Red Temptation For Her

I will start by saying this...WOW. Here's the story: I heard about Red Temptation when it was initially released last year when it was getting Baccarat comparisons. Of course due to the comparisons, it was sold out last year and never restocked. I checked literally for months as I bookmarked the page in hopes to catch it in stock one day. As someone who owns both Baccarat & the Extrait, who on earth wouldn't want a similar scent for more than 75% off of the original. My experience with Zara scents has been hit or miss but they have definitely had some absolutely amazing ones in their roster such as Exclusive Oud & Tone Indeterminee which blew my mind when I had them years back. I saw a TikTok on Twitter of someone reviewing Red Temptation last week and I said to myself aww I remember I wanted that. I went to Zara's website to look at their Fall/Winter scents as I do every year and what do you know? Red Temptation is Back In Stock. I still have the old link saved and it's expired. I wanted to see if the same notes from last year's release were in it. I instantly put 4 in my cart and then I re-evaluated because what if it didn't smell like Baccarat and I'd be pissed because I went off reviews? So I removed 3 and ordered 1. It actually isn't even delivered yet and is still in transit to get to me next week. But I went to Zara yesterday on a whim to see if they had it and what new scents they had. I almost missed it as it was hidden behind a few other testers. I smelled the top before I sprayed it. Yup, if you were blindfolded and both were held up to your nose you would not be able to tell AT ALL! Do you hear me!? I then sprayed on a tester strip, on my shirt sleeve, and on my wrist. The results? On my skin, it was gone in a matter of an hour. On the strip it had lasted about several hours before I was unable to smell it anymore. On my shirt sleeve, over 24 hours later...Maison Francis himself couldn't convince me this isn't Baccarat. The only downfall is the initial spray. It really does smell like a huge BURST of alcohol and it's really not welcoming. To me at least. But that lasted for all of 10 minutes if that before the scent started to shine so I can't complain too much because once that fades off, the magic happens. My shirt is laying next to me on the other side of the couch and I constantly keep getting whiffs of this. I'm really in awe. It's sold out on Zara again as of today 9/24/21. I can assure you when they restock I'll be purchasing several bottles. So glad I made that initial purchase. But should have went with my gut and got 4 as planned. For $25.00?! I will end by saying this...WOW *Update 9/27/21: The smell is still lingering HEAVY on the shirt I wore 3 days ago. This juice is amazing. Zara has certainly done it again.

Contrary to most, I adore Zara fragrances whether they successfully dupe famous houses or can stand on their own right. I bought this back in the spring after it finally came back in stock, in the red box set that included a smaller size of Red Temptation Summer. I also own the Baccarat Rouge 540. While I love BR540, I am not a fan of how the spray on my skin has a sticky feel, like soda spilled and did not get properly washed off. Red Temptation is BR540 without the stickiness, or the sharp topnote, of which I suspect is the saffron. I would call this a sister, not a twin, of BR540. Red Temptation lasts about 6 hours on my skin, a tad longer on my hair and the longest on my clothing. Good for hot, humid weather or anytime I have to be around people in an intimate setting. I strongly recommend actually spraying this onto your skin when testing, as opposed to in the air or on test strips. Upon first testing it in Zara shops I actually could not smell it. Finally, as a last note this bottle cooperates well with decanting into travel-size atomizers. Zara fragrance bottles are made out of significant glass but I worry about traveling with them anywhere! Get your nose on it if you have not already!

I see a lot of terrible reviews for Red Temptation, but this is one of those Zara perfumes which have a beast performance, amazing 7-8 hours longevity (which is great in comparison to expensive 150$ perfumes with 2-3hour longevity), sillage is to die for, whenever I move I can smell it in the air. Some are saying it smells like leather or burnt plastic, but not on me, I am someone whose skin chemistry doesn't blend with most floral, fruity or other high-end perfumes, perfumes just don't last on me (even with body lotions and oils combination), this smells sensual on me, almost aphrodisiac and lasts forever, amber is strong, but in a sexy sultry way and the combination notes of saffron blends too well. Although it is too strong for summer/warm weather, and over-spraying causes a bit of headache, but then performance also increases a lot. Good for office wear as a statement scent but shouldn't be sprayed a lot. Probably a few spritzes on pulse points and a mist on clothes is the ideal way to wear it for the day/office wear. But I love it and I would absolutely repurchase the full-size bottle.

Blind buy based on the raves of Cocopebz on YT. I really enjoy this fragrance--its longevity is amazing! A good 6-8 hrs for me, where as most of the fragrances in my collection last about 4 hours, regardless of price/ EDT v. EDP v. extrait. There is a marshmallowy bandaid like note in the opening of the fragrance but it dries down to a creamy warm ambery fragrance that is slightly sweet. I don't have Francis Kurkdjian's BR and have never smelled it. But this fragrance does remind me of Burberry Her Intense. Since Burberry Her Intense was recently discontinued this is a great find. Also, since MFK BR and Burberry Her Intense are both made by Francis Kurkdjian, there is obviously a common DNA to his creations. The similarity to BHI is most notable at dry down with RT a bit more airy than BH Intense. Ignore the vitriol in the reviews here--seems to be much drama in the reviews of this fragrance claiming symptoms like migraines, nausea, etc. To put it simply, if you like Burberry Her Intense you will enjoy this gem, that sells for 1/3 the price. If not, it may not be the fragrance for you.

So I've never been able to get my hands on a BR540 sample but I've read so much about it and all the different dupes. Red Temptation by Zara seemed to be the most similar according to perfumers. I was so excited to smell it, at first the metallic smell caught me off guard even though I had read about it. I asked the lady at the store to spray some on my wrist while I looked at the clothes and see if it'd grow on me. After 5 mins or so I couldn't stop smelling my wrist, the sweetness combined with the rough metallic smell is such a delicious combination. I ended up taking a 30mL bottle to see how I felt wearing it an entire day and it's easily become my new favorite perfume. I can't get enough, first time I wore it my uber driver asked me for the name of it and had me look it up on his phone so he could take a picture because he said he had never smelled anything like it. Duration is great too, it stays on your body for HOURS. Absolutely love this scent and will be going back to get the full size. 10/10

I got this perfume for Christmas and HATED it on first smell. I am prone to headaches and very sensitive to musk - I can't stand the AG cloud body spray because of this - and that was all I got from this initially. Left it sitting after those initial sprays, came back to it now half a year later - more just to see if I could use it for layering - moisturised my forearm, gave it one spray and it smells... really good?!? It's warm and spicy in a way that reads slightly more cinnamon to me than cardamom but in a really soft way. Spices are another thing than can trigger headaches for me (despite my love for them) but here the cardamom is complimented by the praline, bitter orange. This is very long lasting but easy to overspray. I've also found that you need a well-moisturised patch of skin for the notes to sit nicely This will be my go-to for in the office in autumn.

I'm glad that when I passed by the Zara in Westfield Chatswood, I tried some of their frags - scattered on a shelf, nobody were paying attention to them, and some boxes were not in great conditions. They were treated as cheapies, as they actually were. I was surprised pleasantly with the quality of the fragrance! Decent longevity: after 4-5 hours I could still smell it on the skin, longer on textile; decent scent: start with a syrupy caramel popcorn smell which you can often smell in a cinema, and proceeds to a lovely sweet musky scent. I also trieed MFK 540 at Mecca, but I couldnt' bring myself to like it. While Red Temptation is supposed to be a dupe of 540, I found myself preferring this one by a lot. I just got a 30ml bottle to try out. When I go through this bottle I'll get a 100ml one. This will be a staple in my frag cabinet.

Tested this on one wrist and the original BR540 on the other, safe to say this outperformed!! The opening is still alcoholic (similar to the "ambroxan bomb" of BR) but this was less prominent in my rollerball compared to the spray I tried in store. Both had a similar dry down, but I quickly went nose-blind to BR540. From what I did smell, it was very similar to attar sadaf. Red Temptation evolved into something warm and rich, with a subtle sweetness, jasmine aura and prominent saffron note. I'm a huge fan of saffron in particular, so this saved me the expense of Maison Al Hambra's Exclusif Saffron. Definitely a winner!

Went to Neimans and sprayed BR540 Extrait on my right arm. It was barely there by the time I got to Zara...(already a disappointment), then sprayed Red Temptation on my left. There are definite similarities, but I much prefer this fragrance, as I smelled it all night long and when I woke up in the morning. It wasn't just my nose tuning out BR either as I asked my bf and those around me and they all picked up on Red Temptation alone. Note* This doesn't resemble Cloud whatsoever. It is NOT sweet, coconutty, or anything of the sort. Definitely unisex and grown.

The quality and longevity of this perfume for the price point is amazing. This definitely smells similar to BR540. I wore this for the first time today and went out to dinner 6 hrs after applying. A waiter from another table was looking at me for an extended period of time without saying anything. I smiled at him hoping he would tell me what he wanted. He eventually walked over and said “I’m sorry what perfume are you wearing? Could you write down the name for me?”. I was surprised others could notice the pleasant trail it left 6hrs later!

I am absolutely in love with this scent!! I have no idea if it smells like BR540 bc I’ve never smelled that but this is amazingggg on its own!! The silage and longevity are incredible, my friends will be walking behind me and say like I get a wiff from here, I wake up after sleeping and still smell it, my mom and sister smell where I’ve been in the house... literally so good and for the price??? A must must have! I get many compliments, my boyfriend loves ittt and it truly is just a staple I won’t live without

Easily one of the most complimented fragrances in my collection. As someone who loves ambery and sweet scents, this was an easy love. It's warm, addictive, and has a way of making people ask what you're wearing. I especially love layering it with VS Midnight Bloom mist and lotion - the combination is sooo good!! I know the Baccarat-inspired DNA isn't exactly unique, but there's a reason it's so popular. It just smells good. Even after trying many other fragrances, I still enjoy reaching for this one. 9/10

this is probably the closest dupe to br540 out there. it's got that sweet, slightly "dentist's office" burnt strawberry jam scent from the ethyl maltol (literal crack to my nose), but it's still grounded by the moss which really comes out more on the dry down. is it overworn now? yeah, but i can see why! it really is the perfect everyday scent: not too sweet or too fresh or too anything. plus, the projection and longevity of this frag is honestly great--it's even lasted me through a shower!

I can’t speak to its similarly or lack thereof to BR540, but I do love this fragrance. It doesn’t have the best longevity or sillage, but at its price, I can afford to reapply and put on a few sprays at a time. This is the one scent I’ve been asked what it is, which says something. It’s one of my go-to fall and winter scent for sure. Fragrance-sensitive and picky husband approved?: Middle of the road. He says it projects a lot and isn't unpleasant to him, so that's something.

I got a roller, to see what the fuss is about. I wasn't expecting a BR dupe, just wanted to see the type of perfume it might be, a shared DNA. But this...is this a joke? That's not a perfume, it's the smell of burnt rubber, as someone already mentioned, and not in a good way like something Comme des garcons or Etats Libres d'Orange would make. An absolute abomination, and if BR is anything like this...sorry, it's some sort of mass hypnosis. Scary.

This fragrance deserves every ounce of hype it has garnered. On me it smells phenomenal. In warm weather it smells like you are sat on a hotel balcony enjoying the breeze and your skin smells of woodsy body products mixed with salty skin. In colder weather it smells like the fresh woodsy air on me without going too masculine. This fragrance is firmly unisex but I love it, coming from a girl who loves her stereotypically feminine fragrances.

Not as rich as BR540 (obviously) and not as sweet as Arianna Grande - Cloud. It is definitely earthier. For a cheap high street designer perfume, this is excellent. Lasts a long time on clothes and longer than Cloud on skin, maybe 6 hours and you still have a faint nutty, Amber, moss scent with a sweet note. I really like it and enjoy it. Great to wear daily to save your other more expensive perfumes for special days. Gets compliments too.

Updated review, it’s like the newer versions don’t last as long . The ones I purchased a couple of years ago when it first became popular were very long lasting so something has changed. I definitely won’t repurchase because the newer batches are weaker. The older ones would last on clothes for days. I hate when they change the fragrance. This was my third purchase and it’s weak.

I get none of the sharpness people mention - it’s quite a weird one for sure: I read comments comparing the smell to burnt sugar and band aids and I certainly get those, especially that slightly first aid boxy thing - it’s very sweet on me. I wear it a few times a week and always get comments, not that I care! I enjoy it and at 20€ a bottle (a big bottle) have no complaints

Maison in french means house. Francis Kurkdijan is the perfumer who created BR540. It's too funny when I see hundreds of people saying Maison Francis. His name is Francis Kurkdijan. The brand he CREATED is Maison Francis Kurkdijan which translates to = The House of Francis Kurdijan. So I hope this changes in time to come. Poor guy keeps getting called House Francis! Hahaha

Quite the most alluring fragrance I've come across from Zara. Warm spicy yet sweet. The orange and saffron top notes ensnare senses on the first whiff, the charming jasmine and amber comes out slowly, the musky sweetness stand out most on the dry down. Smells absolutely irresistible on my skin (can't stop savouring the smell). My absolute favorite among the collection.

Initially disliked it but grew to absolutely love it after smelling its’ dry down. This scent is what I think a “man-eating” woman would smell like. Sweet but not in an overly childish way. Spicy but not in an overly mature way. The longevity is also crazy good. I still smell it on me after a long day of walking around and sweating.

First spray is peppery, but it dissipates quickly into this amber mossy scent. Perfect scent if you want to make a statement; but it may not be a good blind buy for others. Longevity is great as it stayed on my skin for over 8 hours. Sillage maybe overwhelming so one needs to try it out with only a few sprays at first.

I’ve been waiting to get this as I love BR 540 but wanted to keep it for special occasions, this is a pretty good dupe! The opening is a burst of Saffron with an ever so subtle citrus twist, dries down to this elegant chocolate-musky gorgeousness - the price point is amazing too, I will definitely buy this again!!

This is probably the most commercial MFK BR alternative that’s branded and pretty accurate to the original. Performance compared to MFK is weaker but it’s still really value for money at just a small fraction of the price. For me it fades into a faint skin scent in about 4-5 hours.

I am anosmic to the original BR540, so I thought I will not be able to smell those, but I actually do and I really like them. They are so comforting and nice. So I am just wearing those instead, because wearing the original BR540 makes no sense as I cannot feel them on myself.

Almost a clone of Baccarat Rouge for a fraction of the price. I tried the tester at 3pm and by 11pm I could still feel it very strongly on my wrist, so the next morning I ran straight to Zara and got myself a bottle. I absolutely love it. And it gets me compliments very often!

Smells like chai latte and gingerbread, a really warm, sweet and musky smell for everyone. Really fits for autumn and winter season, it also reminds me the of color of orange leaves 🍁 I layered it with a milky scent to smell excactly like chocolate milk haha

I received it today as soon as I sprayed it I hated it. Then at the end of the day it stays fixed on the skin and is softer. It does its job for the price. Very different aroma, I'm getting out of sweets. I still don't know if I like him or not.🫡

This is such a good dupe for BR540 - perfect for a lighter version or added over the top. The dry down is exactly the same to me, just gorgeous and for £18 for 80mls it’s brilliant!! Highly recommend ❤️❤️

Amazing scent for a low price, no need to compare it to 540 or cloud. Of course the similarity is obvious but it's a nice fragrance on its own.

The best BR540 dupe in my opinion - amazing value for money! I don't feel the need to invest in the real thing now :)

Love this. Very similar to BR5490 but red Temptation is slightly sweeter. For this price this is very well done.

OK... with all due respect, I can't believe some comments here. We all know this is a BR540 dupe. But we all also know this is $20 and the other goes for $ 350. So, how can you whine about some "sharp note", "lack of sweetness" (which by the way, for me is preferrable), "alcoholic smell", etc.? It is still 90% BR540 for less than 10% the price. What do you expect? Please, use some common sense! Of course the materials can't have the same quality, but all in all, it's mostly the same. If you can / want to spend on the original, that's great, you don't even need to look at this cheap replacement so it shouldn't bother you. On the other hand if you can't afford the original, or just think it is really not worth the price, or don't love the scent profile as much (like in my case), this one does the job pretty well. Besides, it's very long lasting and has great sillage, which is not so common in Zara perfumes. So for me, this is really great and I'm thankful I can have it, even though I'm not the biggest fan of BR. I also have Cloud (which I also like) but the Zara one is more long lasting and projecting, and it's much more elegant and grown up. So I can wear this one to the office, while Cloud feels too casual for that. When I'm in the mood to spend more than $300 on perfume, I go for Coromandel or some other Chanel Exclusif. But of course this is a personal matter.

I bought this a year ago as a blind buy and fell instantly in love! The moss and amber were the most prominent notes on my skin. My boyfriend at the time loved it on me as well. The longevity was not very good though and needed to reapply every 3-4 hours. I stopped wearing this around April last year as the weather got warmer and I moved on to my signature summer scent. During the fall I started really getting into perfumes and would start testing different kinds and even took a mini course on perfumery. As I'd been busy testing different things I had not had time to go back to Red Temptation until a few days ago. This time I was very confused by the smell. The lovely moss and the amber was still there, but I also smelled a weird sharp metallic note. I'm not sure if this is because it had been on the shelf for almost a year or my sense on smell has changed/evolved. The longevity is now better though and lasts about 6-7 hours. (Although my skin is probably more hydrated now than what it was a year ago) Anyway, I'm sad it does not smell the same to me anymore. I have not smelled BR540 so I wouldn't know if it smells/smelled like it.

A great fragrance for when you have a cold! When I first smelt it, I was not impressed and would say it is just OK but this is great for when you have a cold as you can actually smell this and it is sweet, spicy and soothing. Update: I haven't tried Baccarat as it is not really in my preference zone but I've had the chance to try a lot of similar fragrances now and I have to say I like this the best as I find it to be the lightest of them all. Oh but that does not mean this is a light fragrance no, no, no my friend, this projects and lasts 3-5h with ease. I also have the roller ball to carry around. I'd say it is a great comforting but at the same time ladylike and elegant fall/winter fragrance. Though careful with the amount 1-3 is enough, and only if you are not in enclosed spaces, could become nauseating. Though not sure how it is similar to could, I find cloud to be sweeter, lighter, cozier - more of a sleep time scent with lavender and also more boring spice wise when compared to red temptation.

I bought this perfume for my mom after she smelled it on someone in public and asked for the name. She fell in love with it but ultimately never wore it because she has a sensitive nose / migraines and it was just too strong for her. I ended up inheriting it because, well, it’s been six months and I think she’s worn it maybe once. I’ve been trying to put my finger on one of the top notes because I couldn’t identify it... it’s the saffron! To me, this perfume smells adult: like the beautiful latina and arab women I knew and looked up to growing up. It’s sweet and powdery with a surprise edge. It makes me want to throw on my hoops and a smokey eye and go out on the town—it’s that kind of scent. If you have a sensitive nose or are predisposed to migraines from smell, this scent is probably not for you. But it’s a nice scent, and while I probably won’t wear it everyday either, I will definitely be adding it to my repertoire.

I get strange pictures poppig up in my mind when I smell this perfume. A vintage golden jewerly box with red velvet inside. I see a woman with pale skin, red lips and a white fur hat. I feel cold snow swirling and a warm fireplace. I cannot say why but I sence this fragrance is the perception of russia, not the real life russia but the romantic, dreamy version of russia- as a perfume. The saffron offers spicyness and amber makes it warm wich creates sultry sensuality. I feel some powdery notes but not too prominent but it gives mystique from a past place, like some historical building or church. It's dry in that way yet creamy and lays well on skin. The floral and praline accord makes it feminine and sweet, but not in a cheap way, more like a juicy, dark, ripe cherry, very classy. With the bitter orange, I get a Negroni cocktail. Bitter, spicy, gin-dry, orangy and little sweet. Like this perfume. Absolutely stunning.

This stuff is so strong and lasts for days on clothes! Smells more similar to BR540 than cloud, though I do prefer the overall scent profile of Cloud, this is beast mode. I wouldn’t overspray or it will give you a headache. I bought this bc I love the DNA of Cloud and BR540 but I can’t afford the real thing and Cloud doesn’t last long enough so this was a happy medium. It’s so cheap for the amount you get and the bottle is really heavy and high quality. I’d definitely recommend it if you’re looking for a baccarat-esque scent that’s 1/10th of the price! Edit: I did make the mistake of overpaying and i ended up having to wash it off my skin it was just too much, definitely not one you want to be wearing around the house or to bed or anything.

this is an amazing scent ! got it as a gift and i seriously thought this was 100£+ expensive , i was shocked to see it’s only around 20£ , sometimes a bit less. i agree that there’s a sharp note that might be bothersome but i personally love this , the longevity is amazing and people say this is my signature scent and they always think of me when they smell anyone wearing this. excellent dupe for br540. i have cloud as well , and although just thinking about them they don’t seem similar , smelling them side by side cloud is a tiny bit sweeter and more airy but apart from that you can smell the same base structure. i definitely recommend this fragrance and if you don’t like the sharper notes , try cloud.

My friend was wearing this & I couldnt get enough of it so I decided to buy a bottle I have to admit I was a bit dissapointed, I know fragrance smells different on everyone due to skin chemistry etc but this didnt sit well with me. I got the intial hit of the metallic/ medical smell which is almost headache inducing, as it wears it does settle to a spicy, musky smell - I dont get any praline which is what i was looking forward too. The longevity is brilliant for the price point & lasts all day. This to me is a heavy Arabic scent which smells lovely on others but not myself, I have given this to my mum so i can now appreciate it while not getting a headache!

When I initially bought this perfume over a year ago, I bought the 100ml bottle and it was horrible. It was sharp, masculine and had none of the DNA that BR540 had so I gave it away. A couple weeks back, I was browsing Zara and thought I would revisit RT and purchased the roller ball. I'm not normally a fan of roller balls but I swear, the roller smells so different to the bottle. It was spot on, slightly less sweet than BR540 but pretty damn close! Very glad this has worked out as I was about to drop $$ on BR540 and now I don't. If you find the bottle too much, definitely try the roller ball. I find this wears a lot better in the colder months too.

I don’t know what to think of this one. Yes I do get BR540, but this one is missing that sweetness. I think Red Temptation for her leans more masculine. There’s something that bothers me, something bitter. Longevity is just meh, unless I go nose blind to it. Though 2 people that have never smelled BR, said red temptation smells nice. Not sure. If they added sweetness to it it would be a favorite of mine. Edit: after a couple of uses the sweetness is maybe coming through. I’m starting to like it for every day, running errands, things like that. But I still get something screechy. Though colleagues compliment me for it from 6 feet... it must perform.

i honestly dont know what i feel about this fragrance. the opening is terrible it smells like hand disinfectant i used during pandemic but as it dries down i can finally get this ambery earthy sweet smell. performance is great for the price and its a high quality fragrance but i only can smell three notes: amber,moss and saffron. when it dries down i still can smell the hand disinfectant alongside with sweet amber notes. i wouldnt use it tbh. do not blind buy it and make my mistake. imagine sweeter baccarat rouge with hand disinfectant.

this is a sweet ambroxan bomb, in the style of BR540. i do think what you get is what you pay for: its a linear fragrance that smells good, if not extremely synthetic. i could see this bothering people who have a strong aversion to synthetic scents and get headaches easily. i do believe that since BR540 is so ubiquitous and expensive these days, i think buying this instead is a good option for a lot of people. bottom line: it's strong, it lasts, it's cheap.

I am quite new to the world of fragrance, so last year, when my new hobby started, I was introduced to the smell of Baccarat. I didn ́t have a chance to smell Baccarat itself, but I tried a few dupes just to see, what the hype is. Ok, I get it. It is unusual, it is quite fresh, however, there are some notes which could be unpleasant for some people, as it reminded me of hospitals. Zara is a nice perfume, the only thing I minded was a poor longevity on me.

It smells like soft sweet smoke to me, like some kind of a vape. Similar to Ariana Grande cloud, which I’m not the biggest fan of. It is a unique scent but scents like this are pretty popular now, so I guess it’s not that unique anymore. I have received feedback from some men, that really like it but I personally won’t probably end up wearing that very often. Update: the more I wear it, the more I like it :) went from 5/10 to 7/10 for me
