalwood and cedar are lost to my nose. I love wearing this beauty when it's really cold and gloomy outside and I feel cuddled and reassured by the warm embrace of sweet vanilla. Staying power is moderate but surprisingly more persistent than I thought it would be. Some days ago I layered this with Nina Ricci' s Nina Fantasy and by the end of the day Nina had vaporized and I could still get whiffs of Zara Oriental. I really like it!!! Excellent value for its price.....which is really, really cheap. I got the 100ml Eau de Toilette for roughly $10.

Bought the first bottle back in 2016, not knowing this is a "dupe" for Flowerbomb. Even in school my classmates would ask me what this perfume was and went on to buy it also. Then I bought the smaller version for my bag and ended them both in about a year. Went to Zara to buy more but couldn't find any and went on for years with few ml left in the small bottle and from time to time just sniffed it. Years on I found it again on the shelfs and it gives my such nostalgia. Did not even care what the notes were, just vibes. I don't like Flowerbomb, most likely it lacks the caramel that Oriental has in her. Oriental also has more vanilla in her which is always a plus. Will always repurchase this beautiful perfume.

Honestly, I just can't get enough of this bottle. I just purchased the second bottle, a 200 ml one and I use and abuse a lot of this perfume. I use it at day, at night, when I'm at home, when I wanna feel comfy, when I wanna look sexy, after a shower ready to sleep, anytime is a good time to use this. The smell is a happy warm smell. This will give you life and happiness. You will smell like a cupcake with vanilla frosting but very settle. I do agree on this smell like a wanna-be of Prada Candy, it is not a dupe but right in the alley of soft and sweet balsamic amber vanilla scent. Not chemically, not burn caramel, just a soft and surprisingly expensive amber perfume. love it.

Very pretty perfume which is a pleasure to wear -- a secure mood-lifter for a fall/winter afternoon. The notes might not seem original, but the balance between caramel and flowers is just perfect in my view. The only downside is the medium/low longevity and sillage. A few months ago, in the forum I requested suggestions for other perfumes which have a similar great combination of caramel+flowers, but with better longevity/sillage. I was recommended Flower Bomb and Nina Ricci Luna -- none of them really works. I find both overly sweet and unbalanced, in contrast to ZO. I guess that the key will be to stock up enough, as normally Zara perfumes are discontinued quite quickly.

It smells like a very hot sand. And it definitely does not smell cheap or too sweet. Even caramel doesn't create that sticky aura of last year's candy, that melted in a pocket of the kindergarten kid. Oriental aura with vanilla-patch combo for adults, pretty much unisex. This Zara's frag is on a different side as well, I have no comparisons to name. Although there is no spices in pyramid on my skin it is spicy-woody-lactonic serious vanilla, quite addictive as well, I sprayed liberally on myself and around the room as well, can afford this, having a 200 ml bottle after all). Lovely scent within budget zone for summer, throughly recommend to anyone.

got this from a friend in high school, he had the same name as a federal offense, he was a nice boy. I hope he is well. I worry his family was taken out in the war, though I'd never know. Think it was his mother's that she didn't like and he had nothing to bring me when I invited him for my birthday. I feel classy when I wear this, the amber color of the liquid in the pretty square bottle feels quietly chic. It's a late fall/early winter wear. Dressier parties and thanksgivings. Watching Charlie Brown in a pair of heeled boots and a corduroy skirt, sitting on the floor. The caramel, vanilla, and musk notes bring home the comfort on this one.

I'm falling head over heels for this perfume (and so are men apparently ;)) ! It is a perfect starter is you want to experiment with sexy vanilla gourmands. It is the epitomy of gourmand, poeple will compliment you and ask what you are wearing. The vanilla and caramel are so well blended that it smell way more expensive than what it is. It is sure great for winter but in summer it becomes this enchentment that poeple fall under. I decide not to wear it too often because you need the attitude and the situation to pull it off. Finally, I discovered a light vanilla caramel fragrance that I can use in the summer and the heat. This is a light, sophisticated, and very mature perfume. This does not last more than 3 hours on me tbh... but since this is a cheap product, I don't mind reapplying a couple times. I wanna find out an expensive perfume similar to this just to get the fragrance last on me... any recs?

I only discovered it the day before yesterday and... I'm in love! The first notes remind me slightly of Vanille Noire but the middle notes and the gorgeous drydown are almost identical to Avon's long-discontinued beauty ETERNAL MAGIC. Maybe it's slightly sweeter, but only a tiny bit. If you loved Eternal Magic, try Zara Oriental, it's the same vibe, only Zara seems to last longer.

I think I just found me .. but in a bottle... ah.. why have I only just discovered this now? This is soft and slightly creamy, sweet, warm and inviting. Honestly I ordered the 10ml of a few different Zara perfumes so I could try before I buy a larger one, but this one I’ve fallen inlove with and the fact it is so affordable, this could easily become signature scent!

Got it as a gift, and it became one of my signature scents for as long as I had it. Wore it to school and to internships, lasted me a year (take note, I spray 8 times every day). Easy 6-7 hours average longevity. Sticks to clothes, skin, and hair. Got numerous compliments on the fragrance as well. Would definitely buy again.

An easy favorite. Zara Oriental is nothing short of a vibrant sunny day with warm and fresh notes of Bergamot, Jasmine greeting my senses and sets to that warm vanilla and caramel. I find this calming yet it intensifies as it gets warmer. And with it's price point this can easily be an everyday scent.

Amazing perfume that I recommend to every girl/woman who likes vanilla/caramel warm and cosy perfumes. At first I thought this one, like other cheap perfumes, didnt last so long. I can tell you that this one lasts on my skin longer than other expencive ones. 4 H is okej!

I dont really like vanilla in perfumes but this is actually "fresh" playful sparkling vanilla and it just hits the spot. Its sensuous, a bit mysterious, but also uplifting and comforting, it smells very expensive. I'm counting it with my classics!

Warm, cozy, sexy and delicious are the perfect words to describe this perfume. Suitable for autumn winter time.. it lasts about 3 hours. It is one of those inexpensive priced yet very posh and expensive smelling fragrance.. a very rare find.

This is a stripped down Flowerbomb without the sparkling tea note, less complex and a lot more musky in the drydown. It's a good dupe and as a lover of Flowerbomb, I couldn't wait to order it in the 180ml bottle.

This smells much more expensive than it actually is (£9.99 for 100ml). I get a gourmand vanilla-caramel fragrance from it, however it is not sickly sweet. Very sexy, glamorous scent in my opinion.

What a great scent. On me it smells like caramel with vanilla - but its not too loud... I used it in the afternoon, and when i woke up the next morning, i was still able to smell it. Mmmh..

I really like this! It opens with a citrus burst and then soon settles down into a sweet and creamy vanilla. It is very comforting and I’m sure the opposite sex would like it too!

I love this scent, although the lasting time and sillage aren't as strong as I'd like them to be, I still really enjoy this perfume and is definitely one of my favorites.

This smells so good! Sweet, innocent, comforting. It feels like a hug and it lasts a long time with very good projection. My boss wears it to work and i love it!

A warm, cozy and sensual sweet powdery Ambery-vanilla. I wear this at bedtime or whenever I want to be intimate. It does have a sophisticated smell.

I just love it. It very sweet and Feminine. If you are into sweet vanilla caramel type of fragrance, you should Buy this one.

Reviewing 2024(ish?) version; "Day Collection 02" Notes for this version, per Zara: Vanilla, sweet orange, caramel, bergamot & mimosa. I can't compare it to any of the older versions as I don't have them, but I definitely don't get ANY rose or patchouli here (though there is a soapy touch that did make me wonder if there's a white floral hiding in there) so I do think it's an entirely new version. This is warm but light, and would be fine for a standard UK or Irish summer day, which is to say 16 degrees Celsius or lower. Projection and longevity are 'kind of okay', which is about the best we get from Zara. It doesn't last more than 4 hours on my skin and it's a skin scent within 40 minutes. Version and performance aside, this is just... I'm going to have to call it charming. It's gourmand, but not gourmand – the citrus and that soapy touch, plus the yellow mimosa, keep it fragrant rather than edible. It's inobtrusive, unobjectionable, gentle. I find it a little more youthful than I was expecting, too; it makes me think a woman in her early 20s in Uni would pick this up as her first "grown-up office scent". Obviously, anyone of any age and gender can wear and pull off anything they like, that's just one vibe I get. It's genuinely quite lovely. Got it in a set with Tender Magnolia for around £12 on sale, and I much prefer this one. True to the notes I listed, safe blind buy.

Personally, it's really nothing like V&R FB. Zara Black Peony smells a lot more like FB if you are after it which is also beautiful. This one is sweet, warm, woody and a bit powdery. The vanilla note is prominent. The name Oriental says it all. A simple, but beautiful girly scent. No wonder this is one of the most popular frags from Zara. It somehow reminds of Giorgio Armani Si, I guess it's because they both have these vanilla and woody notes. To me they are in the same category. When I compare them side by side, they are quite different, Oriental hasn't got the freshness that Si comes with, but it has loads of caramel and vanilla in it. It has a slight similar woody vibe like Si does, but it's much warmer than Si. They are both quite OK to me, but I'm kinda leaning towards to Oriental a bit more. It's just a personal preference I guess. I picked up a 10ml rollerball at the counter last week and I'm quite pleased with it. The packaging isn't tacky at all, but quite simple and nice. It was also sold in 30ml, 100ml or 200ml in the store. Right now the 10ml rollerball is just perfect. I like a few things about Zara frags, they are so inexpensive and they also come in rollerball and handbag sizes, super easy to carry around and re-apply. The scent to me is kinda original and very trendy at the same time. It smells expensive and sophisticated.

surprisingly good longevity considering it's a zara perfume; the bergamot is quite strong at the beginning but after 30 mins or so, the vanilla and caramel take over, giving the bergamot a spicy, refreshing fonction. Surprising at first, but I smell the "Oriental" effect they tried to give; it does remind me of "Si", without the woods and a bit less sweet. I was a bit off put at the beginning, but I feel like it's actually growing on me? And I'm ending up liking it; my boyfriend said he smelled apple pie; I don't, BUT I see where he's coming from. It actually makes me think of an apple pie with whipped cream, although it doesn't smell at ALL like apple pie - that's just the kind of vibe I get from this. Quite gourmand, really feminine, pretty sweet, super creamy, and actually long lasting! In my opinion, it's worth a try x Edit: I actually really like it? I think the citrus note was because the bottle was brand new, but now that i've been using it for a few days, I get all the soft cream of the vanilla, the sweetness of the caramel. A really good scent to go to sleep. Really soft, and I don't think it lasts a long time, but for the price you can deffo overspray and reapply. I'm picky with scents, but I think it's a safe blind buy, and an easy reach for when you're broke but still wanna smell good !

Blind buy! I thought to myself, you can't go wrong with caramel and woody notes? I've just sprayed it on my wrist and I was frightened at first because it gave me mature church lady vibes. A minute later, the vanilla domineeringly fought its way to the front and balanced the floral musky notes you smell when the perfume hits your skin initially. It's a sweet perfume which has some lovely layers to it. I've seen some people make comparisons to Armani's Si and I do agree solely based on the growing factor of the fragrance and the combination of the sweet and woody notes in both. I think Oriental is more 'heady', perfect for cool autumn/winter nights, whereas Si is sweeter and a little more fresher. Zara's Oriental is great. If you want to aromatically introduce yourself as a woman who is determined to discover s more complex sweet scents, this one is an ideal and affordable starting point!

I have worn Zara Oriental three times, the first time a few weeks ago after someone commented that it was a good cheapie vanilla from the the article with the Zoom video (of two editors discussing their favorite vanillas). And for me, the note pyramid is backwards on this scent. True, it is a very nice perfume at an excellent price. But first I smell patchouli, florals...namely rose, and musk. The caramel and vanilla are present, undeniably leaning on the feminine, sweet side. The scent profile reminds me of the 2013 version of Tocade by Rochas. I don’t think others will describe it this way, but I gotta be honest. I like it, find it easy to wear though it’s not unique. I believe Zara’s Oriental to be a good example of synthetics used in a creative way.

This would have gotten a higher grade from me had they made this a bit stronger, as it fades quickly and the notes muddles together in the faint dry down. I've never smelled Flowerbomb so I am unable to provide context, but I personally do not find it similar to Jimmy Choo. Reading other reviews, I see that many pick up on the vanilla as the dominant note. On my skin and to my nose, I pick up the bergamot quite distinctly, with the vanilla I get delightful fresh lemon buttercream scent. I do get a creamy base note, but I can't tell if its the caramel or the patchouli, as they don't particularly stand out. Within 2 hours it becomes a lemony sweet skin scent. It smells just like I used C.O Bigelow Lemon body cream, maybe a bit sweeter.

Just blind bought this item after read some reviews and looking around based on the tone searching, and i found it a very playful vanilla... I am a very vanilla person when i turned to parfumes. I like it very much, even though the aroma will suits to evening wear, it is still wearable for the whole morning and day... I even sprays it a little bit before I go to bed, I love the changing notes from the first note to the middle and base note.... they all fit my nose perfectly. I intend to buy the floral version of this zara woman series to complete my collection of zara's EDT... The price won't hurt you so much... Very cheap indeed for a quite sophisticated aroma... The bottle is very simple and classy...

A sweet, soft, feminine caramel scent. This is the first perfume I ever picked for myself. Would I pick it again? Maybe not, but not because this is a bad fragrance but more because I have discovered my style more. It reminds me of a sweet soft cozy sweater worn after a night out with friends. It has a sweet, powdery and creamy quality about it, I don't really pick up on any floral notes (and I don't get the comparison to flowerbomb) . I am normally not a fan of powderiness but it does not bother me here. Longevity and Sillage are moderate on me. I would say that it sits better on clothes than skin however. Pleasing and soft! It is not great but it is good enough!!

I very much like this fragrance and was very surprised with my reaction when the seller offered my a try. I'd never expect to find a good quality scent in a store which I rarely visit to buy clothes. It had me at the first sniff although I actually don't like sweet perfumes because, honestly, to me all mainstream perfumes tend to be exactly that. Not that I don't own any of easily obtaining ones, but I usually like the discontinued ones more(I have that issue not only with perfumes sadly). All in all, I get often compliments when wearing Zara Oriental, even though It's not my signature scent. I recommend this warmly :)

Smelt this in Zara and I have to say I'm very impressed with Zara. When Zara first came out with perfumes they smelt really artificial and cloying. Since then they've come up with numerous perfumes. Now they do what they do best, copy high end and popular designers in terms of fashion and of course, they'd apply their same business technique to their scents. This smells very much like Viktor & Rolf's Flowerbomb, only much linear. Very pretty, warm and versatile fragrance. I'm sure all their other scents are dupes of the originals at a fraction of the price. :)

La fragranza, come si evince già dal nome, è tipicamente orientale. ZARA ORIENTAL emana note molto calde e intense e, a mio parere, la nota predominante è il sandalo, seguito dal caramello. È un profumo molto sensuale e particolare. Spesso , mentre ero per strada, mi hanno fatto i complimenti chiedendomi di che profumo si trattasse! Appena spruzzato dà l'idea di essere un po' troppo forte, ma già dopo qualche minuto si addolcisce e diventa portabile. Sulla mia pelle, ha una persistenza media.

I think it's not the most oriental scent I have tried, it's more sweet and woody.Quite simple. There's caramel and vanilla, for "oriental", there should be more interesting spicy notes. Such a typical sweet, warm fragrance, suitable for colder months. I must admit, there's a very very barely there alcohol smell, that reminds me of a old drunk man in public transport, but I guess it's better not to associate this perfume with that completely.

At first, I did not really like this perfume. I was a bit skeptical because it's a Zara fragrance and I scoffed and said this won't last. Boy I was wrong! This fragrance lasts ages on my skin. It does not smell oriental on me though. The initial notes are woody vanilla and then it turns to delicious caramel vanilla. I just love it and it is so comforting to wear. Plus, it is so cheap! 100ml for around 15Eur? Score!

Whew! This is a strong one. There's something a little alcoholic in the opening. Luckily, it soon melts into sweet caramel & vanilla with rosy woods beneath the sweetness. This is indeed similar to Dolce & Gabbana's The One Desire, but for me, Oriental is stronger and has better longevity. Similarly, Oriental also smells like it has litchi in it, just a little bit exotic. Worth trying for the price!

On my skyn it isn't a typical gourmand! Yes, I can smell caramel, but maybe the notes of rose, cedar and freesia make it a more mature, grown-up kind of sweet perfume. I don't know why, sometimes it seems to me like a sweeter version of frags like narciso rodriguez for her o_O SO it's a more complex and well blended perfume than a simple gourmand... totally worth the price!

Very sweet scent, definitely not one for men, extremely affordable too but you get what you pay for. One of the fragrances with the poorest longevity that I've ever tried which is a shame. Probably something I would gift to a girl who was just starting to get into beauty -- for lounging around in sweatpants, drinking hot chocolate. Cozy Christmas Eve vibes.
