Oud-Couture

I've had this a few days and blind-bought it, because I could imagine it from the desciption and found it on sale. I LOVE it. I have been spraying morning and evening to be able to smell it all the time. I am glad I got it, but I'd say it is not a safe-blind buy unless you know you LOVE spicy/woody fragrances. Initial spray is super overwhelming "aftershave" on me but that wears off really fast. I am left with a fresh and woody spicy sweetness that changes a lot during the day. I love it after the initial spray. It smells warm and cozy on me. Not much floral, but rather a balsamic hint on me. And to me it smells "high quality". It's hard to explain, but the composition is so beautiful, and and I don't get that artificial and headache-inducing sweetness vanilla I find in many vanilla fragrances. It's a spicy "dry" vanilla on me, rather than gourmand/icecream and it is a delicious, subtle hint. My husband loves it on me as well.

At first, I only smell cardamom. And it’s really strong, like a cardamom roll! Not unpleasant but a little bit unusual. When I put it on, the cardamom all but disappeared. Instead the scent turns woody, almost pine-like. A slight feeling of Finnish sauna. There are absolutely no floral notes when I wear this scent, but I’m told it differs on different people. After 15 minutes I smell almost nothing, just a very distant sweet woody spice, almost indiscernible. The strange thing is, other people can smell it when I don’t! And I get lots of compliments. Myself, I find it slightly more male than unisex but my husband loves the scent on me so I may be wrong. Altogether it’s a really unique scent and I’m glad I bought it.

Reminds me a little of Byredo accord Oud but this one is weaker and woodier and sourer. The oud is definitely the star and it's a nice pleasant oud that doesn't go fecal. Very wearable, very unisex and with a strange fresh sourness that stays around the oud through all its life. I would wear this to family dinners, or lunch with a boss or just work in an office in a nice company

The initial spray takes my thoughts towards YsL Opium ..... After some time, the powder settles, and more fresh notes kick in. At least om my skin. For me, this is a keeper 👍😊
