Warm Freedom

So impressed!! Never like Zara scents usually, but this is great. It’s like laundry clean, you can smell the beautiful quality cotton in there. And if you look at my wardrobe, that’s not my usual choice. This quickly then turns to cotton and sweet coffee. Unexpected combination, simple, yet effective. it works so well... the strength of it is also surprising for Zara, I can tell this will last on me, projection with over spraying could go to arms length, otherwise it’s intimate. So worth the price though!

On me, this smells exactly like Prada's Infusion d'Iris but it has an underlying sweet note somewhere. I love Infusion D'Iris so this was an instant hit for me right from the first spritz. Powdery iris goodness. I don't agree with the reviews saying that it reminds them of Fields at Nightfall - I own that too and I see where they are coming from (both are clean scents) but Warm Freedom is way muskier and not as sweet. Fields at Nightfall is a sweet and slightly musky scent that is not sugary.

I tend to side eye Zara fragrances unless there’s a decent amount of positive reviews. However I decided to try this on the notes and that it’s a Jo Malone collab. I found her previous collars to be the best of Zara’s line. It’s very pretty and this is what I had expected from Maison Margiela Replica Coffee Break. That wound up being more floral than I wanted. This is a cozy cotton close to skin musk with a coffee bean/grounds scent. Lovely, intimate and understated.

Blind buy from the notes and boy am I happy, this is beautiful, its everything I like, warm and cosy, it's slightly boozy on my skin, i also get the creamy coffee which I love it's much lighter than ysl b.o. like coffee with coffee mate in 😋 much more wearable, and then you also get the clean fresh powdery notes, I would wear this day or night it's one of those scents you can't stop sniffing, I'd definitely move close to someone just to keep smelling this 😉

I wasn't sure about this at first but now I love it. It's sillage and longevity are surprisingly good. It's my go-to clean girl work perfume and I layer it with Kayali Vanilla 28. I always get compliments on this combo! I just wish I could secure a back up bottle but I fell in love a little too late.

"Clean girl aesthetic" in a bottle. At first sniff, it was just a regular soapy musk, and then I fell in love. This is a fresh cotton ball straight out of the bag, the most elegant soap you ever smelled, and a little bit of coffee. Carried me through the last winter.

What a beautiful fragrance! It was a blind buy. Just read the notes and I ordered it. Great surprise. Super cozy and relaxing scent. Sweet and clean at the same time. You can wear it all year round.

This smells exactly like Zara's Fields At Nightfall except lighter. I like them both so I'll wear Warm Freedom during the day and FAN at night but I won't buy both again because it's too close.

Zara, I'm BEGGING you to bring this back. 😭

Hmmm... So, I do see where the grandma reference is coming from. I think sometimes that term gets thrown around pejoratively on here. However, I do find that this does pleasantly remind me of MY grandmother. She was a beautiful, Ukrainian, no-nonsense woman. She truly had a heart of gold but a waiting iron fist if required. She aged gracefully throughout the years despite various personal challenges she’d forged through. At night, she would, “take her face off,” as she called it. This was the time when whether she wore makeup that day or not, she would religiously attend to her bedtime skincare routine. She always smelled so good when she was finished and finally slipped into her terry cloth robe. It was a harmonious symphony from the combination of her cold cream, soap, moisturizer, lotion, and probably some perfume she used (most likely White Shoulders). She was always meticulously put together and the way she smelled just added to that aspect of her. For years, I have searched high and low for something that would replicate her scent. I didn’t have much luck during the early 2000’s because a lot of perfume and body products were departing from the classic scent profiles. Potentially, if you’re an 80’s baby like me, then I do see how this could be reminiscent of something that you would have smelled on your grandmother or even your mother back in the day. Many women used similar products and there was a less varied amount of perfumes to choose from in comparison to what we have now. Minimalist scents from VS like Heavenly and the original The Fragrance as well as some of the Gap fragrances like Dream, Heaven, and Grass came close but somehow missed the mark to capturing what I had emulated as a child. Zara’s Warm Freedom smells exactly like she did on those nights before bed when we would settle in and watch her “stories” on tv. I absolutely love it. The collection it comes from, Captivating Memories, couldn’t be more aptly named. The only other scent that has even come close is Balenciaga’s Florabotanica. I try to wear that very sparingly as it’s discontinued and has a tendency to be too heady. Warm Freedom is more subdued, less green, and is also thankfully more available/cheaper. I don’t think they smell exactly alike. They have completely different notes but they recreate the same olfactory sensation to me. I’m not really seeing the resemblance to Noa. Noa is way less potent than Warm Freedom but they do have the same subtle coffee note in the background. Maybe that’s the commonality other people are picking up. I do see how it’s more similar to Prada Infusion d’Iris. PIdI is more of a KO punch in the face of aldehydic iris while WF has kid gloves in comparison with the prominence of the softer cotton flower, magnolia, and cashmere. WF is more of a sweetly, clean barbershop-ish fragrance while Infusion is a full on old-fashioned powder bomb on me. Iris Cèdre in the Infusion line is more comparable to Warm Freedom to me. Longevity/sillage aren’t the greatest here but it’s not bad. I can smell it on me well into the 4-5 hour mark. After all, this is a Jo Malone creation and they are notorious for not performing very well. Still, for the price and sentimentality attached, this is incredible! I love the bottle. I feel like it’s aesthetically cute while staying true to the actual fragrance itself.

Lovely earthy (coffee+vetiver) powdery floral, with butter caramel (not sugary or syrupy) with clean “oily” musk (cotton). Sounds heavy and thick, but it isn’t. It is nice and sheer - feels as light as a cologne, although it’s a warm scent. I love how the notes come together and can be experienced separately, but that beautiful opening is so short-lived, leaving you high and dry, yearning for a true perfume concentration of this scent and for a longevity which can actually give you a proper chance to spend time with the notes blossoming instead of fading into a blur of cheap mess. I’m not expecting miracles from Zara, and yet they did deliver well enough on one too many occasions. This combination of notes and accords here is full of potential and if it’s a dupe of something out there - I now want to explore it (Black Opium and Noa Cacharel aren’t it, JM Cafe Vetiver has an accord from here, MMM Coffee Break has similarities, s.Oliver Selected for woman has the powdery musky florals , Molinard Sucree has a bit of resemblance, but none of these are the full story and Exquis Noir is already too far, although it offers some cozy buttery soft dark nut oil aspects). If Warm Freedom is original enough to not be referred successfully to any existing fragrance, then by all means - Terenzi, Xerjoff, Orto Parisi, whoever needs inspiration for a new project - take this recipe and do something even nicer with it - balance it, enhance with highlights and lowlights, splash few oomphs in, stabilize its best features and swirl in a bit of magic so that it doesn’t die a quick boring death ... and voila ... some of us will pay for such experience. Now I have to respray a single spot on my skin over and over to capture the goodness of the opening phase. This is priced reasonably enough to afford the pace of use, but it’s not unfolding into anything, which turns the joy into frustration. Past the alcohol stage, the scent reveals itself only to quickly extinguish right after. It’s the best one from its line. Layers well with the new Zara’s “sandalwood” (/cardamom) oil for some added structure and countering its cheap endgame fumes. I’m very happy to layer JM Cafe Vetiver because Warm Freedom adds femininity to it. MMM Coffee Break may get a bit cloying for me sometimes and benefits from some diluting with Warm Freedom too. CH Confidential Amethyst Haze is slightly masculine, but blends well with the feminine features of Warm Freedom, although I prefer this one on its own, because it’s masculine side doesn’t bother me much. I like this scent and would recommend it also to those who like Guerlain Initial but find it too expensive, too vintage for their taste or even age group or style. Also, all Zara fans, who remember the discontinued Zara’s Tuberose Summer edition (musky powdery floral, but with cocoa twist) - Warm Freedom is way better and blindbuy worthy.

It's warm and subtle but what I love about this one is that there are layers to the notes. The perfume isn't linear, it's multifaceted. There is a cashmere softness, an aquatic tinge, some wood and a floral. I do love the image of raw cotton off the branch because I feel that image does pop into my mind when I first spray this on. I get a soapy minty edge to this, not sure what that is, but it's nice. Fresh, soft and clean. Warm Freedom, well done. Thank you Jo Malone!

Out of the four in the collection, this is the best one and most unique. It reminds me of Glossier You, not the scent but the idea of a better smelling version of you, that warm, sweet, cosy cotton musk like a cocoon on an autumn evening having a cup of hot drink by the fire and a good book. I can’t smell the coffee at all (so that hot drink isn’t coffee) and I find the opening too powdery but the dry down is everything.

Very ‘cottony’, musky, clean smelling and powdery. Kind of a Zadig and Voltair TIH vibe. Kind of a Body Shop White Musk vibe. Not so unique. Not quite a Narciso musk. Smells like baby powder and smells comforting. Don’t get any coffee at all. Would make a nice bedtime scent or fresh out of the shower. Need to try this on skin. 7/10 on paper

Want to smell like the freshly powdered buttocks of a baby? Look no further.... I don't hate it, but I don't love it either. I put this on before work to smell clean and simple all day, which it delivers. Outside of work, I'm not sure where or why I'd wear this. It's great as a home fragrance or to mist over your closet.

similar to fields at nightfall and h&m's mirabilia. i smell the cotton flower the most at first spritz. as it sits on my skin, the cashmere wood and sandalwood are more prominent than the coffee. my skin picks up woody notes pretty well.

I rarely like Zara fragrances because they are often weak, but this one is beautiful and strong enough to project without being overpowering. It's cozy and feminine. The bottle is lux. This is a lovely perfume for a great price.

Very pretty fragrance. Smells like you just got out of the shower, styled your hair, and are now sipping on a warm mug of coffee. Very comforting and easy to wear. A great value for the price!

Nice light coffee scent with a musky clean layer scent. Easy to wear IMO

Gives me flashbacks to my childhood: my mum setting her early nineties perm with hairspray and brewing a coffee to get ready for work while I’m playing with one of those babypowder-scented plastic dolls. It’s weirdly nostalgic? I don’t hate it but i’m not loving it either.

This was a blind buy that I regretted and sold quite fast, it smelled stale, old.

The short review is that this smells exactly like hairspray and a coffee stain - and I want to smell like neither of these things. The longer version is as follows. You are at home on the weekend and it's the early afternoon. You have decided to have a lazy day indoors, so you splurge on a coffee from that snazzy new café that’s recently opened near you. You regret this almost instantly. The delivery guy spilled a bit of it during the journey despite the cardboard cup carrier, and you notice that the café has got your order wrong too. You pretend the drink tastes good, due to all the Tik Tok reviews on how cute and *aesthetic* the new café is. As you sit on your sofa feeling incredibly un-cozy, your phone’s alarm suddenly screeches at you and makes you jump. You read ‘LUNCH WITH KAT 2PM’ on the screen. You feel your stomach drop. It is 1:47pm. The unfinished cup of coffee lingers hot and wretched on your breath. You get dressed at the speed of light and your hair looks like a hot mess. You try to salvage it by dousing it in hairspray; it's a cheap brand so you spray to your heart's content. With the smell of 'I'm running late' sweat now taking centre stage, your classless arrival at the restaurant draws several looks of pity. You even pity yourself, for all the money you ever spent on that coffee and this upcoming lunch and the cheap hairspray and scratchy knit you’ve got on. Was it a cashmere one? Cotton? Who could say. Kat also feels sorry for you, as well as a cough brewing in the back of her throat as she gives you a hug. She wonders what could smell so subtle, yet so tragic?

This is going to be a hit for most. I swear I can smell jasmin. Overall feel Black Opium with loads of hairspray on a sandalwood base. After a while the "jasmin" becomes stronger and almost soursweet and the drydown is almost "edible" like the leftovers of a latte with sugar. Most people are going to love this, for me its a return...I cant stand Black Opium alas....

Not what I expected from reading the notes and comments. It is quite strong yet smells too much like baby wipes to me. Sadly am selling it on, ... :-(

A musky baby powder bomb with a whiff of coffee gum upon initial spritz. I found it! Overpowering.

I probably was blind buy it according to the notes which were really promising however the final perfume turned out to a big mess for me. Not pleasent at all, smells like a toilet spray. This bottle will never be empty...

I just recently bought Warm Freedom; it's been discontinued for a year and was very difficult to acquire. With that being said I went into this blind buy solely because of the notes and scent profile. I'm a fan of powdery florals, coffee, and cotton flower. The apple didn't fall from the tree because as soon as I opened the package I was reminded of my mother and grandmother who wore Noa Cacheral. It's almost identical; I knew this going it but was still surprised by how similar they are. I had to share it with my mother who wore Noa in the mid 2000's, she also vouched for their similarity but noted that Warm Freedom was slightly less floral and more musky. I will say, Jo Malone fragrances always feel one note to me and this is more complex compared to her other work. Longevity and silage are also on the softer end for general fragrances but long wearing for Jo Malone. It'll stay on clothes for 4-6 hours and about 3 on skin. It fades to a light irisy powder and musk scent. I liked it but it does feel dated to me because the similarity to Noa just shoots me back to 2006.

It smells pretty, I love cotton flower shower gels, so I don’t mind owning this scent...I see it more as a spring summer scent..it is soft, feminine, it doesn’t stand out, and is a bit watered out..I don’t detect the coffee, which is fine...it is a soft clean scent, rounded, and nice..I can’t call it more than nice because it is too soft..but for the price.not the worse out there..I will wear it once in awhile, glad it is a big bottle, as you have to overspray..just a pleasant scent, which could have been so much more.

Undecided on this one so far...from the notes I thought it would be a straightforward like but on first spray I get an unpleasant hairspray type smell and real sourness. Maybe it’s just my skin type. Thankfully after 10 mins or so this turns into something a lot more pleasant and creamy so maybe the initial spray is just something I need to tolerate!

Beautiful scent but just not what i like. I had just given away my Snowflakes&Cashmere bodymist from Bath&Bodyworks before buying Warm freedom. I couldn’t believe i bought the same scent twice. I’m a bit surprised nobody on here has made that link. But i know fragrance is subjective. To me it smells just like it.

I went to a date last night wearing this and he can't stop sniffing me and gave me compliment about how good i smell. This morning when i woke up, i still can smell traces of it on me.

A grey clean musky skin scent with a sweet coffee note that doesn’t dominate the fragrance but enhances it. It is a great bedtime fragrance for sure.

Simple yet interesting coffee floral scent. Gourmand fragrances often feel stuffy and heavy for me so I enjoyed the 'lightness' of this one.

The scent was good, but it smelled a little bit like old lady to me.

Generic smell, I have body sprays stronger than this. silage 1/10
