(Vetiverich)

Vetiverich is the second perfume I added to the collection from this series. Not for a matter of taste, but mostly because (Wood Legacy) seemed like something new to me that I had never heard before, and therefore I gave it a purchasing priority. Yet, without hesitation, Vetiverich won me over at the first sniff. When I wrote the Wood Legacy review, I thought the bottle was similar to the one used for the Metallics series. But I was wrong, since a similar bottle was already used before for the Le Parfum series. Once the cap is removed, which has a different shape between the two series, the bottles are identical. Regarding the perfume, as I had already observed during the first test, the formula seems inspired by Encre Noire EAU DE TOILETTE, in which vetiver releases the darker aromas of roots, earth, and ink. A mineral and woody vetiver, which takes on various nuances during its evolution, but still with a strong accent of wet earth. Vetiverich at the opening releases a green citrus accord composed of oils of lemon peels, bitter oranges, and bergamots, with an alcoholic background. Beyond this mixture of citrus fruits lies a cold accord, something that recalls ozone and metal. It’s almost like smelling the fresh air that heralds the arrival of a summer storm. The pear note does not reach my nose clearly, but it is not the first time that my sense of smell struggles to recognize this synthetic fruity note, while the tougher edges of the saffron flower dirties the opening notes exaggeratedly. However, as soon as the alcoholic presence disappears, the tart citrus fruits and spicy saffron create a good accord. Don’t be afraid, it is not the dark and dense saffron typical of Middle Eastern essences. Meanwhile, from the base notes rises an overdose of woody nuances, those of Iso E Super. Fresh and slightly bitter opening, no trace of sweet notes. After about ten minutes, the fragrance warms up, emitting a green and floral accord. it’s bizarre how the same perfume releases two different accords, depending on the distance from which it is smelled. If from afar you can feel the presence of purple flowers such as lavender and lilac, together with the delicate ones of the rose, from a very close distance the greenish notes of the foliage, violet, jasmine, sage and geranium prevail. All green and fleshy leaves that contribute to the formation of the green, slightly powdery, ozonic and metallic accord. The essence may release a disturbing scent similar to rotten jasmine flowers, when the white jasmine buds, after a few days, gradually take on a yellowish colour. Perhaps the jasmine leaves smell that way. But I repeat, they can only be felt by placing the nose on the point of application, for a very short period, and never from the right distance. The heart maintains a watery, green, floral profile tending towards balsamic. The perfume persists with the heart accords for a few hours, before changing towards the base notes. So the nuances of vetiver appear, recalling the smell of fresh paint and turpentine. Indeed, precisely those of patent leather, which is widely used in luxury fashion, especially for accessories, shoes and bags. A musky, moist, camphoraceous, and even slightly smoky and resinous veil remains on the skin for hours, with touches that resemble pine needles. It certainly requires wearing a few times before fully understanding its character. But I would say that the perfume passes through three strategic points: the initial citrus green one, then moving on to the floral green one, and finally the more woody and earthy one, with a perfect touch of amber. Throughout the journey, vetiver and cedar wood dominate. A note for all coumarin detractors: there are no coumarins in this perfume, which means neither vanilla nor tonka in the formula to dulcify it. If you’re not a fan of sweet scents, this might be worth considering. In conclusion, I can confirm that when tested side by side, Vetiverich and Encre Noire have several points in common, and strike very similar notes and chords. Perhaps Vetiverich is less smoky than Encre Noire, despite riding the path of ink. The elusive ink note adds a unique facet to fragrance compositions. Its sooty, camphorous scent lends a beguiling hook to top notes. I wore it yesterday, a Sunday in June that was still a little warm, and I must admit that its performance satisfied me. Not at all annoying. I felt its facets very well for the first three hours, and then it slowly settled on the skin. It belongs to those molecular perfumes that you quickly get used to, but every now and then the scent reappears clearly. It certainly dresses well in the intermediate and summer seasons, fresh, pleasant, both during the day and in the evening, when the scorching sun sets, under light linen, hemp and cotton fabrics, white shirts, and so on. My intuition was right, and this perfume did not disappoint my expectations. I'm basing my feelings on a bottle I've owned since June 2024 (BC 41020).

Am I the only one that gets a Rose note in the beginning that's almost similar to Ajmal - Ambre Pimente? It even has the same ozonic quality with almost mineral facets...it must be how the violet leaf is used. As the fragrance reaches the mid it goes away and gives room for a lovely woody/Ambroxan/Vetiver drydown...not unlike CDG - Zero. Now, I know that Ambroxan is not listed as an ingredient, but it definitely comes off as something like that...it also gives the same noseblindness effect as Ambroxan...you think it's gone, but i promise you that other people will stillsmell you. A great niche-like offering from Zara that punches way above it's pricepoint. Unisex leaning masculine.

Unlike its sibling shamanilla (which is a very bad purchase for me), this one is such a good fragrance with a great bargain. Vetiver always reminds me of a wise and mature men. In the case of Encre Noir, people call this feeling as “forest sadness” or “pessimistic smell”. But I call it as a calm wisdom. This has some floral and fruity things into it, which brings a kind of joy to it. Unfortunately, it becomes a skin scent in only an hour. Sillage is better than its performance though. When I step into a room, everyone notices it. Sillage: 8/10 Performance: 4/10 Scent: 8/10 Pricing: 9/10 Total: 7,25/10

literally 1 of my top 5 fav fragrances EVER! keep in mind i dislike aquatic/ozonic fragrances the most and for some reason i am absolutely obsessed with this. was so sad that it was discontinued so i went to the scent bar to smell what it was supposedly duping (zero by CDG) n lemme just say vetiverich is SOOOO MUCH BETTER. it’s that perfect natural/synthetic medley of a skin scent that’s slightly aromatic, green, and woody all while smelling like paper. idk im just so obsessed and NEED IT TO COME BACK.

VetiverRich is my most favorite from this collection then wood legacy and Metamber. It smells so fresh and light. It reminds me of those fragrances with clean musk and Ambroxan dna like Juliette has a gun, Another 13, Molecule 01 and Diptyque eau papier. Perfect for the gym or everyday use when you don't want anything heavy. I think this is unisex though it's targeting men. I'm wearing this and really enjoy it myself.

I think almost no-one knows CDG Zero. Vetiverich is not similar to H24, for sure it isn't ADG, not even close. It is easier to wear dupe of Zero. Opening is almost exactly the same and the dry-down is meach softer and smoother on Vetiverich. IMHO Vetiverich is much better than varnishy original. Tested at the same time on both arms.

Have this tested, really nice for that kind of price - although I would like better performance. Really similar to molecule 05 , which I own and compared it side by side . Vetiverich is more ozonic with a sweet undertone of pear note while molecule more earthy and less pleasant. To me it feels like it's one of those Zara gems

it has a saffron-y late-opening/early-middle dry down note which i like very much, it’s very similar to zara lush vetiver but sweeter and less like mosquito repellent product. performance wise is by no means the best, it in fact has mid to low performances; scent wise is very good and easy to pull off.

Plesent well worth a pick up its like PDM Perseus went straight to it's dry down with no citrus, would be great for layering with it or Hermes givree or anything in that style.

This to me smells very similar to Byredo Supercedar at a fraction of the price and with similar performance. Not similar quality though.

This new collection resides very much alongside the likes of Comme des Garcons Odeur 53 or Juliette Has a Gun's Not a Perfume in its defiance and its 'anti-perfume' approach. Vetiverich is a standout in this genderless lineup which leans slightly masculine. Diaphanous and ethereal, a woody/green distinction dances over a clean musk (in the same universe Narciso's Vetiver Musk). If one can overcome the modest sillage and projection, Vetiverich is a lovely personal indulgence for any season, and any time of day.

Okay, after more wearings I can say I understand what this smells like to me. It smells like wet paper. Sounds weird but that's it, it's somewhat in a similar style of stuff like He Wood, but just a bit. It's definitely interesting, it grew on me after wearing it 3-4 times, not bad at all. Performance is mid, 4 hours at best but it's alright for the price.

UPDATE: I wore it today at home, my mother said (after 6 hours, I thought the fragrance was gone): "What's this smell? It's so good, even tho a bit...industrial/factory like". She was close to me, but could smell it, so props to Vetiverich I guess.

Maybe my nose is broken but this smells to me like the mid of H24, it’s very vegetal and has a certain “clothing ironing” smell to it, I can’t say if I like it so far or not.

Basing my review upon first wearing, vetiver isn’t really a note that I gravitate to, but I had heard a lot of great things about this fragrance from reviewers, I was specifically looking for things for summer, and I was a couple of euros away from free shipping. In fact, the Perfume Guy on YouTube named this the 4th best Zara fragrance. I had high hopes. So compared to paying 4 euros for shipping, I might as well pay 6 euros for 20 ml of this and get free shipping. Right away when I spray it, I realize that there’s something about it that I recognize... it only comes to me later when I top up my fragrance. Something about this smell reminds me of Zara’s “Know the Leather”. At first, I wondered if it was the violet leaf that would be reminiscent of the flower notes in “Know the Leather”, but then when I was thinking about it more, I figured that it might also be because of the saffron which can kind of lean leathery to me. Specifically because the “Know the Leather” leather is also more rubbery to me, compared to a more expensive leather fragrance like “Ombre Leather”. Maybe a combination of both of these. Compared to all of Vibe Variation collection fragrances that I’ve tried, this one is definitely the most masculine. It’s definitely simplistic and it’s nice, like I know it does the trick, but I’m not blown away by it. Maybe vetiver just isn’t really for me? Or maybe it was hyped a bit too much for me, and I just really, really was amazed by the Leather Fever.

Forget the notes above, this goes straight to vetiver and some citrus in the background. It is very similar to John Varvatos XX artisan. This white Zara collection keeps being disappointing to me.

If you want to smell like a toilet cleaning product then go ahead (at least my toilet bowl freshener smells exactly like this).

It smells like you dipped yourself in natural oil. It is not good at all!!!! Why cheap perfumes are so bad and long lasting. I do not recommend this at all. I bought it because of the Perfume guy on YouTube and now I regret it.

It indeed smells like bathroom or even toilet cleaner for the first hour. So, not recommended
