Eclat de Cuivre

I've not tried Layton, but this is one of many fragrances I've tried that I understand are broadly similar to it, if not flat-out clones of it. This strikes me as being better-balanced and more accomplished than most, including Cuir Impérial in the same Zilli line. In particular, neither the cardamom nor the vanilla is too assertive. The ambery, resinous, and balsamic aspects nudge this in the direction of Eau des Baux. To me this smells partly like a sleeker, less vanillic, less powdery, less sweet, less forthright, probably slightly more masculine analogue of that, without the tobacco-like tonka. Like EdB, it could definitely be worn day or night in the cooler months. It's probably slightly more suitable for formal occasions or nights out than EdB is. It smells quite self-assured or mature or whatever, and doesn't need exceptional performance to make its presence felt. It performs quite well enough, without being inherently obnoxious. The far dry-down isn't in any hurry to leave.

It is perfect. It starts slightly citrusy and sweet and later dries down to Layton later, maybe slightly more balsamic with it's smoky incense note. It is about 80 percent same, but adds an incense note and a tolu balm note. For the price point, this is the best quality you can get. Much better than Star, another clone which is highly regarded as the best and lasts loger than Star. Close to Boss Bottled Absolu too, with less resemblence to Carlisle and no leather. If you want a fragrance with the Layton DNA for the best price-quality-performance ratio, this and White in Black are your best shot I'd say. Performance is also better than White in black, but WIB is 125ml and cheaper than this one. Smell them both and buy what suits

A couple hours in this has settled into an absolutely lovely smoke, incense, tobacco flower accord that is delicious. Yowza. Resin, amber, peppery incense, warm spice, vanilla, patchouli. This is so good and different. My this reminds me of file is empty. This is my third Zilli fragrance. They have all been outstanding. I have sampled 115 different houses in the past year. This is the only one that is batting 1000.

This perfume is a total success, it is amber and very comforting with lots of resinous notes. imagine yourself in a bar in front of a glass of whiskey in winter time and you wear this perfume on your cashmere jumper obviously the waitress in front will compliment you. the projection is moderate and the staying power on my skin is between 6h and 7h

That's one great fragrance. I've purchased it around 50 EUR which is a good price. First it smells pretty clean and I sense a great lavender. After that amber comes along. Pretty much a fall or winter smell but it does not project or last much on my skin. Will continue monitoring.
