Tobacco Collection Intense Dark Exclusive 2018

I am a big fan of Tobacco scents, couple that with the low price of these fragrances and the Zara Tobacco Collection becomes a no brainer. I had to try them, and I am glad I did! Intense Dark Exclusive gives me a good mix of bergamot, apple, black pepper, wood, tonka and tobacco on my skin. While I can pick out the notes, there is no note that totally dominates the other notes. Each note plays it's part of supporting the fragrance. Intense Dark Exclusive is very well made and a great value for the money IMO. A good safe scent without being boring. Also, my wife sniffed me and said, "Mmmm... I like that one." So that is a good thing! Intense Dark Exclusive is marketed to men, but I can easily see a woman pull this one off as well. It works in either trendy casual or a sports coat. I get good projection and longevity on my skin. Bottom line: this one is worth a sample.

Only 3 notes??? Okay, so there is a little story how I was able to add this to my collection.. It was a mistake on Zara’s part.. I originally ordered Rich Warm and Addictive instead, this was in the package. In order to get what I ordered, I was told that I had to ship this bottle to the company using my own money.. I am super happy I didn’t return this.. This is such a nice clean dark scent.. It seems more complex than just 3 notes and you would assume tobacco would be a note since it is part of the tobacco series... This slightly reminds me of Boss Bottled.. I believe that this is better than Rich Warm and Addictive, which I picked up last fall.. I get about 5-6 hours on my skin with decent projection for the first half hour.. Great for all four seasons, office/work, date nights.. Great product Zara! Rating 9.0/10

Zara Tobacco Collection Intense Dark Exclusive, batch #02040 The opening is a feast for the nose, with sweet vanilla and fruit before it quickly morphs to warm spicy amber. In the dry down which comes after about 30 minutes, I get mostly Oud and a tiny hint of smokey tobacco. At this point most of the sweetness is gone for me and it smells, well, yes, dark and mysterious. (How about that?) Much has been written about what a bargain this is and I have to agree. While it is true that the longevity is weak to moderate, for the price, it can be resprayed several times throughout the day. As I have mentioned in other reviews, perhaps my nose isn't as refined as many others on this forum, but I really enjoy each stage of the progression from opening to dry down and I will wear it often this fall and winter!

Yesterday i finally smelled 212 Vip in a store and yes, Zara Intense Dark Exclusive smell literally the same but without that loudness that make 212 Vip a clubbing fragrance. This is really underrated for sure, it's a clean, dark and comforting smell and unlike others, i have amazing lasting power and moderate projection with this, a bargain for the price. You can find it in a pack in combination with Zara Rich Warm Addictive so just buy them together, you will not regret it. The 2021 version has less concentration and it's a shame because it doesn't last as long as before, but thankfully i have the 2018 version and i'm happy with it. 8,5/10

This perfume is similar to the 2016 version but it's fresher, lasts longer and has a better sillage, probably due to a more prominent apple note and a stronger concentration. It makes me remember of a fruitier and sweetier (and better) Ferragamo F Black. I still have not tested it properly, but so far I like it a lot! I do believe the scent pyramid to be a lot more complex than what is shown above.

Very very similar to 212VIP, very long lasting performance on my skin and clothes, scent has nothing synthetic or cheap, it smells quite modern, even slightly sophisticated... and for a fraction of the price! so...

Amazing scent. Great for fall and winter. I do get the comparison with CH 212 VIP. Great price. You can blind buy this one easily. Out of the 3 tobacco fragrances this one is the most underrated.

Pleasent, fresh/spicy/sweet, but very weak unfortunately. As many have already said, this is a cheap 212 VIP clone.

This is very good for the price - tested many in the store today and this would be in my top 3 to 4 there - thought to add this comment because after testing, in my opinion I think this is a better choice than Gourmand Leather, Rich Leather and also Rich Warm Addictive. Only problem is that I can't see myself using this in a practical situation (and I have Spicebomb EDT anyway). I ended up getting Gardens in the Desert Sand - check it out! Update: Ended up getting gourmand leather instead! Despite the pungent note at the beginning, the leather gets better as it dries down - very manly, very long lasting on the skin. Had to get that one instead. :)

I agree with the user Carlitos , this 2018 version has a better performance , i have the same performance like the original 212 vip, but i only paid 12.95€ for the zara fragrance,and my 212 vip costs me 70€ . I think it is a close fragrance of 212 vip.

I really want to like this but i cant....that fresh spicy note in it makes me nauseus everytime i try it on :((( yuck i always want to scrub it off my hand....same note i could detect in La Nuit De LHomme but in LNDLH is well blended and not so prominent and it goes away quickly, luckily! Same goes for other fragrance from bundle Rich Warm Addictive i cannot stand it. I want to buy more fragrances from Zara but iam afraid if they will be so rough as those two it would be waste of money. RWA and IDE seems like not blended well, i know Zara uses same ingredients as other companies but this smells unfinished. They smell ok in the air but upclose...naaaah Idk there are hundreds/thousands of people who enjoy this stuff but not me. I would say try before you buy.

At this time on the eve of autumn, when the colder days arrive I always remember that I should pick up the spicier one, sweeter scents because summer is slowly coming to an end and enough citrus, fresh scents anyway! I was delighted to have this Zara perfume in my hand! Spicy, sweet absolutely autumn scent! In terms of its ingredients, it is not a complicated cocktail, however, the chords harmonize very nicely in it! Linear is linear, but I think the head scent is nicely separated from the later sweet, woody base ... I think it's a great choice for fall and winter! It can be a sympathetic, pleasant signature signature scent for those who love the smell of tobacco and want to exchange the freshness of summer for a vanilla, sweet, spicy atmosphere on colder days! It has great durability and I got it at an unbeatable price! Even at the end of the year, it can sound great around Christmas because the sweet base chord makes the atmosphere a bit festive, homey for both the wearer and their surroundings! As a tip, I even blew a little into the vacuum cleaner bag and it left a very pleasant scent then throughout the apartment!

For some reason, I get a brown leather jacket smell out of it. I'm smelling my wrist right now (I sprayed it 2h ago) and it's the only thing I can visualize out of the smell. I've never smelled 212 vip, but after buying and testing this one on 4 occasions, it definitely reminds me of 1 million after 1 hour of wearing it. It really makes me think of a toned down slightly modified version of 1 million with a very small touch of spice bomb. Usually I use 1 or 2 sprays of 1 million and I'm good for all night. This one needs 3-4 sprays and it lasts half of what 1 million does. I really enjoy it but it doesn't last long enough. I also bought zara gourmand leather which I didn't really like at first but I'm slowly falling in love with it. It's also as long lasting and powerful as the 1 million. It's much sweeter than this zara tobacco version which I'm usually not a fan of, but I'm slowly liking it more and more.

The 2016 release is the one you want. It is richer and better formulated. The 2018 gives you something close but it is not quite the same to my nose. However, unless you have a refined nose, it's not worth seeking one over the other. You have to be patient with this - easy to dismiss on first sniff. The aura or glow is what it's all about; if you can smell it you are lucky.

Dont know about your noses but this 2018 version is just similiar with the 2016 one, and a lot more weaker. Also the older 2016 is better in terms of smell, bolder. Where the 2016 goes for 8-9 hours with great projection for about 2-3 hours, the 2018 version stays max 5 hours on my skin with average to low projection. Just my two cents ✌

Carlitos is right, the scent pyramids on the most recent Zara fragrances added to Fragrantica are the three notes on the website and packaging. Unless if the fragrance is like say the point-0 series and has them on the front packaging.

Dry, sweet 'n spicy. I get all the notes, so no surprises there. Not bad. Unfortunately, it reminds me of Raid insecticide. I haven't tried 212 VIP, but I do find a distant resemblance with One Million, as someone pointed out below.

Its definitely tamed one million, drydown gives this cinnamon like bubble gum sweetness thats present in almost all clones or inspired by one million fragrances. But I still think its ok and I enjoy wearing it occasionally

Did they reformulated this again? I bought it today and the notes listed on the box are black pepper, cashmere wood and tonka. No apple, so I'm confused.
