Violet Blossom

A Lebanese Delights Yeah, ZARA Violet Blossom seems inspired by Lebanese delights. Tonight the weather is terrible, and it’s raining outside. It is the first Sunday of autumn, and several months after the purchase, I have thought about wearing it. And it made me feel thrilled inside. I don’t know if it’s because it’s colder, but damn, it makes me feel very comfy and warm. I think the rainy weather brought out the warm notes of this perfume. The composition of the Violet Blossom perfume is floriental gourmand. When I say oriental floral, I refer to the intense scent of candied sugar combined with the smell of coffee coming from a roaster. It is a fragrance with hints of citrus, fruity, and nutty facets that linger in the air without overpowering. It is a gentle, feminine fragrance, which is at once timid and sophisticated but far from retiring and has some beautifully bright notes. It welcomes me with a blast of bitter and nutty accord; I get the milky vibe of the addictive peeled and roasted almonds. Initially, the citrus note of the tangerine prevents this scent from being too heavy, but when it dries, you get this delicious aroma that settles on your skin, and you feel it. There is also a fruity accord, and I would bet the top features a sweet, sparkling, and succulent pear. In the heart, the essence of bitter almonds gets stronger, balanced by a mellow cherry blossom. These notes assembled reveal precious and greedy facets. That delicious aroma encounters a lemony magnolia, and the outcome turns out creamy, smooth, velvety. The cherry blossom note is the main one, but it soon gets replaced by powdery, powdery almonds. The taste of the tonka bean strongly links to its perfume. Indeed, bouquets, I should say since the tonka bean has many at the same time. I notice the aromas of vanilla, cherry, almond, and something spicy, a bit like cinnamon. When served cold, the flavor is like vanilla caramel with dark honey. When hot, it shifts to spiced vanilla. The tonka bean here is the queen of the dry down. The nutty nuance still lingers around and leaves a final bitter trail while a tad of patchouli reinforces the ultimate signature. There is a soft redolence of creamy woods, the same buttery accord characteristic of the cashmeran molecule, which rounds off the scent. This fragrance is highly opulent and highly sensual. I’ve been inside for three hours, and here and there, I take clouds of my perfume. Perhaps, because of the subtlety of its tones, Violet Blossom doesn’t last long. A single application will last about 4 hours at full strength, after which it fades, but traces of the perfume remain for around 8 hours, making it a perfect fragrance for your leisure evening and night. It’s charming, and in this one, Zara’s fleeting longevity comes in handy because it would be choking if this stayed on like regular gourmands. Sillage and projection are good but not too loud or obnoxious. If you’re a fan of sweet-smelling scents that have a natural musky base—then this fragrance is for you. I’m sure you’ll love it as much as I do, as it is so beautiful and so lovely! For me, Violet Blossom is a classic fragrance. At first, it smells fruity before the flowery components of the heart notes come into the foreground. To say I love this fragrance is an understatement! The chords are perfect, it’s not overly sweet, and the almond note reminds me of Ameretto. My partner loves this smell on me. I got so many compliments wearing it. Addicting masterpiece. This is an expensive-smelling, seductive, designer-quality fragrance. To my nose 'Violet Blossom' is reminiscent of Mugler's 'Alien' and Armani 'Code Cashmere', which I've seen compared to adequately by reviewers across the internet (YouTube, here, etc..). While Dior's 'Hypnotic Poison' and most of its inspired scents are more serious, deep, mature 'Violet Blossom' is more playful (probably due to the cherry blossom & ripe cherries) & closer to the other 2 scents. The opening is a boozy, sweet cherry blossom similar to a blend of ripe cherries & grapes, there is a fruity tartness in the beginning too. Utterly feminine and flirty! The tonka is slightly powdery, nutty and immensely vanillery, just a sublime dry-down as it blends with the cherry blossom & fruits. I don't get much, if any magnolia on my skin. The silage is great: I sprayed all over my clothes, hair and skin...and it spread throughout multiple floors of the entire apartment...all the way outside! Longevity is alright: maximum 6 hours on my skin before dissipating into nothingness. Zara has been impressing me lately thanks to reviews from Fragrantica, I'm sad I didn't try the brand sooner. Verdict: A delicious, well-blended cold-weather perfume. If you love 'Code Cashmere' & 'Alien' definitely try this out!

This is not how I imagine violet accord in perfumery at all (to be fair, I think I have only smelled perfumes containing violet leaf which is more sharp and masculine) but I get it why it was named like that. It's truly a "purple" scent, somewhat syrupy and for me there is also an almondy Hypnotic Poison vibe too. The cherry blossom is also quite nice in this. I think it is an inoffensive scent that is well put together, deep and mystical but it does not complicate things over and I love how artificial is this. I usually look for scents that give me a calm and confident aura, nothing too bold and I like it when only people close to me can sense my perfume on me. Today I woke up with a grumpy mood, sprayed four before leaving for work (2 on my neck, 2 on my wrists) as I usually do with "lighter" perfumes and I was really surprised on how potent is this. Gradually my mood and confidence was getting a boost from this, I am still not sure how and why, and my colleague complimented this after 10 hours I applied it! For the price it is really a bargain, only negative comment I have is that the 2022 version has a transparent boring bottle instead of the black-purple gradient one (for the 30ml version at least)

This is *lovely*, a berry-cherry fruity blast of sweet cheerfulness - and for once! the name of a Zara frag sort of makes sense as this actually *smells* purple! Cherry and grape candy but not overly artificial, very uplifting and likable (wow - if the notes are correct and this is cherry BLOSSOM then even *that* part of the name makes sense! :D ) I've had this on for about 4 hours now and it's not really developed into anything more complex in the drydown but stayed the same sweet purple-candy vanilla yumminess but on the other hand - the upside of that is, that's decent lastability for a Zara cheapie. I recommend: this one really makes does make me smile :) nb, I have no idea if this is a dupe for Good Girl as I have never smelled the CH perfume, but Violet Blossom is definitely *not* like Girl of Now - while they're both gourmands, Girl of Now on me is ambery, nutty and rich, whereas this is not any of those things, just bold, fruity and syrupy sweet. If you like GoN you might like this as a day scent, but it's definitely not a dupe - all it's got in common is that they are both sweet and uplifting gourmands!

I saw Violet Blossom on Zara website and tested 30 ml first. Just bought 200 ml size today because I enjoy this scent. Their fragrances change often and I refuse to lose out again! (Favorite scent Cardamom only bought 1 bottle then couldn’t find it again!) This is a sweet violet scent with hint of powder but not too much. Ideal scent for spring which is why I bought the bigger bottle. This perfume I layer with other scents. It is a skin scent on me with only a scent bubble the first hour. It lasts about 4 hours on my skin. If you like violet perfumes like me then you should like this one. At first spray it is sweet but on my skin the sweetness fades to let violets shine with hint of powder. No plastic doll scent or syrupy scent like other sweet scents that I disliked. This is worth testing or blind buying a 10 ml sample off Zara website.

I went to Zara for a completely different perfume actually, but ended up picking this perfume after my friend smelled it and said "this is so you". I grabbed it quickly, and we left. I did like the initial spray, it does smell like cherry blossom but in a sophisticated way. On me it becomes sweet very fast, I somehow get such a tasty tonka bean and vanilla that I can't even describe. I went out recently and it was cold and snowy outside and it is such a perfect perfume for that kind of weather. It is gourmand, very beautiful, stays on for hours and equally as good for the day or a night out. I will be coming back and getting a bigger bottle next time for sure. The only minus is that I don't see myself wearing it in warmer weather as I think it would be too heavy and that's a shame.

I'm going to be honest. At first, I didn't like this scent. It's not a shy floral - it's definitely bold and charismatic but the more I wear it, the more I appreciate its complexity. At first it's syrupy sweet and all enveloping, then it starts to dry down and it is unashamedly floral. When it has really mellowed out, it has a soft lingering vanilla. I now love it - but it was a journey. It's definitely not something I would test once and immediately want to buy. It's one of those scents that grows on you over time. It's something to wear out to dinner in colder weather, as I think it would be a bit too sweet for a hot day. Later edit: I smelled Girl of Now by Elie Saab and it is EXACTLY the same as this.

Grape soda is what I smell initially. It's very fizzy in the beginning, but then it fades into a beautiful, soft, fruity cherry blossom. It smells flirtatious to me. Whenever I smell this I just picture Scarlett O'Hara lol. I feel like this perfume can turn heads. I only have the rollerball so the longevity is probably different than the regular full sized bottle. That being said - it's ok. I can get whiffs of it up until about 4 hours after I apply it. Sillage is bleh. I bet it'd be a whole lot better with the full sized bottle. But man the dry down is incredible. Definitely going to get the big bottle soon.

My absolute fave from this line. It is dark and mysterious, sweet, and complex--definitely does not give "body spray" vibes. I don't care about daytime or nighttime labels, so I wear her all day. I get the cherry, but mostly the almond note and some vanilla. But that almond note is everything!! I love it so much in fact, that I want the "real perfume, " that this is supposed to be a dupe of. Is it Poison Girl? Thing is, even though I love this and have already bought a backup bottle, it lasts all of 5 minutes. I bring my bottle with me and reapply often, but someone, please lmk if there is a better way!

I have Violet Blossom in the bottle that is shown here. It's starts out a bit like grape candy then drys down to a sexy deep floral with a bit of vanilla. It's beautiful. I have nothing else like it except Bath & Body Works Dark Kiss is similar but still not quite like it. I bought it on the suggestion of others saying it was kind of a Girl of Now type of scent. I cannot find Girl of Now anywhere and did not want to blind buy it. Two weeks ago I was at an airport and they had Girl of Now Shine. I sprayed it on my arm and said wow...this is Zara Violet Blossom! I guess I don't need Girl of Now.

This is a gorgeous, deep and mysterious scent. I blind bought 1oz for $15 online and was hoping I’d at least like it, but I certainly wasn’t expecting to love it. It has notes I like and notes I love. I’m a huge sucker for scents with Tonka notes, so I took a chance with Violet Blossom and I’m soooo into this fragrance! It’s floral, it’s creamy, it’s deep. I absolutely love this and will be buying more. Even one spray has fantastic projection and longevity! This is also my first Zara perfume and it’s got me reeeeaaal curious about trying more!

I'd prefer if it actually smelt like violets as Violet is the name of someone I love very much. However it's still ridiculously good for the price. It first sprayed it on at Zara, not expecting much, and it kept smelling delicious throughout the day. I get the grape juice scent, but I also get so much more. Especially when I first spray it on, the room is filled with a sumptuous flower bouquet. Idk if anyone else is getting that. I'm really enjoying this for daily but also for evening use.

if you are expecting an alien dupe, this smells completely different. i got a 10ml of alien after owning this for months im somewhat surprised that that theyre related at all. the sillage is maybe reminiscent but this is way more cherry almond than the amber white floral bomb of alien. and i love both! but just wouldnt say that this is a dupe by any means. wish it had longer longevity but for the price this is a really gorgeous almondy fruity floral

Violet Blossom is my absolute favourite Zara perfume! It is very beautiful and sexy. It doesn’t remind me of Girl of Now because that fragrance has a marzipan and heavy orange blossom notes. The only similarity is the Tonka bean. It opens with this beautiful Cherry Blossom and immediately Tonka bean! I know the notes don’t say vanilla but there is lots of Vanilla in this, It’s so unique and gorgeous. It’s perfect, I need a big back up bottle ❤️

I just picked this one up on a whim today and it immediately reminded me of L'Interdit Rouge, which is one of my favorites. But, as a broke college student, I obviously cannot afford a luxury perfume like that. I seriously love this perfume and am surprised that no one else (to my knowledge) has noticed the similarity between the two fragrances. I just wish it lasted longer on my skin! It almost has a slight citrus note or maybe plum, as well?

This is my second review on this one and it’s been a year since I bought this. For me this is the best Zara original fragrance. It smells more of a perfume than all Zara fragrances. If you smell it and spray it on your skin you’ll know what I mean. I just get this dreamy night vibes and a woman enjoying her own company type of scenario in my head. I hope this sums it up. It’s smooth, cashmere like and hypnotising.

This big violet beauty is for tonka-lovers!!! I bought it unsniffed earlier this summer, and it got lost in all my new perfumes, but, now it has been found, and wow, what an impact it has done, first of all, the bottle is absolutely stunning, and the juice first came across my mind was CH Good Girl, because of all that intense tonka. I really cant tell you anything more but the tonka, and of cause I love it =))

I have waited almost two months until it’s available here in Australia. I was craving for it so much after reading the reviews. It smells really good. As other reviews said it smells like dark fruits , warm and powdery. Really pretty. Lasts on my skin 5-6hrs and lasts for ages on clothes. 10/10 Edited: 15/3/2020 I just tested Elie Saab Girl of Now today. Violet blossom smells very close to it.

Finally, I found the perfume that captured the memory that I always want to reminisce! Its scent brought me back to Japan on a spring night, while my husband and I stroll along the fully-bloomed cherry blossom trees around Nijo castle in Kyoto. It has a lovely cherry blossom, mochi-like, creamy floral scent. It becomes powdery on the dry down on my skin. Worth the buy and I love it!

Dark, sweet vanilla with white flowers. Definitely a more mature perfume even with the sweetness, creamy and rich. I love the scent, and longevity is good for the price. Unsafe to use on daytime since I live in a tropical climate, but great for nights out. I’ve been thinking of getting Alien, and if it’s anything like this I’d probably love it too.

Violet Blossom is inappropriately named but appropriately coloured. It's very rich, grapey and sweet; though there are no violets nor are there any blossoms. I can't decide whether Violet Blossom is Tegan Quin in an oversized tiger print tshirt and skinny jeans or if it's Alexis Rose wearing an elaborate winter coat.

I just smelled this today.. I think it's a dupe for Ghost Deep Night. It smells very similar even though I haven't smelled it in a while .. I had a bottle when it first came out, which was quite a while ago! I really like it..! Smells slightly bubble gummy to me, not sure why.. Nice.

MASTERPIECE that lasts too short so you gotta reapply it during the day. Sadly I got a 200ml bottle that's quite heavy so i never bring it with me. My partner loves this smell on me, I got so many compliments wearing it. ♥

Am I the only one who gets JP Classique Essence vibes with less whipped cream? Also I smelled the 2021 version so if anyone can tell me I smelled the same one as in here or 2021 version is different than this version?

Violet blossom just arrived today. WOW, for the price I love it. Smells like a grape soda. Hints of cherry, but I mostly smell grape soda. This will be a great gift

Number 2 favorite from Zara ! This was my go to this winter. Smells like an amaretto liqueur to me. it's all cherry and tonka bean to my nose !

This perfume is really beautiful, it is sweet but also has depth; I love it! Violet Blossom has fast become one of my favourites.

Exact dupe for Poison Girl (Dior), dare I say, Violet Blossom is more potent and longer lasting!

I like it , but no enough to get a big bottle . It’s a perfect scent for winter

I am quite new to perfumes and my collection is somewhat inexpensive and small, thus, I have had less exposure to different scents. At first, this frag kind of offended my nose: musky, sickly sweet, and old smelling. However, it grew on me! I agree with others on its sweet grape opening. It quickly settles into a soft, fruity cherry blossom with that grape note more quiet. Its soft, flirty, and delicious and somewhat comforting as well. For me, I can smell the resemblance to Hypnotic Poison, but that one is too sweet and powdery, while this one is more floral and grape, which I like. The projection is quite weak, so I tend to spray lots, but lasts on clothes. I personally would wear this in colder weather, day and night, and early spring when things are still a little cold.

This is quite a nice, especially affordable perfume. Floral, yet gourmand with the dominant tonka bean note, it was probably inspired by a few classic modern perfumes in the lines of Hypnotic Poison,Alien,etc. It reminds me of their cream and milk-like qualities whilst being totally original in itself. The combination of the cherry blossom and magnolia is harmonious and pleasant; almost smelling natural. It' s not quite a skin scent as it projects enough to be noticed and creates a soft aura around you. It even lingers in the air for a few hours after spraying. Overall, it' s just a great everyday perfume. Edit: Having tried Girl of Now by E.S., I can say that VB is pretty similiar to it but less elegant and with a stronger tonka bean note.

Tried this in the shop; sweet, grapey floral, lasted 4 days on the tester (haven't tried it on skin yet). Bought a bottle that was in a box marked violet blossom, behind the tester (which has the notes listed above) only to realise at home the box contained a different perfume, with the same name but different notes (apple, magnolia, lily, almond, vanilla). There's no tester available for this (apparently new) version and I can't find the original in stores or online (it says "coming soon"), so I'm starting to worry it's been discontinued. Anyone know if that's true? Edit: opened the new bottle, it's 99% identical to the tester/original and cashier says it's just been repackaged. So I guess the notes on the site are wrong.

This is quite a delightful scent and for its price it is definitely worth buying it. I smell mostly cherry blossoms and tonka, it is a bit synthetic, but not too much and, remember, 30 ml retail for around 7 Euro... I have smelled much much more expensive fragrances which smelled as synthetic as this, if not more... It doesn't remind me of Girl of Now or Alien, which seem to be the most voted here. Honestly, I believe it is something on its own, inspired by various fragrances maybe, but not a copy of any in particular. If you are on a budget or simply don't want to spend money on perfumes, this is an excellent choice. Good almost all year round and at any age and gender, although I think it is a bit more feminine leaning.

A great dark and sweet fragrance which is not too heavy or cloying, it is more "dark powder" than anything. Think Salem witches at midnight making "bewitching perfume" or "charm dust" that kind of vibe. Quite magical. But at the same time quite an easy and light fragrance as there are no spicy, sharp or heavy notes, it is subtle. It is violet in a sense that it smells like the color violet - like midnight, like the velvet fabric - not like the flower. I'd say this is more of a "good-night" and "sweet-dreams" comforting scent of a good witch than an alluring "date-night" scent of an "I will eat you whole" witch.

Usually with new perfumes, I am annoyed at first and I would let the perfume sit for couple of days and ended up liking them. With this one, it's the other way around. I don't know when to use this. When I first try this at Zara, Alien popped at the top of my head. So I bought the 30ml bottle thinking I can alternate this with my Alien. Now that I have this for around 2 months, it's likeable but annoying at times. To me, the similarities with Alien ended in the first 5 minutes. So yeah, will let this be for the time being and continue to use my Alien.

I tested this last weekend at a Zara store. Violet Blossom is a very pleasant sweet perfume, nearly verging on too sweet for me. I picked up a grape note like others have mentioned, and found the fragrance vaguely fruity throughout. Though I found it almost toothachingly sweet in the beginning, that sweetness mellowed down a bit later on. The fragrance made me sniff my arm repeatedly, but it didn't really have that distinct quality that would make me go back to buy it. However, I may consider getting it if I could find it at a deep enough discount.

I blind bought it and after trying it on my clothes, I returned it. It's too much medicinal for me, particularly the cherry smell is nauseating. The only thing I could smell was the cherry. Not a good experience. But the longevity is awesome. I had the smell on my clothes for more than 3 days. Edit: I repurchased the 30ml bottle after seeing all the raves. I sprayed it once and gave it time to settle in, then tried again. Now I get a sweet, powdery, cozy cherry mixed with vanilla. Now I don't mind the perfume and I understand the raving about it.

It is very fresh, girly, daytime and "watery" perfume. I've tested Elie Saab, and although I can understand why people finding it to be similar, but they are absolutely different in performance and dominant notes playing "dramaturgy". ES Girl is very creamy and heavy vanilla in a bad way. And this is light and watery, but still with vanilla base. It is crowd friendly :) no headache (tho I'm very sensitive) It reminds me Rituals Sacura after 4 HOURS of wearing. It stays 6-8hours on skin and much longer on clothes.

Very pleasant fragrance. Dark, like ripe fruit (plum, blackberry and black cherry on my nose). The cherry blossom here is not airy but deeper and almost liqueur (vague hint of cherry liqueur). Definitely an autumn scent that will accompany me nicely in these months. The duration is very respectable ... at the beginning the trail is intense but with the passing of the hours it settles down until it becomes very discreet although still present. The color of the bottle perfectly reflects the soul of the fragrance.

Not really a dupe of Alien, but has very similar vibes, in my opinion. Also has similar vibes to Black and Velvet Orchid even though the scents are different. Violet Blossom is indeed a deep, strong, and mysterious floral, perfect for nighttime or chilly weather. Try it in the shop as it's not for a blind buy at all unless you like the vibes or Alien or Black Orchid and like these ones, it's a hit or miss and not for overspray. Overall, it is a Zara creation that is worth a look, a good 7/10.

The first time I tried this it reminds me immediately with one perfume in my collection, but I couldn’t recall. After a couple of times wearing this I like it more and more, I also figured out that it resembles Alien Eau Sublime (rather that the og Alien). As a perfume of its own, Zara Violet is dominated by the sweetness from the white flower and cherry blossom. It’s perfect for daily occasions, it’s bright and uplifting, fun, yet still seductive. Just don’t expect to much for the longevity.

It reminds me The Only One Intense by D&G (less sweet and creamy but 70% dupe). Both has that Grape soda vibe which I really like. Projection is okay but the longevity of almost all of ZARA perfumes is really bad, I get about an hour that I smell myself and maybe another hour of skin scent. People say it's okay because they're so affordable but I think I rather save for a perfume with good longevity as someone who hate to carry the bottle everywhere. A nice versatile scent it's a 6/10 for me

The first few times I tried out this fragrance it was a very grape-like floral fragrance. Which I loved because I have nothing like it in my collection. After a few days of owning this now when I spray it I get no grape at all. This smells very close to Girl of Now, almost identical, and I own that fragrance so I’m a bit disappointed. I don’t wear Girl of Now very often. I really enjoyed the grape opening of Violet Blossom, and can’t figure out why I don’t smell it anymore.

I mean, you can't really go wrong for the price. Smells good, lasts a respectable amount of time, garners compliments, gets the job done. My only complaint is the squirt on my atomiser is a bit strange and the perfume kind of gets sprayed upwards as well for some reason. I got perfume in my eye the other day when I used this even though I aimed the atomiser at my neck. I will have to remember to close my eyes the next time I put this on to avoid any further injury..

this is love at first spritz! awesome..I dont like Zara perfumes much but standing in a queue last weeks with my purchase of clothing and being bored i reached for it just out of curiosity and i never looked back..lol..just doused myself in the tester of this rich yummy dark fruity fragrance - perfect for fall - I sense actually just dark rich sweet plum with magnolia - looking at the notes now id never have guessed it was actually cherry...whatever. I love it!!

This is a very sweet perfume, ideal for colder months. At first it's quite heavy, but then settles into a nice inoffensive scent. I especially like the dry down - almond isn't listed in the notes here, but I think I can smell it and it's so pretty. The longevity could be better, it only lasts a couple of hours, but considering the price point it's perfectly fine.

Tried this at the mall and it smells like grape candy, like the more jelly ones that are sweet and juicy. I thought it was going to be violet because of the name, but even the notes listed don’t represent what is there on the initial spray. Don’t know how it develops because I sprayed a bunch of fragrances for trying as they have no pieces of paper at Zara.

This is a rich, vanilla, and flowery smell. It is slightly soapy indeed but in a rather nice manner, in the sense that it feels extremely good to spray this fragrance onto yourself after you had a refreshing shower or a nice bath. If you want to smell all fresh and ready for a cozy one-on-one night with a romantic touch, this is exactly what you need.

One of my favourite Zara perfumes sweet and playful, it’s perfect to wear all year and everyday (I usually wear strong - sweet perfumes even one summer days so for my taste this one is a mild perfume, the only downside with Zara perfumes is the longevity 🥲😖 but you can always reapply throughout the day😌 plus the price is amazingly good for that scent

Totally agree with asweetecho, I blind bought a small bottle of this and as soon as I tried it I thought it smelled like Guerlain's L'Heure Blue, it's got that dusty and slightly cold heliotrope-almond vibe to it. Really pleased with this as it's a lot less sweet than so many Zara perfumes and because of this seems a lot more grown-up.
