Sultry Pear Eau de Parfum

EDIT: This is my review of the first edition. I find the second edition (2024) much more syrupy, sweet and powdery. Finally a Zara fragrance for which name and scent profile fit, it is indeed a Sultry Pear! Delicious without being gourmand, fruity without being juvenile and with a sweetness that is filtry, seductive and elegant. I feel a little of freshness in the opening, there is something a bit green and dewy about this pear, as if it were an acquatic fruit! Even dare I say something ozonic? Some undertone of aromatics are present too. The jasmine dances around the fruit and adds another beautiful light and airy layer, its a very clean jasmine, lightly floral and a bit detergent like which I enjoy a lot! The effect is clean and ethereal since the pear at this point is not much sweet at all. However, when the almonds note warms up on the skin the character of the pear starts to change, becoming more round and full, and caramelized. This is a very nutty almond and has a strong, intense presence. The almonds mixed with the praline, the vanilla and what I suspect it's musk smells almost like heliotrope; this mix is warm and pulsating and creates a sultry sweetness which envelops the pear...it is at this point that the fruit ripens with juice and sweetness. Still, the light and airy feel of the scent is preserved through the musk since it is much airy and powdery, and clean. What I would define as "kitten fur" musk in terms of texture. I think there is some amber too in the perfume and at tract it smells as if it's a balsamic amber, there is a benzoin undertone...the perfume has that kind of sophisticated and warm powderiness that only that kind of material can create. A mildly lactonic aspect is present too but I don't smell a classic praline at this stage. The vanilla in the dry down interacts with the left over almonds giving a confetti result. It smells like a light tonka which I find really exquisite. To smell a proper chocolaty and sweet praline we must wait until the end of the dry down, but at that point the scent is almost a skin scent. What surprised me about the perfume is that the clean and almost aquatic aspect of the pear (and jasmine) returns from time to time and beautifully coexist with the intense and warm ambery/vanilla sweetness. The musk, vanilla and amber used in Sultry Pear remainds me a bit of the base of Zara Hibiscus, which in turn remainded me a bit (just a bit!) of the amber in Paradoxe by Prada; Sultry Pear remainds me even more of the dry down of Paradoxe, of its sweet benzoin and musk, but praline makes this one more lactonic and gourmand-ish. I can also recognize something similar to the dry down of Zara Femme (the og, white or pastel yellow cube), of its powderiness and of its "kitten fur" musk. It's clear that Sultry Pear is inspired by La Belle family of scent by Jean Paul Gaultier: to my nose Sultry Pear is a mix between the more acquiatic and earthy pear of La Belle edp and the sweet, ripe and tonka full one of La Belle Le Parfum, as if they were the parents and this is their little baby... which makes me like it even more! I much prefer this kind of mix to a proper "dupe", it at least tries to have an identity of its own. I like the mood of the scent, that play between light and airy and then sweet and pulsating makes it enchanting! It is sultry and filtry, I find it sensual and I would have never imagined to say this about a pear based perfume. I think it would suit best a style and personality like that of Maddie from the hbo show Euphoria, a it/posh girl that may seem mean and bi***y but deep down has a big heart and loves life and light. I wrote the same exact words in my review for Paradoxe by Prada since both perfumes inspire in me the same images, I think this two perfume share the same allure although very different on an olfactive level. Sultry Pear is the one that performs the best in the Zara Chapter 6 Collection (togheter with Cherry Smoothie), lasts from 4 to 5 hours on me, drydown lingers much more; it projects moderately for the first two hours. Overspray helps but it can overpower you for the first hour.

What an absolutely stunning fragrance by Zara! It’s a jammy, not overly sweet pear. Not as thick and dense as La belle but lighter and fruitier version. It’s so addictive. Can’t stop smelling my wrist. Alsoo, I’m surprised no one has mentioned this but on my skin, in the extreme dry down, the pear kinda fades and I get this honeyed sorta warm vanilla base which smells almost identical to Jimmy choo illicit but softer. The honey note along with jasmine is so so identical to illicit. It’s almost like a cross between La Belle and Illicit. Can’t wait to pair them together. I’m definitely buying a backup before this gets sold out! 10/10. Edit- It’s been over 9 months since I had this and I don’t reach out for this much. It’s okay. Maybe a 7/10 now. Kinda lacks depth. The more I wear this, the more boring I find it. Don’t get me wrong, still a good fragrance but doesn’t do much for me.

I actually like this.perfect for a hot day. Sweet juicy pear almonds prailine and soft Jasmine. This does not smell like la belle at all! I'm not a fan of those and I like this. This is sweet kinda clean but still sweet and fruity EXIT: Strangely the dry down smells similar to black opium? No one else has made that comment but I swear the dry down smells very similar to it. I even compared and now I'm kinda stuck. Do I keep this or sell it? It's nice it's pretty Linear and an easy wear. I like it but I don't know it's so reminiscent to black opium after it sits on my skin idk if I'll keep it. It's smells good obviously I just not sure if I'll reach for it..

Great dupe for the lovely (and overpriced, short lasting and staining La Belle). Perfect replica of JPG for a great price. Cannot comment on longevity so far, but the fragrance is spot on Update: brilliant job, Zara! Don't you dare ever put this out of production. It is basically La Belle (i have both and can't tell the difference), except that it doesn't stain (fabulous plus!!) and it lasts LONGER than the original. To fans of La Belle: Go for it without any doubts!

I agree with the review below saying this is a JPG La Belle dupe. I only have Le Parfum so I compared the two side by side and they are remarkably alike. The initial smell of this is pretty incredible - a lot going on. Harsher than JPG though - all vanilla, praline and jasmine. The vanilla hangs on for a couple of hours and then it’s gone. Longevity is pretty poor, but for the price point you don’t mind frequent re-sprays.

This is such a GREAT dupe for La Belle by JPG! What I love about this even more than JPG is that the pear note lasts much longer in the Zara version before the middle and bottom notes start to take over. Either way, both of these are gorgeous, sexy, and sultry scents, but Zara smells and performs practically identically to JPG for literally a FRACTION of the price!

Just wanted to add that the 80ml are now sold at the price of 22,90€, I just found them in store today, if you really like it maybe you can save up some money that way! Probably the bottle will be standard though...not so cute! Edit: they kept the cute bottle and they are now on the web site.

It really is so similar to La Belle! I only own the Parfum from JPG which is a lot sweeter, darker and more nighttime but didn't want to buy the og because it felt redundant to own both, so this is a great alternative for a daytime sister scent, happy with my purchase :)

Fuck all these fragrance snobs. This shit lasts forever and smells bomb. It’s sweet, sexy and garners so many compliments. Out of my entire collection this is the only fragrance my mom requested her to buy her. She has standards (she’s a ginger) SO TRY IT

Opens with a deliciously juicy, musky pear and dries down to an even more delicious boozy praline. Name fits! Not the best longevity (lasts maybe 3-4 hrs on me) but well worth it for the price tag. Highly recommend.

I'm miserable that this was discontinued. It's not La Belle at all (Zara dupes hardly ever make good dupes) but I love it on its own. I'm desperate to find bottles of this and hope they bring it back.

Such a beautiful scent, very sweet and smooth! I just bought the small bottle and I'm tempted to go back and buy the large bottle.

I like it — it smells fruity and sweet. It’s not a 1:1 dupe of La Belle, but it’s very close and just a bit stronger.

This is such an interesting fragrance. The first notes are kind of sharp, fresh, fruity, maybe a bit medicinal. I don't like the beginning all that much, but after a few minutes it settles into this pleasant pear scent with some softness to it, maybe because of the almond notes. The dry down is absolutely beautiful with the vanilla and praline. It reminds me of Black Opium or Gardenia, which are basically my favourite scents. Sultry Pear is quite interesting in the way that it feels like two fragrances at once, a fresh, fruity and vibrant one at the start and comforting and refined gourmand perfume at the end. It lasts quite long, but the sillage is pretty intimate, I wish it was a bit stronger.

I was so disappointed on this - I perceive no sweetness at all, nor the supposedly sultry pear in it, it's just a very musky skin scent that isn't pleasant at all. Normally I enjoy Zara's perfumes but this is so difficult to wear! UPDATE: After a couple months, thanks to maceration it has improved and now it's way more wearable. It got sweeter and finally I can perceive the pear note. It's definitely a winterish kind of perfume though. FURTHER UPDATE: After some more months, it's getting better and better, the pear is now way more detectable and overall the perfume smells more rounded, if that makes sense. It even got me compliments!

Very sweet perfume, which does not go unnoticed, a "compliment catcher". If you are looking for an alternative to La Belle by JPG, I assure you that this is the best dupe you can find around, at a very low price. Last year I blindly bought La Belle Le Parfum, because I had read online that it was better than the classic version, however I regretted not having bought the other one, and luckily I was able to console myself with this one from Zara. Sultry Pear contains the DNA of La Belle and, to my nose, is closer to the original version, compared to Le Parfum which I find too oppressive and lady-like. Discreet sillage and persistence.

This one smells to me like a very department store type of smell, in the vein of La Vie est Belle and other stores that remind you of a department store. It's not a casual scent - it smells fancy, a little high-maintenance. It reminds me of a young lady wearing a light blue tweed suit, if that makes sense. I like it, but it's a little too high-maintenance for me. I think I'll save it for more formal occasions. Smells like sweet pear and praline mostly. The praline is probably why I'm geting LVEB vibes. I get some almond too. Very pretty, very fancy, but nothing different or groundbreaking.

This is not a dupe for JPG La Belle. Similar DNA, but not a dupe. JPG is a sweet, juicy pear right off the bat. Sultry pear is heavier and more cloying but not in a bad way. Just not as airy fresh as JPG. The dry down of Zara is sweet carmelized pears and praline. Both are lovely, but JPG is my pick. It's fresher and smells more luxe, as it should given the price tag. I will try layering both as that should be lovely too. Both are cozy and comforting scents. Lasts all day on me.

Very similar to La Belle but less rich and syrupy. Sultry Pear is like a lighter, slightly "dusty" version. La Belle is very much a winter scent, but SP is more spring/fall. This might also suit you if you like the general scent profile of La Belle but find it too heavy. I love La Belle and liked Sultry Pear enough to buy a big bottle for the warmer weather and to wear around home. Not a 1:1 dupe and doesn't smell as luxe, but a decent budget alternative for sure.

I would say this is similar to JPG La Belle La Parfum Intense but not a complete dupe. I can't speak to the original La Belle. On dry down, they become like sisters. This fragrance lacks the depth & warmth of LBLP. But could be an affordable option for anyone looking to save some cash but still enjoy a delicious Pear & Vanilla fragrance. My only gripe is the pear note is a bit screetchy when first sprayed. Luckily is disapates fairly quickly.

The pear note is super sweet & punches you in the senses on first spray. It's incredibly overwhelming. It really reminds me of L. by Gwen Stefani on opening (only.) The dry down is where this fragrance truly shines but by then, on my skin, it's turns into a skin scent. The nutty vanilla is beautiful. I purchased this because I heard it's a dupe for La Belle by JPG. I ordered a small bottle so I'll update this review.

This is close to La Belle le Parfum, but not quite a clone. It’s softer aka silage is close to the skin compared to LBLP, which has an amazing silage. It lacks the note vetiver, which gives le Parfum it’s smokiness. Nevertheless, it’s a cheap and good alternative. Will buy again as i find it perfect for layering with my unscented lotion and oil, before applying LBLP.

Got this since I love JPG ́s La Belle (saving money to get a big bottle) and smelled the pear right away in the store. I LOVE pear in scents. This is a good scent for it's inexpensive price, but it's not as deep and complicated and addictive as La Belle. A simpler and sharper version, lasts a few hours on my skin. Might try to layer it.

Comparing Sultry Pear to La Belle, I can see how people find them to be dupes. I‘d rank Sultry Pear to be quite similar to La Belle though by far not a perfect scent twin. Sultry Pear starts out somewhat sharp and alcoholic to then dry down to a green, slightly tart yet sweet fragrance that I do not tend to reach for. I prefer La Belle.

This is a super versatile scent and I really like it! The longevity is enormous and the sillage is good without being overwhelming. The pear note is delicious, the perfume is a dream for sweet-fruity-concoction lovers. I am not familiar with La Belle, but I can sense some small share of Divine's DNA in this.

Not quite the fresh, airy pear I prefer. More of a warm baked caramel pear. Still nice though. EDIT: The more it dries down, the more it reminds me of those caramel-coated green apple lollipops. Like, not as obnoxiously sweet, but disturbingly edible smelling.

Somewhat similar to JPG La Belle but definitely not a dupe, this is much lighter and I smell the pear more. Longevity and sillage aren't also anywhere near La Belle. Having said that, I like this very much and will purchase the bigger bottle.

I tried this scent by a chance, when I went to Zara to try the new "Vanilla Collection". Absolutely loved it! It gives you a not overly sweet but fruity feminine notes. Definitely not overwhelming.

I get no fresh pear here as I hoped. It was a creamy, sweet vanilla praline from top to base. Not bad, I like gourmands, but not what I expected it to be. Great longevity though!

I have this one and la belle. They do not smell alike. I don’t like la belle. I like this one, more juicy and fruity ✨

Love it sweet soft so feminine

I’m not the biggest fan of Zara perfumes- however sometimes when you want to try a dupe out- it’s a great solution. When I go into a store, I end up smelling so many perfumes that often times my nose becomes redundant and I can’t smell a scent no matter how hard I try. Classic examples being Narcisco Rodrigues and JPG. I got this to try out for full day wear to see what’s all the hype about for JPG. Tik tok really describes it as the most sexiest seductive perfume ever. Zara Sultry pear opens with a very sharp and checkmate note. Like an extremely sour, almost rotting pear. With that said, once you let it settle down for 5-10 minutes. That’s when the scent becomes so much more refined and quite lovely. The almond note is the star that saves the show. It creates a lactonic, almost comforting sweet bubble that tones down the sourness. Jasmine and vanilla are also a superb addition that smoothens the fragrance. It does end up sitting quite close to the skin. Longevity is moderate and so is sillage. For the price- it’s maybe worth trying if you’re curious.

Opening is a blast of soft, juicy pear in the same spirit as Hip Hop Red Apple. A brief, vibrant real fruit. It quickly dries to forgettable, fuzzy ambrox musk. It’s safe and pretty all the way through but I wish the juicy pear note were more long lasting. The dry down is identical to so many bland designer scents, with that specific pthalate-y fuzz common to the middle eastern houses which make dupes of feminine western fragrances. This is to JPG La Belle as Tang is to Cointreau.

I get the vibe of JPG La Belle but for me Zara is actually better? After some time I still can smell the juicy pear and the longevity is quite good for a price. If you want something similar (but not the 100% dupe) I would say go for it. I also own Paris Corner's Khair Confection and Lush Vanilla from Zara but they are not smelling like Sultry Pear (at least on my skin).

I echo the previous sentiment. I dont even know what im smelling. Apple pie? Then syrup? Nowhere near La Belle to me. Maybe I got a bad batch idk but thankfully it was only $14 lol I might revisit & update ~~~~~~~~~ 20 days later, it's a honeyed apple pie to me. Its not bad, esp. after a hot shower before bed. It was cheap, cant complain

I was a bit disappointed with this. I usually love fruity perfumes, so I was certain I would love this. But it just fell a bit flat to me, somewhat generic. That being said, I haven’t tried La Belle, so this is not a comparison of the two.

For a split second I smell pear and vanilla and then it transitions to very very very musty musk. Surprised musk isn't in the notes bc it's seriously heavy with that.

5/1/23First impressions, I’m disappointed 😔. I’m getting only something bitter. Maybe bitter almond? I just got it today, so I’ll let it sit and try again. I bought two of these listening to the hype and because it’s been sold out for so long. Honestly, I’m disappointed in the other fragrances in this collection also- cherry smoothie and marshmallow addict. Both suffocating and just not performing like I’d hoped. Didn’t even bother with the peach one because i don’t like grapefruit. Maybe these scents are meant for cooler weather except for the peach one. Peach glow may be the only one that can hang during the summer. I just realized what this fragrance resembles on me. BBW vanilla patchouli lotion from their aroma therapy line. 5/3/23 i sprayed it on my arm earlier today and i couldn’t stop smelling my arm. It’s growing on me. I think that i expected this fragrance to smell a certain way and when it didn’t i deemed it bitter, but i let go of what i expected and now I’m willing to give it another chance. Idk why but sultry pear’s reminding me of wicked vanilla woods by bbw. One of my favorites from bbw. We’ll see how this fragrance evolves over time.

An ambroxan-gasoline-pear. On me this is quite harsh. Judging by notes I expected a sweet, delicious pear but I don't get any of the notes listed except a little vanilla and pear. To me "sultry" in this case wasn't sensual but rather stuffy, sour and bitter. The scent is softer and sweeter in dry-down (mostly vanilla) but a slight smell of ambroxan-gasoline remains. Moderate longevity on me.

I don’t understand this fragrance, it’s doesn’t smell like La belle or even remotely like a pear to me at all. I only get a praline note and it’s not even pleasant.

Smells like too sweet syrup, like boiled pears. Overly sweet scent that gives me a headache.

The notes look fantastic, don’t they? You’re a fan of gourmands, right? Oooh abeautiful almond note and some jasmine-what could possibly go wrong? All resting on a smooth base of praline and vanilla. Sounds wonderful. NOPE. It’s really awful. Like, seriously bad. With this one I feel like they just made the notes up, hoping no one would actually test it, especially since my store doesn’t even provide testing cards. I can catch a hint of pear, but it’s extremely synthetic. All the other notes are generic bright perfume cloud of non-descernible synthetic fruityness. The kind of scent that makes people wearing perfume in public get a bad reputation due to the headaches it causes for everyone else on the bus. Pity me! My 9-year-old made me buy it so he could layer it with the slightly less vile, Applejuice by Zara. I’m trying to encourage him to love fragrance so we can share that joy together, which means supporting his choices and letting him make them. So, dear reader, I’ll pass on the discouragement here instead.

Everyone either lied or Zara wants me dead!!!!! To be clear I have had this macerating for 5 months with a 10% dent sprayed out for better oxygenation. And yet it still stinks. This is the smell of a $7 cologne a 14 yer old would buy mixed with sharp cleaning chemicals no longer sold in commercial western markets.

Why does every zara fragrance has either Vanilla or Jasmin, most of the times even both in all of them, just do something different for God's sake

Finally! I was waiting for a dupe for so long! La Belle is my favourite since I first bought it, I could wear it every day , I already used up a 50ml and then a 100 ml bottle, and it is very uncommon from me even to use up a 30ml! I get bored so easily. But this... And I have to mention that La Belle is very strong and longlasting on me, so I really apply it carefully, but yeah... I love it that much. But I have to say for my budget is a quite pricey one... And now... Every teenage girl will smell like this LOL. But I don't care. I love it, and it is 1/5 the price of the original JPG perfume, so I am really happy now! I am still testing Sultry Pear (love the name too), but the scent is perfect, and so is the sillage. It is long lasting on me too, but if it wasn't I wouldn't really care for that price. :) I love the drydown too, which is not always the case with ZARA perfumes. For this price it is definitely 10/10. Thank you ZARA! 🤩🍐🍦 Update: I tested them side to side on my arms. The first sprays for couple of seconds are very similar to my nose. When it starts to dry down, I detect a little less vanilla and more flowers in the ZARA one. But then after a couple of minutes I start to smell the praline/cocoa note which is not in the La Belle. That makes the Sultry Pear sweet and deep again. It is a bit weaker than the original, but not bad, and I actually like it a lot!! They are different, but not completely, and I have to admit, when I don't have both of them on me, I am not sure I could tell the difference. Which is big words since as I mentioned I adore JPG LB. Anyway... I don't even want another LB, I just want an option I love as much as I love LB and a perfume I could wear every day without spending all my money on perfumes. And this one seems to be the one! I really like the sweetness of it. :) If you love sweet, oriental (and gourmand) scents, definitely try it! And for those who tink it is too harsh, it's worth to wait the drydown guys!

Despite how little it cost me, I still feel like I was robbed 😑 I’m hoping I’ll take it out again later and it’ll have changed for the better, because every time I’ve worn it I spent the entire day feeling like I hadn’t showered. One day I even left a friend early than planned just to go home to shower. I can’t find the word for it. Just similar to when you wear cheap costume jewelry and it gets wet and starts to smell metallic and gross. Maybe you wore a bunch of jewelry to a music festival in June, and you spray some B&BW that’s been sitting in the direct sun for days in an attempt to try and cover the smell of 3 days of grime and dirt. But something in the perfume creates a reaction coming into contact with your jewelry and creates a noxious gas. So you smell dirty, fruity and metallic. Also, you probably also are some sort of biohazard so you avoid going near anyone. Great. Sultry Pear is on time out for me. She can stay in my drawer for a few months.
