Mon Ame

This is an extremely beautiful fresh yet powdery scent with a tender honey-like sweetness in the base. I feel like it smells very elegant and pure but also sort of natural at the same time. I never smelled actual orris root powder but I imagine that it might smell similar to this fragrance, with some added notes like orange and herbs for freshness. Exceptional!! My ig: scent.guide

"Mon ame" has a terrific opening, strongly weighted with orris. Thereafter it unfortunately tends to fall apart, though the non-descript dry-down is long-lasting.

Sweet rooty orris opening with powder and wormwood. The candied violet adds some dimension to what is primarily an orris scent with musk adding warmer fluffy sweetness to the violets--though this is not gourmand or "sweet" per se. It's neither a dry nor astringent powder Iris. For me as a scent, it's "meh." Okay. The longevity is low to moderate and silage is not present. It doesn't move beyond three inches off me and there's no trail. Not really my thing, but Iris lovers may like the sheer quality and less aloof formality of this Iris compared to others. I prefer something with a bit more substance.

I am slightly envious on people on whom this scent develops pleasantly - unfortunately, on me, it is a foul wormwood bomb. I was forced to shower after applying this fragrance, as it nauseated me immediately. I was very intrigued by the pyramid, seeing as it combines some of my favourite (bergamot,violet) and least favourite (orris root, wormwood) notes, so it is a pity that I get such a strong, physical reaction to it. Perhaps others can enjoy it better.

Orris roots and violets. I got the orris roots fried note the first thing but it vanishes almost completely after few seconds leaving the violets, dirty vetiver, dusty sandalwood, cedar, oranges, and jasmines. I also detect Rose's and lily of the valley with hints of sweetness. It's a cute blend with its orris, violets, rosy blend. I cant classify it as woody but more floral iris blend. Cute. Edit (30 minutes in) the colder it goes the soapier it gets with cleaner musk, no orris, and no violets no more.
