Cacti

The main note here is lemon. First whiff, it may seem borderline astringent. I have a feeling because there are a lot of oddball notes in this one. Cactus? Peach? The hell? I really had to give this one several solid wearings. I've come around to it, but it's not this amazing revelation of a masterpiece. It's an interesting citrus, with some random sweet / pungent touches from the peach and violet. They work together, but not in some masterful blending. It's just okay. NOT worth the price tag at all, but definitely unlike lots of lemon-forward scent. It's worth noting that I'm not a fan of most lemon-forward frags, but this one is passable. I don't know if that's because I'm coming around to lemon as a note, or this fragrance. Longevity is... horrible. I don't really know how else to put it, but can't fault this fragrance for it. That's just how citruses are. The dry down is mostly forgettable, with that classic musk / vetiver base, but the violets give it a tad of character. I'm not a perfumer, but my overall impression is that this frag could have been infinitely better if they just decided on one unusual note rather than 2, and focused on crafting around that. Instead, all the unusual portions at once can be abrasive, leaving the only way to make the composition good being just reducing the prominence of all that makes this unique.

Not sure why it's called cacti. The peach is so strong and dominant and pretty much present throughout. I loved the opening but the peach though is too feminine leaning for me.
