Unusual Gourmand

I don't know if Zara will ever release this again, but I will give my thoughts anyways. Unusual Gourmand smells like apples to me in the best way. Like a fruity apple shampoo mixed with literal apple juice. I wore this on a first date and it has sweet memories associated with it. It doesn't last longer than a few hours but it's so clean and lovely that it will always have a special place in my heart.

My partner's current signature scent -- I've noticed she's very sensitive to pear notes and tends to lean towards pear notes in fragrances. Maybe I don't eat enough pears (or fruits in general) so I didn't catch the pear note at first. I get more of the candied fruits in the opening and the dry down -- it really smells like sugared candies, those translucent coloured synthetic fruit hard candies you can get in bags of 100s. It lasts really long on my partner's skin (good for her, because I have a pretty hard time getting perfumes to last on me) and I can still smell it on her from an arm's length away at the end of the day, and she only sprayed once in the morning. I love it for obvious sentimental reasons but I probably wouldn't wear it myself. The candied fruits are not my cup of tea. I think the musk and salt note adds a particular edge to the perfume so that it's not just fruity sweet candy pear, but it's not salty or animalic in any way. I think when we were smelling perfumes in Zara, I preferred Unusual Fruit to this, while my partner was instantly drawn to Unusual Gourmand. Might not be a safe blind buy, but it's pretty affordable anyway ($30 SGD).

Excellent layering perfume. I layer it with my musky skin scents and it just adds a touch of sweetness. I LOVE it layered with Glossier You. It's a very vivid pear scent at the beginning but it fades into a musky, salty sweet scent and it is just beautiful. 100% comparable to Clean Radiant Nectar, but the pear is much stronger at the beginning. Dry down is almost the exact same.

Sweet and fruity, soft. Intense. Reminded me of something that I've smelled before from Ulta/Sephora. It is probably God is a Woman by Ariana Grande.

Nice airy summer scent.Sweet pears and light touch.Not long lasting but it’s ok.Its back in 2025 in different coloured bottles.

The smell is amazing, but leaves just as quick as you spray it. This for me is a very nice cozy day with the Husband.

I really wanted to like this - all the notes sound right up my alley, but something about the way they mesh together doesn’t sit right on my skin. The salted candied pear scent is undeniable at first, but then it changes almost immediately and I start to get banana laffy taffy vibes?? I would totally be okay with this, but then after a while it turns into a funky, musky, stank on me that i just can’t get over...and it lingers. Passed this one along to my sister and it smells SO much sweeter and cleaner on her! I wouldn’t recommend this as a blind buy because I think body chemistry makes a huge difference here.

I did not enjoy this scent at all, it was most definitely a scrubber. At first spray it was alright, it seemed like a pleasant enough clean & syrupy pear scent and thought it would keep that up, but very quickly smelled like a dark and musty leather boot storage room within minutes. I was honestly super disapointed, especially since others mentioned that syrupy pear scent had me looking forward to it. That along with the candied fruits note had me excited to try this one, especially since I love gourmand and fruity fragrances. The name also got my attention, unfortunately it was unusual in a really awful way for me :(

Clearly identifiable pear in the center. My preferred take would have been fresh or caramellized, but syrup it is. Not dense or too heavy yet not baseless, Unusual Gourmand stays true to its claims by taking the somewhat rare pear note down the gourmand lane with straight up sweetness. Without much development or strong additional notes it is simple, but then it isn't, as the pear note even has this flowery touch some fruits get in their overripeness. 'Sugared pear and salty musk' is what the German Zara site says, and it fits. If salty musk alludes to this ever so slight BR540 vibe, both deepening it and making it even more.. contemporary. Sillage and longevity are perfectly moderate, and despite the plain feeling plastic cap the minimalist presentation looks elegant. I would have liked a straight up natural pear as the syrup drowns it for me, but it is good to see a recognizable and even affordable pear perfume for gourmand lovers.

This is how all those gorgeous and fresh young girls smell like when they pass you by. Uncomplicated fresh and juicy, not much else to it. And I feel envious that theyre still on that point of their life. And me with my 40 something body with its pains is missing that time when I was that age. The truth is that snobby me have never smelled anything like this from the designer brands and thats why I never knew what theyd be wearing. But it makes sense when youre young and broke you buy your fragrances cheaply becuase you way rather save your coin to do fun things because you got social life and time and your life is ahead of you. I love it. This is youth in a bottle.

I just bought it and it smells almost identical to God is a Woman by Ariana Grande but only a little sweeter, not as fresh. I layered it with Kayali’s Vanilla 28 and it endes up smelling like a lighter version of Vanilla Woods by The 7 virtues. 10/10 I love it, best Zara perfume I own and that includes me having both Frosted Cream and Gardenia which I raaave about a lot!! Worth the hype

you were so beautiful to me please come back (missed the 2025 release fml). pear musk combo stays goated forever, the salt is a nice addition. i remember scouring through zaras trying to get a hold of this gem, rightfully so. the little bit i have remaining has aged horridly tho, would not recco an ebay purchase

There is a beautiful crushed candy fruit that opens right when you first spray. I get a light crisp floral component, a light baby powder scent right along with a even lighter hint of citrus and salt. I love this scent, I just wish it lasted longer.

Very peary, similar to AG GIW but without the baccarat drydown
