Petit Violet

This sold out online in the UK once already. I can see exactly why. The opening is verberna, a lot of zest to me. It’s bright and great for mornings after the shower. Then the magic happened. I’m a fortunate soul for whom Byredo BdA lasts for ages. It’s also amazing on clothes so when THIS turned into the scent trail/echo of BdA I was so pleasantly surprised. It’s not a copy but it’s a fitting tribute and given the price point, the longevity it’s fantastic. This is also nicely unisex, given it serves as a sophisticated freshie. If you like a clean perfume for summer, I think this is pretty remarkable for the price. It’s happy.

It’s so good I broke my five month perfume no buy streak for this. It opens with refreshing verbena and settles into a delicate violet in the dry down. I don’t really pick up leather—if anything, it leans more toward a soft suede, like others have mentioned. Surprisingly long lasting, too. I sprayed some on my pillow before bed, and the scent lingered in my room for two days. I can’t wait to wear it in the summer.

lemonhead candies and sparkling herbal lemonade followed by sweet and musky parma violets and a smooth suede. on my boyfriend, the opening smelt strongly of the mrs. meyer lemon verbena cleaner. the dry down only differs in being more herbal and muskier on his skin. this is bal d'afrique's quirky younger sister that is enrolled in art school.

To me, this is the perfect combination of Si Lolita and the original Anna sui. Absolutely incredible. For a Zara fragrance, this is top notch in my opinion.

My favorite perfume from Zara at the moment. Very fresh and citrusy , I think they also have some bergamot notes but not sure.

Strong fresh powdery Violet/citrus scent, its longlasting and have much projection. Very good Jo Malone creation.

It's mostly citrus. Very, very citrussy. In the drydown, you get a bit of a soft violet, but for the most part, it's all citrus. Glad I didn't buy the full bottle, but the 30ml that came in a package with the Montmartre in Spring diffuser (which is much more pleasant than Petit Violet, honestly). I'll wear it, sure, but it's also kind of giving bug spray.

This is a unique scent. It smells exactly how lemon sherbet tastes, if that makes sense. It's a very soft violet mixed with zesty verbena, slightly sweet but still very fresh. The performance is moderate on me and I think it's definitely worth buying at it's price.

I'm 50/50 on this one. For me, it opens like Mamba- those fruity chewy candies - and that part lasts maybe 20–30 minutes before fading away. Then a lovely violet comes through, but it doesn't stick around for long because the leather quickly takes over. Unfortunately, leather is one of those notes that always makes me feel a little sick, regardless of the perfume. So while I genuinely think the opening is beautiful and the way the accords transition is really interesting, it's just not something I enjoy wearing. BUT it's Zara new gem and last long for its price!

Opens with a super sweet, sugar-coated candy and dries down to a gentle violet. The opening candy note projects and the nice dry down is intimate. Disappointing and not for me, but sweet lovers will like this one.

I agree with the lemon candy comment 💯. I also smell something Smokey or like a blown out candle in this as well. This is not something I would wear

I was drawn to Petit Violet for two reasons: the beautiful violet-coloured bottle and the promise of a violet-centered fragrance. Violet is a note I rarely resist, and the collaboration with Jo Malone only added to the temptation. The opening is unusual, but in the best possible way. The violet and verbena dance together in a way I wasn't expecting at all. It's simultaneously fresh and lightly powdery, creating a contrast that feels both nostalgic and modern. I found myself repeatedly sniffing my wrist, trying to figure out exactly what was happening. The pairing is intriguing, airy, and quite charming. The leather note remains mostly in the background for me, lending a subtle texture rather than any obvious leathery character. For the first couple of hours, I was genuinely enjoying the experience. It felt artistic, a little quirky, and refreshingly different from many modern floral releases. Then came the dry down. Unfortunately, this is where the fragrance completely lost me. What had begun as an elegant and fascinating violet transformed into something that felt oddly stale and musty on my skin and very unpleasant. The image it conjured was that of a forgotten bottle of perfume sitting for decades on a grandmother's vanity table—faded, and slightly sour around the edges. It turned "vintage" in the worst way. It's a shame, because the opening showed so much promise. Petit Violet takes me on a wonderful journey for the first two hours, only to leave me desperately wishing I could return to where we started. Adding insult to injury, the fragrance is remarkably long-lasting. Eight hours later, and after two determined attempts to wash it off, I can still smell it lingering on my skin. Normally, I would consider that a bonus. In this case, however, it feels less like impressive performance and more like being haunted by a dry down I never wanted to meet in the first place.

Montmartre in spring is way better than this one. A beautiful flower tea scent. Petit Violet smells like vomit.

It’s a freshie for sure! Very herbal but the violet does silently project with sheer consistency. It reminds me of a fizzy sherbet lemon, although lemon or bergamot is not listed. It’s clean and fresh without the sweetness of the average, basic cheap gourmands that are everywhere at the moment. I like its quirkyness. Not much leather but can detect a touch of suede. I once had lavender ice-cream with rosemary and it reminded of that. Like nothing I’ve ever tasted before but certainly something I’ll never forget. I like its uniqueness. If Willy Wonka had a boujee perfumery in Florence this would be on the top shelf. Bravo!

I was very depressed by this- yet another hideous sugar bomb. Screaming sweetness and a bit of verbena managing to get through. Forget any violet- swamped by sugar and not in a good way. After 2 hours a mild leather managed to get a word in edge ways but too little too late. If you want a really excellent candied violet with leather, try Candy from Strangers.

Fresh citrusy violet. Almost identical to Blue Orchid by Lanvin, but with citruses lasting longer. Almost no sweetness, if it's there it is very subtle. I own quite a bit of gourmands so I'm more accustomed to sweeter scents. Al in all it's a good scent! Very fresh, but feminine. For a hot summer day it's perfect.

The initial spray is offensive, smells like a citrus bathroom cleaner, but the dry down is sooooo beautiful. I have a small perfume that came in a set with a home fragrance and I am now on a hunt for the full size bottle. Its a musky, powdery, summery skin scent, that doesn't wash off in the shower.

For 70% of its life I smell lemon candy but the dydown is beautiful, musky with just a pinch of lemon and greenness. Decent longevity, small projection. It is good.

Delicious, fresh and sweet handmade lemonade. With yellow lemon peels. Violet and verbena ? Maybe. Not sure. Or only like flavored ice cubes, in the summer drink?

Very verbena forward with dry smoky-like violet. The dry down is like lemon candy. Quite unique in today's fragrance landscape. Very nice for casual wear.

Beast mode performance, do not overspray it, like I did. It can be headache inducing, especially in high heat. Scent itself is beautiful

I love this one so much, but the 100 ml bottle holds me back. I want a smaller size and I hope they'll make it eventually.

why am i getting mcdonalds in the dry down. i like it but i don’t get any violet, just citrus :(

Juicy vetiver and some violet. Vetiver is the strongest note, slightly gourmand, I like it 7/10
