Ghyoom

A PERFUMED "MÉNAGE À TROIS"... 1) Usually I don't like to write about clones unless we are dealing with a high-quality or highly-praised fragrance. - In my opinion, Ghyoom is not really a clone and it's a highly-praised fragrance. I'll discuss about quality later. 2) Usually, I only write about fragrances that I like. - I love Ghyoom which is better than just "to like". On top of it, I have been using/experimenting with it a couple of times each week (I hardly use the same perfume twice in the same week). 3) Ghyoom is just another low-price dupe created by Afnan and distributed through the Zimaya brand. - In fact, it is a low-price fragrance created by Afnan and distributed by its affiliated company Zimaya. However, scent-wise it can even be considered a unique perfume. Its scent profile may be defined as 1) Fresh, 2) Green and 3) Aquatic, exhibiting Citrusy facets. 4) What perfume could Ghyoom be cloning? - The list of inspiring fragrances is quite long. The fragrance that reunites the biggest consensus is Orto Parisi's "Megamare" with a profile that may be defined as a) Aquatic, b) Fresh and c) Spicy, portraying Woody facets. The similarity with Ghyoom is claimed to happen in the base and dry down. Next on the list stands Dolce & Gabbana's "K" which shows a scent profile definable as a) Fresh, b) Fruity and c) Citrusy with Sweet facets. The similarity with Ghyoom is claimed to happen in the opening and heart phases. So, we have here a Zimaya that is supposed to open like "K" and finish like "Megamare", even if "K" and "Megamare" are not closely related at all. It must be the rare case of a perfect perfumed "ménage à trois" between Ghyoom, Megamare and K scent profiles. It just does not make sense. Strangely enough, the inspiration list does not end here. Browsing through several credible opinion sources, I read reviews claiming Ghyoom reminds D&G's "Light Blue Eau Intense", Armani's "Acqua Di Gio Profumo", Davidoff's "Cool Water" and Lanvin's "L'Homme Sport". It's hard to believe that a single perfume can stretch to so many scent types. Definitely, Ghyoom is quite unique for me as it cannot be similar to half a dozen non-related fragrances and with a fragrance pyramid way different from all the above-mentioned perfumes. Unfortunately, Ghyoom is also particularly unique in its bad-taste presentation. The bottle feels pretty solid and heavy. One can feel quality to the touch. The sprayer is good, and the box shape and material are a lot better than what the price should allow. On the other hand, the cap is scaringly ugly and plasticky, while the flask and box colours combination is atrocious. What really matters is that the scent is really good and by no means seems cheaply made. MY OPINION: Considering the price, the fragrance must at least be described as exciting. I find it particularly fascinating that the behaviour of the fragrance is not easily tangible. This is a great compliment to its uniqueness without Ghyoom being considered super complex or the result of a mixture of very high-quality ingredients. That would be an impossible goal for the price, which stands usually for less than 20 euros for the 100ml bottle. As far as the received compliments are concerned, and regardless of the logical subjectivity of olfactory sensations, the perfume seems to be extremely well received by women. It's a masculine fragrance in every sense. My wife liked it very much from the first spray on my skin. This fact alone puts Ghyoom in the ranks because my better half is usually very critical of Middle Eastern perfumes. As for the scent itself, imagine you're by the sea, smelling the refreshing salty air. The perfume is wonderfully aquatic, fresh and slightly sweet. It shares blue and green facets and displays a very appealing blending. it is not as aggressive as Megamare and it's not a sweet pussy cat like K. Recommended? By all means! Blind purchase? Why not? If you want to experience a different and alluring aquatic marine scent for 20 Euros, that is both semi-green and semy-sweet, just jump in! It is a high quality fresh fragrance for a bargain price. MUSIC: Dulce Pontes - "Canção do Mar" ("Song from the Sea")

Recently got this out of pure curiosity as I was intrigued for its Megamare relation, which is my favourite marine fragrance and know the DNA very well, having owned the OG previously and Atlas now which is a true clone for it. And let me be clear when i say this is NOT a dupe for Megamare, atleast not entirely. It is D&G K inspired with a slight Megamare nuance; and I am happy for what it is as this gives me something new rather than being a plain Megamare or K clone. The notes mentioned are fairly accurate (becuase there is another iteration of notes which are not as correct), you get a nice blood orange and pineapple citrus at the top, off which the former comes off much stronger. There is also some sweet acidity from juniper berries that compliment the opening and mid which is musky, do not get too much of lavender here. The base is oakmoss and vetiver, with a very faint hint of sandalwood, all of which give it a nice earthy base. NOW this entire DNA has a slight undertone of seaweed, which isnt mentioned anywhere, and this coupled with muskiness is the prime link it shares with megamare DNA which isn't saying much, becuase it is NOWHERE near as salty or dark as compared to the OG. Performance is decent so far from my initial couple testings, lasts for about 5-6 hours on my skin with good projection in the first hour or slightly more. I expect the performance would get better as the scent matures eventually. To put it very simply, this is D&G K made slightly niche or Megamare made designer, choose your version. To me, this is a great addition to my collection which does not introduce redundency, something I am very happy about, especially that I got this for €18; for that this is a winner and a great option for anyone looking for a unique aquatic.

The opening is the worst part of this arab. It smells like you're being smacked by a metal plate, it's seriously smelling like pure metal in the opening, but then once it settles it's great, and it's pretty strong, so I get noseblind very fast, but every now and then I get a whiff of the drydown and I remember why I bought it. You can totally wear it in winter and fall too, I would even go as far as to say it's better for those, it's a choker of a fragrance, I tried it in summer and it was way too strong for summer. During winter and fall I get like hints of sea-salt which is crazy since I don't see it in notes, but once it's cold you can smell it. Maybe it's the chemicals mixing in the air that make it very specific for my region (it's not anywhear near sea or an ocean), but this smells really dope in winter/fall. I find it synthetic in the opening, but the drydown really nice, it's worth the buck, I got a 2023 batch and I find it strong.

Ghyoom is a pleasant characterful floral and fruity perfume. It has a good performance and comes in a heavy bottle with good quality packaging. This is a lovely one for Summer and stays really fresh and pleasing. The background notes in this make it a little different from others in this category and they appear in the dry down. *Update* To me, Ghyoom is similar to Lanvin Homme Sport. This is a quality fragrance at a bargain price.

You can smell a little bit of diluted Profumo in the opening, kind of. I don't think this is close to Megamare. Definitely different than Maison Alhambra Megara. It is a very nice summer freshie. Longevity wise it probably has to macerate, coz out of the box it does not project at all.

Sniffed this in a shop and it seemed very fresh and zesty. But started to miss the perfume while on drydown. Get it guys! It's a must have . Well rounded, unique , affordable and lil bit out of the box.

At first spray the blood oranger is really heavy, but as it is drying down the aqua notes became visible and the pinapple just stays with the scent for the whole time. It is really good

I love this cologne reminds me of banana bubble gum, from the Mexican piñatas but witha manly smell to it.

Really nice & fresh masculine fragrance perfect for hot weather. Pineapple popped in the opening but didn't last long. As it dried down, got the lavender and especially the sandalwood which makes for a very pleasant scent. Longevity is quite good - it was still going strong after 8 hours and sillage is moderate - arm's length for a couple of hours. Available at a bargain price. A very easy fragrance to like. From what I've read, this is supposed to be a better performing version of D&G Light Blue Intense. I didn't get that resemblance and compared it directly with a sample spray of Light Blue Intense on my wrist. Light Blue strikes me as a true salty aquatic while Ghyoom only has a subtle hint of that. More of a fresh breeze cooled over a large fresh water lake. I've never experienced Megamare, so can't comment on the resemblance. As I understand, "Ghyoom" means cloud in Arabic. The bottle gives that impression of clouds moving across the water.

Cold florals, mild woody aquatic and maybe some salt open this fragrance up. This is beautiful if you like smooth, thicker aquatic fragrances. This has a lot going on and will be appreciated by mature minded people. It's got an ocean breeze lightness to it even though the notes are quite pronounced. The lavender is relaxing and it feels like there's a hefty dose of calone and musk which lasts for many hours. It's gentler than Wajood or Atlas by Lattafa and sharper with more pronounced vetiver as compare to PC Chaos in the Ocean. I really like this. I think Wajood is still my favourite but my wife likes this quite a bit. Excellent value.

it's alright. fresh, but not really familiar and thus more interesting than it would be had it tried to be just another blue fragrance. I'm not sure whether the blue bottle even suits the juice inside. in any case, it's likeable enough to justify the cost without ever really being close to dethrone the other summer hitters you probably keep in your wardrobe. moderate performance, warm weather only. the green flanker, Wujood, is the actual "must buy" at that price, while Ghyoom is simply a nice addition to your already bloated collection.

Blind bought this for the summer. Top notes fade really quickly so that you are left with florals and little bit of sandal at drydown. Starts little bit Green-Sweet-Aquatic but quickly goes to Floral-Clean. Staying power is lower with this one, but when you have it on the sillage is actually quite reaching. If you want you can "overspray" this one as it is cheap under 20€. Blind buy safe and quite reliable I must say, really for any occassion ( work, date, gym). 75% Clone of K IMO.

I'll defer to @Carlitos thorough review below. But I asked my partner what they thought of Ghyoom, and she replied "It smells like a really nice laundry dryer sheet. It's got a very fresh, green and almost sea air smell to it. I like it." I tend to agree.

All that needs to be written about the frag has been already covered by Carlitos. I couldn't stomache Megamare because of the rotting seaweed undertones I was getting. This is not a clone of Megamare but rather inspired by. And I really enjoy wearing it.

This smells like a mexican cleaning product, but in a good way

Straight out of the box... this is simply not my kind of scent. I can’t pick up the pineapple note at all, and the blood orange doesn’t smell the way I remember it either—it feels off and somewhat artificial. I’ve done quite a few blind buys over time, but this is easily the one I regret the most. With so many great summer fragrance options available, and considering brands like Zimaya, Armaf, and Rasasi offer far better compositions at similar or even lower price points, I honestly think even trying this one is a waste of time. It supposed resemblance to D&G K is also very questionable. I wouldn’t even want to put a precise percentage on it, but if we’re calling other clones around 80% accurate, this barely reaches 60% in terms of DNA—and that’s being generous. No matter how cheap it is (I got mine for around €16), there are definitely much better summer fragrances out there. Save your money and your expectations. (Will see how it'll develop after some maceration.)

This just came in this opens up almost like ADG Profumo then dries into I guess would be a salty aquatic I never smelled megamare but this is very nice for summer
