Vetiver

This is very similar to Adolfo Domínguez's vetiver (which I like very much), though I find it somehow mellower, less herbaceous, perhaps due to the grapefruit. It is an EDC with good sillage initially but then it stays close to the skin, with amazing staying power (again, considering it is an EDC). All in all, an extremely well blended minimalist but elegant, wearable and enjoyable fragrance. Great stuff! In addition, the packaging reflects and complements very adequately the contents: simple, functional, unobstrusive and well executed. Adding further to its charm, it is (or was) very fairly priced, verging on the inexpensiveness. What's not to like here? Unfortunately, it seems that Zara has a policy of entirely replacing its fragrance lineup every one or two years and, therefore, Vetiver and its brothers in the men's line (Sándalo and Ambar) have been discontinued, which is sad. The new offerings by Zara (the usual woody/sweety/awfully boring and in your face concoctions) are conceptually and quality-wise light years away from this and, IMHO, not even worth a try.

This is my very first post to this site! I'm so glad that I took a risk and blind buy zara vetiver based on these reviews. I adore the scent profusely! One of the notes that I liked is vetiver. I really wanted Mugler cologne initially as I had a chance to whiff a smell in a luxury perfume store that sadly, closed down in our area. Now, I can't find any Mugler cologne. The closest thing available would be Creed OV however, it's so expensive for my budget. I'm happy to say that this cologne, resembles Mugler on the drydown. It was love at first spray and good thing the sillage is great, around 5 to 6 hours on my skin. Love, love love it!

Damn... This masterpeace works very well ok my skin! I sprayed this one 5 times in the morning. All i have to say is that this one last 12+ hours easily, sillage is enormous... The smelling is so elegant and powerfull. This is my signature scent now, 100% recommended. Bottle - 8 Longevity - 10 Sillage - 9 Smelling - 9

I was excited to try another vetiver by a less familiar designer, but I was disappointed with the weakness. I also had suprising difficulty in keeping up with the many early and drastic changes in the scent. It starts out a bit limey and bright, perhaps like the post-2000 Guerlain, or a very muted Creed OV. A minute or two in, even before the alcohol is gone, there's a very rapid transition to something with more wood and florals, closer to Mugler Cologne. Then, as the strongest of the soapy notes recede after a few more minutes, a flowery grassiness like 4711 becomes evident, with just a dash of dusty, twiggy wood. The kaleidoscopic changes that this scent undergoes are fun if you have the chance to follow along with them, but because of the weakness (even for an EdC) I'm not sure when I'd really use it. I suspect I'll put the vial in my mini toiletries kit, take it on travel, and douse myself somewhere, someday.

I bought this 2 years ago in a Zara shop. It got me hooked all the way. This vetiver is very simple has not too many notes but the notes used are in line. Great sillage also and longevity was for an EdC very good! More sprays needed but ok.. Too bad i sprayed all 200 ml away as it used it a signature scent. Its masculine and elegant, calm and woody.
