Camel

Camel is a perfume that deserves a “review” every time it’s worn. So here is another one of my many reviews on this camel comment section: Camel isn’t a perfume you associate with a person or a mood, but rather a place... an event, or something along those lines. The way I’m gonna word this is weird, but it’s almost too magnificent of a smell for an average person to wear (I dont mean people shouldn’t wear this, it’s just so breathtaking that it seems unworthy of the average person to be able to walk around with this scent). You know those videos that show off a place’s good side without ever showing their bad side? Zoologist camel is like someone’s biased video on the Middle East. When you smell camel, you’re transported into the desert in the Middle East. You smell the dryness of the sand, the resins, and the cinnamon. The heat from the sun is almost present here... it’s incredible. But then the sweetness comes in– a plethora of dried fruits being hauled by camel through the sand. But there’s more.... The smell of the oud smoke that people apply each day wafts lightly, but noticeably through the air mixing perfectly with that animalic funk, dryness, and sweet jammy fruit aroma lingering in the air. It gets even better though! The cinnamon begins to rise up in the mid. It’s dry and sweet, but soft and light at the same time. The rose, dried fruits, and resins complement each other better than any other group of notes I’ve smelled. The rose increases the jam-like smell and texture of the perfume, while the dried fruits keep the rose grounded and utterly intoxicating, and the resins keep everything a little bit sweet, dusty, and dry. Guess what? It gets even better. While all of those things are going on all at once, vanilla and tonka bean enter the room. They bring a light and creamy sweetness to the base to keep the perfume from being overly dry, spicy, animalic, or woody. And of course, through the entirety of the perfumes lifespan, the smoothest and highest quality amber note hums a smooth tune and amplifies every note to do what they were meant to do. Why is camel so impressive? Every note, accord, and experience is so intentional. Each note works together, all holding each other back from becoming too dominant, while all supporting each other to help them do what they do best. There is no “80% this, 20% that”, everything seems perfectly equal and balanced. Adding on to that, this is so smooth, so high quality, and so realistic smelling that it feels like an insult to call this piece of art a “perfume”. It really is an experience, and it’s my favorite piece of art that I have ever experienced. Opens with a scent that makes sense for a camel (in a good way). It doesn't smell like an animal, but it's got a scent that produces mental pictures of desserts, camels, and the classical oud-rose combination. And it's an oud-rose that brings something special. There is a lot of mystique and depth to it. Animalic notes also makes it something to behold. It's got a clear "middle eastern" or "arabic" feel/vibe. Like previously mentioned, it's an oud-rose fragrance. But there are the dried fruits and dates, combining with vanilla to give a fruity sweetness. At the same time you get the incense, olibanum, and myrrh that all show up throughout the first 30 minutes. Rose and jasmine gives a floral accord that is Very attractive and almost clean. A perfect contrast to the animalic background. Towards the drydown, i get a soapy clean note for about 1-2 hours. It shows up out of nowhere and is very reminiscent of the shaving soap "Tabac Original", for those with experience with it. It does have a moist tobacco scent for a while. As it reaches true dry down, it settles down with oud, rose, myrrh, and jasmine. It's now a beautiful and Very rich scent, fit for a prince. All in all, this fragrance just impresses the hell out of me. It goes through so meny changes, and it brings me along on a trip across the middle eastern sand dunes, and all the way into the middle eastern markets. A wonderful experience, and a very wearable fragrance. Where: Although it can be worn casual. I feel like it's so rich and bold, it deserves semi- formal to full formal wear. Weddings, special nights out with your partner, important meetings at work. Stuff like that. Although it's a great casual wear as well. When: Fall, winter, and spring. I think it's too dense for summer, although rose-oud is a common summer fragrance in some places. For most of us, it's too much. Day or night, but i'd prefer night. Who: It leans masculine but not too masculine. Will probably be a little off-putting to the teen/early 20's noses. Personal score: 9/10. This is a legendary status fragrance. It's evolving and moving around constantly. It's got high quality ingredients, a rich scent, and it smells like something a king would wear. I'm 100% getting a full bottle of this. Highly recommended to sample.

I did just order a bottle from Lucky Scent. It's very well blended, wearable, and satisfying Oriental. The fragrance accords are masterful. There is an unusual anamalic aspect that's a pleasant piquant note to the composition; typical of Zoologist frags. I dont have any sweet Orientals. I normally dont like sweet. I think the sweetness of the fruit here, (not too sweet) balances the camel funkiness. I like Camel, because it did hit me as exotic, and something funky, like a camel may smell like; but in a good way. It's complex, mature, incensy, earthy, spicy, floral. I like the florals a lot, but they are minor in comparison to the whole composition. Its not a "Floral Oriental", but they are a nice touch for sure. The floral is mostly an indolic jasmine that makes a wonderful fragrance accord with the resins, smoothing out the fragrance. Yeah, its much better, and more wearable than Lutens Arabie. This is less sweet and fruit dominant. PS: After having got a bottle and trying again, I did notice the Oud which is not the band-aid kind, nor the fecal kind, but like M-7. The oud is very nice, but just adds to the exotic feel in an accord. Its hard to pick it out, it wont smell like an Oud fragrance. Rating: 8.75/10. (best Zoologist fragrance so far) God bless. Update: first of all agree with torayumex regarding the comparison with Ambre Sultan, well Camel wins easely!!!!! Ambre is very powdery in my opinion, while Camel is a real journey trough the desert and the Bazar in Oriental countries. I just got the full bottle even though on my the longevity is very long because I can't stop to think about this fragrance. Can't wait to have it!!! I bought two samples of Camel from the website. My impressions are very contrasting. First I can smell something very sweet, of course dates and dried fruits and personally I do not love so much because to me is too sweet. Second after, more or less, 30 mins I can smell very clearly Myrhh, but I can't smell Incense at all, unfortunately, because I like it so much in perfumes. The longevity is very weak, after 2/3 hours disappear from my skin and for that reason I am not sure that worth the money. Agree with those say that smell like a Camel.. I spent many time in Dubai and I can confirm that, but honestly this aspect of the perfume I like because is not too animalic and give personality at the fragrance. I think I will wait until the end of my samples before decide if buy the full bottle or not.

First impression (on skin): Soapy, clean, woody, dry, incense, musky, flowery, spicy At first, I wasn't sure what I was smelling. It was a strong beginning, almost soapy, like detergent, which initially put me off. As it settled, I could smell incense, something woody and musky, maybe slightly more masculine-leaning. This review is sparse as I personally struggle to describe the scent in a way that does it justice and I'm unfamiliar with a few of the notes - but it’s delicious, alluring, warm, and spicy. It grew quickly on me and settled amazingly over time; I found myself continuously sniffing my arm through the day, I was kind of addicted tbh 😂 The notes are well-blended and complement each other nicely - I didn't find that any note overpowered the other. I think it's one of the “safer” perfumes from Zoologist to wear out, not too animalic (I'm not sure why some reviews complain about “polarizing” animalic or urine notes - it wasn't like that at all for me). Very agreeable and versatile, although I'd say it's a nicer autumn and winter scent. Camel was a very powerful fragrance. I was smelling it prominently for about 1 hour after application, and catching glimpses of it frequently for about 5 hours after. I then stopped getting any smell in my wrist, but my chest maintained the smell all throughout the day. It is still a highly enjoyable fragrance which smelt similar on paper than it did on my skin. The incense was noticeable and more complex, with the smell of dates and other rich fruits being quite more readable than they were on the paper, perhaps from my continued exposure to it. I kept wanting to sniff my wrist through the morning, and I felt confident in my smell, definitely a great one for the November weather. I wish I had asked someone what they thought of it but I rarely interact with people in my position so I couldn’t. Second application cemented that I loved the fragrance and would buy it if I had more money. However, I currently already own Hugo Boss The Scent and Azzaro Wanted by Night, which to me have a similar scent profile but with less complexity, although this is a great buy if youre looking for something in the warm spices field, but I likely wont be purchasing a full bottle.

🪲 I almost dont want to rate this as a perfume that I love, but I do. I do love it. It's actively making me cry and its an incredibly strange experience to be writing a review through tears. 🪲 When I first sprayed it, these are the notes I wrote down: Dirty, but in a way thats expected. It smells like a hippie store. like my mother. like yiayia. it smells like animals and dried fruit. the smell of a farmers market. Unmistakable undertone of animal fur and musk, but almost mixed with how i remember Chanel no.5 to smell on my yiayia. 🪲 Its animalistic, yet floral. The dried fruit smell is there, but to me it smells like someone who was recently eating some sort of chocolate covered dried fruit mix. Like the smell of the breath as they talk to you. I imagine this would be better in winter or autumn, as opposed to the hot weather I've tried it in. 🪲 I feel almost like im being pretentious in the way I review this, but the smell is genuinely causing so many emotions in me. This is something that I feel a genuine need to buy a full bottle of, and I've never had that feeling as strongly as this before.

Animalic in the best possible way! It opens as an oriental Amber/Musk fruit scent with an Incense/Myrhh aura, which will eventually evolve into an animalic sweet delight. People saying the drydown smells similar to urine, actually get it right, such an accord comes from the blend of Civet and Olibanum... in the fragrance world strange and pungent accords are all around... fecal ouds, dirty musks, grimy leathers... and all of them have a place in this world... it’s only in the expert hands of a master perfumer that this accords come to life as art. And that’s what happens in this perfume... one of the weirdest possible accords is masterfully and deliciously reinterpreted and incorporated into the juice. Camel not only references the Middle Eastern settings in which this beast actually lives, with the Dried Fruits, Dates, Incense and Myrhh, but also the true scents of the animal in itself. It’s completely unisex, and wearable all year round, maybe with the only exception of very warm days. Longevity is about 6 hours, with intimate projection throughout. A very interesting and delicious perfume.

Camel is an amazing adventure. On my skin the dried fruit and the olibanum make an irresistible combo, really outstanding! Furthermore, the olibanum, myrrh an incense dominate, which I love. Of course this doesn't smell like a camel, but like what I imagine some Middle-Eastern markets would smell, with all the resins and spices on offer. In the top notes I can barely (sometimes) smell the rose. I don't think I smell the white flowers on the middle notes, and I can detect a faint vanilla behind all the spices and resins in the dry down. Cinnamon is very present but does not dominate, it just gives a special spiciness to the whole symphony of notes. It smells rich, opulent and exotic. Zoologist is fast becoming my favorite indie/niche house, and Camel may very well be one of its best offerings. As always, try before you buy, because Zoologist's fragrances push boundaries and are not similar to the regular offerings out there (specially designer ones).

I’m really annoyed so this not a review, this is my opinion piece. This perfume is everything I want, yet nothing I need. Explanation: it is fruity sweet, it is balsamic and tart, it is softly woody, lightly animalic, it is slightly green bittersweet. BUT!! It DOES NOT LAST WHATSOEVER! Now, of course, feel free to blame my dry skin and bad skin chemistry. But i did try it in various conditions and not much changed. I wish my life smelled like this. I truly do! Unfortunately, for the price you pay, I’m afraid you will be wasting your money on this perfume. Get Fille en Aiguille if you want lasting candied fruit and balsamic greens. Or maybe Arabie, also by Lutens. Apparently Camel is very similar (I haven’t tried Arabie but I trust Serge to make a long lasting and enjoyable scent). So yeah, unless you have money to spend on a weak juice that will fade within the first hour of applying it, get something else 😔

Muscled, rippling skin of the beast carrying spices through the desert heat. Lutens-like dried fruit and incense. But the base feels very old, like an exotic scent from a distant age. And I feel a bit silly for not recognizing that bygone-age quality as coming from civet, but it’s blended-in and the notes all arise out of that bedding, unlike scents like Kouros and Figment Man where the civet sits a bit separate and can really jump out at you. But when my partner recently smelled Figment Man on me, she said, “that smells like Camel!” and I was taken aback. I needed to wear Camel again today to wrap my head around it. The musky animalic quality is slightly cloying, but also very cozy, like a warm but scratchy wool blanket. I love to snuggle into this fragrance for the day and it’s my most-worn Zoologist.

This is one of those perfumes that broadened my horizons regarding the genre. I am actually quite familiar with scents of this style, yet this one is certainly far from ordinary. The moment you spray it, it opens with a magnificent aroma of dates and dried fruits. I can also clearly detect the civet note right from the start; for me, civet is a very warm, alluring note, and it accompanies the fragrance throughout its entire lifespan—here, it has been utilized with great mastery. The most prominent notes for me are dates and dried fruits (I believe these two are what evoke the atmosphere of a Middle Eastern market), along with myrrh and civet. While the projection and performance could have been better for a fragrance with this DNA, the scent itself is truly wonderful. It is an intriguing creation.

I've tried quite a few of zoologist samples now and I wasn't very excited for Camel, but I'm pleasantly surprised by it. The first minute is a bit animalic, it smells kind of like sun warmed animal hair/fur. Not in a funky or dirty way, but like petting a dog that's been laying in the sun on a summer day. It doesn't last long though. On my skin this smells predominantly like incense, but not in a strong overpowering way like incense often is. In the middle the sticky sweet dates and dried fruits shine through. After a few hours it dries down to a warm, sweet amber. Looking at the notes listed I was convinced I wouldn't like this, but I actually think this might be my favorite zoologist fragrance so far. Very wearable and beautiful.

Camel came to me by surprise; I just had ordered a couple of samples to try Elephant and to my surprise Victor, as kind as always, had slipped a sample of Camel too...You can imagine how delighted I was...I didn't even know it was Zoologist forthcoming creation! I think this is another wonder coming from the alliance Victor and Christian Carbonnel (creator of Zoologist Panda 2017 or Naughty Panda as I prefer to call it :-)); its an experience in which dried fruits, roses and an animalic hint mix together to take you to the north of Africa inside a Berber tent. I really think Camel can be among the best (again) in the Art&Olfaction awards, it would be a pleasure to see again this wonderful person in the great final.

Sooooo beautiful. At first when I was spraying it on the sample card, I was definitely getting ferret cage. That was almost enough for me to not even risk putting it on, but on skin it's incredibly gorgeous. Sweet, spicy, animalic, and warm. Reminds me of Jazz Club, but while that fragrance's smokiness stems from its tobacco note, this one's comes from its incense note. I love that I'm able to smell it on myself throughout the day and that it lasts decently long, I'd say for the majority of my work day. My partner ordered Dodo from this perfumer, which to me is the most perfect masculine counterpart to this fragrance. It's such a gorgeous, sexy pairing!

One of the best discoveries for me this year and I can’t believe it took me this long to finally look into this house. What a beautiful perfume this is, it hints at taking you out on a cool evening by the deserts but without smelling Middle Eastern by any means. Such a friendly animalic perfume that’s embodied by dried fruits, resins and incense mingling together. The civet and oud listed in this is so laid back and relaxed that makes it very wearable but the overall creation screams class and elegance. Definitely a special perfume for the special evening, a complete love for me and I simply can’t wait to dig my nose into others from the brand!

Camel used to be one of my least liked Zoologist's perfumes, because it didn't "last" on me or maybe because I got rapidly anosmic when wearing it. So, I tended to no wear it often, although I've had it for about 5 years. I wore it yesterday, and this has been a whole new experience for me (I don't know why); not only I didn't go anosmic on Camel, it lasted all (my working) day! I don't know what changed, but Camel was there, all day, creating a great scent bubble around me; the myrrh, the olibanum, the dates and dried fruits, and the civet. I can finally say I love it and not just "like" it. Big, major love from me 👍👍👍👍

Starts out a little bit feminine with the prominent rose note. The ambery middle and dry down are quite beautiful. The orange blossom is also pretty prominent to my nose and gives a citrusy feel to the amber. Gets a little bit soapy at times; I think this is probably coming from the musks. All in all a pretty and complex oriental amber. Edit: I decided to come back and update my review because this has become one of my favorite scents. It smells exotic and luxurious without coming off as though you're trying to smell exotic and luxurious. Makes you smell like a distinguished diplomat back from the Mid East.

I ordered about 10 samples from Zoologist last year and fell in love with Hummingbird, Cow and Chameleon. Camel was one of the dislikes. Yesterday I took out all of my spring scents including my Zoology samples and on a whim decided to wear Camel for the day. Was rather blown away, this time around I am adoring it. Seems to really work well on my skin, and I normally do not like Amber or incense and myrhh type notes, let alone animalic notes like civet! In this perfume it somehow just works! This scent blooms in the heat gorgeously and I get the dried fruits, not too sweet as in Sticky Dates. Swooning now!

This is such a luxurious smell, but it’s wildly not what I imagined. What I expected to be simply dried fruits and civet (which terrified me) was instead a dry, almost mystical scent. It reminds me of the botanicas I’d visit as a kid, where the shelves were lined with incense and Florida water. I was so scared of the civet smell, fearing I’d smell like an animal in a bad way, but as it lingers on my skin, it’s not really noticeable. Still, this is such a great scent, not sticky or cloyingly sweet, deeply rich with plenty of depth. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5

DEFINITELY UNEXPECTED SWEET SURPRISE💥🤩 It's such a soft fruity woody musk that at this point its cashmeran. This fragrance makes me want to fall asleep and wake up to soft kisses💋 With the incense notes, I feel safe wearing this perfume, like a good hug after going through a tough time. As weird as I would say, if there's a conflict in the marriage, this perfume can help bring closeness and intimacy within the relationship. Exceptionally blended and deep. So many of the notes come through. It is a bold scent, and would need to be worn at the right time, in the right place. You would need to be dressed up and have the confidence and charisma to match this perfume. Not a blind buy, will sit differently on different people. For me as it sits, it leans into the tonka and musk which is quite nice and non-offensive, but it seems for others the animalic note can come out and it gets fecal. I don't get any of that myself, and got some compliments on this one.

A masterpiece from zoologist and one of the fewest "mass appealing" scent from this house, it's still quite difficult to pull it off and definently not a safe blind buy but still I love the sweet ambers, the animalic inciense. Florals are almost invisible on this scent you might get hinta but you'll get more of the dried fruits to be honest. you can also watch my review on it in tiktok @One-Whiff_Fragrance to me this literally takes you to a market district in Egypt back when the pharaos still reign over.

More of a risky wear if you don't want to stick out too much; this one is weird and people will certainly ask about it if they smell you! Warm, sunny, with sweet fruits, rose, olives, myrrh and some animalic stank in the drydown. Unlike most zoologist fragrances, this one actually smells shockingly like the animal it is describing, not just its diet or habitat. My kittens LOVE the smell of this stuff. I tend to reach for this when I am feeling confident, sexy, or longing to smoke a hookah.

I have been on the Desert riding a camel. I won't say smells just like it but is absolutely 100% evocative of that experience. Smells like you are riding the camel and you get that strong animal scent (not poopy, skunk or pissy just animal coat)of the camel coat mixed with delicious fruits, spices, the delicious sweet scent of the desert sand that release under the heat of the sun. Absolutely amazing scent but it's not for everyone you need to have a specific type of nose and preference.

I thought I hated this one because on paper the dry down was very strong urine smell for me. But I saw many reviews saying it was nice and so I thought best to try on my skin. Out of the animalistics from zoologist I have tried (t rex, tiger, rhino) I think camel is the one I would wear. T rex is very strong and polarizing, tiger too subtle for me, and rhino is a hell no.... I'm not great at describing scents....but I would defo recommend people do a wear test before writing it off

Going to echo Tolkashutka on the notes and progression - her description is accurate as far as I can tell. Really reminds me of picking up cedar Christmas wreaths with Mom when I was a kid. But in contrast to the second half of the previous review, I really like this! Very much a three wisemen, photorealistic nativity barnyard scene smell in the best way. My go to now for December days. It's bearably sweet in a dry way, with juuust enough scent bubble and skank to satisfy.

very realistic environment. Immidiately took me to a desert with camels. Dried fruits also present, perhaps the camels are eating them? SOMEWHAT of a shampoo sent (not soapy, but like a fragranted shampoo) scent in there, but overall incredible environment. Scent-wise its a winter scent. But as long as you are alone, wear it during summer to be immersed... Would i wear this normally? NO! Would i wear this for the emmersion? YES. It does its job perfectly. Love-

I have reviewed this before but I’m coming back to say that after my 6th wearing of zoologist camel, it’s my favorite fragrance of all time. If it lasted longer and projected a bit more on my skin, I think I would pay $400 for a bottle of this. This perfume is like if someone took everything I’ve ever wanted in a fragrance and made it happen. One of the few 10/10’s I’ve ever given (along with winter nights by dasein... possibly guerlain’s vetiver parfum too)

Honestly I am yet to find a scent that can top this one. If I run out of this bottle I immediately get a new one. The scent is not for everybody, yet almost everyone gives me a compliment when I wear it. Its a beautiful spicy scent with a a strong Arabian incense note. It reminds me of the old Arabian perfumes growing up that my grandma used to wear. I sometimes just sniff the bottle cap whenever I come across it, its that good for me Worth every penny!

Warm intoxicating dates and spices, this is not the smell off a camel, this is The scent off a dream, dammit do i love zoologists perfumes, i think ppl are expecting the perfumes to smell like The animal, this is not a sideshow gimick, Its a work off spicy art!! Apting for The rout off Warm blistering Sunny amber and brings go mind a caravan transporting spices in the dessert, the dates are juicy and plump giftig a sweetnes so well balanced and natural

Opens frankincense and soft rose. Followed up by dried fruits giving a not sweet but fruity undertone. Cinnamon warms up and provides a greater dryness, alongside a soft powdery jasmine. This is ultimately dry, rich, lightly floral and spicy/fruity. It's very balanced, and quite nice. A too of the zoologist I've tried, overall an incredibly pleasant experience. I feel it captures a kind of desert Sunset with a warm breeze kind of vibe.

Love at first sniff! It opened like a cherry liqueur but developed into an alluring scent trail reminiscent of a bazaar. It evokes a dry expanse with that amazing scent trail of delights. On me, it is the best combination of resins, spices, fruits, incense and leather. Bottle worthy. On my beloved, it turned sharp. I guess we won't be sharing. I'm wearing it in a hot humid environment and look forward to testing it in cooler climes.

This fragrance absolutely stunned me. Even thought it's not listed as a note, I get incense combined with a beautiful sweetness on the opening. Each note is balanced perfectly with one another, and they have a wonderful interplay that is just delightful. Unfortunately on me I found that it dried down to almost nothing! It was really short lasting, only a few hours and then I could barely smell anything except for a subtle amber.

SURPRISE, whatever you think this is going to be, it's BETTER. This is the first perfume where my partner and I smelled it and agreed it would suit either one of us just fine. Camel layered with a nice vanilla body oil would absolutely ---kill--- if you wanted to make it more feminine. It's dark, sweet, with a bit of smoke on the back end. Lingers for a LONG time. A keeper. Would definitely buy a full size. 9.3/10

Oh, this one is gorgeous...to me, the opening is a sandalwood/incense bomb that takes you straight to Arabia. Next comes the spiced fruits, which dry to become increasingly resinous and ambery. Unfortunately, on my skin I don't even get a whiff of the animalic notes that are so overpowering to everyone else...maybe I need to spray a little heavier. Just a beautiful scent to keep you warm in winter.

Sprayed on paper and loved the scent in the first five mins. But got the urine scent come through but less intense to the rhino. I am currently exploring different scent profiles a s I know animalistic is more miss than hit for me. I thought I might be ok to try this one as I love zoologists civet perfume, thinking Civet note is ok for me. I can't bare to try on my skin to see how it dries down.

One of the best and most interesting offerings from Zoologist. To those complaining about its longevity - let it macerate properly in a dark, cool environment for a few weeks. It will become more rich and long lasting. It may never project well but remember that this is an extrait and as with most extraits they don’t project well due to such high oil concentration. 8/10 for me.

I totally get the comparison to Guerlain Encens mythique, but I like this far better. Comparatively, this is heavier with more of a sweet-spicy/dried fruit note, and the animalics make it lean towards masculine, whereas I found EM to be decidedly feminine on my skin. It’s a little honeyed, but my nose doesn’t really get any strong barnyard/dromedary section of the zoo notes.

I don't know what to say really. This perfume is simply great and magical. There is no funk in it for me, and I'm not an oriental fragrance gal. It's soapy clean - incense - floral - fruity with warm fuzzy spice. Light, airy and easy to breathe it during hours long. And it gets my heart beat faster when I put it on. This Zoologist is simply amazing. I'm at a loss for words to describe this beautifully blended masterpiece! The sillage and longevity on my skin are both great and it smells like you're in the middle of the desert eating sweet dates and dried fruit. The animalic note that you can smell in the base note is just right. This scent is just perfect, definitely worth buying!

Let it sit, let it Marinate. Wood boxes with incense and resin in it, dried grasses. A little bit of animal but it's clean animals, dry animals, fur. It's a very dry fragrance overall really, not sticky. So happy this didn't end up sweet. It actually gives the sense of a really dehydrated heat in the desert after a while on my skin. Ugh, fabulous.

I'm sorry to not appreciate this scent, the camel on the sample I got is so adorable. The scent is not bad but just one that I wouldn't reach for. I can smell the myrrh. Incense and civet and I think those are the notes that don't have me jumping for joy over this scent. Love the more hothouse tropical scents in the Zoologist family.

Smells like a cedar box full of memories. Old rolling tobacco, a dried rose from a special event, coins from places your grandparents visited when you were a child, a few old books of matches, a ring that is crusty with tarnish, a brooch and a pendant on a dried leather cord among other knickknacks and treasures.

Camel Zoologist Perfumes – 9/10 This one really caught me off guard. I was expecting something darker or more dry and animalic, but it turned out to be super sweet in the best way. Totally not what I had in mind, but it smells so fancy and unique. I really, really recommend trying it. I love it.

Camel is a sleeper. Its one of my most worn even tho I wouldnt say its my favorite scent from zoologist. Its warmly spicy with dried fruit and honey. Its insanely wearable and the sweet smell will have you reapplying not because the sillage is weak but because its just that delicious of a scent.

I was most keen to smell Camel, so I got a decant. This is dark fruit, resin, warm, spicey and has a light jammy floral and animalic halo. I really enjoy this, it's lasted all day on skin. It's unique and tells a story of a camel travelling through spice markets. I'd buy a full bottle of this!

Camel delivers on the concept behind it. Dry and spicy. Gives the feeling of traveling the Silk Road in ancient times, laden with spices and dates. Slightly animalic, but not overly so. If you can get past the opening, which is pretty loud, you're in for a nice trip on the trade route.

Gorgeous profile in an animalic way! Ambery-fruity-bright-sweet-animalic where civet is the magic touch from my perspective. Opening is complex and deep, with a more tamed dry down. Skin scent with lacklustre performance though. Unisex for winters and evening wear. Shukran Habibi!
