Zara Rose Petal

Juicy! I got this one together with Zara's "Baby Blue" and I'm really enjoying it. First of all, the name is really wrong here, since there's no rose and there are no petals (there are no heavy flowers in this scent). It's basically a really juicy perfume, very very fresh and slightly tropical (but not in your typical coconut tropical vibe). The main player here is watermelon, which is the opening note that really stays there the whole time. There's a crispy apple note and a sexiness that I think comes from the passionfruit. In the drydown you get a sweeter base, still with the watermelon and a (small) touch of violet, but I wouldn't describe this perfume as a floral at all and it's not powdery either. The opening reminds me a lot of Britney Spears' "Island Fantasy", although this one lasts a lot longer and it gets a bit sweet and floral in the base, while Britney's "Island Fantasy" was more about watermelon, citrus and green notes to me. I'm pleased with this purchase and I think I'll save it for summertime (although it's strong enough to be worn in cold weather). It doesn't project much and it lasts a few hours, which is good for such a fresh fragance. I like it a bit more than "Baby Blue", which is a sweeter vanilla fragance. This one is juicy and sexy!

I'd say that notes for Rose petal and Baby blue somehow got switched here. However, I like this one better, as it is less sweet. I can't say I feel a dominant fruit note, and for those who are looking after fruities like summer Escadas, I'd recommend Zara Miama.
