Tobacco Collection Unexpected Fresh Spicy

I like to get to know colognes that receive controversial ratings, like this contended one for instance. You may see, some people rated it from 0 to 2 and some others from 8 to 10. That's life, in matters of taste, there can be no disputes. Unexpected Fresh Spicy comes approximately two years after the other two #Tobacco Collection's siblings, namely Intense Dark Exclusive and Rich Warm Addicted. Whiskey, tobacco, cinnamon, patchouli, sandalwood... Oh boy, this is impressive! A blast of goodness. It smells like bad intentions, bad decisions with a good time. Think rich fruit cake, delicious, served after dinner, this cologne is brimming with honey, cinnamon, nutmeg, clove, and nutty flavors. It includes an artful painting that takes both of those distinctive notes and places thoughtful flourishes of booziness, spicy reinforcers, and a group of classic base note ingredients that come together into a smoky, warm, and sweet composite. Unexpected Fresh Spicy welcomes you with a blast of boozy liqueur. It opens including toasty notes from the oak and well-defined aromas of honeyed fruit and golden syrup. Rich, but still clean and precise, with an appealing nuttiness. this is a big-hitting bourbon sweetish tobacco, with broad brushstrokes of honey, cinnamon, countered by punchy, peppery notes, some numbing clove notes, and toasty oak. Right of the bat, the boozy accord present in the opening reminds me of Jack Daniel's Single Barrel Tennessee Whiskey. A blast of spices, mostly cinnamon, and a dash of honey soon join the fray and I have to say it's very nice, an apple pie type of vibe. The boozy note is very good within this composition and adds to the character of the scent. ZARA could have called this fragrance Unexpected Boozy Spicy as the freshness disappears not long after the opening and the wonderful whiskey note lingers on throughout the life of the scent. The heart beats around sweetish tobacco. I’ve never been enticed to smoke, but I adore the smell of tobacco. I like to smell unique, and I also love the aroma of tobacco and this one is different tobacco. This accord is less of mellow pipe tobacco though it retains the delectable almondy inflection of tonka. It's a bourbon sweet tobacco mixed with flowers, herbs, spices or fruits. Often when tobacco is a note in a fragrance it smells nothing like it, this does. Broad strokes, it just smells like a dude smoking a pipe. Up close, and broken down: it's got a boozy bourbon accord. The tobacco is audacious, with a round woody whiskey note in the background that amps up the tobacco without taking the lead, played out over soapy musks instead of the classic sweet vanilla. It goes on dusty, dark, boozy, there's a whiskey accord, and then dries down a bit spicy, woodsy. After an hour or two, the fragrance smells much more amber, a wood-shot amber. A touch of amber and vanilla keep the fragrance from being too sharp. It lasts half a day on me. It’s a thick fragrance, but it stays within a few feet of my skin. The longevity is good, and the projection is large. This is not a subtle fragrance. It wears well in colder weather, cause the warmer it gets, the spicier it gets actually. This seems somewhat uncomplicated. Despite being dusty, it's still a very safe scent. It is a really good smelling tobacco, the sweetish smell you get when you put your nose into a packet of Amphora Vintage Malt Whisky tobacco, it feels well done. I glad I got my bottle before the train gathers steam. A compliments getter.

I sometimes wonder if people have actually smelled the actual perfume or if they are just annoyed that a cheap perfume can be extremely good! So they do whatever they can to minimize, dismiss and demolish. That does not work most of the time thanks to people who are not ashamed to like and enjoy a perfume no matter how cheap it is. Anybody who has worn the other scents from the Tobacco Collection knows the price is deceptive and cannot be a basis for judgement. Rich Warm Addictive and Intense Dark Exclusive are great scents that last a decent 6/7 hours. This one (UFS) is also very nice, and as soon as I sprayed it at the shop, I loved it. Yes, there's some kind of boozyness in the opening. And it's nice for me although I don't like boozy notes that much. That is a big plus as far as I am concerned. Unexpected Fresh Spicy is not as sweet as RWA, and it is kind of slightly fruity, which maybe hints some freshness but the spicy vibes shine from the opening. It lasted more than six hours on my skin while developing to a much smokier drydown. Personally, I think it completes the Collection beautifully as it does not smell anyhting like the other two. Verdict: Try for yourself and don't rely on suspicious overly negative frontal attacks. Cheers all

This is the best release in the Tobacco Collection for my taste, and could perfectly be in Zara's top 3 fragrances ever released. Leaning more masculine, when I smelled it I was instantly reminded of Nasomatto's "Baraonda", by Alessandro Gualtieri. Opens with a boozy, whiskey, alcoholic smell that quickly turns into this gourmandish smell that evolves throughout its longevity to a more sophisticated smell, very similar but leaning more towards the cinnamon. Different enough to not call it linear. How much is this...? 12.95 euros? Yeah, a steal. This almost reaches designer's quality and could perfectly be priced four times more expensive. Longevity is fantastic. I sprayed it on my wrist at night, went to bed, and could smell it next morning without a problem. It is really important though that you enjoy boozy notes. If you don't, pass on this one. It is discontinued anyway. Don't go for eBay prices. One of the best features of this fragrance is its original price, and more often than not Zara gives new life to older fragrances by changing packaging but keeping the exact formulation, so that might as well happen with this one, since it was a hit. 8.25/10.

What a great fragrance from Zara! It's not a direct clone as many from the house. I get hints of spicebomb extreme, 1million prive, tf tobacco vanille and pure havane but nothing that is exactly the same or even close. The opening gives me a boozy, bubblegumy feeling which is my least favorite part, but after a few minutes goes very sweet, honey tobacco with cinnamon and some spices. The drydown is for me the best part of this fragrance, the sweetness goes down, the dry tobacco comes out with the sweetness of the honey, the cinnamon and for the first time I get sandalwood. The performance is also really good, 8+ hours longevity and projects really nice for the first two hours. It's weird to talk that much about a fragrance that costs 12,90euros but it's that good. It's not the high quality fragrance but if this was in another designer's bottle it would cost 4 times more. If you have the chance, try it!

Basically agree with K.K90 but not exactly Rasasi Sotoor Waaw, however, very very close. Have them both. If I were to catch any differences, Zara is more buttery, slightly smokier, a little bit darker in perception. Both can be used by men and women although only Rasasi is nominally unisex. Longevity of both is pretty good and regarding sillage, both can be worn in the office. If you like Dior Homme Intense, I recommend to try it. For me this is the same family, although an extended one :-) Overall 8.5/10.
