Place Dauphine

Very unique scent! It honestly smells like the cologne version of a quality shaving cream (in a good way), or even perhaps ADG minus all the floral sweetness. Very fresh, light & peppery, with a whisper of ginger sweetness over a beautiful salty, ambroxan base. It’s delicately masculine with good projection for the first hour. Longevity is around 4-5 hours. Essentially a traditional barbershop style fragrance with ambergris & ginger to give it character. Great surprise from Zara!

Place Dauphine is, in my opinion, the best fragrance in the newer line of Zara, Paris Stories. Out of all of them, it is the most youthful, unisex and energetic. It is mostly soapy, with touches of sweet and aquatic. Very well blended. Could easily become signature scent. Very hard to dislike this, honestly. Worst thing is performance. You'd need quite some sprays to get some decent longevity, but for the price, not really a problem. 7.5/10.

A very light cologne, refreshing for summer months. The lightness of this composition plays ambiguity with the notes, is it floral? Is it marine? Or musky citrus? A bit of everything in a restrained dose, although ambergris is more pronounced. It’s a well executed casual fragrance, easy to wear, almost a skin scent from the beginning, charming in its simplicity and beauty.

This opens up watery green, there is a cold vibe glassy-ness. Then the orange and ginger show up reminiscent of Carolina Herrera's 212. This then gives way to the ambergris playing tricks on your nose: it amplifies other fragrances around. The entire Paris Stories line are special, well thought out options that are an incredible value for money. This is unlike anything on the market today.

Named after a Parisian square on an island in the Seine, one could imagine this fragrance wafting by in a cool springtime breeze. Easy to wear and like.
