Hummingbird

This is simply incredible, I am so happy I didn't let the fruity part scare me away from it. It's so unique, exotic and paradisiac! It's a Garden of Eden scent, makes you think of the most precious ambrosia! With this one people will remember you, smelling this in the air...I would follow that person for sure...and who will suspect you are wearing the honeyed breath of an hummingbird? In this perfume we have a blend of ripe fruits that smells unusually etherial meeting a kaleidoscope of vivid and honeyed flowers full of nectar and essence, but you don't have a sickly sweet result because all of this rests on a fluffy base of clean, almost detergent like musk, with the comfort of creamy and dry sandalwood and an edge of airy oakmoss. Like a cocoon or a bed of feathers (ouch!). I think they took the best of both fruity and floral world, the effect of the fruits is sweet but also clean, it smells a bit candy-ish but as if there is no added sugar, as if it comes directly from the fruits, even the honey is so well blended, it doesn't smell like a perfume with added honey but like flowers that are already naturally full of honeyed facets and nectar. And the flowers are strong, pure essence mode. It smells natural, very natural with nothing "fake" about it, and airy and gentle and good. Of course the inspiration was the hummingbird and its habitat, which I think delightful! This paints a picture in vivid colors, and as many pepole before me said it smells like a lush, paradisiac garden full of fruit's tree and flowers, lots of zingy and mellow vegetation and, of course, many colored birds enjoying their gifts...it could be that time of the year when spring truly blends in to summer and all the flowers become honeyed, their colors turn from pastel to vivid, and lush and full of contrast, the hot humidity exudes their narcotic essence in the air. I wonder...is this more or less how the world of a little spring hummingbird would smell like? Would seem like? Would they really dream of sun, honey, flowers and freedom when they return to their little cocoon nest? The tought alone brings tears to my eyes, with a mix of sadness and joy. The vibes are etherial, pure, feminine and good, even when the flowers turn a little heady, exotic and carnal this still manages to convey a benevolent, kind-hearted, gentle character. More playfulness then filtry. However, if I imagine this on men things turn sexy, really sexy...I imagine the contrast of the narcotic flowers with an assured menly character, that for me is sexy more so then leather and fougeres. Away flies the shyness of an hummingbird and things get really wanton and delicious. If we detach it from its name, the concept and imagery on which it was based, this is still incredibile unique to me! It does have an 80's hairdresser studio vibe, at the time those places where full of clientele chewing fruity gums, the air soaked with the scented hairspray they used to keep in place poufy feathered hair, all those strong florals eau de parfums, and the outlandish clothes in bright color blocks and vivid contrasts. This scent even remainds me the color the furniture used to have in those places...they did makeup too and it was full of bright colors! I have at home some vintage 80's furniture belonging to such salons, particulary a big illuminated plastic toilette, with space to store makeup, and it has a huge bright violet lighting bolt on it!!! Things were so vivid and bright then, I often imagined how that place would have smelled like... I can see so much of it in Hummingbird! Between the blend of fruits that take a banana/melon/grape bubblegum-candy turn, the ultra feminine flowers that should be delicate but come forth as vivid, heady and exotic, a mix between girly and full on fur coated woman mode, I see so much of the 80's imagery it in it, but it is of course a sort of revival since it smells modern and natural to me. Probably I like it so much because it remainds me of the style of some of my favorites Lush Cosmetics perfumes, in particular Fantabulosa (first called Lady Boy), Hairdresser's Husband, Dad's Garden Chamomile and Honeysuckle, and the dry down is all Floro by Jeroboam, it has the same combination of mossy and clean musk and creamy sandalwood that Jeroboam often uses, and those too are between my favorites. With works such as this it is pointless to to talk about notes and what specific of it we capture, it is so well blended and has so many notes, maybe it is the overall effect that counts but as usual I like to pick scents apart, so here is what I specifically smell in Hummingbird: of the opening fruits I can clearly pick up the plum, the pear and the apple, if I search for them individually I can find them but the overall blends of fruits smells to me like a mix of canteloupe (orange melon), yellow melon and a bit of banana, with a somewhat bubblegum effect probably impartet by the cherry, but everything remains light, etherial and non sweetened thanks to florals like rose, lilly of the vally and liliac, truly diaphanous in here, most delicate and gentle; there is an unmistakable violet leaf component with all its magic which adds a green and lush sensation, it energize everything beautifully. I must add that initially there was a fruity note so ripe it almost smelled turned, but luckly it mellowed in to a grape facet, very pleasing, reminiscent of the must from which wine is made, something fermented. When this fruity, candy, almost bubblegum effect settles a bit the flowers start to shine, but the transition is organic thanks to the honey. Pear and apple become more clear and give way to some seriously gorgeous flowers. Their blend is paradisiac, I tell you! They smell so honeyed, feminine, classy and narcotic with an exotic edge. They are sweet for sure but never sickening or artificial. Some of the violet leaf can still be felt near them. What I can pick up most of all from this yellow vivid bouquet is the mimosa, full of pollen, from which some light powdery aspect come forward, the tulip in all its honeyed glory, and the honeysuckle, strong, heady and lightly vanillic. Peony and ylang-ylang are toned down on my skin, from the ylang comes a tropical and exotic vibe, very warm. As I said before all the flowers in this fragrance smell as if they are full of honey, nectar and pollen on their own, they are very well blended with the honey; if I try and isolate it to me it feels more like acacia honey (the one made with black locust), very different from the usual crystal, sugary "milleflora" honey. It has a central role for sure but it is masterfully used, never sickening or going in to gourmand/edible territory. This blend of flowers and honey remainded me very much of wild brown violets and of lobularia maritima, some of the most beautiful honeyed wild flowers I had the pleasure of smelling, they are wild in the sense that almost pass for unwanted weeds. There is a mix of heady, carnal and exotic components in the flowers but innocence prevails. In terms of colors they smell majorly yellow, touched by some brown and tangerine, with flashes of amaranth and green, some white in the mix on an amber colored base. I think the flowers are more potent then the fruits, but after their warm and vivid flush it almost seems like some of the initial fruitiness returns, just a touch of apple and pear, and for a moment with the whipped cream in the base they create a sort of fruity smoothe effect. This slight creaminess fades in to fluffy clean musk and creamy, dry sandalwood. I was expecting a tonka sweet, lactonic dry down but insted it smells almost like detergent clean, like fabrics conditioner, with an edge from the light airy amber and oakmoss. I think it was a genious direction instead of going on sweet territory because the effect is strangely comforting and reassuring, it envelops you, it has the safe and familiar sense of a warm, clean and soft blanket, you are at home... just like like the hummingbirds returning in their little house nest build with green musks and licheni, after a day spent between flowers and nectar. The effect is like a cocoon, seriously conforting detergent musk, soft fabrics meets warm sandalwood, airy oakmoss sets it all free. The result is modern and unique. About performance I can say it is very potent initially, with a strong sillage for the first hours that turns in to moderate, and it's intense. Lasting power was not that great, six or seven hours maximum, at this price I would have prefered an extract endurance but I don't care that much to be honest, I still love it. I think it is a gem and well worth the money, lovers of fruits and honeyed flowers must try this... it will not disappoint you, but consider that it is strong and unique. Packaging is gorgeous, with the hummingbird portrait and the way they dressed it! I wish they would make a colorful version of it, a special edition like they made for many others. Do not be scared of the perfumes in this line, yes many have animalic and strong earthy bases, but most of them are very much wearable and beautiful. Think of all the ones they dedicated to flying animals, but also Panda, Seahorse, Chameleon, Chipmunk...gorgeous, those of Zoologist are almost the only fruity perfumes worth wearing in my opinion (and maybe some of Lorenzo Pazzaglia). I like their Bat and Tiger too, and I am hoping with all my heart they will make a cat based one. Edit: all the photo on Fragrantica for this scent are gorgeous specially the ones with the vivid flowers and the plumage, this smells exactly like those colors!

NECTAR OF THE GODS. Hummingbird is a beautiful little winged angel! I am saving up for a full bottle, as I have drained my decant. This has similar florals to Jessica McClintock, but this is not nearly as sharp. The notes that I can detect are the citrus and maybe some apple, LOTV, lilac, honeysuckle, peony, honey, and musk. (I am actually grateful that the cherry and plum are only supporting characters, because I think they could have ruined it. Same goes for the rose.) There is also a prominent beeswax note that is not listed here. And that waxiness rounds off the sharp edges of the citrus and white florals and evokes a comforting, nostalgic feeling. Without it, this would probably be a bit too much for me because, while she is a little angel, she is also a BEAST! Performance is not an issue. I also think that honeyed waxy note is what makes this stand out in the vast sea of white floral fragrances. I really feel like this is a unique and stunning masterpiece, and while it is expensive, this is the kind of fragrance that is worth every penny. I will wear her proudly every spring and summer. I have so many spring/summer fragrances, but truly none can hold a candle to her--she simply sings! One reviewer suggested that this a more mature fragrance, while another called it a cheap teenager scent (absurd). While I don't think the fragrance smells mature, I do feel like only someone who grew up when you played outside all day in the summer and didn't come home until it was time for dinner and/or the sun went down would appreciate or find this scent comforting. I cannot imagine a teenager wanting to wear this, save for the quiet girl with glasses reading a Jane Austen novel. Does she still exist? I hope so--I used to be her.

I bought a sample of this in a group with 7 other samples, and I want to try the others, but I just keep coming back to this one because I like it so much! It's sweet, for sure, and a little fruity; the most prominent notes are honey and nectar, and as others have said, there's definitely a pollen-y vibe. There is a bit of a synthetic edge to it at the beginning, but that goes away fast. I don't get that much that's specifically floral from it, but it's definitely floral-adjacent. Very warm, rich, summery, and alive. Hummingbird is a good name for it, but an equally apt name would be Ambrosia. It's definitely a crowd-pleaser. I've received multiple compliments on it from different people, including one who usually doesn't like florals. It lasts a pretty long time, too--I wore it to bed last night, and I could still smell it when I woke up in the morning. The one con of this perfume is that it's quite linear; after the few minutes it takes for the initial artificial fruity edge to go away, it's straight honey and nectar for 6-12 hours. On the other hand, I like the honey and nectar so much that I don't think I would want it to change over time. I can't imagine what it could evolve into that wouldn't be a downgrade. Overall, incredible. I will definitely buy a full bottle. Edit: I sprayed this while a friend was over and she asked if anyone else smelled purple Jolly Ranchers. Make of that what you will.

I initially bought a sample of this and have since purchased a full bottle! I’m very impressed by the diversity of floral notes in the perfume once you initially apply it; I find that some perfumes touting a long list of florals can turn into a one-note, generic ‘flower’ smell. I don’t get much of the apple or pear, but as it dries down I can definitely smell the honeysuckle and honey. Surprisingly, I find it pretty pleasant. Maybe it’s just me, but sometimes scents with honey smell soapy and a little artificial, like the decorative soap bars that your mom or grandma would scold you for touching. I think this smells pretty fresh, though, and maybe that’s because I’m smelling the honeysuckle more than the honey. I’m not going to lie, though, when sprayed on paper the base notes smell like straight sunscreen. When applied to my skin, though, it just smells lightly sweet and pleasant. My guess is that the combination of whipped cream and musk evokes sunscreen when sprayed onto paper. The musk smells much more natural and it's a lot less noticeable when I wear it on my skin. Like the other Zoologist perfumes I’ve sampled, this is long-lasting without being too strong or overpowering. I’d love to compare this to their other florals sometime, but I wasn’t able to snag a sample of Bee or Nightingale or anything.

There's a decidedly synthetic cherry blast that I get from the opening of this fragrance that I flat out dislike. Fortunately it only lasts 30 minutes or so. As the fragrance develops, though, it transforms into this sophisticated, delicate, and inviting floral symphony I'm typically not a fan of florals because i find they often come off as screechy and obviously synthetic. But the florals in this work excellently—they're airy, delicate, and yet they leave a distinct presence. Hummingbird is sweet. I don't just mean the type of sweetness you would expect from its notes—sweet as in compassionate, kind, and approachable. If I smelled someone wearing this, I'd instantly get the vibe that they're a very kind and inviting person. Someone you could depend on. I'm not the kind of person to actually care about this but I should mention that it smells very feminine, for those who do care. There's beautiful perfumery at work here but $200 might be steep. I have no doubt this is a top-of-the-line blend of notes for this kind of fragrance but i suspect something similar to this exists for a lower price point. Keep in mind I actually haven't explored floral fragrances much because I generally don't like them so I might be talking out of my ass. Either way, I love this scent.

Zoologist Hummingbird is one of the more approachable fragrances in the brand's collection, offering a beautifully blended fruit-floral composition that's immediately inviting. It is both distinct and oddly familiar. The opening is difficult to break down into individual notes because everything feels so seamlessly woven together. Rather than focusing on specific fruits or flowers, it simply smells... lovely. It is bright, sweet, and elegant. The scent brings to mind a lush garden filled with flowers and fruit-laden trees. It captures a sense of abundance and vibrant colour without becoming overwhelming. As it develops, the fragrance softens into a more powdery interpretation of the opening, retaining its floral and fruity sweetness while becoming smoother and more delicate. I feel Hummingbird captures the essence of its namesake exceptionally. It's light, colourful, sweet and has an airy quality that feels graceful rather than heavy. Performance is another standout feature. Just a couple of sprays easily last the entire day on my skin. If you're curious about Zoologist but find some of the house's more experimental offerings intimidating, I think that Hummingbird is an excellent place to start.

On first spray, my thought was that this fragrance is sweet like sherbet candy. And yet it wasn't a cheap or juvenile sweetness. It smelt "fizzy" to me. There was a soapy element to it that reminded me of a bubble bath. As the scent settled down it reminded me of a very perfumed bouquet of flowers. There was a small amount of nectar there, but mainly this was like if you sniffed a flower that was strong and healthy and FRAGRANT. Describing it like that maybe makes it seem too intense, but it's actually quite lovely. Not overpowering by any means. So photorealistic. This is a really beautiful floral scent. After a few hours it has a musk lolly quality to it and that compliments the smell of flowers so well. Possibly THE nicest floral scent I have smelt. I could still smell this on me at the end of the day, though I think the projection was pretty mild. Super enjoyable smell. This type of fragrance is not even remotely close to what I usually like for myself, but it's very well crafted, evokes a strong visualisation, and is so bright that I couldn't help but feel good while wearing it. I don't think I'd wear it very often, but I want a full bottle just so I can experience it from time to time.

Massive 90's-style, intense, borderline screechy, floral. I know I used the word "screechy", but interestingly enough, sometimes I like florals like that, and I like Hummingbird a lot. It's super bright and just screams SPRING! I don't notice any particular flowers, just an overall intense floral with fruity undertones, mostly wild cherry, as well as fresh floral undertones that could be peony, I can't be sure. When I smell this, it's like the sun is so bright that it blinds me. Bold florals aren't really my style, I am more of a woods and resins lover, but I must say that this fits beautifully into the Zoologist line because it's almost like an experience rather than just a scent. You will not only see the world though the hummingbird's eyes, but you will also be part of it. The artistry is commendable. Update: Like became Love! It’s really an exquisite floral, and I now pick up the creamy base note, which I didn’t before. This truly smells like a literal vintage 80's-90's perfume. Red Door, Sunflowers, Poison, Boucheron...makes me think of stuff like that. When perfume had a million notes, artistry, voluptuousness and didn't smell so synthetic.

I blind bought a bottle of this (I love hummingbirds and I love all the notes, it just made sense!) and I'm absolutely adoring it. It's very aptly named; it brings to mind a garden full of bright, nectar-filled flowers with hummingbirds buzzing and flitting around overhead. It's more floral than fruity, but not the sharp, heady sort of floral, but a natural, almost green, honey-tinged floral. The pear is prominent as well, and takes on a dewy, fresh scent rather than a sweet one. I was worried around the whipped cream note because I don’t like a lot of sugary sweetness, but while Hummingbird is certainly sweet, it’s a bright, natural sort of sweetness, like freshly cut fruit or a bouquet of wildflowers. Not an edible, dessert-like sweetness. It’s a soft and subtle scent, but the sillage is rather impressive: it’s almost enveloping and I love the way it seems to surround me after I spray it. Overall it’s a gorgeous fragrance and does of a wonderful job of expressing the nature of one of my favorite animals!

This is one of my favorites that I’ve tried from the Zoologist sample pack. You’re immediately hit with a realistic flower garden scent, like you just stuck your nose in a fresh bouquet. It’s sticky and sweet but not in the way gourmands can be sticky sweet. More in the way honey or fresh fruit is. There’s something very comforting about this on the dry down as well. It feels extremely feminine and mature, but not in the way some of my other fragrances are, in that luxurious, fur-coat-wearing manner. Its feminine like a mother in a sundress, relaxed but a little sweaty from the humidity, sitting on a front porch swing in the country, watching the hummingbirds come up to freshly filled feeders and bees buzz around the flower beds she’s just worked on. There’s something sweet and maternal about this that I can’t quite pinpoint. It got me multiple compliments though throughout the day, and out of all the Zoologist fragrances, it’s been the most “wearable” thus far. 10/10 for sure.

through the rush of bouquets lay a fairy, asleep and tranquil, curled underneath petals serving as protection from the outside. a quaint home: cozy and light. leaves and petals bend rays of morning light, and in the crevices of intertwined stems, there resides another fairy bringing in fruits of harvest. a gentle life: simple and serene. she's so lovely! strong floral opening; echoing other reviews, the florals and fresh notes are pressed into a singular Flower scent, with a white flower (to me, honeysuckle) leading the unit with a daisy chain. as it dries down, it falls gently onto apples and pears, completely decorating them. this is what i think spring valley in the pixie hollow game would smell like. i can see the old lady arguments, but idgaf. not powdery enough to be old lady. sharp barks of florals yet no bite, and instead is as gentle as a broken bird wing in the comedown. may not be too groundbreaking, but still a comforting delight!! i'm a sucker for white florals :o)

Wow, what a sparkling rainbow of an aldehydic floral! It’s glorious, floaty late-spring lilacs, all dressed up for a garden party. Something about this scent evokes childhood glee for me; it’s like wearing fairy wings. Maxed-out on gauzy, girly floral delights. There’s a pleasantly sharp, piercing quality to the “nectar” here, and a certain dry clean powdery feel in the drydown, which gives Hummingbird a vintage vibe – not a million miles away from Je Reviens, for instance. Over half an hour the honeysuckle gets stronger and sweeter, and has more of a golden yellow tonality. We’ve moved from May to June. But, while fluffy and honey-sweet, Hummingbird never feels like a gourmand to me. It’s firmly in floral territory. Hummingbird has something of the “rainbow” cheerful fruity-floral quality of Beyond Paradise, wrapped up in a plusher, more vintage-inspired aura of elegance. It’s one of the happiest scents I’ve ever experienced; I can’t stop smiling.

My personal favorite from Zoologist and I'm a 24 year old male. I didn't expect to like Hummingbird so much after reading the notes - I find myself *hating* gourmand/fruit punch-ey/candy women's fragrances, but this one is just exceptional. It would fit on most people of most genders and ages, it is likable in every way and is sexy, classy and fun at the same time... I'm very impressed and I wish Zoologist would create more fragrances in this range, less powdery/woody scents and more vibrant/sparkling ones. Hummingbird will catch people's attention with its uniqueness, balance and confident boldness. Top notes are fruity (I smell grape mostly), middle notes are yellow florals (the switch from fruit to floral is impressive as it stays similar, but also changes drastically) and the dry-down is a fruit&flower paste on discreet wood. Have you read/watched The Perfume? Well Hummingbird is my idea of Grenouille's ultimate.

I have never been complimented by a stranger on my perfume. Now and then a friend will go in for a hug and say that I smell nice but never, ever out of the blue. Until today. The harried lady at the post office stopped dead in her tracks, looked up and said "you smell soooo good, what are you wearing?" She went on to say how she cannot stand perfume, most people come in wearing choking clouds that make her feel smothered. But this? She wrote down the name and the Etsy shop where she could buy a bottle. That's Hummingbird. Bright, clear spring florals dressed with dew and a dollop of fresh glistening honey. This is all singing honeysuckle and lilac on me with a bit of musky/sweet honey in the base. It is breathtakingly beautiful and so unlike most perfume that it seems to take people by surprise. I am enchanted by it and am dreading the moment my sample runs out and my bottle hasn't arrived yet...

I ordered 9 samples from the Zoology website, I had been wanting to blind buy Rabbit since I'm a bunny lover but Hummingbird was the clear winner out of all of my samples. So lovely!!! I get a sweet melange of Flowers, Cherry and Honey with, in the background, a distant and mild laundry detergent or dryer sheet accord. The laundry notes are somewhat what I smell in Oriana but much milder, to add a bit of depth but the laundry accord doesn't make my nose itch like it does a bit in Oriana. The honey note is similar to that in Bee but less overpowering because it's paired with the flowers and the delicious Cherry! I did not need a new perfume to want (especially at these price points) but now I have one argh! Out of the samples I ordered here is how I would order them: Hummingbird, Dragonfly, Cow, Bee, Chameleon, Rabbit, Camel, Bat, Hyrax. (hyrax was a gift they threw in and I can see why!!)

I’ve been reserving judgement on this one for a while but have settled on really liking it. It starts out as an incredibly sweet, floral perfume, with honeysuckle being a dominant note. At times it shifts to a soapy, soft sandalwood and that’s what it settles down to (and stays at) after several hours. It reminds me of the smell of nag champa incense at that point (a definite plus, as I’ve been hunting for that smell in perfume form for years). For me, the last and briefest note is white musk, which I don’t love, but that part lingers for maybe an hour. This is one where the amount you apply seems to dictate its longevity. A light spray will last maybe 7-8h, but a heavier spray (on both neck and wrists) will still be hanging around the next day. This is full bottle worthy for me for days when I want to smell distinctly feminine.

Wow, this is so pretty. VERY sweet and floral. Go light on this one or it may become overwhelming. I mostly get lilacs and honey in the opening, and soft soapy musk on the dry down. I think your reaction to this will be shaped by your life experiences. I grew up in a rural area that had lots of wild lilac bushes growing near our house. During the spring and summer they were so fragrant that you could smell them before you saw them, and they were always buzzing with bees and hummingbirds. So when I first smelled this fragrance, that is where my mind went. I felt like I was living a day in the life of a little bird that was flitting about bright blooms and drinking syrupy nectar in the warm sun. Does this also happen to smell like vintage hand soap and old lady perfume? Yeah, it does. But it works for me.

The absolute longest lasting fragrance I have ever tried by an absurd amount. For context, I have a sample. I applied one single spray to each wrist one morning, and around 3 hours later put on a puffer, with a not at all a porous material, which I wore for maybe 30 minutes total on the walk to and from work. Not only did my wrists smell like it over 24 hours later, but the puffer did as well. I showered, applied a different scent, put on the puffer for another 30 minutes total to and from work. Afterward, the leftover oil was enough to not only over power, but completely REPLACE the scent I had applied 3 hours earlier. Even after taking it off, my wrists still smelled like hummingbird for the rest of the night. Not complaining, great scent, just shocked.

A few years ago, when I first smelled Hummingbird, I wasn’t impressed at all. The scent seemed soapy, suffocating, and overwhelming to me. Later, after I became more familiar with niche fragrances, I started to pick up on more nuances and began to appreciate it. What I perceive now is a tub filled with a luxurious soapy bath, in which a bouquet of white flowers and lilacs is immersed. The fragrance is very complex and has a retro feel. This complexity and the reference to a soapy bath somewhat remind me of Boudoir. I’m not suggesting it’s a dupe, but both scents evoke similar images for me. The longevity is very good, with strong projection at first, eventually settling to about arm’s length.

If you are into florals but do not want something too mature, I feel like Hummingbird could be perfect for you. I do like florals but tend to lean toward other accords. Still, there is something so nostalgic about this fragrance. It brings me back to my childhood, playing outside in the spring with lilacs bushes as tall as my grandmother's porch wafting their scent through the breeze. Lilac notes in perfumes are tough to recreate, but Hummingbird does it so well. There is a playful sweetness that is reminiscent of nectar. After sampling, I purchased a travel spray of this because I do not wear florals often but really enjoy a nice one on a warm sunny day out with the kids.

This is one of the more mystical and beautiful spring-like scents among floral perfumes. I have tried several floral perfumes, and often they fall short of replicating the scents of a garden. It is usually too overpowering, with a strong, chemically sweet flower smell that is also very common. However, I find Hummingbird gives a gentle embrace of these florals, with a dominant lilac scent. I find myself instead thinking it is not too floral, but a perfect level of floral, one that evokes a spring garden without clogging your nose with sweetness. If angels took the form of flowers, I'd say this is what they'd smell like.

Maybe it’s because i simply never spent much time around old people but i dont really feel like it’s an old person fragrance. For me it reminds me of taking walks in spring and smelling all the blooms in the air. It opens up with a sweeter floral fragrance before settling into a more fruity one with stronger plum and cherry notes and finally a pleasant lilac smell. A lot of people think lilac is an old people fragrance but for me it just reminds me of stopping every 3 seconds to huff flowers outside like some kind of coke addict trying to curb their cravings. Really captures the essence of hummingbirds.

I'm not an expert of picking up certain notes so I won't go there but what I do know is what wows me and hummingbird does! It's the epitome of light, airy, pretty, soft and kind. I'm a girly girl and I grew up loving anise anise, burberry brit, d&g the one, if you're a lover of any of the fragrances I've mentioned then you should check out this fragrance. When I wear it I can't stop smelling myself for hours. This is so good to me that I wouldn't care if no one ever compliments me on it, doesn't matter. I feel like I get it/ I've found a rare diamond, I'll forever keep hummingbird in my collection.

First impression was, “This is the most fantastic hand soap or laundry softener”. On my skin, Hummingbird is an amazing bright floral, fresh scent. I get notes of peaches, grapefruit, lavender, violet and clarysage at the top, jasmine at the heart and musk in the base. The musk aspect is quite strong and slightly synthetic, your laundry detergent sort of “blue”musk. This scent is reminiscent of Ex Nihilo’s Fluer Narcotique. I tried this on skin for the first time today (I think?) and WOW. It just goes to show you that skin chemistry is everything. This is a gorgeously sweet and honeyed floral on me. It’s a very similar honey note to Bee, one where you can smell the pollen, but it is far less intense and suffocating. It is then balanced with a fresh whipped cream to smooth it and topped with lovely non-cloying florals, including a NON-indolic lilac. For some reason lilac often goes indolic/pissy on me, so the fact this isn’t is amazing. This is, at least for today, a love.

On me, this opened as a sweet floral with predominantly honeysuckle, honey and lilac notes, and had a soft, powdery dry down. It's gorgeous, delicate, ultra feminine, has a vintage quality, and is right up my alley, but I doubt I'd pay $165 a bottle for it. Update: after 2 days of using a sample from Ministry of Scent, I've changed my mind, and decided to purchase a full bottle. The longevity is fantastic, and I was incessantly smelling my arm all day, eliciting laughter from my son. Another STUNNING triumph from Zoologist.

I’m not a big period piece enjoyer, but this reminds me of a Jane Austen novel, the English countryside in spring, having afternoon tea amidst the flowers in the garden wearing a fancy dress. This one is very feminine, and instead of just plain florals, you’re instead surprised by the fruit and nectar notes. It’s juicy in a way only a dew-kissed stonefruit can be. Lilac is notoriously difficult to capture in perfumery, and it smells like the actual plant I had the privilege of smelling irl, which I absolutely adore.

Very sweet bouquet of flowers and honey, reminds me of Bee but way less honey and more florals. I get the lilac and honeysuckle at the start very honey white floral like, not very fruity at least on me and in the dry down the whipped cream takes over. Leans a little feminine but personally love the assorted flowers definitely paints a picture of a garden full of flowers and juicy nectar can see why this is one of the most popular Zoologists

opens with a beautifully subdued apple, cherry, and plum, with a prominent rose and honeysuckle base. a smell slightly thinner than honey, yet still syrupy, like the stickiness of the hands after eating an orange. presents a clean, soap like floral, without being overly soapy; clean and sweet. very natural, leafy and light, speaks softly yet with confidence. colors: peachy orange, pale yellow, light pale red (not pink though).

i looooooove this scent 💕 i get lots of honeysuckle and lilac with some cherry and honey that fades into something sweet with a musky wool smell underneath. i felt like a little fairy princess in this lol. definitely buying a full bottle. strangely enough (considering other reviews) i feel like this starts to fade pretty quickly on my skin. after a few hours at work i barely get any traces of it :') not even on my clothes.

Only my second perfume smash in a lifetime. My Hummingbird, due to it just jumping out of its perfume bird cage, succumbed to the carpet below and disintegrated into pieces. No amount of CPR could revive it. I now have the best smelling carpet EVER. A sweet floral elixir full of fruity and divine nectar notes....just gone. I will have to buy something new now. Goodbye me sweet bird, may we meet again soon.

A better version of Cherry Eclipse by Ariana Grande in the opening. Either it's higher quality ingredients, a varied array of chemicals and/or it's better blended but while it's (personally) not the first smell I'd go for, if you love cherry and florals, this is for you. Lovely, soft scent IN THE DRYDOWN: Smells purely floral, in fact I'd say this fragrance is for an older lady

Do I... like florals now??? This might be my favorite of the zoologist sample pack I got. The fruity sweetness is blended so well with the florals and there is a creaminess in there too. It's very effervescent and enchanting. Very clean and non-offensive. I can see how the florals might be a bit too overpowering for some tastes though.

This fragrance is pretty complex and also and consists of many ingredients. You can smell the floral notes with a little bit of honey and diffrent fruits. Its like you are in a blooming forest where you are walking through a bed full of flowers, while you are smelling the honey, from a bees nest under a tree. Very well blendet scent!

UPDATE: I now am OBSESSED with this fragrance; I couldn't stop getting whiffs of myself! It's an ultra-sweet floral scent that my friend thinks smells like cheap bubble bath but in a nice way. I don't smell that, but it sounds like a crowd pleaser for anyone who likes sweet florals. Super strong aswell obviously!

I absolutely love her!! Not my favorite zoologist (that honor goes to Rabbit, but I just love this intense, fruity scent. Hummingbird reminds me of grape juice, though there’s no grape accord listed. If you don’t like sweet scents, it won’t be your vibe, but as far as Zoologist scents go, this is a wearable one.

One of my favorites. It's bright, floral, sweet, and overall pleasant. Unlike any other I've smelled, incluing other floral ones. One of the stronger fragrances I've encountered, including within the Zoologist catalog. I've tried most of the Zoologists, and of them, this is my favorite.

this is just one of the most amazing perfumes i own. i fell in love with the floral sweetness of it right away, its like a honey and flowers infused hug, cant stress enough how perfect this is for spring and also summer nights. super long lasting and projecting, CAN'T GET ENOUGH!

Very unique composition. It's a sweet floral that perfectly reprends the hummingbird. I love how it's not just a big soup of sweetness, it's way more refined. I find it unisex leaning feminine, but as a guy I'd completely wear this, love it ! Performance is excellent.

Just got this one and this is one of the more mass appealing ones i love the fruity apple honey plum and the background of flowers it feels like im in a garden on a summery day smelling flowers and eating apples GREEN apples yes i love this

This is a very complex flower honey fragrance. It open very strong and sweet, but the dry down smells more like honey and flowers. I get verry little fruit. It is very unique and good. It takes some getting used to, but I absolute love it.

Super heavy on the lilac, I can barely smell the other notes. I thought I'd fall in love with this one, but after multiple wears it still doesn't feel special. It's a pleasant floral fragrance, but nothing more.

very soft, very floral. picture a bright pink cloud with flowers of all kinds growing out of it. thats what ts smells like. smells like a candle your mom would buy at Yankee Candle in 2007.
