Rose Marshmallow Candy Eau de Toilette

To me, "Rose Marshmallow Candy" (the name) is misleading, as I don't smell any rose or floral notes in it. The notes listed on Zara's site, however, are quite accurate - marshmallow, blood orange, and vanilla. On first spray, it is a bit zesty (perhaps from the blood orange), but seconds later it sweetens and warms beautifully on the skin. In the dry down it becomes a soft, powdery sweet marshmallow. Zara's Femme (of recent years) has a similar, uniquely comforting powdery texture. The marshmallow note I get from this isn't toasted, it's more like those twisted pastel rainbow marshmallows or even the dried marshmallows in Lucky Charms cereal. Really lovely and quite unique in my opinion! So much so that I just purchased a backup bottle! :) Update: this reminds me of Killian's Love, Don't be Shy. RMC has a much simpler composition and softer sillage, but it is somewhat similar, nonetheless!

The name can be misleading, as I do not detect any rose on my skin. As a marshmallow lover, this marshmallow is softer and powdery, but still very pleasant. Rose Marshmallow Candy can be very for layering, as it is not strong enough for me, but it adds a beautiful sweetness and compliment perfectly others fragrances. Be patient and wait for the dry down to completely enjoy the full potential of this fragrance. It's only after 10-20mins that I can smell and see the similarity with Love don't be shy by Killian. It's not a dupe by any mean as LBDS is much complex and more orange blossom centered but it definitely shares the same DNA. Edit : It doesn't smell like LBDS, but it's the scent profile and it is very close to LDBS extreme, which softer and less sweet than the OG.

This fragrance is pretty, sparkling, bright and sweet in all the right ways. The marshmallow is show-cased beautifully alongside the other notes. I bought it for my son as it's from the kids section and he got more compliments than me even though I was wearing La Nuit Tresor. Agree that it should be marketed to adults because it’s just that good! Every time I brushed past my son I would get a beautiful whiff, very good longevity and silage for an EDT at an amazing price point - I now have a bottle in my collection too. Such a beautiful, sweet, soft yet powerful and unique scent. This is what LDBS should have been in my opinion... 🤷🏾♀️ 23.3.23 - I think Zara have discontinued this :( I knew I should have bought back up bottles!

I bought this as a recommendation from a Fb group saying it was a dupe for LOVE DONT BE SHY. It is not. But it is not a disappointing buy either. When I first sprayed it I got a strong pink medicinal smell. Like the one you had to take as a kid for colds. I hated it! But I gave it another try and fell in love!!! I’m a gourmand girl. And marshmallow is one of my favorite notes. This scent is beautiful for an EDT. It lasts on me and my clothes the entire day and sometimes I even smell it on my clothes the next day. The rose scent is also beautiful when the dry down hits. 10/10 recommend.

This is gorgeous! Just creamy marshmallow candy with a tiny, tiny hint of vanilla. It's probably discontinued, as Zara always do, but I cross my fingers. Regarding the LDBS comparisons, they are NOT similar, not even close. I don't understand how people can compare these, let alone calling them dupes?? It seems like whenever two perfumes share one or more key notes they instantly become dupes. They are nothing similar. I would prefer this any day, even if it had the price tag of Kilian's.

Love at first sniff <3 this perfume makes me think of a story with a girl, in knitted sweater, who drinks Pumpkin Spiced Latte in the Old Town's Starbuck's, is blonde, blue eyed and beautiful, and looks at leafs that fall over the street, where people are in a hurry, and she just stays and looks with joy and a touch of melancholy at the nature that dies in front of her eyes. Beautiful ! <3 Siaj is strong, longevity is moderate, price is small, smell is adorable <3

This is a great fragrance for your wallet. It’s sweet, soft and smooth, like a marshmallow. I would compare this to G&G Pour Femme (not the intense version). This would be a playful younger sister to D&G. I wore this to bed and woke up with the scent still on me, not bad. This is a true marshmallow fragrance.

This is a lovely warm skin scent! Definitely recommend if you like ariana cloud or prada candy leau. Although it's a kids perfume i would say that its mature enough for an adult of any age! Great for cooler weather but could be worn in summer. Its a great price i would definitely recommend this to anyone!

It’s back! Just a different bottle. Thank you Zara for re-leasing this, and no, I’m not referring to the Barbie perfume - that was not the same juice. Zara have released this exact juice very recently.

Additional information from my previous review, since this perfume has been discontinued. Amande dragée by Adop't is 95% similar to Rose Marshmallow Candy, especially when you let it sit few minutes.

Marshmallow-y, vanilla-y deliciousness with a kiss of soft floral This is incredible. I don't even know what to say other than I absolutely adore it. Iykyk. Don't sleep on this one.

This is lovely! I get marshmallow, orange juice, vanilla and, weirdly enough, violet but candy-style: like Parma Violet sweets/candies. This is too good just for kids!

Anyone selling their bottle, please let me know. Or if you know a good dupe/alternative for this fragrance. So sad I can’t find it anywhere! :(

Edit: Not the same thing as Barbie, Barbie is more complex, it has a well defined opening of strong tea like neroli, a mid of candied flowers and strong tonka. The only thing they share is the treatment of the marshmellow note. We can say that Rose Marshmellow Candy is just a fase in Barbie! This is a cloud of sweet and airy marshmallow, with some added orange which gives it a peculiar twist! It has a marshmallow note for sure, it is light and smells like marshmallow do when they are not yet put on flame, the vanilla is the edible kind, literally smelĺs like the essicated vanilla pod that you can buy in store to use in pastry, and the blood orange smells exactly as the real thing, only in here it is more sweet and a little burnt (if that is even possible); but I think there is something more in it, something lightly rosy, lactonic and almondy, almost imperceptible but it is there, there is also the same light musk that the other two from the same collection have, clean and fluffy, although this fragrance is much more warm and sweet then the rest of the Emotions, The Glaze collection. The effect of the fragrance is airy and light, similar in texture and feel to Cloud by Ariana Grande and it shares a bit of that imaginary too.... a young girl, innocent and happy. The fragrance has a doll quality for sure, and it even has a bit of that doll head smell that I so love in fragrances. This is not really my genre, too sweet, juvenile and synthetic, but this is a collection dedicated to children and adults that wanted to recuperate that feeling through smell, even if for a few hours. Personally the only time I use it is when I need to restore my mood, this smells happy to me because it is the exact same, literally same 100%, to a perfume that I used when I was a teen, it was the 90's Malizia Vanilla deodorant that I used as a perfume because it was so pretty and delicate, sweet and airy, and projected too. Jo Malone quote about the fragrance was: "Like bouncing on a trampoline of roses and happiness" and it perfectly captures not only the texture and nature of the scent but also the feeling of a young teen while spraying her perfume and thinking of her first crush, light headed and butterfly in her stomach. At the time I could not yet afford the prices perfumery had in my city, I was 11 I belive, Rose Marshmallow Candy was such a trip down memory lane, as all three fragrance from this collection were. So for this reason I appreciate it greatly, Jo Malone really hit the mark with this fragrances. I think almost every girl is gonna like this one and almost every woman will be reminded of her youth, marshmellow, camp fires and first crushes. Performance are similar to the others from the same collection, 4 hours of lasting power and moderate projection in the first two, overspraying and reapplying is a must. This was available in a 40ml but you can only find it in a set now, 15ml each. I would not go so far as to compare this to multifaceted and more complex scent such as Love Don't Be Shy by Killian, or Oriana by PDM, or even Guimauve by Reminiscence, it was not meant to be a dupe or a complex fragrance and it also smells different then those. Another that I know well in the *remainds me of * section is La Stanza delle Bambole by Nobile 1942, one of my favorite, I see where the comparison come from, and while they share that gorgeous doll head character, an allure of innocence and an evocative nature, I can assure you they are much different (but probably it is the one to which it is more close). Jo Malone did so well in this collection for children and nostalgic grown-ups, she hit the mark because all three in the collection are her usual photoroleastic scent but being part of the Emotions, The Glaze collection she really managed to make them less serious and evocative of happy childhood moments, happy smelling and lively without being overly synthetic or too cloying. The presentation is another strong point too...from the beautiful neat outer packaging, even presented in candy wrapping for gifting (if prefered to the box one), to the transperent glass bottle with colored juice and matching caps. I wish they had made the 90ml too, but they are only sold as 40ml or all three in a pack of 15ml each. They are now on sale for almost half the price and I am hoping someday she will add some scent to the collection, a banana one from Jo would be incredible.

Overview: I have been looking for a fragrance like this one for some time now. I recently started my journey. My first buy was Nina Ricci's Nina Soleil. The vendor recommended that to me when I told her I was after a scent I smelled when I was a child, a candy-like perfume. We couldn't find what I was looking for, and after I told her I was drawn to Citrus fragrances, she suggested that Nina. I liked it, but I'm still learning to wear it and love it. Then, I crushed on Guerlain. After reading many reviews and pondering if I should spend that amount of money or not on a bottle, I decided to go for it and bought Guerlain's Mandarine Basilic. And I love it! But it's winter here, and Mandarine just escapes this cold weather. So there's that. I have been hunting for a comfortable fragrance, something warm and delicious, sweet but not cloying, to wear in colder weather. A friend of mine recommended Zara's fragrances for their quality and relatively (I'm from Argentina) low prices. I went to a store and took the opportunity to smell everything on their shelves. And two fragrances stood out for me: Grapefruit Incense and Rose Marshmallow Candy. Since Grapefruit only came in a 90ml bottle and I was already spending on clothes, I went for the latter. And here we are. I do like it. Although it smells nothing like that childhood scent I once encountered, I feel this fragrance connects both of my interests: Citrus (in this case, not acidic) + Candy. About the perfume itself: The presentation is clean. It's an affordable perfume, but the bottle is sturdy, and the plastic cap doesn't make it look cheap. Golden-Rose juice appears warm. First sprays, if smelled directly, remind of plastic/medicinal components. But once it starts to settle, I'd say right away, that dissipates and gives way for a very rounded creamy-orangey-candy. I tend to go light on sprays when it comes to sweet fragrances to avoid unpleasantness, and I do believe this scent could turn unpleasant if abused. With light spraying, I get all the goodness. Decent longevity; yesterday, I put it on in the morning, before work, and for 8+ hours I could still get whiffs of it coming from my clothes, and I could definitely still smell it on my skin. Sillage is good in my opinion, from moderate to intimate. I don't want to overwhelm when wearing perfume. If worn correctly, I believe this could definitely be a work-friendly fragrance. I would recommend it. If I end up using it regularly and still like it, I would probably re-purchase it, as it is affordable and an overall good bang-for-your-buck fragrance.

Jo Malone's creations for Zara are always worth a sniff. Simple but good-quality, they are always worth a try. I got a discovery set of these three Glace perfumes, only to discover that they are aimed at children. I needn't have worried - they are pleasant, undemanding feminine scents, sweeter than is typical for Jo, but very on-trend, in keeping with the myriad gourmands on the market these days. Rose Marshmallow Candy is a soft, sweet vanilla gourmand, sweet from initial spray. The marshmallow-vanilla accord is what makes up this scent. While synthetic, it is feather-light in the manner of Ariana Grande Cloud. It becomes a little cloying after a while however. I personally don't enjoy very sweet scents, so it could be simply due to personal taste. Despite the name, there is no rose here - it remains a linear powdery vanilla scent with sweet orange emerging during the drydown phase. It remains like so until final fade. Sillage and longevity are moderate. A youthful feminine scent, RMC is sweet and unchallenging, and can be worn year-round. A great affordable scent for teenagers and young women. A nice, inexpensive alternative to Ariana Grande perfumes, but too sweet for me. 2.5/5.

I’m not mad, I’m just disappointed. I have a small candle from Aldi’s that is “rose marshmallow” scented and smells so very delicious so I searched for a comparable perfume. Well lo and behold I find a perfume called exactly that (and cheap too!) so I blind buy and eagerly wait it’s arrival. Upon application....um...what??? I detect neither rose nor marshmallow, just a very synthetic, maybe vanilla-ish, sweet scent. Cue the song “disa-poiiiintMENT”. Not exactly unpleasant, so I’ll keep for now and probably use for layering, to sweeten up fragrances that need it. Comparing it to my beloved Kilian Love Don’t Be Shy or Hypnotic Poison would be an insult.

At first spritz this smells a bit synthetic. But as soon as this dries (1-2 minutes) it starts to smell so delicious and fluffy.☁️🍡☁️ Like a cloud of marshmallows sprinkled with vanilla powder and a drizzle of orange syrup. I love spraying it to bed it’s cozy and comforting. Also, this smells NOTHING like kilian’s love. Kilian’s ldbs is a really sweet orange blossom scent with a marshmallowy vibe. This has no orange blossom at all. So keep that in mind if you are searching for a dupe then these two bear ZERO resemblance, although they are both so beautiful in their own way💕

I bought this blind because of the Fragrantica article about the best cheapies of 2021, and because a 40 ml bottle cost $20. Now, that’s a deal. Rose Marshmallow Candy is a sweet, fun gourmand. It’s easy to wear and I enjoyed wearing it. Acceptable performance for an EdT. I got light projection, then a skin scent, gone in a few hours. Not quite my thing, I gave it to my friend who i was having dinner with as she’s is a sweet fragrance fan, and she loves it. Bottle and packaging feel much nicer than you’d expect at this price.

I've been anxious to get this in the mail, and it's finally here! The opening smells like the Johnson's baby lotion in the pink bottle. Then it turns into a kind of generic, sweet vanilla in a good way. The rose sits in the background and the blood orange brightens it all, just shy of unnoticeable. To me, it feels like a mixture of the sweeter parts of Cloud by Ari and the Vanille perfume from Anthropology. Definitely a cozy yet pretty scent!
