Red Temptation Elixir Parfum

I’m a guy who owns this fragrance and I think it’s fantastic. I was with my girlfriend shopping around and when we were waiting in the line we wanted to try the colognes there. In the men’s section I didn’t really find anything that was unique, most of them were citrusy aquatic fragrances and some nice oud fragrances but nothing special. Then my girlfriend showed me the red temptation perfume which she quite enjoyed (she loves sweet perfumes) and said that she also tried the Elixir version but said it was too manly and strong. So I tried it on myself and thought it was absolutely amazing, the sweetness combined with the woodiness and spicy amber was so delicious to my nose I had to get it right away. It also smelled different on me than it did on my girlfriend, it smelled more masculine and woody. Overall the performance is really good, I’d say the projection is like an 8.5/10 and the longevity is also an 8.5/10. It is not as beast mode as BR Extrait but it gets the job done it lasts for about 9 hours and if I’d want to make it last as long as BR I’d just overspray it.. This is an amazing Baccarat extrait dupe and saved me a LOT of money because I was interested in getting BR.

This has officially become my signature fragrance. It appears that the jury is divided as I'm scrolling through, some people love it, some hate it, some feel completely meh about it. It's a lot to do with your skin's chemistry and that would be particularly true when you love certain fragrances on others but not necessarily on yourself. Zara RTE garners a lot of compliments in my work and family circles. It runs parallel to BR540, I'd say about 70% DNA, so it truly makes a decent substitute if you don't feel like remortgaging your house to get your mitts on BR540. Projection and staying power both are well beyond moderate, the fragrance is definitely detectable after 5-6 hours. A fabulous juice for the upcoming winter, bold, classy, uplifting and comforting at the same time. Thumbs up, one of the best fragrances that Zara ever released.

I have BR540 and the extrait but I don’t feel like I need to waste those bottles now that I have this and the original red temptation. I like this more than the original RT cause I tend to go nose blind quite quickly to the original, whereas this one tends to last the whole day on me. I still like the original to switch it up as it is not as sweet. This one is really sweet and has a much stronger silage. When I layered this with Rose Gourmand, people kept telling me how amazing I smelled all day. It’s really good and I think worth the added cost. Don’t get me wrong I’m also angry we are getting less ml for more $ but it’s still a fraction of the cost of BR540 so I’m okay with it... kind of. K no but seriously Zara stop doing this!

The EDT version of Red Temptation is one of my favorite fragrances, so when I saw the Elixir version at Zara, I sprayed it on my hand to see if it still smelled the same. Then, I forgot about it and went about my day. In that period of time, I washed my hands three times, I took a shower and went to sleep. I woke up in the morning and I could still smell it on my hand. I genuinely have no idea why it doesn’t last very long on other commenters. It’s true we’re all different and have our own body chemistry. For me, though, this is so long lasting I went back the following day and I bought it immediately.

i know this one smells very similar to the rouge baccarat but it also smells very identical to crystal rouge by Diane Castel. i got the Crystal rouge a day before i purchased this in Zara not knowing they are literally twins!!! the Diane Castel is more niche designer so it smells a little more expensive and sweeter in a way.. it smells fuller if that makes sense. Diane Castel is a more complete fuller perfume of the saame exact notes imo. so when I smell the Zara red temptation next to it, it smells thinner or weaker if that makes sense. Both smell really lovely overall!

For me, this one starts deep like Megamare. It’s nit the same as Megamare is not Salty where this one almost is. But it’s that feel. Then it fades to the popular “BR540” note and some fruity sweet mixture. Definetly worth trying. It’s also strong and longlasting. In comparison to normal RT, this one is sweeter, fruitier, without medical taste and better blended. RT I can’t stand even on others, this one is on My wishlist

Oh yes! I have been looking for a baccarat rouge 540 extrait dupe. One that is feminine and has the same DNA and not goes masculine in the dry down. For me this is a yes! Praline, with saffron and jasmin! So good! And the top notes stays through the Journey! This is strong, long lasting and projecting I love it!

I love this. It's 80% OG Red Temptation without the rubber/dentist/plastic/medicinal component with 20% Red Temptation Winter. However, the OG and the winter version both last much better on my skin than this. Not sure why.

Fantastic perfume for winter, very long lasting and makes me feel cozy in the cold. ❄️

This is one of the perfumes that TikTok made my buy BUT I don’t regret it at all. It smells exactly like Baccarat Rouge 540 and the longevity is equally good (if not better). The only thing that differs from BR540 is the way it dries down. I feel that BR540 is more complex and multidimensional, while red temptation is the same in the dry down too. Overall, it’s an exceptional perfume that lasts that long that I washed the clothes that touched my neck where I was wearing it and after the washing machine and the dryer THEY STILL SMELLED THE SAME. If you’re like me and you can’t afford BR540, run to Zara and get this one. It’s seriously good!

This is a decent copy of BR540 Extrait but it doesn’t have the same magnetism of the original. It’s not strong on me but it does last a good couple of hours, albeit quietly. I wouldn’t rush to buy this again. Zara perfumes generally just don’t last on me.

I agree with @skarski91 that it’s missing the nuttiness factor. It feels hollow to me somehow. I’m going to try layering it with a nutty almond lotion and see if that helps. I’m not mad at it though. Definitely a cool weather /night time wear

When i tried it the first time at a zara store it smelt amazing on me, but when i bought it i found the smell to have a harsh woody+medicinal smell i am not a big fan of. hoping to love it again i'll use this bottle and see.

im at my second bottle rn, love it! i will say its definitely one of those mature old money perfume rather than something girly so if youre into youthful perfumes you might not like this

It's a lovely perfume (better performance than Red Temptation for Her) but way overpriced I am afraid. I might purchase it when it comes down in price.

It's really good, but i get a static television note. Not sure if it's the smell of burned electricity or plastic.

It's very sticky and comforting when it sinks into or warms up to the skin. It develops beautifully. I would suggest to not go overboard with it because it may become overwhelming. I've never smelt MFK BR540 Extrait, but I do own the original BR 540, and while this is a good dupe with some more depth and less airiness, I do prefer BR just because it smells more sophisticated to my nose. However, I find the Red Temptation Elixir to be much more agreeable to layering than BR and this is how I prefer to wear it. I usually spray some gourmand with it, so it makes the gourmand smell more mysterious and kinda stickier (not in a yucky way) or I love to combine it with some zesty citrusy scents like Virgin Island Water for example, and it kind of warms it up and makes it a tad dessert-like, or like some fun sweet cocktail 🍹

Imagine they made an unscented version of BR540. I've worn eau de toilette body mists that last longer than both of Zara's elixir and extrait perfumes.

It smells lovely yes, but after 10 minutes it gets overwhelming for me, unfortunately it makes me nauseous...

too cheap smelling for me, strong but in a bad way- alcoholic and synthetic, headache causing.

Sin embargo, en mí sobresale la nota de cuero y no deja espacio para nada más en la estela. Si bien estamos en verano y el calor influye, definitivamente este perfume no es para mí. Me quedo con el original. Realmente me huelo la mano y es como sentir un cinturón de cuero 🫠

I love BR540 extrait and encountered Red Temptation Elixir near the cash wrap at Zara. From the bottle, it smelled eerily close, the heavy glass felt nice in my hand, and this lead me to make the terrible mistake of spraying it on my wrist. No less than 30 seconds after, I knew I needed to get it off my skin ASAP. It smells like BR540 mixed with some completely feral stench - like someone dumped an entire bottle of the EDP on sweaty, unwashed ass and steeped it in a cheap latex glove for several weeks while burning incense from the gas station. Scrubbing it off in the mall bathroom did not work and I was blasted by the smell the entire drive home thanks to my dashboard heaters. I was finally able to eliminate 98% of the smell by doing a sink full of dishes and then vigorously scrubbing myself up the elbows with a bar of Zote laundry soap. I’m still getting whiffs of it, but I think it’s just my imagination, and I’m going to take a break from the real thing for a couple weeks until I can forget all about this. If I had never smelled BR540 before, this might have ruined it. My most hated perfume has always been Clinique Happy and it’s flankers - I find it headache inducing and completely intolerable, and it has been aggressively marketed to me since I was tween. Red Temptation elixir immediately took its place as my personal Worst Smell of All Time. It’s so awful that I was compelled to write this review.

the only thing i smell is this offensive metallic/mineralic scent. reminds me of salt but also a bunch of chemicals. genuinenly makes me gag and i am very much into non-traditional notes. i don't even know why i have this strong repusle when it comes to this perfume, but i can't stand it.

this is the worst perfume i've ever smelled. the only thing i'm picking up is pool water pumped with chlorine. absolutely disgusting i don't even know what scent they were aiming for with this one because it's just PURE CHLORINE

I don't know neither the original Red Temptation nor Baccarat. This is my first meeting with this type of scent. First about the sillage and longevity. It is potent. I sprayed it once, sat in the corner of a room and my husband sniffed the air and asked "What smells so medicinal?" This was the bandage note that BR540 is apparently famous for. It last 1+ day on clothing, about 20 hours on skin and has about six feet projection. One - two sprays is definitely enough as it gets pretty nauseating if you overspray. About the scent itself - I definitely can smell the sweet bandagey note in the opening. I'm guessing it's the mixture of saffron, bitter orange and pralines. It smells as if thin cotton bandages were ironed with a very hot iron. Clinical, sterile, slightly sweet. Then praline comes out to play and the scent is very sweet and strangely fruity for about 1-2 hours. The base note is very salty for me, not marine-salty but more like metallic saltiness if that makes sense, and you can still feel the echo of fruity-woody sweetness together with amber. To me, the least detectable notes are the Jasmine and Musk. This is definitely not a floral woody musk, I would call this an atypical salty gourmand. I think if you liked Reveal by Calvin Klein you might like this too. I get pretty anosmic to anyhing but the sweet ambert saltiness after like 4 hours.

Zara Temptation Elixir is a fragrance that is quite similar to Baccarat 540, I could say that it is almost an intermediate between the edp and the extrait. It lacks the almond-shaped and slightly dirty part of the extrait and also lacks that crystalline output and surgical iodine of the edp. It has many characteristics of both Baccarat but it is not completely similar to either of them. But it is a very interesting fragrance if you like MFK perfume. It opens sweet, even a little fruity, and quickly turns dark to that woody strawberry candy. Its sillage is not beastly but it does surpass Red Temptation OG, the durability is excellent on clothing because the handkerchief where you sprayed it will smell of this elixir for days. It is definitely a very good bet for autumn and winter due to its good price and its quite elegant execution. Edit: This Elixir has a slight gasoline smell at first, then it is quite sweet. It's not bad, but the cutest of the Red Temptations, for me, is the Winter 2023, the delicious praline of this one surpasses them all ☺️ and too Red Temptation Vanille Zara is very good.

This is missing that almond note. Not a bad take on a supposed dupe but it doesn’t hit the mark - coming from a BR540 EDP & Extrait owner. It certainly gives the BR540 vibe without paying BR540 price tag. It’s not that close that you can’t tell the difference between Red Temptation & BR540 - those that know BR540 v well will be able to distinguish between the 2 - hence the missing the mark comment. I believe it would more said along the lines of there’s a slight similarity & likeness there. The extrait is nuttier/almondy and more woodier than red temptation. BR450 extrait is a more rounded & well projecting scent, red temptation is more linear closer to the skin & doesn’t project as well. Red temptation has a citrus note in it, the extrait version doesn’t have citrus notes does it have praline in it. Does this remind me of the extrait version?: no as I can intimately smell and distinguish the difference between the 2, as said before I intimately know BR540 EDP & extrait, so there’s taking that into account.

A warning on this one - I tested a bottle in Zara - a single spray on the back of my hand, didn't like it (but love others with this popular profile) and carried on with my day, I had popped in to test some perfumes before going to the cinema. I spent the entire film getting super strong whiffs of this, didn't turn my stomach but I wanted it to stop. The film had an intermission so I scarpered to the toilets and SCRUBBED my hands. Still there. People, I didn't stop smelling this off the back of my hand til THE FOLLOWING WEDNESDAY, several showers and countless hand washes later. Never happened to me with a perfume ever, my skin eats perfume anyway & if I want it off, a shower always fixes it. It caused genuine panic, I really did think some ingredient melded with my skin & I was doomed to smell like the dentist forever. Clearly not others' experience but fair warning on this one!

To me this is very very similar to the original Red Temptation. Maybe the elixir is a bit smoother, less of that bitterness in the backgroud. But the bitterness of the original EdP is also a part of it's charm. I didn't really test the longevity but it was already enough for me on the original so I don't care that much. Overall I'd say don't buy this if you have the original Red Temptation and even if you don't, test for yourself, whether you prefer the smoother Elixir or the original, I can't say one is better than the other.

Pretty good dupe of BR540 Extrait. Quite strong in the opening and lasts around 8 hours for me with strong projection for 3-4 hours. Don't overspray though, as it easily gets nauseating. Has a bit of that medinal undertone to it unfortunately. That is where I notice the quality difference, as BR540 Extrait never made me nauseated. But for this price, I would say it's a very good fragrance. Definitely much richer and rounded than the original Red Temptation.

Zara Red temptation elixir is on the first sniff very close to Baccarat rouge extrait BUT the difference lays in detail. Baccarat rouge has this smooth almond creaminess where in Zara's offering this part is very synthetic, almost ammonium smelling to my nose. Both are potent ,but Baccarat rouge potency is not unpleasant, where in Zara it makes me sick after about an hour.I am still to find a great dupe. Goes to show how great creation original is.

Not worth the price. Smaller bottle high price but literally nothing particularly special about it? You'd think it'd last longer or smell different in some way. Get ready yall, zara is going to increase their prices for all of their fragrances (more than they already have) and we will no longer have this affordable option. They should specify why this fragrance is SO worth it..

one of the best perfume I own, it is sooo strong, so lasting, I can spray it once and it will last on my clothes for days, I love a perfume I can smell on me all throughout the day, I've got so many compliments on that scent too, very similar to Baccarat Rouge 540, so feminine, smells expensive, one perfume I'll buy again and again no doubt, perfect for fall/winter.

It’s nice but it’s weak. I’m an over-sprayer and I bought it on a weekend trip and when I got back home, I already had a huge dent. Point is, I would not have this much of a dent if both silage and longevity was good. The orginal has better longevity and silage, yet this smells more luxurious. It’s a shame it doesn’t project like the og.

Some reviewers need to learn the perfume smells bad on them. Yes, it's you, not the perfume. On clean well moisturised skin this smells very close to Baccarat Rouge. Learn your skin chemistry, learn your preferences and learn that it's very often your subjective experience, not a fault of the perfume.

might be the only one who just doesn’t get the hype. The smell of this literally makes me nauseous & induces a headache. Every. Single. Time. This also happens when I smell Burberry Her which is supposedly a dupe. I guess this scent DNA just isn’t for me.

This smells nice but it does not last and that’s the disappointment, I’m a Zara fragrance lover and most of my purchases are a win but this one was ok. But for the price hey can’t complain too much.

The regular red temptation from Zara seems to be a much nicer and better blended scent. This one actually gives off some sort of “cooling-minty” smell that just doesn’t resemble br540 to me :((

I really had hopes for this. Dry down just smells like TCP Antiseptic Liquid - that's all I can smell Such a shame as original Red although not complex is a nice cheap day to day

Out of all BR540 dupes I've tried, this one is the worst. It smells 100% like iodine and medical substances.
