True Leather For Her

Took this from sales half a price, good way to test leather fragrance. Not a daytime, not in the office. I layer it with other fragrances, tested and works well for instance with Amalfi Sunray from Zara, though as for me it’s too leathery on its own.

This is warm, spicy and quite leathery. It will please lovers of the leather accord for it has a purity about it despite the complimenting notes. It's perfect for this season and, guys, it's a bargain! Yes it is similar to Ombré Leather but it's more so its own thing. You can pretty much layer it with many different notes to achieve different results and to tone down the leatheriness. This Zara line is truly about accessibility into niche which is not necessarily about wearing something that smells expensive but about accesing more elegant and non-mainstream olfactory experiences. It is for those who want to experiment without spending too much!

Thick and with great longevity. Smells somewhat like Tom Ford Anthracite + Ombre Leather + Baccarat Rouge (bare with me ;) The leather is rough, has this coal/tar-like quality, lacks prominent fruitiness (like the raspberry or lime of those it's likened to etc..) and it's not creamy to my nose, but Baccarat Rouge style woody in the base, which eventually is gone leaving only the tar/sweet burnt resin notes, while leather stays there on top all the time. Being extremely synthetic goes without saying for all Zara fragrances - this one is too, but that's not a negative here. I have Tuscan Leather, and Ombre Leather and Montale Aoud Leather - I can't confuse any of these with each other or with Zara's leather, not even from a mile away. They are clearly distinct. I'm suspecting that it might be good for layering, especially over iris heavy fragrances - like Prada Iris for example or some sweeter or lighter fragrances to prolong their wearing into the cold season. Just go easy on the sprayer. It may tire you if you overspray, as it lingers on clothing which makes it difficult to change in another fragrance should you want to wear something different later. Not a daytime fragrance imo - too dark. Storytime: A guy friend, just got this after he went on a business trip. Got stranded due to sudden covid safety measures update and needed to do some shopping fast. Zara was the closest store to him - so he first shopped there and whatever he could find to his best standards. Apparently, in the area coal was used for heating, the fumes of which lingered in the air everywhere (hair and clothes too). He said that this fragrance transformed the burnt coal smell nightmare, into something he could absolutely tolerate. A lifesaver. So I guess if you are in a rural area with the same unique problem - it's a solution ..lol. To better understand the development of the fragrance, it's important to test on two blotters - one sprayed on directly and the other just passing trough a cloud of mist. Start exploring the latter first and in few days check the saturated one. If you judge it only by a full spray, you may not do it justice.

This fragrance is a rich, heady, earthy, spicy, warm, woodsy smoky dream. I would say this perfume leans more towards unisex, which I love! When you first spray it, there's a strong punch of pungent leather and smoke. Warm tobacco and crisp leather jackets. Then there's a spicy slightly sweet note from the saffron, which adds a nice exotic warmth to the scent. You smell it again and there's a woodsy scent with earth and moss underneath, like laying in the forest with a bonfire roaring nearby. The amber also adds a nice sweet depth to everything and balances it out. When you first spray this it has a good amount of sillage, but the longevity is not a lot, I've been wearing it to work and it lasts about 3-4 hours. However, it lasts on clothes for a long time! And the drydown is a nice, almost powdery sweet spicy amber saffron. Makes me think of autumn evenings and dimly lit whiskey bars. And if I'm feeling really imaginative (or stuck at home), I can picture myself as a Byzantine Empress walking through my saffron scented halls with incense trailing behind me. Perfect for fall and if you like oriental scents, but ones that are not as sweet/vanillic or overly girly. More of a unisex Oriental scent. Very lovely!

I'm so confused! I'm from the UK and bought three from this range from Zara direct; Red Vetiver (wonderful!) Rose Gourmand (*VERY* like a Montale/Mancera rose, delicious!) and this one..... but my bottle says "VIBRANT LEATHER FOR HER" instead of "true" leather.... but there's a completely different Zara perfume in a completely different bottle that is on here as beng "Vibrant Leather?" I'm pretty sure this is the right one, as I am definitely getting saffron..... The leather note is a bit artificial at first sniff but I've yet to try this out and will update when I do so, but just thought I'd ask if anyone else has received a bottle with a different name to what this is listed as - any info much appreciated x
