Purple Molecule 070 · 07

An explosion of fruits on a bed of woody notes and warm vanilla. While this officially has a pitahaya note, I don't think that fruit has a very distinct scent in general, so I would say that the fruity note in Purple Molecule smells closer to passion fruit and blackberry: Tart and fizzy with a green undertone, but also sweet. It definitely smells exotic. Due to the vanilla and the woody base the scent has some weight, this is no transparent freshie. On the contrary, it warms up on the skin and wafts from my arm to my nose all day. Fragrantica lists an amber note, other sources say sandalwood, but I only smell a general synthetic woodiness which I don't always love but find fitting in this fragrance. It lends a much needed sharpness to the sweet notes. The vibe I get from this fragrance is not just "purple", it's more of a tropical summer night feeling. Like drinking a cocktail underneath some lush dark green vegetation with hot pink, purple, yellow and orange blooms and fruits around me. Even though I really like this, I decided I don't need a bottle. I get a similar summer night atmosphere from several completely different smelling fragrances in my collection (La Prairie Midnight Rain, Beyoncé Midnight Heat and Jimmy Choo Exotic, if you're curious) and I already own Cloud Collection by this brand, which also has a woody-fruity structure, just with a more "nordic" vibe. But if you're looking for something fruity and intense, this is absolutely worth a try.

Very refreshing and light. I definitely like it better than Pink Molecule, which to my nose gets too bubblegumy. This one is more earthy and woody, but still tart and slightly 'sparkly' like Pink Molecule, even if there's no champagne note listed. I don't find it tropical. It's fruity, but to my nose in a more of a cooled fruit tea kind of way. It's classy, simple and chic. Great for daily wear in the spring and summer, but more in the daytime. I really like layering it too, for example, with Van Cleef & Arpels Santal Blanc, which amps up the woody facet, or with Tom Ford Soleil Blanc, which on the other hand makes it more creamy, summery and appropriate for evening-wear. If I'm in the mood for something more powdery, even a bit formal, I pair it with Chanel Eau Fraiche. Projection is moderate and longevity is great, provided the skin is clean and well-moisturised. Tried it on a day when I hadn't put moisturiser on the points where I apply perfume and the performance wasn't great. Otherwise, it lasts easily 10 hours and more and stays on shirts, jackets, tops, etc. for weeks. I get wafts of it throughout the day, it's very uplifting. Update: As I'm wearing it more it gets more and more vanillic and creamy to my nose, but still maintains the same qualities I mentioned before.

Notes listed here are surprising as brand website only lists forals, not any fruits AND no phitaya. But IF gorgeous dragon fruit that looks completely wild and very IG worthy would smell like this in real life, it would completely suit it! :P In real life though phitaya has no strong scent or taste. I've not smelled the blossoms though... the fruit is refreshing, yet has a very mild-taste: watery, like typical cactus, a bit like prickly pear... Now, I love love Purple Molecule, its always feels a bit too sweet for my usual taste in scents, but works as a guilty pleasure, indulgent fruitiness with sweet magnolia backdrop and sweet musk. Its not powdery, but instead super juicy, fleshy and joyful. I agree with reviewers below- its a bit like a tropical cocktail- the full presentation with tropical fresh flower decoration, passionfruit, and some nordic red currants or even cassis/blackcurrant liqueur for very small acidic twist. Btw, performance is worthy of niche price- Purple Molecule is a weighty well performing awesome scent that projects well enough for other of your beach party guests to enjoy the trail ;)

First molecular perfume for me! So amazing! I jog regularly with my friend she tested this among with Givenchy Irresistible. I still reached for hand with this on it. She bought Givenchy, I went and got purple molecule. Set it straight I do NOT like the first impression. Harsh, synthetic blackberry. BUT after 10 minutes!!!! The most beautiful amber-vanilla I've ever smelled! Longevity is the best I experienced. I only got 10 ml and lasts forever. I put it on in the afternoon next day 10 am it is still present after showering, changing. A bit linear. But I do not mind it. Also it is true, with your pheromons it is amazing blend (at least with mine). I am so done with old/vintage/reformulation, I love that it is molecular, probably will stay the same all batches. My hubby doesn't love or hate in bottle, on me, well let's say it is aphrodisiac. Minimalist, beautiful perfect millennial sexiness. I love that it is unclear where does your scent and where is your perfume starts! Love and Love!

This was a blind buy at the beginning. Found a 10ml spray online for 8€ so why not? When I sprayed me and smelled it I thought "Omg this is so good!? And... I recognize it. Where have I smelled this before?" And I went about my day as usual. When my fiancé got home from work, he smelled me and said "You smell like the Ushuaia shop in Ibiza!" YES!! That was the smell!! I knew it! It smelled so wonderful in there, such a sunny, tropical and fizzy smell! The whole hotel area smelled like this the evenings we went there to dance. The sundown and the energy, so wonderful and so much fun! I love Ibiza, it has been to many years now, time to go back next summer I think. Until then, Im gonna wear this and keep sniffing this through the few hot days of summer we have here in Sweden.
