Picked this up after watching a YouTuber who gave it a bad review. Which, if you watch YouTube reviews these days, you know it’s either going to be good or bloody brilliant. I’d read somewhere, before watching that review, that this is a clone of Kilian’s Straight To Heaven. It’s not a bad clone at all. In fact, it’s a really good rendition. Projection is strong for the first 1-2 hours. Then it settles, but it’s more than noticeable to those around you. Longevity off my skin is around the 8 hour mark. After that, it becomes a skin scent, but you’ll get the odd waft. Overall quality is pretty good. I’d initially given this a 4/5, but given the ridiculously low price for a decent woody fragrance, this scores impressively. Highly recommended if you like your boozy, woody numbers. 👌🏻

My story with this fragrance is that I really enjoy the original Kilian one. This one is close to it but not 1 to 1. Fairy Tale is amazing tho, it feels like you are walking in a pine forest at winter. The fragrance is airy, woody and easy to wear. Now here comes the down side: this fragrance just like the original one, doesn’t last and doesn’t project. 12 sprays is barely enough and it lasts for maximum 2 hours. For this price you can’t really complain, but I would gladly pay the double or even triple of the price for 8 hours longevity and a bit better projection.

You're in the middle of nowhere in the rustic wood cabin...you realize a shot of rum will do to warm up your soul...there's a plate of dried fruits and nuts...you only eat a few as too many would be too sweet and you need just a tiny bite of sweetness. The nutmeg almost gives a feel of leather. This is such a nicely executed gem. It's woody, dark, mysterious. Love.

I don't really get the hate on this one. I got it for like 12€ and I couldn't ask for more, if you like winter/fall woody fragrances especially Oud Wood by Tom Ford you'll enjoy this one too. It smells classy and the name was well chosen. I blind bought this one and it surprised me, sometimes you just have to take the risk (unless it's expensive).

Masculine, boozy like a spiced rum, woody and vanillic like a bourbon. They blend together here for a really great scent! Absolute steal for the price ! Edit: Fragrance has gotten stronger! Now lasts for an average amount of time after about three months of maceration, with light projection. Opening is very strong. I like it very much!

The closest straight to heaven clone I’ve found so far but it would’ve been better if they smoothed it out and put more emphasis on the dried fruits. But I got this for like $30cad which is a steal. I hope more brands do dupes of straight to heaven!

I've been wearing A Fairy Tale for a week and here are my thoughts: First off, it definitely has some similarities to Straight to Heaven, but I wouldn’t call it a perfect match—probably around 60-70% similar at best. The opening feels quite different. I do get a boozy vibe, but I don’t pick up much of the rum note that makes STH so distinct for me. Instead, it comes off as more woody, slightly sour, and dry. As it dries down, though, it really starts to shine. It becomes sweeter, darker, and a little dirty, with the fruits and patchouli standing out more. The dry-down feels richer and gives off a masculine, mysterious, and slightly rugged vibe, making it perfect for someone who enjoys bold, non-mainstream fragrances. This definitely isn’t a safe, mass-appealing scent, so I wouldn’t recommend a blind buy. It has a woody, boozy, masculine, and slightly dirty aura, making it feel sophisticated yet edgy. If you like Straight to Heaven, there’s a good chance you’ll enjoy this too, though the booziness here is quite different. Performance Sillage: Moderate (6/10) Projection: Soft to moderate (5/10) Longevity: Decent, but nothing crazy Overall, I really like the scent and think it’s worth the money. It’s something I’ll keep wearing and enjoying. Keep in mind that I'm a fresh beginner and my nose isn’t super trained yet, but these are my honest impressions! -- After halving the bottle, about ~6 months review: Yeah, I definitely suggest this fragrance. Not as a dupe of STH, and not as a boozy fragrance, but if you like STH, or Burberry Hero, this one would also be suitable for you. Quite woody fragrance combined with dry fruit sweetness. Not good for summer, but suits for fall and winter. I've worn this on date nights, and got compliments.

I bet this fragrance will smell quite different in six months. Right now my brand new bottle does not match the reviews I have read. It is a theatrical mood setter more than a fragrance. Yes it's a palatable cousin to Mahir Black. Fairy tale? Heaven? I dunno to me it smells like a cedar panelled, nicotine-stained smoker's lounge off a derelict Bauhaus stairway to Hell. "Cozy Cabin"? OK if that's a cabin in a Twin Peaks forest, backlit in red from a fire over the hill. Every single note is hued with a bit of oil tar. And I don't get rum, I get single malt whiskey. At least it is animated, unlike the scorched sludge of Mahir Black. A Fairy Tale always keeps the menace at bay but it's there in the background. This is a roadhouse frag for shady characters. Often these UAE fragrances smooth out after 3-6 months. Time will tell.

I blind-bought this fragrance for $20. Do not blind buy this. It smells very strongly of rum, and the only other thing I can distinquish is the cedarwood. It's not entirely unpleasant, but i have smelled better. One spray will project 2-5 feet for about 4 hours. DON'T OVERSPRAY! It is very masculine, and a clone of niche fragrance Kilian's Straight to Heaven. Not a crowd pleaser.

For me the first 30 minutes reminds me of encre noire with its pencil vibe which I don't like, but after 30 minutes it turns into the fragrance I've been looking for, it lasts about 4-5 hours with medium projection but for the price of around $15 I'm very happy to blind buy

Not a bad fragrance, but definitely not a clone of Straight to Heaven. And if it is meant to be one, it's a fail — it lacks many of the original's important nuances. Anyway, I think if you like Straight to Heaven, not only its opening, you will like Fairy Tale as well

I get the booze strong and a strong tobacco smell too. I'm not sure what's giving that tobacco as it isn't in the notes list but they're the two main smells i get.

In the air, it smells like sawdust, mold, silt, coca cola, rum, chocolate powder, and pencil shavings. Up close on skin, it is dry-sweet, dusty, creamy, boozy, earthy, powdery, a little bit minty. It's a gothic and strange smell. The scent is fitting for a man of mystery and of few words who wears all black all the time. Very distinct, I have not smelled a fragrance like this before. It is not dense like I'd expect it to be, it is surprisingly very light and airy– which is a good thing, if this kind of scent were potent or "beast mode" it would likely become stinky and definitely be offensive and more unwearable. It is inoffensive in a way that it won't punch people's noses since it's so light, soft, and airy– the light, soft, and airy characteristic of this fragrance adds elegance and sophistication, the total opposite of those obnoxiously loud fragrances. This is not a safe blind-buy, and not safe-to-wear, it may have some mass-appealing aspects but it is still polarizing. There will be people who will find the smell of this fragrance weird and repulsive. Not versatile, only for cold weather nighttime use. It turns into a skin scent really quick, making its use limited only for intimate moments and close encounters (Netflix & Chill type of scenarios). As for longevity: it surprisingly has lasting power — it stays as a skin scent for 10+ hours. Its alright. I like it.

The ceder is freshly cut and a little green, the patchouli dank, and the rum is that high proof clear stuff that is more burn than taste. Raisins are trying hard but not quite succeeding in tying everything together, till about an hour in when the ceder, patchouli and rum fade into each other enough to be palatable, and the scent trail starts making sense. The scent trail very subtle with about a 5 inch radius, and is surprisingly, very nice. The vanilla is rich and warm, I'm getting a little cinnamon with that nutmeg, and it's all rounded out comfortably with some more miscellaneous dried fruits. This scent trail is so different and so, so much nicer that what I can smell of A Fairy Tale directly off my skin, that it took over an hour for me to be sure there wasn't any residual fragrance on my shirt interfering. Unisex. Very weak. I kept spraying till I could smell it without touching my nose to my skin and it took 15 sprays all over, over heavy moisturiser, and it's barely even a skin scent. The scent bubble is so subtle it takes effort and angling my head/limbs to find. 2 hours longevity on skin. 3 to 4 on clothing. My bottle's been macerating for nearly a month now and while it smells much better than the bitter woodshop it was when it first arrived, I'm really hoping it's got a bit further to go.

I think many of the negative reviews come from people who don’t usually try dupes or oils. I remember very similar scents being sold in unbranded perfume shops. A Fairy Tale is clearly inspired by Kilian’s Straight to Heaven, but here it feels denser and longer-lasting — almost as if longevity and projection were prioritized at the expense of the original’s smoothness. You definitely get the rum and dried fruits, but the softness and refinement of STH are missing. I’ve only had the bottle for 3 days, so I’ll update my review after 2 months of maceration. For now, I’d say it sits somewhere between Ursa (not as harsh) and STH (not as soft or deep). If you’re looking for the projection and longevity that STH lacks, this is a good alternative. But if what you truly want is the exact STH experience, this may not fully satisfy you.

Nose Note #535 It has a distincy smell of dried rasins soaked in rum! And a hint of chocolate. Nice strong cedar note. Wow! And it's long lasting. Unfortunately, it's not a crowd pleaser. I really liked it at first, because the scent is so unique. But after some time I've changed my mind. It's too niche for me and it's a special occasion type of scent. It's not too heavy and you can wear it in the summer in A/C. My main problem is the mildly sweet dried rasins note that makes the scent rather dark. The note started to annoy me after some time. Otherwise, a great experience. 7.5/10, real dried rasins!

I like to be positive with my comments on here but once in a while I have to be brutally honest, and this is one of those times... This stuff got a rating on this site of about 4.3 which I think is quite generous. To be short (and brutally honest), to me this simply smells like a pine 2 x 4 with maybe some side notes. This is a give away for me. There's no way that letting it sit on my shelf for several months is going to improve it to the point that I'd wear. Not for me and some lucky homeless shelter will be getting this, courtesy of me.

Perhaps I got a bad batch but the liquor/rum notes are coming very strong. Smells like I've been clumsily drinking shots and have liquor spilled down my chin. Otherwise the smell is ok, halfway there to it's Kilian inspiration. Just a shame the opening will give you a headache

I think I got a bad batch. The scent I like but it's very weak. Lasts 30mins then it's gone. Barely projecting. Mind you I let this rest for a month. Super disappointed

What a gorgeous scent this is. The cedar, nutmeg and rum combination is very prominent. I smell a bit of incense in the opening too, even though it's not listed in the notes. There's also just a touch of sweetness present throughout that balances out the bitterness very well. It must be the patchouli and vanilla. Quite a mature fragrance but not strictly for older people -- if you want something in the vein of Encre Noire A L'Extreme but slightly easier to wear, you will appreciate this.

Very very piney..... Someone wrote its like walking in a forest in winter with pine trees..... They replaced the dried fruits with pine making it earthy.... Very manly this is suited for a lawyer who wins alot of cases.... I'm not a lawyer so I don't think I can't find a place where I can wear this...... Nice scent probly get better with maseration

I had this on my shelf for a year. I hate this. It smells strongly of patchouli and sharp woods, and I say this as a lover of patchouli, here it just reeks. It's unwearable IMHO and it's not nowhere similar to Burberry Hero or fragrances like that. 0 sweetness whatsoever, this is terrible.

it isn't bad. it projects and lasts for a long time. but it does NOT smell like kilian straight to heaven. no rum at all. all it is is just a pine. Will wear it a few times max. youtube lied to me:(

This smells VERY close to Ursa by Tiziana Terenzi ... and much less like Straight to heaven.
