The Lawyer

This is an initial review of the fragrance. Upon the initial spray, The Lawyer and Molecule No. 8 are strikingly similar on my skin. The distinction between the two is only apparent when worn side-by-side. However, as the fragrance settles, there is a noticeable divergence in scent. The Lawyer evokes a sense of Creed Aventus, not as a direct dupe, but in a way that brings it to mind. Around 15 to 20 minutes into the dry down, the mandarin note begins to become more prominent. To my nose, The Lawyer feels like a deeper, darker variation of Molecule No. 8. I may follow up with further impressions once I experience the base notes. UPDATE: I retract my comment about Creed Aventus. This is in no shape or form a sign of Creed Aventus. I'm starting to notice the resin note stand out.

Genuinely my favourite fragrance of all time. There's something about that Ylang-Ylang. It's almost gourmandy-esque, though it is not intentional. This has become my signature scent. Mild projection and the dry-down is very fast. I often give this 5-6 sprays and I still don't feel it is enough. This is not necessarily a safe blind buy for everyone, but the smell of this is charming in every way. This ultimately is the reader's fragrance. Hard to explain but it is cozy and "hospitable" in it's own way.

Very strong masculine smell, the name says it all, a very powerful man who could be a lawyer in a Suit and drives prestige car.

I like this perfume! This is my boss lady scent for the fall/winter. So it is a bit masculine and has a strong character but I don't detect that typical masculine barber shop or shower gel etc quality in it. If you are a women with strong personality I think this is a unique choice for the office. So about the scent itself to me it opens with a pretty sweet and fresh bergamot-lemon combo, it kind of reminds me of an herbal lemon candy. This gets a little bit sweeter and deeper during the next hour. The deep dry down on me is this dark chocolate and resin smell and the bergamot dissapears completely. By this time it's a skin scent which I find unfortunate because this is my favourite part of this perfume. You can amp it up with another dark chocolate perfume if you want to wear it for an evening out. It's moderate performance which is okay for everyday wear. I personally like to wear it for presentation or an event where I want to feel put together and elegant.

I have bought a full bottle as I wanted to test the "only Scandinavian perfumer" line. The fragrance opens with very green notes, not too different from any other green fragrance. Kind of reminiscent of Irish Tweed but a little gentler. This opening will change rather quickly into creamy green notes, eventually settling in slightly powdery yet woody dry down with a whiff of pine in it. All of these phases take place within an hour or so; the performance of this fragrance is extremely disappointing. It will pretty much disappear within couple of hours and within 3 to 4 hours it is gone from your skin too. Absolutely abysmal for "eau de perfume" and the price point. In addition, in less than a week of ownership the lettering has worn out from the bottle itself. A cheap fragrance in cheap packaging. I really wanted to explore Zarko's line, but given the cheap feel of the whole package, the fragrance and the bottle I will give this line a wide pass. How can this cost more than £100 is beyond me.
