Wonder Rose Sublime

This is just back in stock at the discounted price of 6,99€, togheter with the other two from the Wonder Rose Capsule Collection so I thought I shall leave a review of all of them, because they are worth it in my opinion, especially at this price. Wonder Rose Sublime is fresh, candied, acquatic and green. The base is a mix between musk, cedar and vanilla (resulting in something candy flossy in texture, a sort of caramelized cedar) but yet manages to remain watery! Very well done. The opening is green, and a touch herbal, probably from the choice of tea note they used; the grapefruit blossom note is quite detectable, even more so then the pink pepper, but when this stage fades the scent becomes rose centered. Nothing classical or old style, and nothing jammy either...this rose is joung, green, wet, dewy and just a touch sweet from the vanilla. A rose under the spring rain, and a mix between a fresh rose candy and some rose tea. The other florals are noticeable, in particular the green and almost unripe lilly of the vally, very delicate, but the rose remains the main focus. The dry down per se is vanillic (a vanilla that is no bourbon like, nor overly sweet or vanillina like), Zara has already used this type of measured vanilla, and usually describes it as "black vanilla". The type of musk they used (in combo with cedar) gives a dry and spun sugar effect/texture, that is already noticeable in the middle of the scent, hugging the floral notes. To tell the truth, there is also something fruity (raspberry or black current like) but it is just a light facet, inherent to the kind of rose used, infact the scent remains green, light, wearable and mature (very different from Wonder Rose and Wonder Rose Summer, which are cloying, very fruity, have too much chemical coconut, too juveniles for my taste). This is a perfume that is very apt for spring, specially the kind of spring we have here now in Italy, very rainy. This kind of climate amplifies the watery aspect of the scent and its green part. I find the overall effect very feminine, delicate but also a bit melancholic, since the sweetness is there but it never truly opens up to a full potential. It really pairs well with a gloomy mood or a gloomy day, without going overboard on the dramatic and managing to stay romantic. As for longevity, it last for five hours on me, the dry down lingers even more, pretty darn good for Zara standards! Projection is light but still present. It's one of the best from the Zara's base/cube line, togheter with Violette Blossom, Nuit, Wonder Rose Obsession, in terms of lasting power. The concentration is edp. The other two from the same collection (Obsession and So Intense) behave the same way. Take it while you can! EDIT: I don't like the original Wonder Rose (a fruity, sweet bomb, with no rose in it) but all three of the Capsule Collection are very pleasurable scent that share nothing with the one from wich they take their name. So if you, like me, don't enjoy that one then give this collection a try. They are not to be considered flankers of Wander Rose, the strong coconut water base, the red fruits and tutti frutti notes are totaly absent here.

This fragrance is wonderful. It smells like spring rain. Light, airy, a bit watery, green and natural. Floral notes are very light. Quite likeable. Well blended. Clean, crisp, innocent, youthful, feminine, addictive. Dries down to a lovely, soft, lightly sweet floral, a bit soapy scent. Love it! Good for casual occasions and for work. It doesn't remind me of any other fragrance. I'd put it in the same category as Armani Acqua Di Gioia Eau Fraiche, but with more peony and light rose (I generally don't like rose perfumes, but here the rose is not very noticeable). It makes me want to try more scents from floral green category. It's highly rated for a good reason and I'm sure it will sell out quickly. It's my favorite scent from this line and my top favorite out of recent Zara releases. It's sad that the perfumer behind this fragrance wasn't disclosed. Frosted bottle is cute and matches the scent pretty well. I wish it came in a travel spray.

Rosy and aquatic, smells clean and fresh, too simple for my taste.

I don't like it. This was a blind buy, because based on the notes (fresh scent with tea and pepper 😍) I tought that this has to be amazing. But this smells so boring, I couldn't even notice these notes, it's like something flowery and that's it. Luckily the sillage and longetivity were not too much.
