Parfait d'Orchidee

CALL ME CRAZY BUT I THINK IT SMELLS LIKE EAU DUELLE! I know it's crazy but for me the smell is super similar, it's like if Eau Duelle EDP and Iris Porcelana had a child. Both of them are my fav perfumes so I'm running to Zara as soon as they get it in stock. The smell itself it really delicious, I can definitely feel the incense, iris and vanilla. Weirdly I also smell cinnamon. I would definitely advise trying it on before buying, I don't think it's everyone's cup of tea.

Bang for Buck. I would say it is somewhere a mix between diptyques Eau Duelle with the vanilla note, and the musk of the L'eau Papier. However I would say this DNA isn't like the typical Jo Malone or Zara which surprised me. I bought this as a blind buy, and I am glad I did. I would say if you like musky, skin scents, you would enjoy this. The longevity is amazing, I sprayed it on in the morning and could still smell it even after 10 hours later.

As someone mentioned below, top note smells like banana cake, maybe a little burnt, with jasmine tea. Dry down in 10 mins is identical to Not A Perfume by JHAG on my skin. I enjoy this quite a lot, and would like to try other silent flower series if I have a chance

This perfume reveals its beauty as it dries down. The incense gently fades, allowing the warmth of benzoin to emerge, while ambergris and the woody richness of vanilla gracefully join in. One word: Superb. Unbelievably high quality for its price.

I love wearing this in bed along with my pale pink feathered satin robe (no comment) it makes me feel as if I am sleeping in a sweet orchid cloud. Very sophisticated though sweet and light. Congrats miss Malone.

This is very unique and the dry down is strangely addictive. It’s got a salty skin situation that I’m obsessed with, and I can’t wait to try others from Zara.

This is addictive! A little bit strange, sweet and addictive! Sometimes it also reminds me portuguese hard candy Flocos de Neve (Snowflakes).

This smells pleasantly creamy, slightly green, and of smooth vanilla to me. The closest comparison I can think of is Matiere Premiere’s Parisian Musc (with a whisper of French Flower). I was shocked to see comparisons to Eau Duelle. Since many people seem to find them similar, I decided to test this side by side, and the only commonality to Eau Duelle I can detect is vanilla that leans green. Because there aren’t many well-known green vanillas I guess I can understand why that comparison was made— but the similarity ends there for me. Eau Duelle is peppery and brighter; this is the opposite: soft, smooth, and creamy.

Though the opening is more floral and bright, It actually does dry down to smell a lot like Diptyque’s Eau Duelle if it were less green and featured a less rich vanilla. It also shares similarities to Vanille 44 (but less Insense-y). A good perfume that I think would work for summer despite being a vanilla if I didn’t already have the afore mentioned in my collection I’d pick it up, so if you don’t have either but want them, them is a safe substitute.

Best way to describe this is sugary dessert sweetness with a hint of a pink floral and a slightly vintage makeup powderiness. This isn't a safe, crowd-pleasing blind buy. It's a bit of a unique smell that might not appeal to everyone. Comparing to Romance D'Iris, this one is more playful whereas Romance D'Iris is a bit more mysterious. But both have that vintage powdery DNA. Smell: 7 out of 10 Strength: 7 out of 10 Feminine

To me, this smells like a Valentine’s Day heart shaped powdery candy that says “be mine”. Like if dior hypnotic poison had a lighter sister. It’s nice, not great.

my sprayer broke and made me hate this fragrance even more, it is so plasticky and a whole lot of vanilla.....everything smells so synthetic......

Most of Zara’s fragrances smell synthetic to me. This is not synthetic to my nose. It’s well blended. It’s not as heavy as the notes seem to be. To my nose this is a creamy amber-ish vanilla. It’s really good for the price. I am loving the magnetic top to the bottle. I am getting Autumn vibes.

It's quite silent indeed. I don't know if I think of orchids when I smell this, but I definitely get jasmine with a whiff of incense. Very soft, close to the skin, and sweet. Reminds me of beige cashmere sweaters, and chilling at home sipping green tea.

So beautiful, it smells like Parma violets. I don’t see any mentions of violet but this reminds me so much of Insolence by Guerlain. Insolence is sweeter, but this still has the same powdery kick.

It’s indeed very similar to Eau Duelle. A soft spicy, green vanilla. The only difference is that this is one is more floral, I believe it’s because of the jasmin. It’s quite prominent here. Overall a very beautiful perfume! The best of this line Edit: I take it all back. The jasmine is so incredibly musty and indolic and it actually made me gag a little. Couldn’t scrub it off, it lingered after a shower. Interesting though that I didn’t catch it at first sniff. With that said – not a safe blind buy! Especially if you’re sensitive to indolic white flowers

The 3 of 5 in this collection are great examples of how violet/iris can go different directions during a perfumer's creative process. Balade de Figuer and Petale d'Ambre have clear connections (on citrus-petitgrain department), just like Parfait d'Orchidee, Romance d'Iris and Brulant Violette do within violet/iris department. Parfait d'Orchidee is surely a violet-benzoin-vanilla-musk fragrance, think of Prada Candy. There is seemingly a mistake on Fragrantica, listing "Siam" as a separate note, but I assume editor's error because "Benzoin Siam resin oil", as a geo-indicator to the scent profile (Siam, Thailand) is one of the most common and preferred benzoin varieties in perfumery. Just like Vetiver Haiti, Vetiver Sri Lanka, Vetiver Java etc. The balsamic, almost slightly burnt vanilla pod note of benzoin and vanilla provides a nice warmth to otherwise a familiar violet-musk blend. There's a slight hue of jasmine as well. This is a very likeable scent, this collection is quite the hit honestly.

I tried this one many times. I really like it, it is a very complex one. I love the white floral opening, the hints of iris, the creaminess, the dry smoky vanilla on a drydown. But. And this is why I did not buy it (at least yet). It changes so much on me. It's quite a long ride: from white florals to creamy to dry smoky vanilla. Yes I do like all the phases, yet somehow, I do not want it all in a single perfume. If that makes any sense... I will keep trying anyways

I agree with the person below who said it was really indolic and stale breath-y. Not a fan. Very stinky and overpowering to me. I can see how the drydown reminds people of eau duelle but please try it before you buy it as a dupe. (Then again, I'm also not a big fan of eau duelle sooo take my opinion with a grain of salt)

So, this has been macerating for a while now and when trying it again after not having used it for a year at least it caught me by surprise how well rounded this smells and smooth. It's a rich opulent smelling perfume , like a soft cashmere plaid that envelops you in sexy allure and chicness. Well done Madame Malone.

This smells like the discontinued Ispahan by Yves Rocher. Spicy yellow floral. I detect cloves, mimosa, ylang-ylang. If you know that someone you love used to wear those vintage (Habanita type) of perfumes, please get them this for Christmas!

This is a weird and almost disagreeable blend in the heat. It smells organic and like something edible from an asian greengrocer. Maybe tea, or a pastry with a very non western flavoring.

Surprisingly indolic - and this coming from someone who has a high tolerance to the stinkier facets of jasmine. Very stale breath-y.

Really nice, but ...no projection, no sillage, nothing. Stay very close to your skin, about 3-4 hours, then dissapear.

Are the notes wrong here? I detect lilac or another heady floral it's slightly indolic.

It is extremely similar to discontinued Accord Chic by Yves Rocher.
