Vibrant Leather & Sandalwood Elixir

Alright, this is basically a better version of the already existing Vibrant Leather Oud. It is priced higher than the EDP version although it is still on the cheap side for what you get. The top note I find really different and it lasts for quite long. During dry down it becomes more and more similar to Vibrant Leather Oud, but there is something which I can’t quite grasp yet. It is more fresh, less synthetic and less ‘old man bathed in cologne before attending a Wagner opera’. This iteration is more minimalist which, I think, is the way to go. Feels editorial, every note is intentional and surprising given this is a highly safe and conventional platform to build on. It truly reminds me of those architectural concepts where you build a modern, minimalist annex to a historic building. This edition brings all those elements which I missed in the original run and takes away the more conventional ones. If you like Vibrant Leather and wished for better performance and a couple of changes, this is it.

Bought for $60. Smelled like $300. I had my eye on the Aesop Hwyl, and this is almost an exact duplicate of it. This definitely has the cardamom and maybe cumin smell to it, but it’s pure sandalwood. I don’t smell anything but sandalwood. It’s exactly what I was looking for. Great deal. It also projects pretty good, I can smell it after I shower.

I bought it from one month ago and I like it but when I went to buy another one I did not found it. Even in website of Zara it is not available. I think it is discontinued. That is very bad because for the price it is great value.

Creamy buttery sandalwood,woody elegant..i love it;shame on zara discontinued..i have some memories with that fragrance,good quality,for me its one of the best zara release and one of the best frags i ve ever smell.

This fragrance is a unique and strange mixture of Aventus & Santal 33. Somehow I think it shouldn’t work so well together but it does. To my nose this scent leans more towards Santal.

Buy it and the other elixirs for the price of the 3 you would get one elixir from other designers.worth every penny., and most of the comparisons up top are BS ,so no surprise there.

Is there any way to contact zara to tell them bring it back?why they discontinued it,its my best zara in my entire collection

This is good. Candyandy's comments seem the most accurate to me, though I would say it's like 15%/85% Vibrant Leather to Santal 33. Only thing is the missing fresh note in Santal 33 that always reminds me of cucumbers/melons. With that missing, the fragrance isn't as dynamic and feels a bit drier. Still, it lasts significantly longer than most Zara faire, and the dry sandalwood note it does very well. I actually layered this with a spray of REPLICA Under the Lemon Tree and thought that gave this a little more sparkle.

#84 review In my opinion the best Zara Elixir. Tried in a store all of them owned two but this was the nicest. Better performance but nothing nuclear i would say that is the level of parameters that Zara should have in the most popular fragrances to get on the Top.

Opens dry and spicy with a dominant Cardamom and spritzy sandalwood, BUT dries down to a smell of dill pickels and freshly toasted bread. Good opening but then becomes unwearable.

Tried all 3 from the new Vibrant leather Elixir line. This one is like a 30/70 % mix between the Vibrant Leather DNA and a Zara take on Le Labo Santal 33. In the opening you detect the classic freshness of VL with that citrus and fizzy uplifting smell. That is acompanied by light woods, here a semi-dry and a bit creamy sandalwood. The sandalwood here smells nice to me, not too dry or furniture like (as has been the case in some Zara Santal 33 clones for me). As the fragrance develops the parts more similar to the original Vibrant Leather subside while the sandalwood keeps going. At this point the fragrance could be unisex I think (in the opening it leans masculine). It is not similar to TF Ebené Fumé, that one has more honey-like sticky sweetness and a different kind of wood. Overall it's a good take on Santal 33, I'd say the best one from Zara so far (I have their first, Scent #1, which is for sure worse than this).

Opens like a version of the vibrant leather oud more Smokey, and then the dry down it’s like Cedrat Boise intense. Nothing more nothing less, it last all day though, different than the vibrant leather oud.

This remembers me of Boss Bottled Parfum, got that spicy floral vibe that i dont like it, doesnt mean that is not good. Also solid projection and longevity.

You know designer fragrances have gone way south when Zara releases an elixir!!! What a boring joke this industry has become! LOL!

if only they hadn’t kept the annoying aventus note in it.. it would have made a beautiful clean comforting Hwyl dupe.
